Single beds are wider than the standard 90cm width beds, and very comfortable!

Nice hotel, a 15-minute walk from the center of Giessen, with its own restaurant. Very friendly staff. The rooms are large and clean.

Great - we'll be back! Very nice and friendly employees. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. The room was nice and big and clean. There was a walk-in shower, which was very pleasant. The room was clean and there was enough storage space for luggage (we had already done so elsewhere). We got to the city center in 4 minutes by bus line 2. The rooms are not new in design, but are in good condition and very well maintained. There was carpet in the room, which could be a problem for allergy sufferers. Our room had a minibar, air conditioning and flat screen. We also had a nice balcony. The cleaner was very polite and nice in the morning. In the morning it was very crowded at breakfast, but we managed to get a seat and were able to enjoy the varied breakfast. The gentleman at check-out was also very nice and gave us tips about the city. We were absolutely impressed by the staff, room size and cleanliness and it won't be our last visit.

Booked through Booking and got a room that had its best days behind it and which I found to be shabby. Room number 116. No air conditioning - ok, the world isn't ending at the moment. Smelled a bit musty - it's due to the pretty old carpet - ok, so ventilate it well It would have been nice to tilt a window before the guest arrives. In the bathroom the toilet roll holder was completely loose - since I didn't have an Inbuchs to hand, I tightened the small screw to fix it as best I could. When showering, the sealing lip on the left side of the shower door is missing - the doors are at different heights - so unfortunately the bathroom flooded when showering. In the room under the desk or under the refrigerator, the carpet needs a dusting - the same applies to the area behind the door. Maybe this needs to be renovated... Located on a very busy main road into the city center and therefore quite loud. The hotel is by no means bad, fulfilled However, the reasons mentioned do not reflect my claim to accommodation. It's a 20 minute walk into town, so not an issue. The breakfast was ok - everything was pretty average, but OK. The scrambled eggs were very tasty. The staff friendly and helpful. Reaction to your answer: I'm reducing my rating to the minimum because you're telling untruths (and that annoys me immensely). It would have been professional if you had responded professionally and dealt with the criticism objectively. 1. I booked a hotel room on Booking, that's right. As an end user, how am I supposed to know that this is your "lower category"? Unfortunately, the phrase “You are currently booking our worst room” is not displayed / only “the last room” (probably in the truest sense of the word. 2. You talk about goodwill and price reductions Now that shoots the bird. I didn't voice my complaints at all and wrote my review from home the following day. By the way, this can be proven (payment receipt on October 11th and review entry one day later! You are probably confusing me with another guest who apparently didn't feel quite as comfortable either. There was therefore NO conversation with any colleague or anything like that. 3. You say that I told you in advance about my special wishes. That is simply a lie. There was NO contact in advance (booking via Booking). If in doubt, you could certainly prove that I contacted you before your arrival AND that I made additional requests. I would really like to see the booking news that should prove this (I didn't have any). For the sake of peace, I assume here that you are simply confusing me with another guest who apparently had the same problems?!?!? 4. To shorten the whole thing: Please read my review carefully, I didn't describe the walk as a problem, but purely as a fact for future guests. I am deeply disappointed that you spread untruths and seem unable to deal with only constructive criticism in any way. I also didn't write that it was dirty, but that it could be renovated again. In my world this is a world away from your words. Mentioning the noise of the street is also intended to help future guests assess it as a whole - nothing more, nothing less. Once again I ask you to read my review CORRECTLY and not to assume or interpret anything. And please stick to the truth. If you confuse me with another guest, I will gladly accept your apology. But unfortunately I can't let untruths stand...

Service in the restaurant was great, the food was very good. The ambience in the restaurant is more typical of a hotel restaurant, but overall absolutely recommended.

Shabby but clean. Lots of little things that don't fit: Broken cup in the room, skirting board between bathroom and room missing, toilet brush stuck firmly in container, ashtray on the balcony not clean, sockets dirty, etc. Breakfast: very manageable, little choice, not even cooked ham available. Instead salmon substitute. Scrambled eggs delicious. Generally very small selection of rolls too. Looked like they were trying to save money. The garage and parking spaces are very limited and narrow. Extremely little in relation to the number of rooms. All in all okay, but the little things add up.

