Food and ambience top Service: Depends on the day and time. Was there on Friday evening (All You Can Eat). Almost everything is full. - got a tablet. Drinks came quickly. - Ordered food from the 1st course after 5-10 minutes (4 people). Night 30min. partially received (rest at the end). - Spent the last 1.5 hours (All You Can Eat) ordering and waiting. Conclusion: food and ambience TOP. Service/waiting time can be expanded

Bad experience - we won't be back We ate at this restaurant about a month ago and unfortunately our experience was disappointing. The food was fine and the service from the staff was mostly acceptable - with one exception. A woman in the restaurant was extremely unfriendly. We had eaten almost everything except for two small pieces of rice as it was too sweet for our taste. We chose dishes other than sushi because the rice seemed too sweet to us. When the woman saw the leftover rice grains, she reacted angrily and said that in this case we should have only ordered sashimi. This comment was inappropriate and really annoyed us. What bothered us even more was the fact that we saw at another table that guests were leaving significantly more food, including meat, but there was no comment from this woman. This left us with a very uncomfortable feeling. We had eaten here once two years ago and had a negative impression of this person back then. After this new experience, we decided never to come back - even if we were offered a free meal. Unfortunately a very disappointing and unpleasant experience.

Is a good restaurant with a clever concept. The food includes everything from meat to vegetarian. Prices have risen again but are still acceptable in the face of inflation. The plates come freshly prepared and after a reasonable time. The only small drawback: Every now and then you forget a partial order. You should always make a reservation on the weekend, especially if there are several people.

We eat here regularly, sometimes with friends, sometimes as a family. The food is good, for the price you'll fill up every last person. With 3-4 fully ordered rounds we are definitely satisfied with the all-you-van-eat. Unfortunately, we had to realize again today that various dishes are brought to the table so late that you quickly lose track and suddenly instead of the 2 ordered portions, 4 or 5 are brought to the table. But you don't even need to try to explain this to the staff, as they don't speak German, English or French. (Statement from the service person: only Hungarian). Apart from the language, no consideration is given to whether there is still room for plates at the other end of the table; everything is literally always stuffed in the same place. The main thing is quickly, quickly. Sauces run down the edge of the plate, drinks are placed on the table so vigorously that it spills over. We will probably come back because - as far as the food is concerned - even those who don't necessarily want to eat sushi will get their money's worth. But if you're looking for good service, you'll unfortunately look in vain here.

Edit: The service and quality of the food have really improved over the last few months. Would be happy to give one more star! Now I'm really happy there :) ---- In my opinion, the sushi at Oishii is one of the better sushis in Freiburg, but sometimes the taste is not 100% where it should be. Especially the rolls that only contain fish taste a little different than you would find in better shops. There are some exciting rolls that impress with sauces and exciting combinations. In general, the price-performance ratio is definitely very good. My biggest problem, however, is the service. So far I have had the feeling that all the waiters are annoyed by the customers and, for example, don't even look at me during the conversation. This makes it a bit uncomfortable if, for example, you repeatedly communicate that you want to pay and are afraid of upsetting the already annoyed waiter even more.

This time my sister and I went to the Oishii Restaurant in the Westarkkaden All-You-Can-Eat because the restaurant in Dreisam Stadtmitte is unfortunately closed. The Chinese service woman was very friendly and nice, she also pointed out to us when we first ordered that some of the things we had ordered cost extra (we then deleted that) and showed us how we could see that. The food always came quickly. We ordered 3 times and then we were so full that nothing left us in our stomachs. Everything tasted very good, beautifully prepared and there was plenty to eat, you have to remember that if you scroll down on the tablet you will see even more dishes, we only discovered that after some time. In the future I will always bring my own gluten-free and salt-reduced soy sauce, but I didn't tell the waitress that I preferred that, maybe they would have had that. All in all, a very successful lunch, we paid €41 for 30 portions + two drinks for two, which is €1.36 per portion, so an incredibly cheap price, because some portions are several sushi or Maultaschen! The restaurant wasn't too crowded either, so we were able to eat in peace. We can highly recommend making your way to the Westarkaden, we are not normally in this area, but the shopping street is also interesting. We would be happy to come back to Oishii, thank you for the good food and the opportunity to enjoy there in this pleasant atmosphere.

