The food was good. The service was good. However, there's a discrepancy in the discount information. We were supposed to use the 30% discount with the Welcome Card all inclusive Berlin, but this doesn't apply to the food, only to the beer!

Fast service, good food, super nice atmosphere, after walking it's perfect, centrally located.

The food was good, but the service was a complete disaster. 20 minutes after eating, we asked to pay. The employee said he'd be right there, but never came back. After another 10 minutes, we finally had to ask his colleague. The restaurant was very loud.

I ordered a Caesar Salad and after 1:30 hours I felt very sick. I was the only one who ordered this dish. So I have no doubt as to the cause. After 7:00 hours I'm still sick and vomiting. This happened on September 29, 2025. The service is very good, as is the atmosphere, but given what happened, I can't recommend it.

Terrible experience but two stars for location After waiting 10 minutes to order our food it did not arrive for 45 minutes although they weren’t busy. The nice waitress wanted to give us a discount after we asked her to cancel the order. The young manager told her no and give us a “shot”. Umm read the room, we don’t drink (ordered soda and water)! After all this the food had no flavor. Don’t go here for your German food experience, but instead try Nante-Eck which is not far and delicious!! We still don’t know what took the food so long.

I didn't get to eat; the service was disorganized and overwhelmed. A quarter of wine arrived quickly, and then I shouted "no time" twice. The bar was half empty, and there were at least six waiters. Some were running around, others were leaning comfortably at the table, chatting. I was forced to pay halfway. Luckily, there was a currywurst stand outside! Clearly a management issue!

I went there for dinner and it caught my attention that they didn't pass a cloth over the table that was wet with water from previous diners. I ordered soup and since I was sitting looking towards the kitchen window I saw a bowl that I thought was my soup. Just at that moment a cook takes the bowl with both hands and starts drinking soup in front of the eyes of one of his colleagues in the kitchen and I thought, too bad it wasn't my soup. When the cook finishes drinking the soup, he leaves the bowl on a tray where the waiter brings me the soup that the cook had been drinking and serves it to me. Disgusted and surprised, I call the waiter to explain what I had witnessed and he denied it to me even though I told him that I had just seen it with my own eyes. They changed my soup but the cooks were explaining it to each other with laughter that was inappropriate in this situation so unpleasant for me. They didn't have a word of apology for the fact or even said goodbye to us when we left. I can only say that I was disgusted to have to eat in a place like that, very disgusted that the staff eats from the plate intended for the customers. Disgusting!!!

We had to say it was very mediocre. The apple strudel was lukewarm and tasted like cardboard...

We just wanted to take a quick break and have a drink. The beer garden in the courtyard is very nice and quiet. The staff was very friendly. Keep up the good work.

We visited this restaurant today — it was a very hot day. The waitress Julia offered us the best table. Excellent service, good internet, and a wide selection of beer. Thank you, Julia — we will definitely come back! ☺️

A very good restaurant with excellent service, even if the prices are a bit high. We had Zurich-style schnitzel and Leberkäse, and it was absolutely delicious.

The food was very tasty, but the service left a lot to be desired. One particular service employee, a young woman, seemed overwhelmed and was unable to properly manage our group. She appeared visibly annoyed when we asked for basic things like clearing empty plates. Her attitude came across as unprofessional and unfriendly, which unfortunately affected the overall experience. The kitchen did a great job, but the service should definitely be improved.

I was very disappointed with the service during our visit. Several staff members were just standing around and seemed uninterested in helping guests. In particular, there was a blonde female staff member who clearly saw that our plates were empty but made no effort to clear them. When we politely asked her to take them away, she came over visibly annoyed, as if we were disturbing her. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in hospitality. A more attentive and friendly approach would have made a big difference.

Very central restaurant near the Brandenburg Gate. We ate good German food: goulash soup, spaetzle, Viennese cutlets. Cost per person about 25 euros per person soft drinks. Friendly staff. Fast service

Overall, the visit here was quite disappointing. The food was prepared without care and does not do justice to German cuisine. You’ll only end up disappointed here. Everything tastes bland and lacks flavor. The only good thing is the location, otherwise it’s very loud and it’s hard to have a conversation…

The food and drinks arrived quickly. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and the service were lacking. The schnitzel tasted like it came from a deep fryer, and the potato salad tasted like a convenience store. The goulash soup tasted very sour, and the immediate complaint led to arguments. The prices are probably normal for the location, but not for the food. It's a shame if tourists get the wrong impression of Berlin's culinary offerings here.

It's simply a place for tourists, and should be avoided if you don't like being "squeezed" at high prices 🙈 The €6.20 beer is definitely worth it. Berlin has so much to offer... at a better price!

