Fuyuan in München

we ordered several dumplings, but in my opinion, only the Bao and Chong Fan were good. the others could taste better if they provided us with the chili sauce to dip it with, especially for the Siu Mai (this is my own preference because where i come from, we usually eat dumplings with dipping chili sauce). we ordered Yang Chow Fried Rice too, but i prefer my Yang Chow to be lighter in color and taste than theirs. the duck was ok. so at the end, it’s down to preference 😊

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Munich.

A savior for Chinese stomachs. Boiled beef for 19.9, pickled pork intestines for 17.9, the portions were huge, and they even came with rice. Coming from Switzerland, I was moved to tears. The rice came with four bowls. Overall, it was incredibly delicious!

I ordered duck, it was simply great!

There was a lot of waiting time for us, they may have been understaffed at that time. Nonetheless, the food was really good so 5 stars.

The price is reasonable and it's delicious. Hongsimchae and Peking duck are highly recommended. The chicken dish was a bit salty, but the seasoning was delicious, so I ended up eating it all. I don't recommend dim sum, but the other dishes were so delicious that I forgot about it. The rich chicken is like sweet and sour pork. The mapo tofu and beef stir-fry are delicious. The beef stir-fry had a hint of Korean jjajangmyeon, which was delicious.

I ordered one Peking duck. They gave me exactly one Peking duck, without any dough to roll it in, and without cucumber or leeks. How is that supposed to be eaten? Never again! Billed €45.

The food wasn't amazing...it was rather greasy and tasteless. There are probably better dishes, which is why people go there. I also had to wait a long time for my food (>60 minutes) because I was forgotten twice ^^

I've never experienced anything like this. As many others have already written, the service is abysmal. First, we were actively ignored, and then we had to wait almost 40 minutes for the food, even though there were only a few tables occupied. Very unfriendly service. The appetizer came after (!) the meal, and only after we asked for it. The food in general is too greasy, too salty, and heavy. The seasonings taste cheap. I could barely eat my meal because it was inedible.

If you want to enjoy authentic Chinese food, I recommend ordering shared plates. Don’t just order one dish per person and eat it all by yourself like an Alman. Anyways this place is a very authentic restaurant! :)

Good lunch specials. We had Kung Pao Duck, stirred fried noodles, shrimp rice crepe and beef with onion. The duck alone was very tasty. Beef with onion had not much beef. The other two dishes we can go without. It was very hot inside and only one fan. There is AC in the back room but only the back room.

As others have mentioned, the portion of fried rice I ordered was quite large. I'm usually a pretty big eater, but my portion was twice or more the average amount eaten in Japan. I looked at the dish the person next to me ordered, and their other dishes were also quite large. I'm not sure if they offer half-portion meals, but it might be worth asking. I think the taste was average, but it might not be suitable for people with particular tastes. Even though it's summer, the hot oolong tea I ordered with it was very delicious. When I arrived around 7pm, the terrace seats were crowded, but the inside of the restaurant was empty and I was shown to a table straight away. The staff seemed busy, but they were very polite and provided a very pleasant experience.

Went this evening after reading positive Google reviews. Started out ok, seated quickly and presented with menus, drinks ordered. Food came quite quickly, however the 2nd round of drinks ordered appeared to have struck a language barrier as they never appeared, and we were left with empty glasses on our table as the main courses were served. Portions were large and we managed to translate to request takeaway boxes but when the bill was presented, it became apparent that the menu prices were net of VAT making them appear cheaper than they actually were, so the bill was 19% more than expected (first time we've encountered this during our stay in Germany so far). Left very disappointed. Others in the restaurant got more attentive service than we did.

It's worth a try...but it's completely overrated. Relatively boring, run-of-the-mill Chinese food with a lot of MSG. There are plenty of alternatives. I've been there often and decided to go for it this time. I'll stop by again next time.

So glad to have found this restaurant, it satisfied my cravings of Chinese food after a week of western food. They have such a large variety its almost difficult to choose which one to order. I got the noodles with beanpaste and pork sauce, a mushroom starter as well as a soup. The portions are huge! The noodles can be easily shared by 2 people. Prices are very reasonable as well.

My group and I were refused service at this restaurant simply because we spoke English. We were polite and respectful, yet the two women working at the time not only turned us away but also laughed at us as we left. It was humiliating and completely unprofessional. No one deserves to be treated with that kind of disrespect, especially over something as simple as the language they speak. I would strongly advise others—especially tourists or international guests—to avoid this place if you expect even the most basic courtesy.

Fuyuan offer authentic Chinese food in Munich at reasonable prices. The menu includes starters, mains, sides and desserts from several regions in China; it also includes dim sum. Never tried dim sum? It can be thought of as small dishes that can be shared, which is excellent for those who want to try as much as possible. While the majority of menu items include meat or seafood, there some vegetarian options available. Service is prompt and friendly. There is indoor and outdoor seating (a few tables on the sidewalk). Highly recommend this Chinese restaurant! Added bonus, it is within short walking distance from Munich’s main train station.

