LeDu Happy Dumpling, noodles in München

Hello dear LeDu team, We've been back for a long time now, and it didn't disappoint. The dumplings were super juicy and flavorful, and €11.90 for 10 is totally reasonable. The service was friendly. Thank you, and I definitely recommend it. 🙃😌

Authentic Asian cuisine. The food is delicious.

I haven't tried any other dishes except dumplings, but I keep coming back for them and bringing my friends to try them. Very tasty!

We were looking for something a bit different and having lived in Asia for a long time, we thought, why not some dumplings for lunch. It was perfect, we asked for the fried shrimp dumplings and they came out perfect, very reasonably priced and exactly as expected. Whilst just a noodle bar, the staff were lovely and service was quick and efficient.

Very tasty dumplings 🥟 and soups🍜🍲. I loved this place. The price is reasonable. The place is small but it's worth it.👌

Ordered two takeaway meals. Both were made incorrectly. It would be advisable to have someone at the cashier who actually understands what you're ordering! It's a shame...the food is otherwise very tasty!

Very small portion for 14€ (Pekin Bowl), dumplings were good but not outstanding

Ayer fuimos a almorzar a Le Du después de dar un paseo por la ciudad. Pedimos los fideos de Pekín y las albóndigas al vapor y fritas. Pedimos deliberadamente los fideos de Pekín porque esto no tiene cacahuetes en él como dice en el tablero y en el menú. He aquí que nuestros fideos vinieron espolvoreados con cacahuetes por encima. Cuando le preguntamos si eran cacahuetes el chef lo negó, pero el cajero fue tan amable de volver a comprobar para preguntar por segunda vez. El chef discutió con la cajera diciéndole que no pedimos que se quitaran los cacahuetes, pero no tuvimos que hacerlo porque en el tablero y en el menú no dice que contiene cacahuetes. El chef entonces comenzó a golpear los platos, y las ollas que mostraban su molestia tomaron los tazones de fideos para tirarlos a la basura, dejaron caer violentamente los tazones en el fregadero y le dijeron al cajero que nos devolviera el dinero porque no nos hará uno nuevo. Volvimos a nuestra mesa con nuestras albóndigas pensando y esperando que todavía haga nuestros fideos, pero no! Mientras esperábamos y tratábamos de comer nuestros dumplings que por cierto es demasiado picante (no pedimos los picantes porque tenemos niños con nosotros) , el cajero volvió con dinero en efectivo a mano para devolver nuestro dinero y dijo que el chef no quiere hacer uno nuevo. Qué grosero y qué decepcionante. Definitivamente no recomiendo este lugar a menos que cambien el chef. ¡Él no era un feliz dumpling!

I’ve been coming to this LeDu for a few years now and have brought friends here. This year I have noticed that the quality of the dumplings have unfortunately gone down. Still, i enjoyed the noodles and went here again today. Around noon, we ordered 2x the Peking Bowl, which my kids and I had enjoyed before. When it was ready, we were surprised that it had peanuts on top. My kid and cousin who were with me are both allergic to peanuts, and so we asked if the peanuts can be taken out. First the chef said that there was no peanuts. Then the cashier confirmed that they were actually peanuts. Next, chef said that peanuts were specified in the ingredient list on the menu (it was not, and the cashier confirmed we were right). Chef acted really annoyed and was banging pots around. And finally, he refused the cashiers‘ request to make us new bowls. In front of us, he told the cashier to give us our money back for the bowls. I asked the cashier to talk to the chef while we wait for our bowls by our table. She later came and apologetically gave us our money back, saying that the chef refused to make us our order. This was just crazy! I understand now why the usually full place was empty around noon. I‘m so sorry I wasted my time there today. I’m definitely not going back there again!

Yesterday we went to Le Du for lunch after a walk around town. We ordered the Peking noodles and both the steamed and fried dumplings. We deliberately ordered the Peking noodles because this has no peanuts on it as it says on the board and on the menu. Lo and behold our peking noodles came sprinkled with peanuts on top. When we asked if those were peanuts the chef denied it but the cashier was kind enough to double check to ask a second time. The chef argued with the cashier telling her that we did not ask for peanuts to be removed but we didn’t have to because on the board and on the menu it does not say it contains peanuts. The chef then started banging the plates, and pots showing his annoyance took the bowls of noodles to throw in the garbage, violently dropped the bowls in the sink and told the cashier to return our money because he will not make us a new one. We returned to our table with our dumplings thinking and hoping he will still make our noodles but no! As we waited and tried to eat our dumplings which by the way is too spicy (we did not order the spicy ones because we have kids with us), the cashier came back with cash on hand to return our money and said the chef does not want to make a new one. How rude and how disappointing. Definitely do not recommend this place unless they change the chef. He was not a happy dumpling!

