We ate there spontaneously today, highly recommended. I have to thank the super nice and courteous service once again, something that doesn't happen often these days. There was the long-running favorite Currywurst, I can only recommend it to every fan of Currywurst - it's simply delicious. The prices are absolutely ok for the size of the portions, and there is also lunch for those on a budget. It's very comfortable to sit at the market and there are also great parking options. All in all, absolutely recommended, keep it up.

I am very pleasantly surprised, great service, very tasty food, great beer. I recommend it to everyone, even the most picky ones. 🤗

I've eaten there very often. It was mostly really good and the service too. The last meal I had was sirloin steak. I expected one piece as a whole. I got 3 small end pieces, totally full of sinew and impossible to enjoy. They were briefly fried and jumped off the plate almost alive. The skirt steak was ordered medium fried. I complained about my food. It was brought into the kitchen and given back after a short while. It was thrown into the deep fryer. An absolute no go. The fryer fat stuck to the tongue and lips. Just disgusting. It also smelled like chip fat. The plate was swimming with grease. I objected again. Then I was hit on pretty badly. That there is something wrong with the deep fryer. That a sirloin steak must be raw, otherwise it will be dry. I didn't want it well done, I wanted it medium. The chef probably can't do that. I didn't eat the food because the fried potatoes were also dripping with fat. Half of the salad was missing. What I found macabre was that I had to pay for the meal in full. Tiny end pieces, stringy, inedible and raw. The waiter got really cheeky when I told him that it would be the last time I ate there. The answer came, bad luck. You can't beat it when it comes to cheekiness

We spent the night in Glückstadt in our motorhome and had dinner here in the evening. It was great! The food was delicious, of course we had matjes (with crispy fried potatoes 🤌), the service was attentive and it was great to sit on the terrace. We loved it so much that we had breakfast there the next morning, this time inside because it was raining. Here too, the service is good, the breakfast is delicious and the ambience is also very appealing. We'd love to come back!

Very friendly staff and delicious food. What particularly stood out to us was the nice gesture for my daughter, who received crayons before the meal and a small ice cream after the meal! Thank you again, highly recommended

We were there as a large group because we were celebrating a bachelorette party. We were warmly welcomed at the entrance, had a huge handcart with us and were able to get in with all of our luggage without any problems. Jonas, the manager of the shop, served us really well and always wanted to talk to us to see if there was anything wrong. We all felt comfortable and we all thought the food was delicious! Visit this restaurant guys 😇❤️

We were there for the herring days and chose this restaurant, and I have to say it wasn't a mistake. You can sit inside or outside as you like... The food was just great, a little more expensive, but recommended. The staff was in action, probably a bit understaffed, but no wonder in these days. Nevertheless, they did their work professionally, friendly and well, despite the large crowds, so high praise from us.

We had a delicious meal there on a Saturday evening. The service was very friendly, attentive and quick. The wait until our food came was also totally reasonable. The food was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The rooms are modern and comfortably furnished and very clean (including toilets). At the end we were offered an aperitif, which was on the house. A nice gesture that is no longer common everywhere, and we particularly liked the fact that we could choose an espresso instead of an aperitif, which my husband as driver was happy to accept. We would definitely come back if we came to Glückstadt again.

Had the dish of the week (Kabelhaus fillet with boiled potatoes, salad and horseradish). It was very tasty, the horseradish was fresh and the fish was thinly breaded and crispy. Service very friendly and a local chef.

We had breakfast 3 times, 1 time good, 2 times we always got cold coffee and 2 times breakfast wasn't complete, we wanted more cheese instead of sweet, it was forgotten, instead of egg salad we wanted cold cuts, no, there was egg salad. Instead of scrambled eggs there was boiled egg. The staff is partly very friendly, partly not particularly friendly, and the boss is also sensitive.

Spontaneously showed up for dinner with a total of 7 people. We received a very warm welcome. Two tables were pushed together and we could all sit together. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent and plentiful. Special requests were taken into account. Very good food and fantastic service! We received a very friendly welcome this Easter Sunday, were served quickly and the food was excellent. All staff were always relaxed and special requests were taken into account when ordering. The price is reasonable. We will come back when we go to Glückstadt again.

The breakfast is very good and rich. Today we were there for lunch for the first time, it was very good 👍 we would love to come back, everything was great and we can recommend it with a clear conscience.