Food was amazing and extremely delicious. We walked and were immediately greeted and seated. Staff and atmosphere was so nice and welcoming and when we needed change for parking they broke down a bill for us. Even past their closing time they did not kick us out. We really enjoyed everything and we will come back again

One of the best Chinese eateries in Munich. Authentic taste with home-made style cookings. I personally have visited this place more than 20 times -- never experience disappointment even once.

The dishes were normal, but the table and cutlery were not clean. There were some rice grains left by the previous customer. After I mentioned it to the waiter, they only replaced it, but did not replace the dishes. The plates were also greasy. I needed a cup of hot water, but they were not willing to provide it for free. The waiter said that it must be charged 2 euros, which was not humane. My wife had a stomachache across the table.

Amazing duck, cocker to perfection and server with veggies and rice. The Mapo tofu (the pic is the mapo tofu) was also really good.

Very good food, generous portions

Came here to get our asian fix after days of local food and not having rice. Giving this review as someone from SG. Food was awesome! Partly because we have not had rice and Chinese food for a while. The place serves a variety of dishes like those eaten with white rice and also dimsum which is also available at night. It is Chinese owned and they do speak mandarin. We ordered a gongbao chicken dish and a mapo tofu. They were done well, a little oily for SG standards, but tasty. White rice seems to be free with the dishes and they served it in a medium size casserole (abt 5 full bowls worth). The white rice was sooooo good we finished almost every bit of it. Those who cant finish can pack leftovers in a takeaway box. The dishes are quite large for SG size, so if you share it communal style the size of each dish is prob suitable for 3-4 pax. Gongbao chicken had slices of chicken with quite a bit of vege like peppers, mushrooms, bamboo shoots. Mapo tofu had quite a bit of minced meat and also is not the spicy sichuan kind.

It is a Chinese restaurant that is delicious, easy to eat, has a wide variety of menus, and good tasting dim sum. The food is not very flavorful. Another thing I like is Every food menu has pictures to view. In case you want to try any new menu items in the restaurant. Very convenient to travel, close to the u-Bahn, definitely go back to eat again.

Came for the Sichuan dishes and was disappointed. Definitely not authentic. Real fans of Sichuan cuisine should look elsewhere. 宫保鸡丁 & 干煸豆角 👎 Dishes come in generous portions. Price level is acceptable. Apparently more of a go-to place for dim sum/Cantonese cuisine.

This Chinese restaurant is located near Königsplatz, at the junction of Augustenstraße and Brienner Str.. It has seats both inside and outside. The space is spacious and comfortable, and there are seats for multiple people or 2 people. The red signboard contains Chinese and English, which is highly recognizable. Since I wasn't very hungry, the menu was clearly marked in German, English, and Chinese. The staff could speak Chinese, so ordering was stress-free and felt very friendly. This time we mainly focused on Hong Kong cuisine and ordered a plate of Yangzhou fried rice and hot and sour soup. The overall taste is acceptable to me as a Taiwanese. It's not greasy or greasy, nor is it too salty or spicy. It is worth mentioning that the hot and sour soup is rich in content, but the spiciness is not that of pepper, but more like that of chili pepper. It is a very special soup.

Best shop for genuine Peking duck in Munich! The meat was excellent, the sauce was great and the dough was nice and thin for rolling - just as it should be. Dim sums as a starter were also very tasty! It is recommended to reserve in advance - it is definitely no longer an insider tip, and rightly so! The only small negative point: the allocation of seats at the beginning was a bit chaotic.

They do have vegetarian options but as I was there, I took veggies and tofu in curry and it wasn’t something I would go there again for. My friends had duck and crispy chicken which they really enjoyed.

Decent Chinese food by Munich standards. Their Peiking duck is a standout dish: properly crispy skin with tender, juicy meat and paired with the right condiments and wraps. Other dishes are a hit and miss but the quality is passable. Dim sum here is not great though

We had reserved a table and stood at the door for over 20 minutes until we had enough and left. It was very very busy and the tables were very close to the door, so the people eating had the line in front of them the whole time.. door to door to door to front door. I'm glad we changed venues. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the service and the food and it was recommended but if you make a reservation and don't even get a table and stand in the door for 30 minutes while others eat. You can't watch it at all.

Highly recommended. Very authentic food. We shared all the starters and main courses. Every dish was absolutely delicious! The Peking duck was super juicy and tender. I also highly recommend the ginger shrimp.

