Hotel Halm in Konstanz

Excellent location, just in front of the train station and two steps away from the walking area of the historic city centre. Smiling, kind and professional staff at the reception (Miss Neumeyer, congratulations! She provided a very warm welcome with all needed information). Large room at floor 0, very clean, amazing bed linen and towels, well slept at night (no noises), welcome provided for my dog (so nice), one complimentary bottle of water. Toilet amenities are by Ritual, a very good brand. Excellent buffet breakfast with a lot of choice, well reassorted and cleaned, in an amazing breakfast room. I wanted to book this hotel again, when I still was in! I am a manager in tourism and I know the efforts to provide such a good service. Low price for the service offered.

We were only in the bar for an aperitif... attentive, fast and very friendly service despite the large crowds in the restaurant right next door. Unfortunately this time we stayed at the Steigenberger Inselhotel - an absolute disaster. / see review! The next time we are in Konstanz we will stay at the Halm again

The hotel looks very nice from the outside and also in the lobby. The reception was nice too. The room is large and tidy. You first come into the “living room” and have a separate room where the bed is. The bathroom is also large and has a large bathtub. The bed was comfortable. I personally find the rooms too dark. If you then take a closer look at the furniture, you'll see that it hasn't been renovated for a very long time. Nevertheless, the stay was good and the hotel is very conveniently located. You are right in the center and the train station is right opposite. Addition: I was now in a renovated room and it was nice and bright and more modern. I personally liked it better. Only the ventilation was very loud.

Expensive. Food Very very expensive for too little choice. If you definitely book here, then there is more choice and delicious food out there for significantly less money.

I have been a loyal guest of the hotel halm and have always rated it with 5 stars. However, after many stays, I had to have an extremely disappointing experience. As soon as I let the water into the bathtub, I noticed that the water wasn't draining. When I removed the plug, I discovered that there was feces in the bathtub drain - and I had it on my hands too. Not only is this incredibly unhygienic, it is simply unacceptable and casts a worrying light on the house's cleaning standards. I have never experienced anything like this, even in the cheapest hotels in Asia. As compensation, I was offered free breakfast and drinks at the bar. I leave it open whether this can be considered appropriate. As unfortunate as it is, my impression of the hotel has deteriorated significantly and unfortunately I can no longer recommend it. I hope that such incidents will be taken more seriously and avoided more consistently in the future.

Super nice hotel with a great location! From here you can be at the lake in 3 minutes and directly in the old town. The breakfast buffet is of very high quality. I can only recommend it.

Not a second time The entrance to the house is beautiful. The location opposite the train station is absolutely ideal. In the old town and still only a few meters from the Swiss border. But that was all. As a couple, we specifically ordered and paid for a room with a double bed when booking. It was confirmed as such according to the contract. The room then had 2 low, deep single beds that were far apart. We tried to push the two beds together, but it didn't work at all. At the reception it was said that there were no other rooms available. Then it was freezing cold in the room. We had to specially ask the reception to start the heating for the room. (Outside temperature 6 degrees). The heating control in the room was defective (see picture). In the bathroom of this 4* house there was just 1 bottle of shower gel with a content of 2 cl. Extremely petty for two adults. Comfort of the beds: we couldn't sleep. One duvet still had blood smears from a previous user on it. Was disgusting. (Pictures available). Hausentre 4*out of 5* Very nice reception. The main staircase is stately and very beautiful. Room facilities maximum 2* out of a possible 5*, old worn shabby furniture The reservation confirmation states: among other things: Equipment: Minibar: Actually a small refrigerator, empty and not even in use. Bed linen 1* because of the blood stains from the previous user Bathroom equipment...well... The room and bathroom were probably forgotten during every renovation Reception staff very friendly. Everything related to the room we were totally disappointed. A 3* hotel performs better.

The hotel is inexpensive and nice.. BUT: the employees are a disaster. First of all, we wait a long time to check in, then the waitress doesn't understand a single sentence of German, the welcome drink isn't served thanks to a "misunderstanding" and the room is cold.

We discovered it looking for buffet breakfasts in Konstanz, we booked for Sunday and what a discovery!! They have everything, just as it appears in their photos: eggs, bacon, sausages, vegetables, fruits, juices, all kinds of sausages, sweets, cakes, jams, yogurts...we loved it! The decoration is beautiful, very clean, friendly staff... And on top of that you can go with your 🐕, they put you in a little room next to the dining room, where you can have breakfast quietly, and go get everything you want from the buffet. We would repeat without hesitation!!!!