The stay was very pleasant...the room was very large, the staff was super nice and accommodating...they really made a big effort. There are a few personal criticisms....the bathroom had no storage space (unfortunately I need it)...the living area was very sparse and simply furnished.....it was too loud at night with the window open due to the church tower bell.. ..the bell rang every quarter of an hour....unfortunately the bathroom could have been cleaner...sorry...the food was very good...Thank you...gladly again

We received a very warm welcome. The hotel is very centrally located, has very nice rooms and the breakfast is great - it is served at the table. You could put together your breakfast beforehand and it was prepared very lovingly. You can only recommend it. We'll definitely come back.

Waren heute zum Frühstück bei euch…ohne Reservierung und hatten das große Glück,noch einen schönen Tisch,mit Blick auf den Marktplatz zu ergattern.Der aufmerksamen Servicekraft sei dank! Ich habe mich für das türkische Frühstück entschieden und was soll ich sagen…Mega lecker und reichhaltig. Der Service super freundlich,aufmerksam & schnell.Toll!! Wir kommen wieder…dann aber mit Vorabreservierung!

Wir waren gerade zum Frühstück hier. Super lecker und reichhaltiges Englisch Frühstück.

Für die Silvesternacht ein Hotelzimmer direkt am Marktplatz in Glückstadt zu buchen, war definitiv nicht meine beste Idee! Zumindest nicht, wenn man vor hat ein paar Stunden erholsam zu schlafen.. ;) Aber das Hotel an sich ist super! Mega freundlicher, aufmerksamer Service sowohl an der Rezeption, als auch im Restaurant (trotz feiertagsbedingter Startschwierigkeiten beim Frühstück), sehr schön eingerichtetes, sauberes Zimmer und eine super Lage. Das Essen war preislich und geschmacklich völlig in Ordnung. Wir kommen bestimmt nochmal wieder (allerdings nicht an Silvester). ;)

Wir waren heute spontan noch zum Essen hier. Extrem aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service. Auch an die kleinen Rummelpottläufer war gedacht worden und diese freundlich begrüßt und beschenkt worden. Essen war qualitativ wirklich spitze. Ein gelungener Abend.

Wir waren mit 8 Personen im Restaurant Christian IV essen. Sehr freundlicher und kompetenter Service, das Essen kam zeitgleich und es hat alles gestimmt, kompliment an die Küche, wir waren alle sehr zufrieden. Sicherlich werden wir hier öfter einkehren.

Es ist ein großer Gewinn an wuseligen und beschäftigten Tagen hier in einer abgeschirmten Ecke die vorzügliche Speisen und Kaffee in aller Ruhe zu genießen. Egal Mittagstisch oder Abendessen, die sind genial kreiert, liebevoll zubereitet und so freundlich, aber nie aufdringlich, serviert. Ein großer Lob von mir! Vielleicht soll das Restaurant ein Geheimtipp bleiben, damit es nicht wie sein Nachbar von Touristen überschwemmt wird. Aber ich kann meine Dankbarkeit nicht zurückhalten.

War mit einer Freundin an, sehr nettes Ambiente, mega freundliches Personal und ein leckeres Essen. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis perfekt.

Alles gut - alles Super komme gerne wieder. Freue mich bereits darauf.

Haben Teufelsteak mit Käse überbacken gegessen. Dazu Braterkartoffeln. Hervorragend. Sehr lecker. Bedienung aufmerksam. Immer wieder gerne.

Sehr nettes Personal, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Die D4 Dipper sind der absolute Wahnsinn. Kartoffelspalten mit Knoblauchöl, Parmesanstücke und Lauchzwiebeln. Super lecker. Auch in 2023 wieder eine neue Kreation vom Koch. D4 Kartoffelspalten Spezial.

Ein Restaurant wo man einkehren muss. Die gastfreundliche Atmosphäre kann man dort voll genießen. Bereits beim Hereinsparzieren wurden wir mit einem freundlichen Lächeln begrüßt. Der Service war ausgezeichnet, das Essen war sehr gut. Zufriedene Gäste kommen immer wieder. Beim nächsten Besuch in Glückstadt wird es so sein.

