They didn't want to sell me the lunch menu even though it was advertised for an hour. It wasn't all but "only at full price". Then you can't apply until 5:00 p.m. if you don't feel like serving until 5:00 p.m. It was the first and last visit.

I had ordered takeaway. Unfortunately, the wrong (more expensive) food was packaged and I only noticed and complained shortly after paying. The lady was very rude and had no idea how we could solve this or refund me the overpaid amount. On the contrary: I was informed that I was delaying them with my complaint. What a disgrace! We eat here often and are happy to recommend it to customers. Probably not anymore.

The pasta with sheep's cheese was floating in oil and was overcooked.

The drinks were good and the service was great

I had forgotten that there was a restaurant here with German cuisine and a wonderfully beautiful interior with old advertising signs, a small library and a seating area with a table in the middle for 4 people, all in dark brown and with leather seats. A waitress manages to bring the drinks from the counter to the table outside, bring the food halfway across the restaurant and still collect the money. For lunch there is a weekly menu, dish for €8.90 (also on weekends), which you can take with you for the next few days. There are quite a few regular guests here.

Ate Wiener Schnitzel Joes yesterday. As always, very excellent. The service is very friendly, and I don't really care whether it's served on a tray or not.

The atmosphere in the house is very cozy and rustic, but the beer garden is rather dreary. Staff friendly, but unprofessional (drinks served without a tray), not possible! Food is average, large portions. Unfortunately the schnitzels come out of the deep fryer. Overall 2.5 stars.

Mixture of beer pub and restaurant in a prime location on Theo. Very comfortable furnishings that will definitely entice you to stay seated for a longer period of time. Shady summer terrace. Classic pub menu with schnitzels, grilled dishes, etc. The menu is supplemented by seasonal dishes. There is also a cheap pub plate every day. The quality of the food is solid, although some dishes and side dishes use ready-made products. In any case, the portions are plentiful. There are clearly not enough staff, which leads to longer waiting times, especially when ordering drinks. Lots of older West Berlin regulars. The pricing is fair.

Contrary to some opinions here, the schnitzel today was not very breaded, so it was delicious!

Food is very good, but the service staff is overwhelmed. We were only visited three times in three hours, the first round of drinks lasted over thirty minutes (a bottle of water and two draft beers). When we checked out we acknowledged the service with a 5% tip, then the waitress rolled his eyes.

I was there this afternoon. It was the European Championship game between the Netherlands and Turkey. And it was disgusting to see that the waiter wiped his forehead with the tea towel while drying the cutlery. He also dropped a knife on the floor while clearing away and picked it up and put it with the knives that were put back on the table.

Typical German cuisine. Very friendly staff and service. Easy to reach and close to the Olympia stadium and Subway.

We went to Joe's tavern today and were very impressed. The food (veal liver and meatloaf) was very tasty and the non-alcoholic Alster was also tasty. The Kaiserschmarrn and the Williams pear at the end were also delicious. The staff, especially our waiter and his colleague at the counter, were extremely pleasant and attentive. We also found the entire atmosphere great, we will definitely come back.

My husband and I had the Rages dish, skirt steak with vegetables, herb butter and fries, for €8.90. The food was good, but very little. For me as an older lady, it was enough, my husband wasn't full. You have to bring your time, because with that price it is of course full. You can sit outside and that's nice given the weather.

The last few times it's always said that the kitchen is understaffed and you can't even get any soup! You then wait up to 60 minutes for the food!!! And that was the second time now. A PITY!

We had the veal liver and daily special steak with fries, green beans and Kaiserschmarrn. Everything was super tasty, seasoned just right. Steak tender, sufficient size, liver as well, mashed with pieces (as it should be for me/us), good onions (I've already experienced 2-3 "strips" elsewhere). Kaiserschmarrn warm and delicious, with great plum compote. Prices for all dishes are totally acceptable. And the service was very friendly, despite the occasional stress due to the large number of guests at lunchtime. Stress may be acceptable for staff at peak times, but we all do! need service and if you still smile, jackpot. No restaurants without service! Some restaurant goers should think about this and rethink their behavior including tipping....! Can only recommend the restaurant!!!

A quaint German inn. The service was very quick and always had fun. This was my first asparagus of the season, I loved it and the Wiener Schnitzel was really good!

The visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. The employee was rude and unprofessional. Despite our presence, she seemed to be skillfully ignoring us. After 15 minutes we decided to leave. Fortunately, there are very good alternatives in the area. One star for nothing is still too much.

First day, no chef there, so no more guests are being accepted. Second attempt, no staff there to change barrels, nothing to drink in sight! Hopelessly overworked staff. So... I have no idea what it would have been like.

Great place with great service. Delicious food and fast service. Sitting on the terrace and savoring German dishes is a must 😆 (I especially liked the dish: fried potatoes with meat medallions and mushrooms) And most importantly: the prices are pleasantly surprising!

Unfortunately, the food (meatloaf) was not edible and served with a ready-made sauce. The 1 star I give for the mashed potatoes is obviously not a finished product. The service was hard but that was it. The waiting times were very long, even though the restaurant was moderately busy.

Were there with a larger group (25 people). Everything was great beforehand. The operation was also extremely uncomplicated and tried hard. Unfortunately, she and the kitchen were completely overwhelmed. It took forever until all the drinks and later dishes were taken - later some dishes were forgotten or mixed up - and not served at the same time. The worst thing was that for most guests, some of the food was cold (e.g. potatoes, etc.) and it was not served on warm or hot dishes. The quality of the food...well...certainly not that easy due to the very large menu. But for the price level, the overall experience was unfortunately very disappointing. Lack of staff cannot be an excuse here. We won't be coming back :-(

A total disappointment! We knew this restaurant from a previous company meeting - afterward the impression remained unimpressed but correct. This time, dictated by a craving, we decided to visit the restaurant and eat Viennese-style schnitzel. The schnitzel was served in two small pieces and the topping was pale, the breaded layer was soaked in fat and fell away from the meat. The taste of the meat itself and its quality were very questionable and tasted very bad. The fried potatoes were soft and not very tasty, although they looked spicy brown, the only thing that tasted good was the potato salad ;-) We didn't want to pick on you, but when the waitress asked if everything tasted good - we decided to say that the dishes were simply inedible and of questionably poor quality. The waitress was very nice, took our plates and admitted herself that our schnitzels did indeed look strange and pale, but unfortunately she can't cancel the bill, so she offered us a dessert - to kill the taste, we decided us finally for a coffee ;-) The coffee was very good ;-) we think that if the staff themselves admit that the schnitzel doesn't look like it "should", we should get a decent dish - but we have the coffee drank and decided that we will never come here again ;-) We regularly visit restaurants in our district and know their cuisine quite well. A failed visit to a restaurant is not a tragedy for us, but a visit to a restaurant should be a rather pleasant experience ;-) This time we simply ate at home after the visit.

Many of the reviews here say that it is rustic or "Berlin-like" and that leaves us at a loss: you are greeted with a view to the right behind the bar, untidy and crowded, the first impression is not good. The fact that the Christmas decorations are hanging dusty from the ceiling in mid-April also doesn't make a good impression. The hygiene leaves a lot to be desired (dirty glass, cobwebs). For food: The weekly menu promised "Grilled French corn-fed chicken breast with spicy herb jus, snow peas, Broccoli, cherry tomatoes and potato croquettes". The vegetables were bland, the tomatoes, which might have given the whole thing some freshness, were completely missing. Herb jus? The corn-fed chicken was juicy and okay. However, the "gravy" that was served with it - absolutely oversalted and... In the end, it was no longer edible. "It just has a buzz," says the waiter when he politely remarked that the chef was probably in love...yes, I still had the boom on my tongue hours later, thank you very much. And then there were fried potatoes! Prepared and reheated, zero crispy. There is no joy there! If you don't like dessert or a nightcap after using the toilet - who can blame you? The view of the scullery and the kitchen island denies you anything. But hey, it's just Berlin. Um no, but no thanks!

Super friendly staff. The food wasn't my cup of tea, but it was filling. Hardly seasoned and the broccoli was way too hard. Nice atmosphere and toilets with 80s charm. Will definitely come again.

Whether it's homemade beef roulade or pork or veal schnitzel, here you'll find home-style cooking at reasonable prices and friendly service. The dishes are unbeatably affordable as a lunch menu, which is also offered on Saturdays and Sundays.

Good food and drink right on Theodor Heusplatz opposite the former RIAS Berlin. Staff really Berliners.

Ate there deliciously and sat well. When we arrived it was packed and the service was very attentive. The emptier it got, the slower the service was (15 minutes before empty plates, even though there were only 5-10 guests in the restaurant.

