The food is simply delicious. The cucumber salad is phenomenal and the Gong Bao Chicken has never disappointed me. The portions are good and the price is right. Can't understand the bad ratings on Google. Imo completely undeserved.

Authentic, delicious, very nice boss

This is a typical Streetfood Restaurant located in Schwabing. We had nice weather so we were able to sit very rudimentary on the sidewalk. The ordered food for 9,90€ was in taste and price ok. The service was soso not really friendly and not too ambitious in the service mentality. Credit card are accepted. Parking is a problem.

I cant agree with the bad review. Their food is really good and authentic! My fav is Mapo Tofu. So good😍 the service is always fast for me. But I can understand that there is one waittress that is not so friendly. The others I met are actually friendly

Trotz allem Wochentrubel der Stadt sowie dem hektischen Treiben ist es eine angenehme Oase. Ein gespritzter Chardonnay versüßt den Mittagstisch zu einem sehr leichten und köstlichem Essen. Dies ohne den Geldbeutel zu sehr zu schrumpfen. Originale Küche auf kleinstem Raum. Nur die Tische vor dem Lokal lassen erahnen, was sich hinter der kleinen Küche verbirgt. Zu empfehlen der Brokkoli in Knoblauchsud und dazu Reis…leicht und köstlich. So wie wir es mögen.

Super tasty Tonkkotsu Ramen at a fair price!

I never really write reviews, but when I just saw that Hongkong Noodles only has 3.6 stars, I had to do it. The restaurant is in a great location, the staff are really friendly, the prices are more than fair (especially considering that it is right on Leopoldstrasse) and the food is super tasty and relatively authentic, for a German Chinese. I've eaten there 6 times and have only had positive experiences.

This restaurant is very well known for its unique service. When you ordered without drinks you were initially greeted with a white eyelid 🙄, and after ordering you were asked again if you wanted to order drinks, I really felt under pressure. Apparently you can't come to this store if you're not thirsty. Paying is even worse. The waitress banged the table really loudly and hard after I paid, I don't understand why she wanted to make me feel such an emotion. Load really hard!

This place has never disappointed us. But since last 2 times, we have observed that there is change in the taste. I guess the chef is changed.

What can I say, the flavors are one of the best Chinese flavors in Munich. The ratings I assume are terrible because it’s not germanized Asian fusion food but still original Chinese. The owners or waitresses attitude as well: Don’t expect too friendly, rude is normal and authentic. Come for the flavors! Especially the pork belly dishes are to die for.

The food is really tasty and there are some nice waiters, but the older lady is TOTALLY unfriendly. She simply smashed the plates onto the table without handing them out one by one - that was the first! Then she forgot 2 drinks, maybe that could happen... but with behavior like that it's just noticeable! AND THEN when paying, when one of our cards wasn't accepted for the transaction on the EC machine, she simply ripped another card out of my partner's wallet and held it up to the card machine. Are you crazy? Really bad service, so unfortunately (despite the great food) we won't be visiting again!

Now there is a new chef who is just as good as the next one. And you can also eat more special things like pork intestines etc. Clear recommendation.

Went in the morning. I was first customer to arrive. It took 35 minutes to bring my food. But I understand that they have to prep some food and I am fine with that time. The food itself was not good. I ordered dumplings and sweet and sour chicken. The sauce was very bad. The chicken was fine but not great. The dumplings were very dry and old. The price is fine for chicken but 9€ for 4 dumplings is a lot. The worst thing was service. I asked the lady for chopsticks and had to wait for 2 minutes before she brought them. She was standing in front of cash register with my chopsticks in her hand for 2 minutes straight. She was 3 meters apart, it would take her 5 second to give them to me (I was the only customer in the restaurant). Also, you can only pay with EC card. The paying process was only very complicated. Overall, not a great service, below average food.

We eat here often, it's addicting. Have tried many things and all are so tasty. The staff is very friendly. Pics are Chicken Wings Szechuan, fried Veggie Noodles and Mapo Tofu.