This was our third time at the Hotel Halm, 2-3 years apart. And unfortunately the hotel has come out of its prime in recent years. We already had a superior room in this hotel that was very nice and a suite that was a disappointment for what it cost. For this reason we had a standard room (223) this time and unfortunately this showed us that this was the last time we stayed in this hotel. The dirt under the mattresses (hair, blood stains), dirty furniture such as the chairs in the room and the also totally outdated bathroom are too expensive. Worn fittings, a toilet flush with a life of its own and poorly draining water in the shower tray. When we mentioned when checking out that the room was unfortunately dirty, we were asked about the room category. As if that could play a role in cleanliness. And that in a 4 star hotel where the night costs 200 euros. Oh well, the room is only cleaned every 3 days and you also have to order a change of towels at the reception. The breakfast is a small highlight... Except for the baked rolls, which you have to look for under the magnifying glass... I've never seen such tiny rolls. Otherwise, the breakfast offers a good selection. The staff was very friendly and attentive. However, this no longer saves the tired impression of the hotel. And what I also wanted to mention is of course the parking situation. You can only park in public parking garages in the area for a daily rate of €24. We didn't think it was very nice either. But we actually already knew that from last time.

A traditional house that is getting a bit old. But the rooms are well maintained and clean, the service is top and the breakfast was also tasty. Great location right in the center. Unfortunately there is no parking lot, but there are plenty of parking garages nearby.

The Hotel is perfect for planning a few days in Konstanz. The train station is 1 min away, the bike shop is 1 min away and the biertgarten is 1 min away. The Hotel breathes tradition, the building is more than 150 years old. The staff was very attentive and the room we had was very quiet.

Positive Very friendly staff. Very plentiful and good breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired. Price is definitely justified at 20 euros / person. The location of the hotel is very close to the center, yet quiet. Negative Room service is automatically carried out only after the 3rd day/stay. The reason is an environmental program. You can order daily room service using the completed room card. But for whatever reason, that didn't work. What was particularly annoying was the fact that we had to pay an extra 30 euros per day for cleaning when we booked with a dog. There are no long-term parking spaces at the hotel, which means you have to park in the nearby parking garage. The cost here is 24 euros per day.

The hotel was good overall. There is one star deduction because the bathtub had a bubble function that unfortunately didn't work. I liked that the shampoo and soap were high quality. The service and the in-house restaurant were very good, although we ordered a separate plate which was unfortunately forgotten. In addition, the service seemed a bit uncoordinated and one of the glasses was cracked. But the food is highly recommended All in all 4/5 stars

Rooms a bit old school, but very clean. Service so far nothing to complain about. No 5 stars because it's not great, it just does what it's supposed to do. Location 1a. An outdated but very clean and central hotel.

The staff are very warm and very nice!! We felt very comfortable. Location/Location Top!! There's nothing better :) Room suite, I would have expected more... especially when it comes to cleanliness... and comfort... you can't hear anything from the street. We'd love to come back.

Yes, the Hotel Halm is of a higher standard and is therefore a little more expensive, but it is worth every euro. We received a warm welcome, everyone we dealt with was very friendly and went above and beyond. We had minor concerns, all of which were resolved immediately and to our complete satisfaction. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean and the breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. If I come to Konstanz again, the Hotel Halm will be my first choice. Thanks for the hospitality and see you next time.

Great breakfast. Unfortunately there are no parking spaces available in the hotel. You have to go to the parking garage, which costs 24 euros per day.

Tolle Lage Gutes Preis Leistungs Verhältnis

Ich und meine Freundin waren eine Nacht in diesem Hotel und wir würden immer wieder dort übernachten! Die Lage ist perfekt, sehr zentral hast alles in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Die Parkgebühren in dem Parkhaus sind optimal! Sehr freundlicher Service, man wird sehr höflich und freundlich empfangen. Frühstück für 20€ pro Person ist voll kommen in Ordnung. Für ein normal Verbraucher der nichts extravagantes haben möchte ein bisschen teuer. Aber für den Service, für die Freundlichkeit und für das Ambiente zahle ich das sehr gerne! Unser nächste Aufenthalt wird definitiv wieder in Hotel Halm sein!