Hello this is an honest independent review Don't eat there!!!! Some of the plates are unwashed and are simply filled with new dishes. The tables are sticky they are not wiped down. Some rounds are simply not brought and it is claimed that they were brought. Take a look at the WKD website where the restaurant was inspected by the food authorities and closed due to significant defects

I have been to Oishii several times, about once per year. This is the only time I have been so disappointed, I don't want to go back. The tempura was so greasy, you could squeeze the oil from it. The sushi was warm. The salmon teriyaki was tough. The mango ice cream had no taste of mango, only the color. I won't be going back.

I have always enjoyed eating here until now. We did the “all you can eat.” Anything deep fried was so grease-soaked, if you pressed your chopstick in it, it just flowed. Other foods like the sushi and nori were simply flavorless. Even the edamame tasted old and was overcooked. Salmon was tough as boots. Calamari was cooked inside an impenetrable ring of dense, overcooked dough. Food often came so late we had forgotten we ordered it. We won’t be back, anc for that I’m sorry - I always look forward to it.

Great idea to order with the iPad and in rounds to avoid wasting food. Food was good and fresh. Service so-so: Was alone in the restaurant as I was there on a business trip. The waitress asked me if someone else was coming, I said no. It was pretty full, but there were still a few tables available. The waitress struggled to give me a table for 4 people because I was alone. She was even cheeky enough to ask me to sit at the corner table right at the entrance, where there was hardly any lighting and where you could hear the constant comings and goings of the guests. At this point it was raining outside and very windy, so I would have been exposed to the draft. In addition, the space was far away from the actual dining room and also far away from the other guests. I felt really pushed away and said to the waitress that I wanted to go to the dining room where the other guests were. Visibly annoyed, she accompanied me to a table for four in the middle of the room. I was only able to order a drink after more than 20 minutes and I wasn't asked if everything was OK even during the meal. I didn't feel welcome and left after 2 rounds. The food is good, but you don't necessarily have to visit again.

The service was very quick and friendly. The drinks we ordered came very quickly. We had the evening buffet via tablet order. Unfortunately, my partner didn't like most of the food; the baked duck was good. The sushi itself was delicious, but unfortunately the sushi rice was lukewarm, which I personally don't like. My highlight was the nigiri with flambeed salmon. The selection of food is okay, but we were a little disappointed with the dessert selection, for example there weren't the usual sesame balls. We paid just under €72 for two meals and three large soft drinks, which I found to be quite expensive. We have often been to a provider in another city with the same system and we like the selection and taste better. Overall okay, but not outstanding.

The Oishii system is quite nice: the table has an iPad from which the food and drinks are ordered. That's good because you don't have to wait for a waiter, the orders tick off a printer in the kitchen and are served as soon as they're ready. You can quickly lose track of things, but it helps to look at your order history on the iPad. But: once you're not careful and you order wildly, you'll quickly rack up a hefty bill. The all-you-can-eat deal, in which you can apparently order without limits, without having to think about money, helps against this. Unfortunately, this is a trap! We explain: Various mechanisms are used to prevent fraud. 1.: Everything must be ordered in one ordering round, the visit is limited to 10 rounds. 2.: A maximum of 5 dishes can be ordered per person per ordering round. 3rd: You have to wait 10 minutes until the next round of orders. One thing in advance: Even the hungriest visitor has the opportunity to fill his stomach to the hilt, even if the maximum number of dishes per ordering round or the maximum number of ordering rounds are not used. Those who don't know this and are therefore not completely relaxed can fall into costly mistakes. The deal costs 14.90 euros at lunchtime and 29 euros per person in the evening (which can of course change at any time). At lunchtime the offer is limited, e.g. sashimi or other dishes with predominantly fish are not included in the deal. In the evening you could previously eat up and down the entire menu - but that has been changed. Even in the evenings, surcharges are occasionally charged for the really good things. It's there, but it's easy to miss. Conclusion: The items are consistently tasty and well made, which is of course a matter of taste. In the end we were over 50 euros per person, and that was without even ordering five pints of beer.