It was received very hectically, queries about what was recommended were answered snippily. Rice came quickly, then the food took 45 minutes to arrive. In the end we had dry cold rice with gristly chicken. The ambience was ok. I wouldn't go there again to eat!

I do regard myself as frequent visitor, but the food standard and service level are definitely going down significantly since Covid. The Asian lady is simply horrible! Don’t understand why they never change the people there! Furthermore, it is getting smaller and smaller, while it is also more and more expensive! They even now only offer you limited rice based on hot dishes!

There is a waitress who has a very bad attitude and her Chinese is not very good. I don’t know why the boss keeps her around. When I go out to eat, I'm most afraid of meeting her at work. Sometimes when I see her, I just eat at another restaurant. The other guy, who seemed to be of Middle Eastern descent, was very nice. The price/performance ratio of the dishes is pretty good. PS: I took a look last time when I passed by and she was still there, so I forgot about it.

The taste is top notch and the service is a matter of taste. Most people who say that service is bad are those who cannot afford or are unwilling to tip. If you eat in a restaurant in Munich, you have to pay at least 5% of the meal price as service charge. Since you don’t want to tip, you shouldn’t complain about the service.

Came to this restaurant for dinner on a recommendation. The service leaves a lot to be desired. The waiters are unfriendly and frankly rude in person. The waitress from Ukraine answered "no" when asked to look at the menu. I don't recommend this restaurant.

A must try for Chinese food lovers. I actually visited several times, and I will always bring visitors here since the price is decent also. I recommend the mini wok dishes and also the crispy chicken. For the rice it is given in a bowl and you can share on the table. since in the Chinese culture it is common to share food - so we usually do that as well.

Location: it is directly at Leopoldstraße, well connected with public transportations, but not easy to park. (4.5) Environment: the restaurant has two floors. The wash room is upstairs. Usually the upstairs is empty too (4) Service: the both ladies are nice. One is from China, the other one speaks German. (5) Food: I like some dishes there but not try much the noodles. (4.5) Price: typical prices for Chinese restaurants in Munich. (4.5) Overall: 4.5 I go there for lunch once a month.

We've been to this restaurant twice three or four years ago, but the impression back then wasn't as stark as it is today. The service was very unfriendly, processed quickly and the main thing was to order, and didn't even take a minute to explain what the customer wanted to know about a dish. If you don't know your way around, you might end up ordering the wrong food...the menu isn't explained well enough. Some dishes may be good, what we ate may not be satisfactory. Duck meat was crispy, it was said, but in reality it was as dry as second-day meat can be, vegetables simply raw on the plate, not steamed a little, as they should be in Asian cuisine, sauce thinned out and therefore without the aromatic taste. And you constantly have the impression that you should hurry up so that it can be cleared away. Anyone expecting ambience, at least a little Asian flair, will be absolutely disappointed. Conclusion: even two stars are too many.

The food is okay but the service is very bad

Excellent authentic Chinese cuisine! It's no coincidence that many Chinese eat here. The price-performance ratio is also very good. Personally, I rank the Honghong just behind the much more expensive SEEN. The mediocre rating on Google can probably be attributed to the sometimes perceived brisk tone in the service. But that is also quite typical for authentic Chinese gastronomy ;) Tip: If you want to sit a little more quietly and comfortably than in the lively basement, you should ask for a table on the first floor.

Wir waren zum Fußball in München (Werder hat gesiegt) und haben anschließend dort noch was gegessen - sehr leckere Gerichte, zu humanen Preisen - gerne wieder und können wir nur weiterempfehlen 😊

Super leckeres Essen mit absolut toller Preis-Leistung. Habe bislang immer toll gegessen. Meistens voll und etwas laut. Es gibt freundliche aber auch weniger freundliche Kellnerinnen. All in all perfekt für ein schnelles leckeres Essen montags Abends..