We stayed at this hotel at the weekend. Unfortunately we didn't feel very comfortable. - First of all we were given a room that was warm like a sauna at 30 degrees. We then looked for the air conditioning, but there is no air conditioning in the standard room (we paid 130 euros). At least we got a cooler room. That was positive. - The room didn't seem very clean, dusty and musty (from the drain to the bed linen), the carpet etc. - There were two empty water bottles in the minibar, presumably from the previous guests, which shows that the minibar was not checked - similar to the accessories set in the bathroom, which was incomplete. - We asked the day before what time we had to leave the room the next day and were told: 12 p.m. The next morning the phone rang at 11am and a not very friendly gentleman told us to leave the room. We explained that we had been told 12 o'clock and had prepared for it. We were therefore allowed to check out at 12 p.m. The gentleman sat at the front desk when checking out and was extremely rude, even though we were friendly the entire time. A friendly employee to say goodbye might have balanced out the overall impression rather than strengthening it.

The Hotel 'Tandreas' has given me numerous short stays over the past few months, which have always been pleasant. The extremely courteous and friendly staff and the well-kept rooms, which are also very functional and tastefully furnished, contributed to this. The breakfast is ok. Thank you again!

Very good location for the cultural summer. The absolute highlight was Mr. C.Schmidt at reception - he was super helpful and personable! The rooms are very clean and the bed is comfortable.

Rooms are nice and spacious, the furniture is old but well maintained. Staff always friendly and attentive. Was a nice stay

They wanted to charge me with nonexisting payment for months. Lied to me that they could not take money from my card and room is not paid. I was getting numerous mails even though I had invoice and gave them card number. Finally after proof from bank I think they left me alone. But I did not receive any "sorry" nor confirmation that everything is paid and there is no debt! Oh and parking is very small.

Beautiful, modern hotel with a feel-good character. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast also very good. Parking was free in the underground car park or at the house. All in all, we really liked it, except for the loudness of the busy Licherstr in the morning. Then the window was closed and it was fine. We had the “Liebig” suite with a balcony. The city can also be easily reached on foot.

We spontaneously searched and found this hotel with this funny name online. A very pleasant, clean hotel with bright rooms. The bathroom has a shower, accessories are available and hygiene products can be bought at the reception, which is also open at night. Free water is provided and a kettle is available in the room for tea and coffee - which is also available there. The only drawback is the parking situation, we had to drive 4 laps around the square - at midnight - before we found a place nearby. All in all, top service and super friendly staff and a generous breakfast. Gladly again!

Very cute hotel stayed four nights for a business trip. Was very quiet, had second floor with balcony. Some sites say it has AC, but the AC is a giant fan…I didn’t need it but just FYI if you are traveling in summer. Bedding could use a little upgrading with some newer pillows and covers; one was completely lumpy, one was feather and just went flat, then I asked for another and they gave me this weird tiny foam one. Ended up with a sore neck while I was staying. Mattress was comfortable. The breakfast is very good with nice selection of hot and cold items and very nice coffee machine. Direct drop off from main train station with the bus if you’re coming from Frankfurt. I will definitely come back again if I am in Giessen.

Hotel is clean. Nice people. Everything fits. The location is quite central. Bus stops in front of the hotel and runs every 15 minutes. Excellent. You can walk into the city in 15 minutes. Which isn't so great. Our room was right on the busy main street. Opening windows at night is not possible. Too loud. But otherwise everything was ok for the room price with breakfast.

Went there for dinner after a workshop. Every course was consistently delicious. The service was friendly and accommodating.

I was in Giessen for further training, the location to the center and Vitos was ideal. The breakfast was sufficient, the coffee was very good. The small eco room, which I already knew, was very clean. The staff responded immediately to our requests and were all very friendly. I would recommend the hotel to everyone.