Glückstadt ist ohnehin immer eine Reise wert! Viele tolle Restaurants am Markt laden zum rasten und speisen ein. Das Christian IV ist jetzt unter einer sehr netten Leitung! Der Gastwirt hat seinen Namen verdient. Sehr freundlich, aufmerksam, sehr bemüht. Das Essen wurde für 10 Personen nahezu gleichzeitig serviert und war von guter Qualität. Geschmacklich prima, gut gewürzt und abgeschmeckt! Von den einfachen Pommes bis zum Wildgericht waren alle am Tisch mit ihren gewählten Speisen zufrieden. Von mir eindeutig Daumen hoch!

Wir haben die freundliche und fast familiäre Atmosphäre sehr genossen. Das Frühstück war reichlich, sehr lecker und liebevoll angerichtet. Auch das Abendessen hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet, ruhig gelegen und sauber. Tolle zentrale Lage am Marktplatz. Weiter so. Wir kommen gerne wieder👍😊.

Gemeinsam mit meiner Frau waren wir in sehr angenehmer Atmosphäre sehr lecker essen. Die Wildgerichte sind sehr empfehlenswert. Der Service ist sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Wir freuen uns auf das nächste Ma(h)l. 😊

Eines vorweg: Sehr empfehlenswert und das Essen war absolut lecker! Wir haben hier Mittag gegessen und waren von dem Service und der Küche begeistert. Das moderne Ambiente im Restaurant und der gemütliche Platz am Fenster hat sein übriges getan. Wir wurden zügig bedient und die Fischmahlzeit ließ keinen Platz für Kritik. Im Gegenteil - alles war frisch zubereitet und sehr geschmackvoll angerichtet. Wir kommen wieder!!

Das Ambiente ist sehr schön der Inhaber ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkomment die Speisen waren sehr schmackhaft und mehr als ausreichend Preis Leistungs Verhältnis mehr als in Ordnung werde das Restaurant gerne weiter empfehlen und gerne wieder einkehren👍👍👍👍👍

Leckeres Essen und Getränke in gemütlicher Atmosphäre direkt am Marktplatz von Glückstadt, ob Frühstück, zu Mittag essen oder Abends chic essen gehen, das Christian IV ist eine der Lokalitäten in Glückstadt. Gerichte fuer jeden Geldbeutel, frisch zubereitet, von Fisch bis Steak finden auch kleine Gäste etwas auf der Karte. Freundlicher Service und Kompetente Mitarbeiter runden den Besuch im Christian IV ab. Erstes Mal das ich 5 Sterne fuer Irgendwas gebe.

Das Essen war hervorragend. Sehr lecker und toll auf dem Teller angerichtet. Der Service ist top. Sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Sowohl das Essen als auch die Getränke kamen sehr schnell und ohne große Wartezeit ( Freitag Abend 18:00 Uhr ). Ambiente ist sehr schön , modern und einladend. Tolle Einrichtung und Farbauswahl der Möbel etc. Auch die Lage ist optimal. Direkt am Marktplatz. Sowohl mit Auto als auch zu Fuß gut zu erreichen. Würde einen Besuch jedem sehr empfehlen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall öfters her! Vielen Dank für den tollen Abend bei euch!

Vorweg das Gute: das Essen war top und auch Preis-Leistungsbedingt sehr gut. Getränke und Zimmer ok. Aber: der Service ist absolut katastrophal. Gestern mussten wir 20min zur Aufgabe der Bestellung (ohne Karte) warten dann noch einmal 15min auf die Karte, weitere 10min auf die Getränke. Die männliche Bedienung hatte keinerlei Fachkomoetenz zum Fisch bzw kannte die eigene (Fisch)Karte überhaupt nicht. Zudem musste er dreimal (!!!ä nachfragen, das Essen kam aber flott nach 20min. Zwischenzeitliche Nachfrage oder Abgabe einer neuen Getränke erst nach 20min. Getränke in Form von zwei Alter kamen nicht. Wir verzichteten unf baten zu zahlen. Weitere 22 min Wartezeit waren erforderlich. Kartenzahlung war nicht möglich, einen Beleg konnte man uns nicht ausstellen. Wir gaben unsere Emailadresse an und sind gespannt wann der Beleg kommt, wenn überhaupt. Wie gesagt: das Essen war sehr gut und die Menge ok. Aber die Bedienung an einem Samstagabend zwischen 1845 Uhr und 2030 Uhr nur abzuraten 🤷‍♂️