Schrecklicher Service. Wollte, dass ich mein Bier schnell wegtrinke. Hat mich nach 1 min (nachdem ich die Speisekarte erhielt) gefragt was ich will - bei 50 gerichten - nachdem ich sagte ich brauch noch kam sie weiter im minutentakt…. Insgesamt 4 mal. Abräumen wollten sie als mein essen noch zu 3/4 da war… auch wieder mindestens 3 mal gefragt. Und beim zahlen wurde es richtig anstrengend… Die Damen standen um den Tisch herum, haben uns 5 mal aufgefordert und wollten uns nicht aufs Klo gehen lassen. Essen leider auch bei allen 6 Personen nicht gut.

Der Service war schon schlecht muss ich sagen. Die haben die ganze Zeit gekuckt wann wir fertig gegessen haben um so schnell wie möglich wieder weg zu gehen, damit andere Gäste sitzen können. Einfach unverschämt. Das Essen war auch nichts besonders.

Food is tasty, location is good, cozy, modern . Service could have been better

Dieses Restaurant hat einen Geschmack, der in China als sehr gewöhnlich gilt. Obwohl die Preise nicht so hoch ist, ist die Einstellung der Kellner sehr sehr schlecht! Nachdem wir unsere Speisen gerade gegessen haben, ging ein Begleitfreund von uns zur Toilette, und wir hatten unsere Getränke noch nicht fertig getrunken, als der Besitzer uns hektisch zum Gehen aufforderte. Der Grund war erstaunlicherweise, dass andere Gäste unseren Platz einnehmen wollten, obwohl das Restaurant zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch viele leere Tische hatte. Angesichts dieses Serviceverhaltens werden wir nicht mehr hierher kommen!

Das Essen ist wirklich gut und die Portionen sind ordentlich. Die Präsentation der einzelnen Gerichte ist auch schön angerichtet. Der Service ist ein wenig ruppig, aber nicht unfreundlich. Ein Besuch ist es auf jeden Fall wert.

Erfahrung im Restaurant war durchweg negativ. Personal behandelte chinesisch sprechende Gäste anders, erzwang Getränkebestellung, verzögerte Bestellung absichtlich. Deutsche Gäste wurden freundlicher behandelt. Ähnliche Vorfälle in Google-Bewertungen entdeckt. Überlegen Sie gut, ob Sie hier Geld ausgeben und solche Behandlung akzeptieren möchten.

Updated in Sept 2023 - in my opinion, service has improved significantly since my original review and dishes other than noodles (were already good) have also improved, slightly. Original review - To start, let me clarify the perspective I am coming from. I am from Taiwan and lived in Taiwan + China for 10+ years, in the US for 10 years and in Munich for 9+ years. I visited with 2 friends, one Canadian-German and another is English who lived in Asian for about a decade. We got 2 kinds of rice-noodle soups, one kind was fish with pickled vege & chili soup and another was hot & sour fatty beef with some Asian mushrooms. The noodle soups were very good, we are starting with 5 stars. They were hot (in temp and spice), flavorful and generous with ingredient. We enjoyed that very much. Keep in mind, the soups are authentically greasy/oily; it’s served like that in China as well. We cannot say the same about the non-soup dishes, the few we tried including dumplings, fried chicken tossed in chili and sichuan pepper and fried rice were simply rubbish. The dishes tasted bad and they came cold after we waited for a very long time! So it wasn’t the fresh cooking we were waiting for, just poor service. Stars deducted for the terrible taste and the lack of temperature / freshness. And now comes the final blow for the rating, the service is truly bloody awful. We waited for a long time to be served although there were 3 wait staff and only 2 other table of customers, one group was finishing their meal. We initially ordered everything (drinks and food) from one of the waiters, and shortly after he brought us our drinks, as expected. However, after quite a while, another waiter came and asked us what we wanted for food; we told him we already ordered, but apparently that didn’t count anymore. Finally, the soups were brought to our table by a waitress, who asked us in German (sort of) which soup belonged to who? We all speak German and as this is a pretty standard procedure in restaurants we responded. She then randomly “dumped” all the soups on the table, not in front of any of us… and i said “dumped” because she spilled all three, and walked away. We asked her if she could please clean up the spillage and she responded that she doesn’t speak German. So we repeated ourselves in English and in Chinese, and each time she said she did not understand those languages. Though it was pretty clear with our hand gestures that we needed help with the spillage. And finally when we asked for the bill, she told us no card payment (suddenly she could speak German again) while we just witnessed another table paying successfully with card. This is not even a case of us spending too little and the restaurant didn’t find the card fees justified, we had a lot of food and 2 rounds of drinks. This is purely a case of the most terrible service, poor attitude, unprofessionalism. If I can give negative scores for service, this waitress will have it. And yes it is the southeast Asian woman that the other posts were mentioning, as the restaurant has had the same staff combo for quite some time. She is particularly and purposely rude and mean to Chinese speaking guests, as a waitress of a Chinese restaurant… 😱😱😱 Anyway if you want a bowl of authentic sichuan noodle soup and don’t mind the insulting treatment, it’s ok to go 😅

