We had the six-course menu. Everything was superbly cooked, seasoned, and presented. Excellent value for money. Thank you very much!

The food tastes great and the service in the restaurant is good. However, if you try to order for a specific time, nothing works at all. We had to wait 20 minutes after clearly communicating the time well in advance. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time this has gone wrong... We received the food without an apology or any kind of complimentary treat. It was a bit disappointing.

I'm really sorry, but our visit to this restaurant was a disappointment! :( The food was only mediocre – the pho bo was unfortunately completely tasteless and bland, and the kimchi had a very strange, almost soapy taste. I love Vietnamese and Korean cuisine, but this was unfortunately far from either of those. The service was also poor: We had to wait over an hour for our food, even though the table next to us, which arrived much later, was served earlier. Simple questions or requests (for example, whether we could have fresh chili instead of sriracha) were either ignored at all or promised but then not acted upon. It felt as if the staff were annoyed or overwhelmed. In the end, the bill of around €70 was really not justified for what was offered. Overall, a disappointing experience – both in terms of food and service. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

We stood at the entrance in front of the counter for 10 minutes. Three employees walked around us several times, no greeting, no "Wait, we'll be right with you." They simply ignored us, as if we were invisible! It's also worth mentioning that all three were clearing tables and weren't serving at the time, so you could tell they were stressed or had just brought food to the table. It's just a shame for a place like this.

The food at Mai Garden is simply outstanding! The dishes are freshly prepared, aromatic, and authentic. I was particularly impressed by the sushi and Vietnamese specialties.

It simply makes no sense to call ahead to reserve a table. Your requests are either not noted or ignored. When making a reservation, you're not even asked for a phone number. And when you arrive at the restaurant, there's no list showing your name and the number of people. So, reservations are meaningless!!! You get one of the tables that the staff thinks is convenient. The food is so-so. It's incomprehensible that there are reviews that rate the sushi here as very good. The fatty salmon is completely overrated. At these prices, you can't possibly get good sushi. They serve fast Asian cuisine. For reasonable and good sushi, you should visit Japanese restaurants. The higher prices are justified there, and the quality is worth the money.

They serve lunch there Monday through Saturday. It's super delicious, very affordable, and sitting in the garden is a real highlight.

Delicious vegetarian sushi. It could have been rolled a bit better, though, especially the maki. These are never properly sealed, so half of them fall out when you separate them. Service was nice, but the prices could be a bit more customer-friendly, rather than just carrying out, clearing, and paying. It's nice to sit on the terrace.

For the price (22-25€ per main course) it is not good enough, quality more like snack bar level at 10 to 15€

The worst poh bo I've ever eaten. The broth was absolutely tasteless. The herbs and sprouts were already in the poh bo, not added separately. The amount of herbs could be described as a homeopathic addition. The bottle of hot sauce was completely clogged, making it impossible to use. The meat was tough and stringy. The service is emotionless, and feedback is simply ignored. You can tell they don't need it anymore. Oh, and at the end, they even give you fortune cookies... what nonsense.

5 stars – my culinary home port! Maigarden is and remains my absolute favorite Asian restaurant! The sushi? A dream – fresh, lovingly prepared and tasted at Champions League level. But the warm Asian dishes are also a feast every time: crispy, aromatic, perfectly seasoned. Added to this is the super-friendly service and an atmosphere that just makes you feel good. Anyone who doesn't roll out of here happy has done something wrong! Unreserved recommendation – I’ll always be happy to come back ❤️

The food was delicious, but the service was poor. First, we were moved from our reserved table, then we had to wait forever for service, and our complaints were completely ignored. For example, the dish was missing peanuts. The answer was: you have to pay extra for them. No apology, no inquiry into whether everything was okay. It's a shame!

Das Mittagessen war bis auf die vegetarische Gericht gut - diese war sehr fad. Leider waren wir sehr enttäuscht vom Dessert- lt. Speisekarten sollten 3 Kugel Reis Eis angerichtet sein - es waren nur 2 Kugeln, als wir nachgefragt haben wurde uns sehr unfreundlich mitgeteilt, dass das ein Druckfehler in der Karte sein und es hätte sich noch kein anderer Gast bisher beschwert, dass es nur 2 Kugeln sind. Leider haben wir auch über 25 Min. auf unser 2 tes Getränk warten müssen - diese stand gerichtet vorne an der Theke - die Eiswürfel haben unser Apreol sehr gewässert..

The service was friendly, the drinks looked nice and tasted good, but they were a little too sweet for their description. I ordered sushi. My first sushi was soggy, the rice had the consistency of mud. However, that only affected the maki sushi, in general they tasted much less good than the other sushi... Well, after about an hour and a half, I was kneeling in front of the toilet bowl and vomiting my heart out. Before that, I was plagued by heartburn-like pain in my stomach area. Conclusion: Do not order vegetarian sushi dishes from Mai Garden.

One of the best Asian restaurants in the city, as long as you don't want run-of-the-mill curry dishes or fried rice or the like. The price is a little higher, but the quality is correspondingly good. Sushi is also highly recommended!

Asian food with style. Significantly more expensive than the usual sushi/chinese/thai but definitely worth every penny. Very good food, a wide range of different regions (from Vietnamese to Korean to Japanese sushi) and a well-kept but relaxed atmosphere.

The food is fine, but when you pay, you pay for the whole experience, and here, even if you make a reservation 2 weeks early, they keep you waiting in line for 30 minutes, and when is your turn (I don't know if it was the owner or the manager, but it was the boss, the only one without a uniform) she attend you just so you leave quickly. They sit you to eat at tables that are in the hallway next to the line of people waiting, where there is no more space, and at the end she throw the fortune cookies on the table. The food is really good, but paying for that experience is not worth it. I understand that she might be stressed because it's the weekend and because she gave reservations for more than they could really handle, but that's not my problem.

Me personally I did not enjoy the food. I expected Asian food. Instead I got a piece of stake (well done.... Which I did not want it that way). And the taste was not so good.

The location in the tower is mega. The warm sushi is also unbeatable. The plated meals also taste very good. Unfortunately the service is not good. The staff are friendly but we waited 40 minutes and then received our starter before our drink. The dishes sometimes arrived 15 minutes later and unfortunately we weren't even asked if we liked the food or if we wanted to drink again. Hence the recommendation to go, but not on weekend evenings when the store is packed.

Cheap lunch menu with menus. In the listed Keppler Tower, shaded terrace, friendly service. Lunch menus at acceptable prices. My photos show soup or a vegetarian starter. For the main course we also chose a vegetarian dish or meat with vegetables, wholesome and tasty! Cheap: directly at the Tennenbacherstraße tram stop, it goes via the Bertoldsbrunnen and the main train station in the direction of Zähringen.

Sushi was not good at all compared to Waldkirch. Poorly rolled, always opened. Service was bad. Fire was thrown forever until it was cleared away. Waited forever for payment even though the shop was almost empty... Tuna nigiri was totally tough. I've never experienced anything like that. The inside out rolls were not good. In every piece and tail piece of shrimp... Kind of disappointing.

Best sushi restaurant in Freiburg

Apparently we also had a day when no one was in the mood anymore. The service was more than good and there was a discussion at the end because a main course was missing. Has wit. The food was otherwise decent and adequate. It's a shame if the service messes it up. And yes, more light for the tables so that you can read the menu properly and then look at what you have got.

Unfortunately the chef didn't have a good day yesterday. We always eat salmon sushi. Otherwise they are always very satisfied. Today the rice was only in small rolls and the salmon slice was much thinner and smaller than usual. Even the plate didn't have the usual shape. We felt like we were in another restaurant.