I really like the food at this restaurant. Our family comes to eat 2 times a month. The staff are very friendly, the place is clean ( the furniture is not really nice), the sushi is good quality, the food is fresh and every menu is delicious. Ordering food is very easy through the tablet. The waiters are quite fast. If you don't wanna wait for your food, you have to order the next round before finished the last on your plate. The food will come just in time. I was very impressed with this restaurant.

I almost didn't go to Oishii due to some bad Google reviews from the last few weeks. Ultimately, I trusted my companion's recommendation and was not disappointed. It was very tasty and considering what you get, it was also very good value for money. The great trick is not to overeat (which is unfortunately tempting with all-you-can-eat), but to stop in good time when you are pleasantly full. I can imagine that otherwise you would have digestive problems. Perhaps this also explains why some people didn't feel well after visiting Oishii. In any case, we had a great time afterwards. We will be back.

We got there, it was so loud in the restaurant, we decided to sit outside. We were only presented with the “all you can eat” option so we figured that was the only option. We thought about the price performance and realized that something must be wrong. We ordered the first round and half didn't arrive. In order to see if anything arrived at all, we ordered a second round. In the meantime we got 2 wrong sushi orders and 1.5 hours have passed. Something came out of the second round. We asked for our sushi and the waitress didn't even know if the sushi was still coming. We ended up having to pay for the entire 10 round menu without even 2 full rounds arriving at our table. When we wanted to complain, we were told that next time we could simply order “a la carte”. We didn't even know there was a map. All of that was purely intentional, quite frankly a cheek, there was a stoner waiter who took a quick nap at some table. I don't feel itchy anymore because I'm sick now. Just don't go. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!

My girlfriend is heavily pregnant and of course hasn't eaten any raw fish or anything similar and still has salmonella poisoning! Extremely dangerous and an absolute disgrace at this dirty shop!! Hygiene is a foreign word for the oishii Westarkaden!!! Mouse droppings were already found everywhere last winter, and this probably got worse rather than better!

Food poisoning I visited on Thursday March 7th. In 2024 we ate all you can eat with four friends at Oishii and all five of us suffered from food poisoning with salmonella and serious consequences! This dirty shop doesn't even deserve one star. Absolute disgrace!! The shop has to be closed with this non-existent hygiene!!!

I went to this restaurant with my friends on Saturday. Unfortunately, you could see from afar how the food was being carried out of the kitchen in masses every 5 minutes. How should you comply with hygiene regulations here? I'm not surprised that more than 15 people (see Google rating) also suffered from food poisoning that day, along with us

Although we have been there several times and the food was mostly okay, after the last visit all 6 of us suffered from food poisoning. The fact that the store had been closed a few times before due to hygiene problems should have been a warning to us. Now it has caught us. I think that explains the rating sufficiently.

The quality of the food is very variable. Here we ate very tasty sushi and something delicious from the grill; Unfortunately, on other days it is also very fatty. Due to the large selection of all-inclusive dishes, we ordered something different. Since I come occasionally, I get into the habit of not eating anything that is inedible. For example, the chicken strips tend to stay in the deep fryer for a little too long. It would be possible to improve if orders from a round were also served together. If I order salmon tepaniaki, fried rice and vegetables, it can take 30 minutes between the three plates 😬 Update 2024: Prices increased by €1. The Oishii gave me a good experience every time. Eating enough is not rocket science, the food was always good. Not everything always arrives when you would expect and I'm not sure if everything actually arrives, but waiting is rare.

It used to be better. Not good today. Courts were forgotten. A service worker walked around in sweatpants. Some dishes were cold, some of them could have been warm (pasta). And vegetarian sushi has been under siege by the fishy ones...and the price has gone up. No longer a good price/performance ratio 😪

Terrible… the food was very expensive and didn't taste good at all. For 32.90 euros you can expect a little more. The service was very unfriendly, the food was thrown on the table. The drinks were disgusting too. Please don't order long drinks, rather something from the bottle. The “restaurant” is so disgustingly dingy. I will certainly never eat there again or recommend it to anyone. The WKD should really come through.