The best schnitzels we've ever had! Great restaurant with a really nice team and incredibly good schnitzels. My children asked me to give a 5-star review straight away. That's always a very good sign :-) Huge portion that tasted really great at a great price. What more do you want. The service staff are really nice and the Zwickel is on tap and tastes delicious... We will definitely come back when we are in Berlin again!

A good rustic beer house and restaurant with good German cuisine.

Rustic atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive service. The dishes are really very tasty. We ordered a starter and a main course. The portions are very generous. Sometimes a little less would be better. We were given three doggy bags. Our conclusion: Highly recommended 👍👍👍👍👍

A restaurant with solid German cuisine and a rustic ambience. The dishes are super tasty and the service is quick and very friendly and accommodating. Overall, highly recommended! However, you should make a reservation (especially on weekends) if you don't want to run the risk of not getting a seat. Minus point: the sanitary facilities are a bit old. It's acceptable, but then at least everything you need for hygiene should be there!

Since I eat out every day, I look for good lunch in this city. That's how I came to Joe, where I went for the first time today because the Sylt fish platter really appealed to me. The restaurant is rustic with musical accompaniment. The staff is not very interested. The order was placed without drinks. After a good 25 minutes a man came to the table with the food and was quite angry that we didn't choose drinks based on the prices. I thought that was bold and something like that had never happened to me in this city. As a guest, I am not responsible if the calculation is incorrect!!!! There was also no indication anywhere that lunch can only keep the price down with drinks. Such coercion is beyond outrageous and this restaurant is out of my portfolio for it.

Nice, cozy restaurant with an antique dark wooden look with good German cuisine, especially the Königsberger Klopse are "like from nuts". Good! Some parking spaces directly in front with parking meters. Changing daily specials Mon-Fri until 5 p.m. Good coffee!

First of all: there is nothing wrong with the food. The lunch offer (schnitzel) tasted great, was portioned sensibly and was reasonably priced. However, the service is a disaster. The waiter was shockingly rude and yet "expected" a tip. When this didn't happen, he grimaced and threw my change on the table.

Currently There are very tasty chanterelles there....! Definitely try it.

Good German cuisine - it also looked excellent at the neighboring tables.

I have checked the restaurant for a late lunch around 2 pm. on working day. The restaurant was recommended as a typical German restaurant serving traditional German food. So I went for “Rouladen” which is a thin 2 slices of beef with bacon and onion inside. Was pretty tasty. I would expect also a bit of egg, slice of cucumber and more sour taste. I know this food under name “Spanish bird” - common in Central Europe. In fact, I don’t understand why the German food has that crazy name. Non alcoholic beer superb. Waiter kept eye distance while speaking to us, no joking at all, premises were clean, but inside restaurant was a little dark and quiet.

On a Friday I had the fried trout with cucumber salad and potatoes (daily menu). The trout was very small and no longer fresh at the head, the salad and potatoes were good. In contrast to the older couple at the next table, the waitress was very unfriendly to me. It is the second time that I have been treated unkindly as an individual and unfortunately it is probably no coincidence. The two of me were there shortly before Christmas, the food was great (duck with red cabbage and dumplings) and we were served in a super friendly and attentive manner. After a long time there, the two of us ate 1/4 duck with side dishes. Duck quite light, skin only partially crispy, meat tasted good, unfortunately one portion of duck had little meat, a lot of skeleton, red cabbage was tasty, but there were too big hard pieces in it. There was very little sauce, after a long wait I was given sauce for the second dumpling upon request, but with an additional payment of €2, decided by the chef. That was the “greeting from the kitchen”. 2 older women at the next table left the restaurant upset because they were moved twice. Although we were served very nicely, I didn't feel comfortable.

We were there on Sunday January 28th, 2024 by chance before an event in the Wühlmäuse and were lucky without a reservation. The two girls did a great job. Even though the place was full, they managed it and were a joy to watch. The food was great and you can't complain about the price. We'd love to come back. A little tip for other guests, reservations would be advisable.

Ein sehr schön und stilvoll eingerichtetes Wirtshaus mit typisch Berliner dunkler Wandvertäfelung. Das Essen (Currywurst mit Pommes) war sehr lecker und dem Preis angemessen. Der Service war freundlich und einladend und aufmerksam.