I had an Alsatian-style tarte flambée. It was good. The service was excellent. The ambiance was nice.

We were there with a group, so we weren't paying for our own meals, and we "enjoyed" the mass processing! The drinks – exclusively Coke and water – were counted and weren't refilled. The food was supposed to be a vegetarian vegetable curry – but it "ran past" both the vegetables and the curry! One star is still too many!

Great location right next to the Berlin Gate. Cozy environment and friendly staff. Food is also good.

We haven't had such a bad meal in a long time (the schnitzel was soggy and soaked with grease) and such poor (or nonexistent!?) service. The staff seemed rather haphazard, disinterested, and unfriendly. They did ask us briefly once as we walked by whether we were enjoying our meal, but apparently no one wanted to hear the answer, because by then the staff had already left. After we repeatedly pointed out that we wanted to pay, someone only came to "collect" our meal (the card reader was rudely slammed down on the table) after we got up and put on our jackets. The location itself is okay, but feels more like a train station concourse for mass processing. It's a shame that tourist groups are brought here, of all places, and they might leave Berlin with the completely wrong impression.

The highest rating, 5 stars, is adequate/accurate/suitable for the attractiveness of this place. Beautiful surroundings. There are tourist attractions nearby, the closest of which are: Brandenburg Gate and Paris Square. I recommend!

The environment is beautiful as it is located literally behind the Brandenburg Gate. I must say that for the food offered the prices are undoubtedly high but undoubtedly in line with the place where you are. The food was all in all good. The bill in my humble opinion, a little too high. However, the place is very large and there are various seats inside and outside.

Unfortunately, only one star today. We wanted to have a beer outside in the nice weather. It's not possible. Buying inside and drinking outside isn't possible. Completely inflexible; you can tell the owner isn't there. Next door at Mama trattoria, everything was fine. Too bad, we used to be regulars...

We stopped here spontaneously for dinner. The food was good, and we had dumplings and Zurich-style schnitzel. In the summer, it's nice to sit outside and enjoy the view of the Reichstag. I find it a bit cramped and noisy inside, but it's bearable. As in any tourist town, the prices are a bit higher than in a small town, but that's just how it is.

The food wasn't anything special and actually too expensive. The ambiance was quite good, though.

Everything was very good. We had Wiener veal schnitzel, which was absolutely fantastic. The apple strudel, on the other hand, wasn't so good. I'm used to it with hot vanilla sauce. I thought €80 for two people was €20 too much.

As a partner of the Berlin Welcome Card, Hopfinger offers cardholders a 25% discount. Then, at the checkout, the disappointment... 25% discount on the first drink... nothing more! And then, the tourist trap. The food was also rather disappointing... the pork knuckle was quite dry and had probably been in the incubator for a while. The second star is only because the beer tasted good.

We didn't go into the restaurant, we just bought a bratwurst at the little house they have outside. Good, nice and cheap. They are making them fresh and you can tell they are fresh as is the bread, which is super crunchy. Good to eat something quick in the past. It costs €4.5, they also sell pretzels for €3

Wir hatten Lust auf deutsche Küche und sind ganz spontan hier Essen gegangen. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sehr freundliches Personal. Limonade und Bier waren absolut super und das Essen hat auf jeden Fall überzeugt. Schweinshaxe und Züricher Geschnetzeltes waren wirklich lecker und große Portionen die den Preis auf jeden Fall wert sind. Unseren kleinen Hund durften wir auch mitbringen.

The beer was great and the food overall was very good. The wurst was delicious, and the pork knuckle was tasty and well-cooked — though it could have been cleaned better, as there were some pork hairs in a few spots. Aside from that, the dish was enjoyable. The lemonade was a bit too sour and could have used a bit more sweetness for balance. The restaurant has plenty of space, with a nice terrace and lots of tables inside, so it’s a comfortable spot even when it’s busy. Overall, we had a pleasant experience. However, on some walls there were visible stains, which made it a bit unpleasant to sit at certain tables along the wall. It’s a small area and could easily be cleaned or repainted to improve the overall atmosphere.

The food was delicious and the place pretty BUT the waitresses were not friendly at all. They were very cold and mainly ignored us. They went to see all the other tables even the one arrived after us. I think its because we're foreigners. It's unfortunate because the food was good.

Unfortunately the food was very bad. The schnitzel was soft and not fried properly. Unfortunately it was also a disappointment in terms of taste. Unfortunately the service wasn't good either, the lady seemed very unmotivated.

I had the cheese spaetzle: unfortunately you have to look for the cheese in it with a magnifying glass...The spaetzle were extremely dry, the onions were not melted, but from a can. As a southern German, I am really disappointed!