The hotel is a real mystery to me, nothing fits. The reception is very friendly and quick, the lobby and the associated guest room appear very friendly and attractive. The rooms, on the other hand, exude the touch of the turn of the millennium, completely out of time. It wouldn't be a problem with the rooms if this deficit were at least well cared for, but it isn't. Everything seems a bit threadbare and worn, from the bed covers to the pillows to the towels. The toilet lid doesn't fit the toilet, a small towel serves as a bath mat. The bathroom does not appear to have been consistently cleaned, as evidenced by the many limescale marks. Not nice. The breakfast is a compilation of Metro standard products, nothing surprising, but it doesn't invite you to dinner either, as there is a sense of how disconnected the kitchen is from the region. What remained a mystery to me was the pot of scrambled eggs with nothing on top. The coffee machine is striking; of the four days I had breakfast there, there wasn't a morning without a failure. There is a trade fair in Hamburg where you could easily equip yourself with higher quality ingredients and equipment. I was happy to leave.

We enjoyed being regular guests at the "old" Tandreas and always felt very comfortable there, especially because of the very good combination of good food and very nice, matching wines. The Tandreas restaurant is now called “Ma Place” and we visited it again a few weeks ago. It is very pleasing that, in addition to the good and really nice service, a new head chef has now joined the team with a convincing introduction. Extremely tasty and back to the “old” level or at least very close ;-). Wisely, many of the previous Tandreas dishes have been adopted but (positively!) reinterpreted. The wine list also still lives in the old Tandreas spirit. Very nice! It probably won't be possible to avoid us coming back.

Sehr nettes und freundliches Personal. Das Hotel macht sofort einen guten Eindruck bei einchecken der sich bis ins Zimmer fortsetzt. Liegt direkt an der Hauptstraße ( etwas laut, dafür gibt es aber Zimmer nach hinten raus) Haltestelle für Bus direkt vor der Tür, keine 10 Minuten bis in die Stadt. Uns hat es gefallen, wir kommen wieder! MfG

Update: Die u.a. Rezension bezieht sich auf das alte Tandreas. Service sehr gut. Vor- und Hauptspeise entsprach der Erwartung. Dessert traumhaft lecker. Weinempfehlungen passend. Einzig das Ambiente, trotz tollem Mobiliar bleibt der Eindruck einer Hotelbar. Daher der Punktabzug.

Ganz klar ein „Fünfer“ cooles freundliches Personal. Guter Service und schnell und hilfsbereit. Essen unglaublich lecker. Absolute Empfehlung. Vor der Hauptspeise kleine Küchenempfehlung , absolut hochwertig und delikat. Preis ist dementsprechend aber fair. Zimmer sauber ordentlich und ruhig, gute Ausstattung. Direkt Buchung günstiger als booking.com Parkplatz kostenlos in Seitenstraße. Lage direkt und gut erreichbar. Sehr gerne wieder.

Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Abendessen im Restaurant war von der Qualität der Lebensmittel als auch deren Verarbeitung hervorragend. Einzig meine subjektive Ansicht, ich hatte ein Zimmer zur Straße, auch Nachts ist die Beleuchtung der Werbetafel in Betrieb, trotz Verdunklungsvorhang hatte ich einen Lichteinfall. Wurde durch Sauberkeit, Verpflegung und Freundlichkeit aber absolut wettgemacht.

Wir haben auf dem Schiffenberg gefeiert und im Tandreas übernachtet und gefrühstückt und waren sehr zufrieden mit den Zimmern und dem netten Service. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Tolles Hotel, netter Service, sehr bequeme Betten ( Matratzen nicht zu hart ), geräumig, allerdings mit Teppich ( für Allergiker nicht geeignet), topp Frühstücksbüffet, sogar für Veganer. Pluspunkt Kaffeemaschine, jeder konnte sich nach Belieben bedienen, egal ob Espresso, Latte Macciato oder Cappuccino. Kommen gerne wieder...auch wenn es an der gut befahrenen Strasse liegt. Empfehlung Zimmer hinten raus.

