Honghong Noodles Restaurant in München

The waiter was rude, unfriendly, and seemed determined to pretend we didn’t exist. It took forever to order and even longer to get the food, it honestly felt like they didn’t want us there.

I ordered the duck with curry sauce and vegetables. Unfortunately, the sauce was very watery, and the vegetables consisted of only a small piece of broccoli and some red bell pepper. The duck was dry, cold, and very oily—really not worth it for €15.90. For starters, I had spring rolls. These were also very oily and barely filled—it felt like I was just eating fried dough. Both the spring rolls and the sauce seemed like simple convenience store items, even though the menu says "homemade." For €6.90, it was truly disappointing.

My friends and I went here for noodles yesterday and stir-fried dishes today. I had a good impression of the restaurant and thought it offered good value. But all goodwill was shattered when I checked out. Yesterday, I tried to pay with a credit card, but the owner said they didn't accept dollars. Instead, they asked me to enter my PIN and pay in euros. I didn't want to enter my PIN, fearing it might be stolen, so I said I couldn't remember it and paid in cash. Today, when I checked out, the owner said my card failed and I didn't pay, so I asked for cash. I asked for the security camera, but the owner said they didn't have any. First, can I come back the next day if I don't pay? I was planning to come back again. Second, can the owner let me go if I didn't pay? Third, the restaurant can't prove I didn't pay in cash, so can't you just remember it wrong? So, could the owner install a camera facing the cash register, or ask customers to avoid paying twice? It's risky for repeat customers.

The food was delicious. The service was also very friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Service is sometimes a bit hectic, but the food tastes very authentic. The noodle soup with braised lamb is highly recommended.

Since the restaurant was close to our hotel, had good reviews, and we were in the mood for ramen, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, we can't understand the many positive reviews. The restaurant was busy, but not overcrowded. However, the service seemed completely stressed and overwhelmed. Our order wasn't taken for about 15 minutes, and the drinks didn't arrive until after the food had arrived. Everything was slammed down on the table without a word. For starters, we had two spring rolls – they tasted okay. The Pho Bo noodle soup, on the other hand, was disappointing: bland, barely seasoned, and simply tasteless. The Tokkotsu noodle soup was the only highlight and at least somewhat salvaged the visit. You had to pay right next to the food counter, between the rice cooker and waiting customers – not a pleasant ending. We certainly won't choose this restaurant again on our next visit to Munich.

0/10000 ⭐️ Arrived shortly before 7:30 p.m., ordered, got drinks, and after 90 minutes, we wondered why our food wasn't there yet. Then we asked. 15 minutes later, the cashier came over and asked, "What do you want?" The order hadn't been sent to the kitchen yet. Huh?? At 8:48 p.m., we left the restaurant hungry. "Sorry, next time, yes." Sorry... but there won't be a next time. NEVER.

The staff are super friendly and the food was delicious. We'd gladly go back.

We were there on a public holiday. The staff were stressed and very rude. The food wasn't what we expected. The chicken stew had no chicken, but instead had a lot of gristle and bones. The curry duck was missing its vegetables. Unfortunately, a bad first impression.

Very delicious, I already finished the food before I could take a picture. Definitely will will come back, especially for Munich this quality for this price is rare. Enjoy!

The food was very tasty and the “light” spiciness 🌶️ was just right, and the portions were filling. If you’re dining with more than one person, I’d recommend adding a side to share. The restaurant is quite big with two floors and also has outdoor seating. It’s nicely decorated and has a welcoming vibe. The service, unfortunately, wasn’t the best. It seemed like there was only one waitress managing all the tables, literally running around to keep up. At one point she even took half of our order, moved to another table, then came back to finish it. Hopefully, that was just an off day. That said, the menu has a huge variety of dishes (which can feel a bit overwhelming), but it also makes me want to come back and try more next time.

The food is super tasty and authentic, not run-of-the-mill Western Chinese restaurant rubbish. The staff are also super nice.

We ate here late lunch, restaurant was quite empty. Meals were tasty and filling. Service was quite average as I had to go and ask for chopsticks. Unfortunately, no Wi-Fi for customers- you can't get five stars for the service in such case!

Good meal, we couldn’t sit where we wanted because it was still been cleaned. No English menu which made it a bit difficult to find something to eat as we had to use translator. The quality of the food and the portion size were very good.

We’ve been eating here since Covid times and I’m so happy we discovered it. The Thai hühnerfleisch is amazing, and also the Gebratene Nudeln. We come here very often, it’s the best on a rainy or gloomy day… :) very cosy atmosphere.

I tried two veggie dishes and they were both tasty! The prices are pretty good. Tofu & Veggies 14.50€ and the potato curry 12.50€. Rice was provided to each dish. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere as well. Will come back for sure

Finally I come to write the review for Honghong, which has been my go to Chinese restaurant for the past 5 years in Schwabing. I’ve literally known every single dish here and I just want to say this is definitely the best and most authentic Chinese restaurant you can find with same price level in town. And please do not just go for “gebratene Nudeln” or something you can get from some fast china wok. Choose some dishes and I am sure you will be amazed

We come here regularly; the food is very good and the service is very friendly. The vegetarian dishes are also great; my favorites are eggplant, pak choi with shiitake mushrooms, and rapeseed blossoms.

We discovered this place by chance and didn't regret it at all. Excellent price/quality ratio. Portions are large and tasty. The staff is very nice. The place is also suitable for those who don't eat meat: a fairly good selection of fish dishes and just vegetables.

If there is no outdoor seating in the summer, don't come. It's too hot and stuffy inside without air conditioning. The restaurant owner doesn't seem very friendly and refused to use the WiFi when I tried to borrow it.

We have a saying, "If you want to know if the restaurant is good, look for native people eating there." This is that place! Food is served really quick! Authentic, even validated by my Chinese friend that it tasted like home. It can get crowded and overwhelming specially on Saturdays and weekend in general during dinner time, again part of being a great place to eat. Wonderful friendly staff, and I always feel welcomed here. Not to mention great decorations as well, specially the upper floor. You will enjoy the food and the place!

Incredibly tasty and incredibly cheap, one of our favourite places in Munich! We are always happy to come back and try something new although we have our longtime favourites (aubergines, Spitzkohl, mapo tofu, fried chicken...)

I was here with my Chinese friend. Very good food, but you have to be a bit careful with anything red that looks like chili, as it can get a bit spicy. But it's really great value for money. Service was a bit slow, but still highly recommended.

I'd like to mention one small point, which is becoming increasingly important in these modern times: payment methods. I think it's important to at least list on the menu which payment methods are accepted and which aren't. Card, yes, but no credit or debit cards. Bank details, yes, and cash, too. Great food, great prices. Consistently busy, so I recommend reservations, but if your party is small you might be able to try your luck. Its not wheelchair accessible at all, and if you have mobility problems, the facilities are on the first floor (not EG) with a curved staircase to reach them.
