Food tasty and inexpensive. Service seems overwhelmed, even though there isn't much going on at lunchtime

Been here a few times now. The food usually tastes good, the staff is quick, friendly and quick. Optionally you can sit outside, so it was a bit of a drag. Inside it smelled very strongly of food, a little airing out every now and then would be good. To get to the toilet you walk past the counter where there is always a lot of hustle and bustle.

Yesterday we had the all you can eat “buffet”. So you can't exactly call it a buffet. You have a tray and can use it to place your order (both drinks and food). In total you can order 10 so-called rounds with 5 items per round and per person. Drinks are excluded. I think the concept is very good and it's fun to share food with your friends. The food was very tasty and there is a large selection of sushi, dumplings, fish and meat as well as a small selection of "dessert" (-> ice cream). In my opinion the drinks are very expensive. Overall it was a great evening and a lot of fun. Will definitely go there again.

This was our second time at Unkai and both times we had the all you can eat menu and both times we were extremely satisfied. The food is very tasty, whether sushi, dumplings or grilled shrimp. The service is great, the food is brought to the table very quickly and the employees are always friendly and courteous. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful restaurant with lovely decor and friendly staff. The food was incredible. The miso soup hit the spot and the sushi was amazing. Very clean and spacious environment. Would recommend.

Simply outstanding! It's a shame we live so far away. The sushi was perfect. The entrecôte and a huge T-bon steak prepared especially for us were simply delicious, cooked to perfection (we wanted it medium rare), which is something you often don't even get in steak restaurants. All of this is included in the all u can eat price. What you should probably know beforehand is that you can choose 5 dishes per person every 15 minutes via a tablet. If fewer were ordered, the rest will “forfeit” and the 15 minute timer will still start.

The fried sushis in particular were very delicious and warm. The gyoza, which you could order as a starter for €4, was also very tasty. We were at Unkai for the first time today. And unfortunately we have to say, we won't be coming back. The meat and fish dishes were unfortunately very unimaginative. The sushi was absolutely unattractively prepared and very tasteless!!! For dessert there is ice cream, nothing else and the ice cream really couldn't be more artificial!

Well... Very expensive, the "all you can eat" is the same principle as at oishi, you can order 10 rounds of 5 portions and costs just under 34 euros p.p., without drinks. A water 0.7 simply costs 6 euros. The food itself was good to okay, nothing more than that is just cheap sushi and not made by a sushi master. Some of the waitresses were underground and didn't know where to go. For us, things were missing on some laps or there were too many on the plates. The restaurant was very busy on a Wednesday evening. The air conditioning was running at full blast and it was far too cold. The air conditioning also leaks like a gravel truck.

This was my first time at the restaurant and my friend and sister's second. The place is very beautiful and attractive in terms of decoration. At first glance, you get a very good impression of the place. The service was not good, although a couple of guys were friendly, they took a long time to serve us and made a couple of mistakes. The staff was running around the restaurant, a lot of stress was transmitted during the service. Perhaps there is a lack of training for the team or direct management of how to provide the service. The internal chaos was noticeable, which should not be noticeable. As for the level of food, quite average. Nothing spectacular or bad. Intermediate. The sushi was poorly tightened, loose, and when you ate it, it fell apart immediately. Very basic dishes. There was also a lot of chaos in the kitchen, which did not look completely orderly and clean. Price vs quality, I think it's worth it only if you have an empty stomach and plenty of space, and you don't want to eat something high quality. The dessert is quite basic, but still delicious. We paid €34 for all you can eat + €4.50 for a Schorle juice per person. Practically €40. In the end, clearly we couldn't eat everything and we couldn't take it home, which is understandable, but the last time my relative went, they did let her bring the food. It's a shame that all of that is going to waste. However, the background is understood. In my experience, I wouldn't repeat it. I think for that money I can eat less, but better.

A pleasant experience in an incredible environment with super friendly and fast staff.

The all-you-can-eat menu is reasonably priced at around €30, but unfortunately the food is only partially convincing. The sushi is rather mediocre and monotonous in selection. Unfortunately, the quality of the tuna sushi in particular is disappointing. The noodles are probably the highlight. Please avoid the steak, it is very tough. The noodles are a mystery to me. Instead of Asian noodles, we were served spaghetti with Asian (?) spices. I'm not entirely sure, but it was definitely spaghetti and not Asian noodles. It should also be mentioned that the images on the tablet unfortunately have nothing to do with reality. The service is ok, not really friendly but very fast. Ambience also ok, but nothing special. We weren't disappointed after the visit, but wouldn't go again. Unfortunately, this restaurant is not suitable at all for lovers of Asian cuisine.

