An apartment hotel, a bit dated, but with a covered promenade that leaves little to be desired

It's showing its age, but the location is great. Despite the huge building, the three elevators are easy to get around. Parking and tourist tax are paid upon arrival. The view is magnificent, but by mid-August, it was already a bit autumnal. You need a car, as the buses only run once or twice a day.

The Wi-Fi is very, very poor, and mobile data doesn't work... The rooms are very dated. The staff are incredibly unfriendly, especially the older woman with the white hair.

The mattresses are unfortunately a bit worn and could use replacing, and the TV could be a bit bigger. The breakfast buffet is extensive, and the evening buffet is delicious and varied. The staff is always friendly and cheerful. Overall, highly recommended.

I've been staying at this hotel since I was a little kid. Nothing has been renovated since then. The hotel is truly EXTREMELY outdated. It really needs some serious work. The location is, of course, fantastic, and the view is unbeatable. If it weren't for this, I would avoid the hotel by now.

A very relaxing holiday, including falling asleep to the sound of the surf and waking up to a magnificent view of the Baltic Sea. The breakfast buffet was excellent, as was the service. The proximity to the beach is great, especially with small children, and if the weather isn't great, you can also go swimming at the Fehmare beach next door. Otherwise, there's plenty to explore on the island, ideally by bike; the hotel also has a bike rental shop where you can even rent cargo bikes. At the end of the day, we still relaxed in the beach bar directly across the street. We'll be back!

The IFA isn't exactly a beauty at first glance, but it's very functionally built. All rooms have stunning sea views. The breakfast was very good in terms of quality and selection. Especially with children, we always found something fun to do near the hotel, even in moderate weather. Overall, a successful vacation, and we would come back anytime!

We only went to the beach. You can get small snacks and drinks at prices that are OK for a vacation spot.

We stayed in a one-room apartment at the Vitamar house for a week. It's not the most modern, but perfectly adequate! The room, bathroom, pool, and grounds were all very clean. The reception staff were very friendly and patient, answering questions with a smile and offering tips. We had a very relaxing few days, thank you! We will be back.

We had a vacation apartment with our dog on the fifth floor with a great sea view. The furnishings are a bit dated, but still okay. The internet is poor, and so is the Wi-Fi. Perfect for relaxing.

A clean hotel. If you're self-catering, there's no cleaning and no towel changes. That wasn't okay for me. What I also missed was the lack of entertainment, so it was a bit boring for us.

Yes, I can recommend it. It's right by the sea. Wonderful trails for hiking and cycling—you should definitely take advantage of them.

The hotel itself looks good at first glance but when you get your own room you notice how run down the hotel is the room well there is very little space the kitchen is not a kitchen the power sockets are exactly where you don't need them bathroom is okay but not suitable for summer the balcony is very dirty the room was clean but you get an additional 2 hours of Feh-Mare which I think is very good what annoyed me were the elevators 1 elevator was out of service the whole time the internet was very bad it was so overloaded that it almost never worked the staff were very unfriendly

Beautiful place, great location right on the beach, but the hotel urgently needs renovation, the rooms have a gorgeous view but you can't see well through the dirty windows, it would be nice to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine but I don't want to because of its view. If you do some renovation it will be a super place, for now the overall impression is spoiled a little by this

The apartment scores particularly well for its excellent location. The view of the marina is stunning, and many attractions, such as the lighthouse and the romantic "Heart Castle," where you can attach a love lock or, in our case, a family lock, are in the immediate vicinity. The surrounding area is also ideal for families with children – the mermaid playground is just a few steps away and was enthusiastically welcomed by our children. As for the apartment itself, our impressions unfortunately coincide with many of the points already mentioned in other reviews. The furnishings are generally dated and appear quite worn in places. The white curtains, in particular, are in desperate need of a wash to create a well-maintained impression. With a little more attention to cleanliness and some partial modernization, this accommodation could fulfill its potential. Conclusion: The location is great – but the apartment itself is in desperate need of a facelift.

