Love Mai Garden and have been a regular customer for years. It has become more and more expensive in recent years, but where not. The sushi menu is very varied but the Vietnamese menu is also full of delicacies!

There is nothing wrong with this breakfast restaurant. Very friendly service, delicious breakfast at a very good price-performance ratio. We also really liked the atmosphere and there is free WiFi. There is a sign indicating this, you don't have to ask specifically. Always my pleasure!

Best sushi restaurant in Freiburg

Apparently we also had a day when no one was in the mood anymore. The service was more than good and there was a discussion at the end because a main course was missing. Has wit. The food was otherwise decent and adequate. It's a shame if the service messes it up. And yes, more light for the tables so that you can read the menu properly and then look at what you have got.

Great (albeit quite expensive) lunch (dishes between €10 - €14 including a small starter, drinks extra), very cozy in the garden in summer despite the main street next to it. Had Vietnamese glass noodles with herbs and fried beef (bun bo). Service a bit slow but friendly.

The food was ok...nothing more, nothing less! Noodles were lukewarm, gyozas and spring rolls were warmed up in the deep fryer and not fresh! The service is terrible...you feel more like a burden than a guest!

However, points are deducted when it comes to ambience and service, as the interior is unfortunately much too loud and the outside appearance could be improved a bit. Me and my girlfriend were there for lunch today. Actually the restaurant has a good atmosphere and also good food. Unfortunately the food today was a. too small a portion b. had no taste. The waiter asked if everything was OK. I did I told the truth that the food used to be better, but unfortunately not today. He said that the chef had a break and that's why the food wasn't that good. He also apologized to us in a friendly manner, behaved professionally and brought us ice cream from the house .Thanks for that. Unfortunately, the waitress at the end who brought the bill ruined all the effort of the other nice waiter. Because she behaved super unfriendly towards us in the end. She “served” us with the unfriendly facial expressions, unfriendly conversation and tone. She didn't even say thank you to us. I used to work in service in a restaurant myself. No matter which customers were there, saying thank you and goodbye is actually the basis and professionalism. We just answered your question honestly and you offered the ice cream yourself , we didn't ask for it. There was no reason for her to behave like that with us. The waitress should learn better from the other young man how to behave when complaining from customers.

Hello everyone We were eating in a group of 10 people on a Monday evening. We had reserved beforehand. I think that you can always spontaneously find a place for two people The entrance is phenomenal. The small outdoor area looked nice in the dark. Inside is a mix of decorative styles. The fixed decorative elements are complemented by terrible origami flowers. In between, it is February, there are various Christmas decorations in the flower arrangements. We are greeted warmly and shown to the place, where several greasy, unkempt and smelly menus await us. The selection is huge. The homemade iced teas are delicious and an eye-catcher. The food is delicious. Unfortunately, our group's meal is delayed, so we can't start together. The service is nice. There was an older lady whose facial expressions were very unfriendly. Can you go there? Stay healthy!

Sehr lecker und köstlich! Bisher bestes Sushi der Stadt. Der Service könnte noch etwas besser sein, war aber auch viel los. Das Ambiente war gepflegt und sauber, leider aber nicht sehr gemütlich. Dies ist aber den kleinen Räumlichkeiten und der Enge geschuldet. Weiter so!!!

War schon länger nicht mehr hier,die Qualität des Essens und der Service sind noch genau so gut wie früher. Das Ambiente hat sich geändert und das ist Geschmackssache 😉

Aufgrund der guten Rezessionen haben wir uns für dieses Restaurant entschieden. Der erste Eindruck war gut. Eine Bedienung war sehr unfreundlich aber alle anderen haben zunächst einen positiven Eindruck hinterlassen. Wir haben uns für ein 5 Gänge Menü entschieden. Die ersten Gänge kamen Recht schnell und es sah auch alles schön angerichtet und frisch aus...umso später es wurde so schlechter wurde der Service. Wir saßen ewig vor leeren Gläsern und wurden nicht einmal gefragt ob wir nochmal was bestellen möchten...von Gang zu Gang verging immer mehr Zeit...auf unser Dessert haben wir über 50 min gewartet nachdem wir vorher mehrmals nachgefragt hatten... Kurz gesagt...das beste Lokal und die besten Köche können sich noch so viel Mühe geben wenn der Service einfach schlecht ist.

Pardon my French 😅, I prefer not to be negative, but my experience was absolute utter garbage and I’m hoping it stops other wasting their time. Absolutely do not recommend. Confusing as it was super busy. Pho was probably the worst Ive had out of over a hundred internationally. My friend ordered satay chicken and it was as if the meat (beef and chicken) was fake/reformed/processed. I had stomach cramps for most of the night afterwards. Service was so slow and when they did come they were blunt and borderline rude, maybe a German thing, but they even charged for tap water?!..

Great food (especially the sushi) and quick preparation. The service is not really acceptable even by german standards. Most of the staff is pretty rude and unwelcoming. But because the food is so good I keep on going here.

Tolles Ambiente. Sehr schneller Service. Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Nicht alle sprechen perfekt Deutsch aber es ist ja auch kein Deutsches Restaurant. Daher absolut kein Problem. Das Lokal scheint sehr sauber vorallem auch die Toiletten. Ich empfehle einen Tisch hinten rechts. Wenn möglich nicht im Eingangsbereich. Da ist zu viel Laufkundschaft.

Das Essen war bei etlichen Besuchen jedes Mal vorzüglich. Der Service ist respektvoll, zuvorkommend und freundlich. Man wird selbst bei vollem Hause schnell bedient. Besonders beim mittagstisch, der bis 16 Uhr geht kann man preiswert genießen. Große Empfehlung das mal selbst zu probieren!

Ocena byłaby wyższa, gdyż po pierwszej wizycie kilka tygodni temu byliśmy zachwyceni. W ten weekend niestety wszystko smakowało inaczej. Jedzenie nie było złe, ale chyba po prostu inny kucharz był na zmianie. Obsługiwała nas też inna Pani i nie było już tak sympatycznie jak miesiąc temu. Mimo wszystko polecam knajpkę szczególnie miłośnikom suschi. Do godziny 17 można dostać mega talerz w super cenie.

Das Mai Garden ist eigentlich ein Thai Restaurant in der großen Karte gibt es aber von Sushi bis Ente süss sauer alles aus dem asiatischen Essensbereich. Das Sushi wird immer Top frisch zubereitet ist aber manchmal proportional unausgewogen wobei es mir dann manchmal etwas zuviel Fisch für den Reis war. Die Frühlingsrollen mit Fleisch war genau wie die Ente etwas zu trocken. Das Restaurant könnte eine Modernisierung vertragen. Parkplätze sind in der Umgebung Mangelware und bis 19 Ihr gebührenpflichtig.

Essen ist sehr gut. Einen Stern Abzug wegen dem teilweise unfreundlichen Service…