Terrible restaurant. No greeting at the door, staff were cold and unfriendly — as if guests were a burden. Service was way below what you'd expect for the prices. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming and completely lacking in diversity. Not worth your time or money.

It's close to attractions, so it's perfect for a quick lunch. The service was fast, the food is delicious and plentiful, it's just fine.

*Bad experience.* We arrived at this bar/pub to join some friends who were already sitting. As soon as we arrived, we tried to figure out where to sit, but the staff...were rude for no reason!!! . When I asked the reason for such unprofessional behavior, the response was evasive and nonsensical. According to them they had to sit us in another part because there were too many of us but in reality other staff had authorized us to sit at that table!!! Maybe our Italian accent was annoying? A behavior that, frankly, has no justification. After experiencing this unpleasant situation, our friends and I decided to leave. I would like to point out that we are adult, polite and respectful people, and this treatment was unacceptable!!! Kudos to your rudeness

Ate there on a school tour with 40 students. Hard to do a meal for that many but they were efficient. Food was simple, but tasty. Potatoes, sauerkraut, and a small meatloaf (hamburger?) with gravy. Potatoes had no seasoning but the meat & gravy were a little on the salty side so when taken together it was perfect 😜 Portions were maybe on the smaller side but it was a tour meal and it was sufficient. Also a nice cheesecake for dessert.

There were 5 people eating there spontaneously at lunchtime without a reservation. Were kindly taken to a place. Drinks were taken quickly and came quite quickly. I had the roast pork with servette dumplings and sauerkraut. My feeling was mediocre, the taste of the food was, let's say, neutral. Personally, I found it lacking in spice. For me personally, the sauerkraut was “cooked to death” but tasted ok. But I found it too expensive for the price/performance ratio, but you also have to see where the restaurant is located, assuming that there is a lot of tourist traffic. I don't know if I would go again. But service was ok

Cheese spaetzle are bad. Just dry spaetzle with a piece of cheese in one place. No cream, no spices. Side salad with virtually no dressing (just cucumbers). Currywurst standard.

The food itself was good, the pork chops were very tasty and the vegetable bread was also very tasty. However, the cheese spaetzle are really something in themselves. Because they taste really intensely like mountain cheese. A friend of mine didn't like them at all. However, I found them completely OK. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and has a nice lounge area. What I found very unfortunate is that I waited around 1:45 for almost 2 hours for my food and that's stupid if you're hungry. But it could also be that we got it so late because the store was completely full

My waiter was very kind and helpful. I ordered the veal with mushroom sauce... Listen to me. ARE YOU LISTENING!?! IT WAS AMAZING! The veal was cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were crispy, which prevented them from becoming mushy in the sauce—just the right texture. The sauce itself was light and complementary to the dish. Most certainly a place to return to.

Awful service from bartender who was rude and dismissive

Food was good but our waiter was terrible. We sat there for 20 minutes waiting to pay while he kept coming to the table next to us and tending to them. Finally got him to stop so we could pay and leave and he requested a 3euro tip to be added. He only spoke to us to get our order and to pay, unlike the table next to us...that was also English speaking. I did tip but found the whole experience to be rude. None of the other restaurants treated us this way.

Except that you have to wait a bit for service because it's usually very busy - a very good restaurant around the corner from the Bundestag.

The people working there are super nice, they attend customers in a very friendly way and the food is delivered fast and its very good, bit overpriced for my mediterranian culture but you are literally Next to Brandeburgo gate and you can see the reichtag from the terrace

Stopped in the to have a late lunch service was very prompt but not really friendly, I ordered a wienerschnitzel and unfortunately the schnitzel itself was tasteless really no seasoning at all The salad was nice the potato salad but a bit overwhelmed by the red onion in the salad.

We miscalculated the price when there were three of us there. We could easily understand that we came up with a maximum of 10 beers. However, when billing we were charged for 15 beers. Every discussion was without any success. We ended up paying but will never drink here again

Chic from the outside in a great location. Unfortunately, the food is more designed for mass tourism. Quality is pretty average. Beer tastes good.

Recommended option near the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. We had spatzel and schnitzel and they were very good. The place is large but quite noisy. The price is somewhat high

The menu and ambience is typically Bavarian, not Berlin. Therefore it doesn't fit with my visit to Berlin. The taste was good, although some components were no longer as warm as I expected. During peak operation the downtime was obviously too long.

Delicious freshly tapped beer and an incredibly nice, accommodating bartender for whom special requests are no problem 😊. However, the prices are not exactly cheap due to the location.