Fehmarn is truly a beautiful island. We stayed in this aparthotel, and unfortunately, it was very bad. There were many bloodstains on the bed. They should have noticed that, and the bed should have been changed, at least for hygiene reasons. We slept on mattresses on the floor because we didn't want to change rooms after unpacking everything. On the day we checked out, we put our things in the car. We still had two hours to check out. When we wanted to get to our room, the cleaning ladies were already in the room. And we saw the blood-stained bed being remade. And the terrace was so dirty, it seemed as if it was never cleaned. It's a shame that hotels in such a beautiful place are dirty and neglected.

Top hotel, right on the beach, with a beach club right on the doorstep, ideal for dog owners, very friendly staff, and a good breakfast! We'll be happy to come back.

Apartments in the marina are highly recommended... I've been using IFA Fehmarn for years and have always been completely satisfied and delighted. However, this year things have gotten a bit more expensive.

We stayed at Haus Kopenhagen with the travel agency during the off-season. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. The room was okay, except that separate beds for married couples could have been clarified beforehand. We're used to more extensive breakfast buffets. The island as a whole is worth a visit.

The room is very dated. The amenities are substandard. The location is quite good, right on the beach. Unfortunately, customer requests made during the booking process were not addressed at all. We will look for somewhere else to stay next time.

It was very nice again. We were there for the second time. Only this time we were on the 16th floor in Copenhagen. The elevator only goes up to the 15th floor. That means lugging all your luggage up one floor. I didn't think it was that great because I have very bad knee problems. If I had known this beforehand, I wouldn't have booked.

Due to the fact that the entire facility is getting old and the new investor has not renovated anything, unfortunately nothing is positive anymore except for the location. Mattresses completely worn out. Bathroom very bad and dirty. Hot water is usually not available in the morning hours. The walls and frame were perhaps last cleaned in 1988. Ventilation system for cleaning in the Copenhagen house and incredibly loud at night.. nothing works without the window closed.. unfortunately.

This is really a bad hotel, old and outdated, the furniture from 1970, nothing is furnished with love or suggests that the guest is welcome here! Unfortunately, this is also reflected by the unfriendly lady at the reception! The beds are terrible, the sofa is broken, the cupboard where the TV is has holes in it, you don't even want to make coffee in the small kitchen! The only plus point is the location, unfortunately we had a view of the huge parking lot! We originally planned to stay two nights but will be leaving early! What a disappointment!!!!!

If simple accommodation is enough for you, it's fine. The hotel is simply very old and the room is completely old. You can spend the night there but that's it. We had a room for 4 people, which was quite cramped and small. The equipment is very limited...for 4 people there were 2 forks and the kitchen on site cannot be called a kitchen. We have had better equipped apartments for a long time. You can't stand a summer vacation here at all. The only advantage is the location on the south beach... simply perfect. You can park right in front of the door for 5 euros per night. Bicycle rental and bakery right in front of the hotel and the thermal baths are free for hotel guests for 2 hours every day. So OK for a short vacation. Nevertheless, the facility really needs to be renewed a little. Bed linen and towels are included.

Super room with everything for a mini stay. For 2 people 110 Euros per night approved, however, breakfast at 18 Euros per person is just on the upper end in relation to the offer. Nice and clean, for an extra payment vufi can also be included😊

Unfortunately, the outside of the hotel is a bit old. A little color would be good for the look. The hotel is located directly on the beach. Very good food and friendly service staff.

Affordable holiday apartments in a prime location, parking 5 euros/day, moderate local tourist tax, bike rental on site

We really liked it, had a 1-room apartment in the Fernblickhaus, 2 adults and 2 children. Great location, rooms as described and very clean, a lot offered by the complex. The bicycle storage should be mentioned very positively. A small drawback is the very expensive half-board, but you can also get food elsewhere on site, for example from the beach pizzeria or the restaurant, and the WiFi is somewhat weak. But it's complaining at a high level. We'll definitely be back. We really liked it, the location right on the beach and on the bike path is simply unique and Fehmarn is simply beautiful.