Ordered sushi portions several times, the fish was always delivered warm. The food is poorly seasoned, the service team picks up the plates without asking if you're ready. We ordered jasmine tea and bitter jasmine tea was delivered. All you can eat food at a great price, the food quality suffered enormously.

Staff is friendly, the food is fresh. We often order sushi to pick up, the quality and taste are great! But there have also been worse days with sushi, but in any case it was worlds better than the competitor at the freight station!

While the sushi seemed high quality and tasted good, the rest was rather disappointing. Many plates simply didn't look like they did on the tablet. The pink entrecote with mashed potatoes, for example, was a well-done piece with a fat crust, completely without mashed potatoes. Drinks overpriced, that's annoying. In addition, we often had to wait a long time and orders never arrived at the same time. It's a shame, because the ambience was actually good. However, the waitresses were wearing inconsistent street clothes, which seemed unprofessional. I didn’t understand what “fusion” meant here either.

More for uncritical people who are easily satisfied. I have eaten in better sushi restaurants for the same money. Sushi had little taste. Fish not of the highest quality. Crockery had pieces missing everywhere (every plate) and sofa needs to be replaced.

We've been here five times now and will continue to keep coming back. Really enjoy the concept of all you can eat sushi. It allows you to try everything. The quality of the fish is good, you can really tell by the taste of the salmon avocado hand roll. Some of our other favourites are the tuna nigiri, custard bun, and green tea and lychee ice cream. We wouldn't recommend the crunchy gold roll or any of the rolls that are deep fried around. They didn't taste much like anything and were pretty heavy. I also wouldn't go to heavy on the side dishes since they fill you up a lot. Unfortunately the drinks we got (yuzu gin cocktail and mango coconut drink) were quite pricey at 10€ each. Would not get it again. The atmosphere is always nice and we usually make a reservation before we go so we don't have to wait to be seated.

Unfortunately, it's not nearly as good as it used to be. Quantity doesn't equal class. I've been coming here for a few years and always eat a la carte. There was exactly one mini piece of mango in the four rolls of Salmon Lover. The food was also very carelessly prepared. The eye eats too. This also applies to the dishes used. Only the service was quick.

Disappointing restaurant in Ramot!!! Substandard service, the waiters don't understand what you want and you have to ask for everything several times. The fish is indeed fresh but the sushi looks terrible. A disappointing experience at the highest level and I forgot to mention that there is no air in the restaurant and they are not ready to open the air conditioner on the grounds that the air conditioners are not working.

I was looking for a location for my birthday and farewell party. The reviews were crucial for me. The presentation of the site is very promising. If you order All You Can Eat like me and didn't grow up in the digital age, the ordering system is pure stress. Ordering in peace was no longer possible with 10 people. The quality of the sushi were average. The entrecote, I've had better quality on the table. Otherwise I was very positively surprised by the taste of some of the bites. Conclusion: If I'm going to eat in peace with friends, not here. Once again positive feedback to the website. The site made a very positive impression on me, which unfortunately didn't come true in the end.

Very tasty food and good service.

We ordered a la card sushi menu. I got a warm beer with ice cubes in the glas...? Do they own a fridge? Several times we got food that we did NOT ordered delivered to our table. Waited patiently 40 min for our food to arrive. I think for 30 + Euro per plate you can expect better quality. I have eaten better supermarket sushi at a lower price. If you want quantity: go for this restaurant. If you want quality: avoid it.

Do NOT order a delivery on this site. I made my order today at 20:06 (it said it would take between 25 and 50 minutes). Then it said it would be delivered at 21:36, and it’s 21:52 now and I’m still waiting. The guy at the hotel call them and they said they’re still waiting for a driver.

The ambience in the restaurant is a very elegant and beautiful atmosphere. The food is also beautifully prepared and served in a variety of ways. The food is very tasty and also inexpensive. Unfortunately, there are occasional difficulties with communication because only a few people speak German and English doesn't always work properly.

! Request to pay a fine - trying is forbidden! We were informed at the beginning that you were not allowed to eat with other guests at the table who had ordered the all-you-can-eat menu if you ordered from the menu yourself - that's understandable. I tried an (!!!) inside out roll at a friend's house with the menu and was asked to pay a fine when paying. The waitress said she would be so accommodating by rounding up €21.00 to €30.00 and not giving me a complete all-you-can menu. 33€ to be charged. That simply does not work! I pointed out that this was not okay and was unfortunately too perplexed to refuse the “fine payment”. It seems to be forbidden to try - what's the point of that?