Dieses Restaurant hat wirklich fantastisches und authentisches Essen. Der Service ist so unfreundlich, dass es schon wieder lustig ist. Trotzdem kommen wir immer wieder, denn die gegrillte Aubergine schmeckt nirgendwo so gut.

Ich persönlich habe in diesem Restaurant zweimal eine positive Erfahrung gemacht. Das Essen ist sehr gut, gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und gute Portionen. Das Personal ist sehr beschäftigt und nicht immer sehr freundlich.

Haben gestern eine Suppe gegessen. Als das Essen kam kein bitte, kein guten Appetit oder Bitteschön. Als wir nach Servietten gefragt haben wurden diese auf den Tisch geschmissen. Essen war auch solala und nicht richtig warm, zur Ambiente würde man in Bayern „Buatzn“ sagen. Beim bezahlen das gleiche, unfreundlich,, kein „hat es ihnen geschmeckt“ oder „danke“. Ich kann nur abraten.

The food is okay, as long as you like to have greasy and oily residue. The Soy sauce that was brought with the dumpling dish looked like it was reused, the fried rice and dumplings tasted like the ingredients were not fresh (we all felt sick for the rest of the day after eating there), and at the end of the meal we had some food left over...when we asked if we could take it to go the woman brought a single carton and dumped all of the food on top of each other like she was scraping it into the trash, never even asking us if it was okay and we were left with a gross mess of food that had been mixed up. Very unappetizing and unprofessional. To top it all off, the woman, I can only assume it's the owner or head waitress, was rude throughout the meal. When she came over to ask if we wanted anything to drink we said no and she immediately stormed off without even taking the rest of the order. When my child started feeling sick I got up to take them outside and the woman got very manic like I was trying to run off without paying even though the rest of my family was still there. Apparently the entire time I was gone she hovered over the table like a psychotic hummingbird, cleaning up the table ( which is disturbing and unwanted when someone is still eating, by the way) to make sure they knew they were being watched, giving the impression to the rest of my family that she didn't trust them. In the five minutes I was gone, they came to the table several times and when they weren't there's were staring at my family giving the impression that they thought we all would just run out without paying...we got more unwanted attention in that five minutes than we did the entire rest of the meal. Overall, I could have had a better experience by far rather than feel sick for the rest of the day and have my mood ruined. I will not be going there again.