This was by far the worst sushi I have ever eaten! I had taken menu number 8 with me, so I couldn't let it go back. The maki were tasteless and didn't hold together. To top it all off, the salmon tempura, an indefinable shell, was totally greasy and filled with canned tuna. Never ever!

Typisches Oishii - Essen gut, Ambiente etwas laut. Bestellung über Tablet funktioniert problemlos. Bei Runde 5 von 10 mussten wir aber kapitulieren 😅 Nach Weihnachten war mittags viel los und durch etwas wenig Personal merkte man doch wie alles etwas länger ging, was bei All you can eat aber nicht das Problem ist. Es wurde sich dafür auch später entschuldigt. Alles in allem werden wir sicher mal wieder kommen. Grüße aus dem Schwarzwald

The food was delicious, but the service was poor. First, we were moved from our reserved table, then we had to wait forever for service, and our complaints were completely ignored. For example, the dish was missing peanuts. The answer was: you have to pay extra for them. No apology, no inquiry into whether everything was okay. It's a shame!

Ich hatte telefonisch für einen Samstagabend Plätze an der Running-Sushi-Theke reserviert. Bei unserer Ankunft wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass wir die Plätze nur für eine Stunde hätten – und das, obwohl das Restaurant zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht einmal zu einem Drittel besetzt war. Auch anderen Gästen wurde beim eintreffen das gleiche vermittelt. Es schien, als würde hier eine künstliche Knappheit an freien Plätzen erzeugt werden. Als wir das Lokal später verließen, war es immer noch nicht einmal zur Hälfte voll! Das Essen war leider eine große Enttäuschung. Sushi wurde von zwei Mitarbeitern (keine asiatische Herkunft) hergestellt, wobei der Reis in einen Automaten gefüllt wurde, dann kam eine fertige Reismatte auf einem Noriblatt heraus, die dann belegt und gerollt wurde. Der Geschmack des Sushi war eintönig und schwach – sie zerfielen beim Tunken in Sojasauce. Ausserdem wurden viele Teller mit richtig schräg und ungleichmässig geschnittenen Rollen präsentiert, welche wohl ein 5-Jähriger hätte gerader schneiden können. Auch wurden teilweise die Anschnitte/Ränder auf die Teller dazu gelegt. Es wurden hauptsächlich gleichaussehende Rollen mit Surimi, Lachs und Dosenthunfisch angeboten, während wir vergeblich auch nach frittierten oder anderen Varianten suchten. Auf Nachfrage wurde uns noch einmal ein kleines Tellerchen mit ein paar Scheiben Ingwer nachgeliefert, da diese genauso wie die Wasabipaste, nicht ausreichend vorhanden waren. Über einen Zeitraum von etwa 20 Minuten fuhren ausschließlich die gleichen, wenigen Teller auf dem Band umher, die keiner haben wollte. In dieser Zeit verschwanden die Mitarbeiter in der (schmuddeligen) Küche, um eine Pause zu machen und selbst eine Mahlzeit zu sich zu nehmen. Als sie nach dieser Pause wieder an die Arbeit gingen, hatten wir aber unseren Appetit verloren. Die Atmosphäre im Lokal war ebenfalls enttäuschend: Es herrschte eine Stille, ohne typische japanische Musik oder eine angenehme Stimmung. Die Sushi-Mitarbeiter hatten dann während der Arbeit Ohrstöpsel im Ohr und schauten nebenher auf ihre Handys. Einziger Hinweis auf das Thema Asien war eine asiatische Mitarbeiterin, die vermutlich als Symbol für die Authentizität des Sushi Lokals dienen soll. Insgesamt war es eine Enttäuschung und das Geld definitiv nicht wert. Wir werden dieses Restaurant nicht wieder besuchen.

I've been coming here more or less regularly for about 10 years now, taking takeout. The sushi is ALWAYS excellent, top quality and beautifully presented, and the staff is always friendly and smiling. Here's to the next 10 years!