Always really good food, the hot tofu soup noodles have been my choice for years and has never disappointed!

Really good dumplings, and the interior is nice too. The shop seems to be quite busy, though, so I had to wait a bit longer. It's definitely worth a try.

Visually appealing, but disappointing in taste and not worth the price. The filling was almost entirely glass noodles and carrots. The neighboring table left almost everything.

This is my happy place when I visit Munich. The food is amazing, the staff is kind and the atmosphere is cozy. You get a great amount of food for a decent price, and the bowls literally heal your soul. Authentic Chinese cuisine at its finest. I can't miss it if I'm in town!

Great hole in the wall restaurant near the Old Town Square! The rice noodles are infused with flavor and delicious, and contain a good portion of both meat and veggies. The amount of spiciness was perfect as well. The Jianbing was delicious as well. It's also very affordable.

05/2025 We had a delicious meal here. The staff was very friendly. Everything was perfect. Nice courtyard for outdoor seating.

How much Schweinshaxe can you really eat? We needed a change of palette after a week in Munich and found this happy little shop. Overall great flavors and friendly folks. After this meal we returned to finding more Schweinshaxe. Apparently you can eat a lot of it!

After the coronavirus pandemic, I went back to Ledu, but the experience was disappointing. The noodles had changed, and everything wasn't as good as before. The location hasn't changed, but the taste has. I'll stay away from the restaurant in the future.

A different kind of dim sum. The noodle soup was delicious, we went in spontaneously and would eat there again anytime 👍

Very tasty and price is good! The dumplings were perfect and everything tasted different. In my opinion the salad was very small and way too spicy.

From one Asian/chinese tourist to another — this place hits the spot 🙂‍↕️ especially on a cold rainy day, nothing is better than a piping hot bowl of noodle soup. Was so touched by the taste of mala that I almost shed a tear, always nice to have a taste of home 😭 I ate bread, fried pork chops, and cold side dishes for many days in Germany. . . Finally I can't stand it anymore! Drinking malatang on a rainy day, I was moved to tears 😭❤️

Ordered noodles and wonton noodles. The beef noodles are very generous, and the soup tastes very good, but the noodles themselves are average. The location in the city center is easy to find, and it's a good place to eat when you're tired of walking on the pedestrian street. The store is not big but very clean, but the bathroom is very small.

Always happy to come back. Super tasty dishes. You can also eat well vegetarian or vegan here. The salads are highly recommended. There are also delicious dumplings and great soups here. You order at the counter, pay and get a beeper, as soon as the alarm goes off you get your food ;-)

I ordered dumplings and they were definitely tasty. The price was reasonable. You order at the counter, get a buzzer, and pick up your food when it’s ready. The atmosphere wasn’t really for me, but it’s clear they put effort into it and I can see how others might enjoy it.

Ledu Happy Dumplings in Munich is no longer an insider tip - and rightly so! We got the dumplings to take home and were thrilled. The service was very friendly and the dumplings were simply incredibly tasty. You can taste that the dough and filling are homemade – really good quality! There were also two sauces, both well balanced and really tasty. If you love dumplings, you should definitely stop by here!

Don't understand the bad reviews. The dumplings taste absolutely great and are not as sticky as some people claim. The place is also comparatively very, very cheap and great for a warm meal. Happy to come back <3

Food was very slow to be served, and then served only in part, so that two people were eating for 10 minutes before they served the third person! Served us 2 incorrect orders. Very important to note: they state that they don’t use MSG in their cooking, but then state that it is in the Soy Sauce they serve with nearly every meal! Overall, mediocre food, served unprofessionally. “Good food and hospitality helps bring harmony to family and friends. Indifference is a form of cruelty that leads to neglect.” “Měishí hé rèqíng hàokè yǒu zhù yú zēngjìn jiātíng hé péngyǒu zhī jiān de héxié. Lěngmò shì yī zhǒng cánrěn de biǎoxiàn, huì dǎozhì hūshì.”