Miserabler Service. Ich weiß nicht ob das an der Sprache lag aber die Dame hatte keinen angenehmen Ton gegenüber ihren Gästen. Zudem waren wir zu 8., haben 7 Portionen warme Gerichte + 2 Nudelsuppen bestellt und bekamen 2 halb gefüllte Schüsseln Reis. Jede weitere Schüssel Reis kostet 2€ extra. Als wir eine weitere Schüssel Reis bestellt haben, hat die Dame eiskalt unsere Schüssel mit vorhandenem Reis genommen und diese gefüllt und noch dazu abgerechnet. Ist das ein Witz?? Grüner und Jasmintee wird ohne Filter in einer Kaffeekasse serviert. Seit wann kaut man beim Teetrinken?? Mussten erstmal mit einem kleinen Löffel die Teeblätter rausfischen. Hähnchen mit Knochen und Schweinerippchen mit Knochen und das Personal gibt keine Schüssel oder Teller für die Knochen mit. Also Service ist der mieseste seit Langem!! Absolut unverschämt. Das Essen war aber selbst sehr gut! Fazit: Falls euch egal ist wie man euch in einem Restaurant vom Service behandelt und euch das Essen nur wichtig ist, ist dieser Saftladen zu empfehlen :)

I tried this place 2 times, one was yesterday. The food is good and tasty. However, the woman takes care of the restaurant is so rude. In my first time, she charged 2€ for the tap water. In my second time, she told us we can’t sit if we don’t drink anything. Unacceptable.

Ich verstehe kaum die sehr negativen Rezensionen. Es ist wahr, dass die Bedienung manchmal nicht super nett ist, aber es geht darum, dass sie von einem vollen Lokal schnell überfordert werden. Allerdings ist das Essen einfach ausgezeichnet und das Personal wird auch ziemlich freundlich, falls nichts so viel los ist

waitress was giving an attitude, i think because we are asians. because they act so nice to the caucasian people. never visiting again 🤭 we asked for extra spoons, she then brought spoons with a bitter face and told us “we already have enough spoons” we were forced to pay one second after we were done with our food (we haven’t asked for the bill anw) and she keeps on looking at our table with a bitter face (it was blatant) we were polite, quick, and we said bitte and danke everytime. pls get better waitresses.

Leider kann ich hier nicht wirklich was positives sagen. Vor allem zu mir war die Dame in der Bedienung sehr unhöflich. Das Personal war generell sehr gestresst und zu guter Letzt wurde uns ein Getränk berechnet, welches wir nicht bestellt hatten und wir mussten darüber auch noch diskutieren! Das Essen würde ich als durchschnittlich bezeichnen. Auch war die Wartezeit unangenehm. Alles in Allem war dies leider kein schönes kulinarisches Erlebnis.

Ich bin seit 2020 öfters mit Freunden hier, da das Essen wirklich sehr gut ist sowie die Preise. Leider ist der Service katastrophal und zwar jedes Mal. Getränke kommen nicht, sie setzen mehr auf die Rechnung, als man konsumiert hat, man bekommt als 6er Gruppe genauso viel Reis wie zu zweit und muss den auch noch extra zahlen, obwohl er im Preis inbegriffen ist - nachbestellen kostet natürlich auch extra :D Sie sprechen weder deutsch noch englisch, was Kommunikation beschwert. Als ungeduldige Person sollte man hier nicht hin. Das ist tatsächlich der einzige Laden, in dem ich nie Trinkgeld geben kann, weil sie einfach keinen Service bieten, unhöflich sind und teilweise eh mehr berechnen. Aber das Essen ist halt einfach wirklich sehr gut… :D deswegen gehen wir auch öfters hin

Unerwartet gut, echt gut. Wir hatten Pho Bo, Ente und Wasserspinat. Alles auf den Punkt gegart, das Pho war super aromatisch und reichhaltig mit zartem Rindfleisch. Ein MUST. Die Ente supercross gebraten mit leckere schwarze Sojasoße. Hmmm Wasserspinat mit Knoblauch, Morningglory lässt grüßen.

Unfreundliches Personal. Hektische Stimmung. Eindruck man sei nicht willkommen. Generftes Personal. Arrogant. Achtung! Bezahlung wird automatisch aufgerundet. Essen hoffentlich gut.