Catastrophic for holidaymakers who are offered such rooms! Plus indifferent reception staff! Check out the video and pictures! Addendum: The contact with management is positive! They didn't try to justify themselves, but agreed that such a room shouldn't have been allowed to be rented out! Let's keep our fingers crossed for all guests that something like this doesn't happen again!

We were here with 3 buses. Accommodation and food left us wanting for nothing. Very pleasant and friendly atmosphere. We'll be back.

A very nice hotel, directly on the beach with a great view of the Baltic Sea and an excellent breakfast buffet! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We come here every year in the early and late season! The rooms are equipped for 4 people with everything you need for self-catering. The view is directly over the Baltic Sea. Dogs are allowed up to the 4th floor. There are 16 floors, although you have to climb the stairs to reach the 16th floor, the elevator only goes up to the 15th floor! But you will be rewarded with a fantastic view. All rooms have sea views.

Mixed feelings, the location itself is great, the rooms are incredibly old and run down. We got another room which probably took 3 hours to clean. I don't know what was done during the 3 hours, but at least the room was ventilated and the toilet was used properly. Definitely wouldn't come again. And someone who values ​​cleanliness is not particularly well looked after there. My husband is a severe allergy sufferer and unfortunately had to leave early because it didn't work despite having a vacuum cleaner

I stay here once or twice a year, always in the off-season. The price is unbeatable. The service is always friendly and courteous. Every room has a sea view, and so far, I've always stayed on one of the top five floors. Unfortunately, the rooms now look very worn and are in need of a complete overhaul. The towers would probably even need a complete renovation, but that could be difficult, given their historic status.

The location of the complex is simply fantastic. You could definitely do more with the rooms and make them a little more modern, but the rooms are absolutely clean! Unfortunately the beds are terrible 😐. If investments were made here and a renovation were to take place, people would definitely be happy to pay more for their vacation because the location is unbeatable. The breakfast and dinner are absolutely fine and everyone should find something they like. The service is very nice and friendly. I would definitely come again

The hotel was built in the 1970s, so its layout is accordingly simple. We had a room on the 16th floor, with good weather and therefore a wonderful view.

The location on the beach is great even in bad weather. The rooms are functionally furnished and always have a view of the Baltic Sea. The fridge in our room was probably powered by diesel, but from the sound of it (fun) it was still great...

The rooms were very clean, stunning views. Unfortunately, the cooperation with the Windrose restaurant is terrible! We were told at reception we didn't need to reserve a table. When we checked out on Sunday, the lady at the reception warned us. "It's very busy today." So we waited in line for about 30 minutes to get a table, for which we had unfortunately already paid for breakfast. Annoying and unfortunately overshadowing an otherwise lovely stay.

Just the 70s. Beach okay. If you want peace and quiet, ideal. Best in the off-season. But then not all restaurants are open. So off to the city.

The hotel is getting old and the mattresses are really not ok! Great view and nice staff. But what really scares me is the wind!! It whistles through every crack, through the elevator and through the air shafts from bottom to top. What happens if a fire breaks out? Is the Lopesan Group saving on this?

We were there for two nights. Unfortunately the weather wasn't that nice. The hotel is located directly by the sea. you can take a walk along the promenade. The room was a bit outdated but the value for money was ok.

211€/night for an “old building” is completely excessive.

I've been coming here for ages and always enjoy it. Yes, some of the rooms are not modern, but they are clean. And if they weren't, we let them know straight away and were able to change. No problem, you just have to say it right away and not whine until after your vacation 😉. Many thanks also to the IFA team for keeping my forgotten fairy lights from last time 😊.

Hello IFA team, I'm surprised I haven't written a review long ago. We have been to the IFA Hotel on Fehmarn 6 or 7 times now and have always been thrilled. The location on the beach is perfect and if you have a distant view room on one of the upper floors you can see far out to sea. Fantastic. Although the rooms are getting old, they are still perfectly adequate, large and clean. The service and employees are always very courteous. I haven't had anything negative to say about it in all these years. We always booked half board when we visited, so we had a breakfast and dinner buffet. There was something for everyone here and if our kids wanted something extra (chips) we had it at no extra cost. One star deduction (4 instead of 5) for the furnishings (rooms)...it could maybe be modernized after x years :-) Until the next vacation.