Not recommended! The noodles were slimy, soup was oily, they left out the shrimp, the employees were demotivated and didn't make any effort.

Ledu is an exceptional dining experience! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the inviting atmosphere and stylish decor. The flavors were bold and well-balanced, showcasing the chef's creativity and attention to detail. The service was impeccable—attentive and friendly without being overwhelming. Additionally, the drink selection was fantastic, perfectly complementing the meal. Ledu is a place where you can truly savor every bite and sip. I can't recommend it enough and look forward to returning soon for another incredible meal!

I had eaten an individual assortment of dumplings. These were tasty and well filled. Personally, they stuck too much to the basket and to each other, which led to the dumplings partially falling apart. Tasty in taste and not overly seasoned, well filled and the contents weren't mushy either. Everything is freshly prepared. Ambience modern and in keeping with the concept.

Industrial chili, non-handmade ramen, less noodles

We went for dumplings. They offer a lot of different varieties. You can have a mixed plate. We wanted one with vegetables and one with beef. It was delicious except for a little spiciness. The place is a bit small and it can be hard to find a seat. When you finish your meal, you go and put your plate on the tray yourself. I didn't use the bathroom but don't expect it to be super hygienic, I can't say the place is too shabby but it's close to shabby.

Tasty, but there were a few downsides too. And we didn't have to wait long.

love the qian bing here! Qian bing pork wu wei sauce 8/10 qian bing - beef - wu wei sauce 7.5/10 although personally I prefer its a bit crispier in the inside ( the cracker) beef noodle bowl - 9.5/10 ( according to my hubby, for me it was 8)

Terrible!!! Ordered via Ubereats for the second time and again not edible!!! The dishes are so incredibly spicy and fatty! You can't put so much oil in it to make the food more edible! Never again

A very cozy dumpling bar, that offers a good variety of food and very authentic tastes. If you are looking for dumplings of any sort this is a great place to be. It’s self service, and has a really cozy atmosphere and the seasoning of the dishes is very authentic and tasty. Can highly recommend.

It is a perfect match for Hunan people who love spicy food. Malatang is definitely a five-star restaurant. It is authentic and not fake at all. The dumplings and noodles are also delicious!

Stopped in for a quick bite randomly after visiting the Christmas market. Had the Noodle Soup Wan Tan & Tasty Beef Dumplings. The soup was perfect for the cold weather. The dumpling noodle was thicker than I'd prefer but good flavors. Recommend asking for chili sauce to add to the plates for an additional level of flavor. Overall, it's a decent place and a decent price for the proportions.

The restaurant offers a great selection of dumplings that taste really delicious and authentic. The quality and variety of the dishes convinced us! The bowls and soups also looked very appetizing, even though we didn't try them. One small point of improvement: Unfortunately, our dishes didn't come to the table at the same time, which was a bit unfortunate. This could indicate poor organization in the kitchen. Nevertheless, we would definitely come back because the taste makes up for the small weaknesses!

Very happy with my fish soup, asked for it to be spicy and it was very tasty and comforting for a cold day.

Very large portion of edamame as a starter. Fantastic dumplings that you can put together yourself for little money. No reservation necessary. Like a snack concept, coming and going. Pleasant audience. The mango matcha mochi are very good. Great value for money for Munich. Very nice and quick service. He ran the business alone with the chef. Recommended!

I was so craving and excited for their dumplings, but it's was just an okay experience. I love the idea of dumpling sampler and enjoyed some of the flavors (personally liked the beef and corn cheese the most). However, most of the dumplings came pop open with all the juice lost. The dumpling skin was so thick, so it was less flavor. It was worth it for one time, but probably won't try it again.

I recommend looking beyond the dumplings on the menu. In my opinion, the bowls and noodle soups are really very good. I actually prefer them to the dumplings. My tip is the Szechuan Bowl Just one suggestion for improvement: a customer WiFi would be more than helpful because there is virtually no cell phone reception inside.