As someone who grew up in Guangdong, the food is really, really bad. I didn't even want to take a photo of the fried noodles when they were served. It looked like a mixture of garbage and expired food. The dim sum was just OK. The attitude towards Chinese people was terrible. We had just finished eating and packed up. They took away the plates without even asking us anything. They drove us away and told us to pay the bill quickly. I have never encountered such an outrageous thing in any restaurant in Germany. On the contrary, the Japanese guests stayed from before we came until after we left. Although they had also finished their meals, they could still stay in the restaurant with peace of mind. It was an outrageous experience. I will not come again. The waiters don't have to be so hostile to the Chinese. We are all guests. No one owes you anything!

Staple Chinese kitchen. My friends and I regularly go there.

The reservation was not a reservation. The landlady didn't want to know our name, nor was there a place reserved for us. In an act of mercy, we were assigned a table for 6 people and different table neighbors were placed next to us. They also received their food earlier, even though they hadn't made a reservation. After half an hour our order was taken. The food was very good. But the space at the door was drafty and the whole experience wasn't comfortable.

Unfortunately a very disappointing experience at Fuyuan! After a cozy evening with good food (for a hefty bill of €170), we decided to tip an additional €20. But it was hard to believe: The employees were talking in Chinese and complaining about the fact that we were there for “so long” (2 whole hours) and “only” gave so little tip. What they didn't know was that one of our friends understands the language. Something like that is not only unprofessional, but disrespectful! The evening, which was supposed to remain a fond memory for us, was completely ruined. If you value hospitality and respect, you should go somewhere else. We definitely won't do it again!!!

Famous / good chinese restaurant in Maxvorstadt. So many kinds of foods but overall very good tastes as well. Cannot judge how authentic it is but always satisfied with here. Take-out is also possible when it is not too busy time. And lunch menu is highly recommendable.

Das Essen ist sehr gut. Was mich allerdings nach dem heutigen Abend wieder davon abhält erneut hinzugehen ist die Tatsache wie unverschämt man regelrecht raus geworfen wird. Wir waren um 17.30 da und nach 45 Minuten kaum dass unsere Teller leer waren wurden wir gefragt wir noch etwas möchten ( mein Radler war noch halb voll). Nachdem wir verneinten ( wir hatten ja auch noch zu trinken) wurde uns gesagt der Tisch würde benötigt werden . Die Kellnerin kam darauf noch zwei drei Mal innerhalb der nächsten fünf Minuten und schaute uns gestresst an so dass wir schließlich zahlten - das geht gar nicht und ist uns hier leider schon oft passiert aber so massiv wie heute noch nicht! Zumal das Restaurant einen weiteren Gastraum neben dran hat und der war komplett leer. Wir kommen nicht mehr

It tastes terrible. The shredded fish-flavored pork is not even fried and is all lumped together. The beef brisket is not even made with star anise. It is not as delicious as the soy sauce beef stew. The best authentic Chinese restaurant in Munich! My absolute favorite for celebrations or friendly lunches, where dim sum and larger main courses are placed in the middle of the table and shared. I suspect the negative reviews are more about the “Chinese around the corner” that caters to German tastes. That's not the case here, and that's why I come back again and again.

Food was average, not really refined. Couldnt feel any passion init, also they really stressed about ordering again while just enjoying the time of eating. Left after that, as it seemed they stress about having to order quick.

We were hungry for a delicious duck in the cold autumn weather and were not disappointed! As a starter we had Peking soup and Char Siu Bao, both of which were really delicious! The Peking duck was crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside. There was also hoisin sauce. The portions are plentiful and reasonably priced. The service is very attentive, we will definitely come back. It may be advisable to reserve on Wednesday. It was very crowded today.

The older lady: Nope! And left again after we accidentally chose the cheaper meal and didn't pay attention to the times. Sorry, we didn't know. I'm not from Munich and have never eaten in this restaurant! Nevertheless, we still order something. Normally that was the point at which we actually wanted to leave straight away. And that has nothing to do with “German fussiness” because we are Turks. Be careful: For 10 spring rolls, 2x fried pasta plates without meat and 2x cola... we paid €36!!! 36€!!! Pure rip-off for US. Food itself was OK, but nothing more. Really not. We imagined something different and bigger for the price. Ambience nothing special. Staff as they should be… Except for the older, cheeky lady. I doubt the authenticity of the reviews here. Definitely not here anymore.

The food was really good, especially the Cha Siu Bao and the fried noodles! This is one of my favorite restaurants that I go to after Oktoberfest or when I'm out with friends and the vibe is really chill. The only thing is the service because they take a long time to serve us every time, whether the place is pact or not... But overall, the taste of the food makes it worth it to come here every time.

Good Chinese restaurant and recommended choice if you eat meat. If you are veggie (like me) or vegan, best look elsewhere as they only have veeeery limited plant based options. I had the fried noodles and they had been plentiful and delicious.