We went for lunch, a la carte and not all you can eat. The food was good, unfortunately the ambience and cleanliness were not that good. The menu card was past its best, the floor was sticky and the general cleanliness was suboptimal... All the dishes were chipped...

It's a shame, it's always been the top address for sushi in Freiburg. But slowly you notice that the quality and service are steadily decreasing due to the all-you-can-eat. Been here about every 6 weeks and the last two times we were always a little more disappointed. As a small example: the rolls are becoming increasingly fatter and wider cut, which means they no longer look appealing, are less edible and you get more and more of a fast food feeling.

Food was good. All u can eat for 33 euros (2024 / without drinks). Food arrives very quickly. Next time no AYCE, I'd rather order individually from the menu... er, sorry Ipad. Lots of service people. Be sure to reserve. Absolute recommendation.

Little selection of warm dishes and desserts, service friendly but don't understand German. Only sushi came to the table quite quickly, the warm dishes didn't come at all or after a long wait.

As always, quality is excellent the best all you can eat sushi in Freiburg. The price is justified by the taste and the size of the portions. But drinks are a bit expensive in comparison.

Unfortunately very disappointed with the quality. Sometimes dishes were brought twice or not at all. Raw meat, completely burnt vegetables or sushi with half the "filling" because the sushi roll was not turned correctly. The staff didn't speak any German and therefore there wasn't really any service. Employees “serve” you while you have Airpods in your ears. The price is simply too expensive for such little quality/service...

Unfortunately, Ambiente only received 3 points from me. This is due to the noise and the relatively close tables.

The food was initially much better. Fish and meat no longer seem to be of really high quality and the way it is prepared is sometimes quite careless. Unfortunately, everything you ordered almost never arrives. Reservations also sometimes look a bit difficult. Even if you have a reservation, you may not be able to get a seat in the evening because of incorrect planning or no planning at all (I've never seen a "Reserved" sign on a table). The atmosphere itself is actually quite nice. However, with more visitors it quickly becomes noisy, the kitchen is clearly audible and the furniture is now clearly used. All in all, it's unfortunately very reminiscent of all the Oishiis. The only thing that sets it apart is the better selection of food. Unfortunately, you can tell that the quality has simply decreased significantly since the beginning.

The quality of the food was extremely poor; either only parts of the order came or something was wrong. The beef fillet sushi was rice with raw minced meat, after a complaint it was said that it had been a mistake on the part of the kitchen. The food did not resemble the pictures on the restaurant's website or iPad in any way, and it didn't taste good. Do not recommend it under any circumstances.

Delicious food, if you don't eat a lot it is worth going for the a la carte instead of the all you can eat. Most of the staff are cheerful and friendly, with a few exceptions. However, it was difficult to get the attention of the staff to place an additional order or ask for the bill. But definitely recommended!

Rarely have I experienced such a disappointing visit to a restaurant. The service was unfriendly, the food was subpar (my last to-go sushi from Rewe tasted better), the price/performance ratio was absolutely not right at all. I could write a long text about what was bad, but I think the photo of the "Inside-Out Rolls" sums it up quite well.

We were in this restaurant 3 times. The first time the concept of “all you can eat” didn’t exist. The food there was good. It seems to me that the cooking was really fresh and by experts. Unfortunately, the new concept is a disaster. No taste, loveless, ready-made food and not fresh. The rice and fried noodles are inedible. The quality is extremely poor. The sushi is somehow wrapped up and tasteless. The price-performance ratio here is lousy and not justified. We will no longer visit Unkai. The motto is mass instead of class. Quantity instead of quality. Ambience is loud and busy. The staff is generally nice, but unfortunately often overwhelmed. No recommendation!

Let's be honest guys - the chopsticks weren't the same size? The salmon felt so uncomfortable that it wanted to get out of the role. The mango maki was so broken and the rice was so old that I'm pretty sure it was from the lunch buffet. Service was terrible and rude. You felt unwanted just because you didn't want to order all you can eat. The waitress simply put the food and drinks on the table without comment. We didn't even know what was non-alcoholic or not. What if one of us was dry and accidentally took a sip of alcohol? The menus were scrawled with bullets if you weren't allowed to order something. I have to admit, I never post a review, but wow. Never again - I don't understand the other reviews either. Uh! And half of what I ordered wasn't even brought. Great people ✨👌 you did a great job. The only good thing was actually the decoration.