Small but really good dumpling shop. 🥟 Here you can put together your dumplings as you like - which filling and whether steamed or fried. The dumplings are juicy on the inside and well filled. The beef stuffed dumplings are my favorite. I recommend trying the colorful mixture. There is a dumpling of every type. I especially recommend the steamed dumplings. The dough is deliciously al dente. Unfortunately, the dough for the fried dumplings was unexpectedly softer and not crispy. You order and pay directly at the counter and then receive a pager that beeps as soon as the food is ready for pickup. Tables are available both inside and outside. I particularly like that you can sit at the counter directly in front of the kitchen and watch the chefs prepare the dumplings. I'd love to come back 😊🥟

"Improved" taste...The Chinese level at the front desk is questionable...There are Chinese pastoral female boxers coming and going...

The wan tan noodle soup was good. I waited 30 minutes for my food. It is very annoying to see other 7 plus customers behind got their food first. The staff said noodle soup takes long but I saw other customers got their noodle soup before me.

The food is simply great, just like in China. Not like often in the common Chinese restaurants, Eurasia but really taste like you know it from China. Everything was freshly prepared and served hot. With self-service, all of this is available at a super affordable price. Keep it up, dear LeDu team. The ambience is a little different, modern Chinese.

Five stars for the food. The dough for the dumplings and noodles is well made, almost at the level of a Michelin awarded Taiwanese dumpling chain. But this is a very small place, you order, eat and you go.

Very nice restaurant and it went quickly. You can put together different types of dumplings, which is great!! We were there for lunch and were full. The store is nicely decorated and you feel comfortable. I can only recommend it!!

If you're in the mood for some incredible dumplings, this tiny spot is a must-visit. They might just have the best dumplings I've ever tasted. I went for the mix, and it was a great choice—each one was delicious. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to try real Chinese cuisine. Unfortunately I only tried Malatang, which tasted very good (Asian spicy). Hopefully I'll get to try the popular dumplings.

First of all, I am a Korean student studying abroad. After living in Germany for a few years, I missed Korean food, especially malatang. Even in regular Chinese restaurants, they sell Mala under the name Mala, but it doesn't taste like the Korean Mala soup. I happened to come to this restaurant today and eat ramen noodles, and it tasted exactly like Korean mala soup. Level 3 spiciness? It seemed to be about the right amount, and honestly, the ingredients weren't to my taste, but it was still really delicious!

All good but not outstanding... perfect for a little hunger in between if you like Asian cuisine!

If you're a little hungry, I can recommend the restaurant as the portions are a little smaller. The beef bowl was a bit small, but very tasty. I wasn't convinced by the dumplings, some of the fillings tasted strange, the dough was a bit too thick and the sauce wasn't my thing either.

I ordered fried dumplings and they made them steamed. I asked kindly to correct this. They returned soggy dumplings that had briefly been fried in a pan. I told them that clearly these were the previously steamed dumplings which had now been fried and made soggy. They eventually acknowledged that this is correct and gave me my money back. I told them I didn’t want the money but would rather have my properly fried dumplings. They said they don’t have time now. Super disappointed. Terrible customer service.

I like to come to the Le Du restaurant regularly. Every time I order the steamed dumplings, and in my opinion they always taste very good. The quality and taste of the dumplings have never disappointed me. The staff at Le Du are very friendly and make you feel comfortable as a guest. The food always comes quickly, which I really appreciate, especially when I stop by during my lunch break. I would love to come back and look forward to the delicious dumplings every time.

Great food at very good prices! The steamed dumplings in particular are highly recommended!

Long wait and long lines. They offer a good selection of food, some more authentic than others, but all quite good tasting. The portions aren't massive, sadly the price is. Bang-for-buck I'd say skip this place, but for a then and again indulgence, or a dumpling snack this place can be warmly recommended. The variety of dumplings that they offer is quite large. They have 10 different ones on the menu (which then again are all quite similar to each other 🫤, so nothing extravagant)

Awesome food, sometimes a bit crowded.

Considering it's my first time eating Asian food, it's really cool, I recommend everyone to eat in this restaurant.

Unfortunately, our dumplings were very dry. The batter was too thick and not well steamed. The filling was very salty and spicy.

It's a small place for having Asian or Chinese food. Menu is limited but items are good. Soup and Noodle bowl is good and so are the dumplings. The soup portion is good enough to share. Desert Baozi is little overpriced as it's a single pc. Limited seating. It's a self service place and after order need to collect the food when pager rings. After eating need to put the bowls back in the trolley. If the previous person forgot to clean up, we need to clear the table ourself before seating. Not so nice.