Ich hatte das Vergnügen, im wunderschönen Hotel Tandreas zu übernachten und ich kann es nur wärmstens empfehlen! Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend, und ich fühlte mich von Anfang an sehr willkommen. Die Zimmer waren geräumig, sauber und sehr komfortabel, mit allem, was man für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt benötigt. Das Hotel bietet auch eine Vielzahl von Annehmlichkeiten. Ich hatte das Glück, das Frühstück im Hotel zu genießen und es war unglaublich lecker und vielseitig. Die Lage des Hotels ist auch perfekt. Es befindet sich sehr zentral, so dass man leicht alles erkunden kann, was die Stadt zu bieten hat. Insgesamt war mein Aufenthalt im Hotel Tandreas absolut fantastisch und ich kann es jedem empfehlen, der nach einer komfortablen, freundlichen und erstklassigen Unterkunft sucht.

Wir haben das Hotel Tandreas für das Teamwochenende unseres Radsport-Bundesliga-Teams gebucht, und waren mehr als zufrieden! Unglaublich netter, flexibler und entgegenkommender Service, sehr gutes Frühstück mit veganen Alternativen und die Mädels haben sich rundum wohl und sehr willkommen gefühlt! Danke für alles!

Schönes Hotel. Einrichtung könnte modernisiert werden. Gediegene hochwertige 80er Einrichtung. In der Dusche leichte Schimmelbildung. Aber alles in allem haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Frühstück war top. Personal 5 Sterne!!!

Wir haben zum zweiten Mal im Hotel übernachtet und im Restaurant gegessen. Die Comfort Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet, sehr geräumig, ruhig und sauber. Sowohl das Frühstück als auch das Abendessen sind sehr fein und besonders. Das Personal ist außergewöhnlich freundlich.

Sehr schönes Hotel für einen kurzen Aufenthalt in Gießen. Direkt gegenüber der Universität (Rechtswissenschaften). Die Zimmer sind schallgeschützt, sodass kein Straßenlärm ins Zimmer gelangte. Gerne wieder! Sehr nettes und kompetentes Personal.

Zimmer großzügig jedoch gibt es Abzüge. Im Badezimmer war der WC Sitz defekt, die Reparatur sollte am Tag der Abreise erfolgen, beim Frühstück war das Rührei leider zu stark gesalzen und es wurden noch gefroren Brötchen serviert. Also Punkte die man schnell korrigieren kann. Größter Knackpunkt ist die Parkplatz Situation, leider zu wenige vorhanden. Wie wir von anderen Gästen erfahren haben hat der Besitzer vor kurzem gewechselt vor dem Wechsel sollte der Standard eine höhere Qualität haben. Das Personal sehr zuvor komment.

Very comfortable room, with balcony. TV, ensuite bathroom, hairdryer, shower, table chairs and desk. Warm room with a door to balcony and windows for ampel ventilation. The car park has limited covered space but has an additional few parking spaces externally. The staff were very friendly and helpful during the entire stay. The breakfast was very good with a choice of hot and cold food including cereals, fruits, meats, yoghurts, Actimel, cheese, pastries, conserves, coffee and tea, fruit juice and milk which was constantly tended to and was presented in a clean and hygienic way. The breakfast area was comfortable and the staff were respectful of peoples needs. Altogether a good hotel for work or leisure stays .

Ein ganz “normales” deutsches Restaurant, dass so auch schon in 1980ern hätte existieren können mit genau einem vegetarischem Gericht. Die Weinkarte ist relativ üppig, vor allem deutsche Weine. Es gibt eine Sektion “aus unserer Schatzkammer”, da stehen zwar ein paar schöne Sachen drauf, aber nach vier Versuchen bei denen keine der Flaschen gefunden wurde, nahm ich dann die etwas überteuerte Bolgheri Rosso Empfehlung (Einkauf ca 20€, Verkauf 75€).

Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiterin, welche auch außerhalb der Bar-Zeit für gute Verpflegung sorgt.

Wir waren dort essen und nicht im Hotel. Anders als zum Schluss unter den vorherigen Besitzern hat es mir wieder sehr gut gefallen. Ich fand das Essen richtig gut und auch den Service freundlich und hilfreich. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