It's getting a bit old. But that's not a drama. The price was great. In the front row with a great view over the Baltic Sea. We have stayed here many times and will come again.

I was your guest at the end of November. I got the view I wanted and was able to take beautiful pictures. Sunrise 🌄 on the south beach is a real dream. Gladly again..... Yes. It's just a holiday area. Restaurant good. Staff nice. Unfortunately, there are also craftsmen living in the hotel who cannot maintain a dress code in the restaurant. We'd love to come back.

Spent a really great time and treatment there. My accompanying children also thought it was great there. Room great. House service top, therapists of all kinds top, kitchen staff top, food good, view and proximity to the beach can't be beat. Big praise!!

The room was getting old, but it was clean. Unfortunately, the beds were a disaster. They sagged and wobbled back and forth like pudding, which is why a good night's sleep was unfortunately not possible. There should also be assigned parking spaces so that guests from House 1 do not have to park at the back of House 3.

I've been coming here again and again since the late 90's. Previously with my parents, now with my own family. The house, or rather the houses, have aged along with me. If you want, you can see cosmetic flaws and the need for renovation everywhere. This time we had a 2-room apartment again, in house 2 (Berlin). The chairs at the dining table were not worn out, but - we suspect - they were already badly worn out from a lot of cleaning (corona disinfection?). A more visual defect that doesn't harm the actual purpose. The sofa bed might need a new mattress. Unfortunately this was broken. In the room, as well as throughout the building, you could see the efforts of the house service to temporarily save the guests' scratches and damage as best they could over the season. But hey. Everything was clean, the (silicone) joints in the bathroom were fresh and free of mold (I know this to be different even from “high-quality” hotels). What always draws us here is the good service, the beautiful view (no matter which room), the top location and the island itself. The restaurants in the complex are all good too. Whether Marché, Windrose or beach pizzeria. Price performance fits. The complex still has a certain charm, which it has lost relatively little of over the years. You can hate or love the towers. I/we think they are simply part of Fehmarn and should be preserved for a long time. Please don't let the renovation/renovation take too long. We would love to come back!

We stayed in this hotel on the weekend of 18/20/1024. Basically it was a nice stay. But you have to make compromises here too. I like children, they are the future, if the producers and educators give their children too much freedom in certain situations, running around, screaming........I will no longer book my vacation at a time when there are vacations . I also didn't understand why families were distributed in such a way that single travelers were disturbed.

The restaurant is quite ok, not really good, but ok. However, the rooms definitely do not justify the horrendous price. All in all completely shabby and shabby. Some of the beds wobble when turned over and are more reminiscent of camping furniture than hotel beds. Everything else is also at least 40 years old. The staff in the restaurant are very friendly and helpful, at the reception only some of them are.

My partner and I stayed here for a week. A nice vacation. Whether alone, as a couple or as a whole family, there is something for everyone here.

Great value for money and great location.

We had a hotel room on the 14th floor where we had a great view! The breakfast buffet was great and there was everything from tea to coffee, especially the delicious rolls! We had the 4 nights including breakfast! It was my first time in a hotel and we will definitely come back!

A renovation would do the whole thing a lot of good. The entire building could have been on the other side of the inner-German border in the 80s. The location, however, is prime.

We have been coming to this hotel for 9 years now and have always had a two-room apartment. This year was really the highlight. We booked for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) plus a high chair. When we moved into the room there were only bedding and towels for 3 people and the high chair was also missing. Then I went to reception and reported this. It was also recorded by the employees and they told me that housekeeping would take care of it straight away and whether they could still do this work even if we were not in the room. I had agreed that they could enter the room despite our absence. When we came back from the evening walk it was exactly as we had left it. I then went back to reception and was told that the housekeeping staff was no longer there. I also had to pay 15 euros for a duvet cover, which I find excessive when the organization doesn't even work when you book for 4 people and you then have to do the work yourself. The mattress on the sofa bed is so worn out that you can see every feather and the mattress is really dirty. We have never been as disappointed as this time in this hotel and we will consider coming back again.
