The food itself is great, a rare Yunnan flavor in Munich. But I hope that those who come to eat later will not encounter a bunch of people who have reserved a table in advance for a party, otherwise they will skip your meal and make you wait for an hour without any notice.

Must-try Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles and Braised Rice Noodles

My favorite Chinese food in Munich! Since the introduction of Yunnan cuisine, I will go there 1-2 times a month. The proprietress is friendly and down-to-earth, and the food is delicious. It can be said to be a canteen for southwestern people. My favorite is red three-chop/fried pork with pickled vegetables/small pot rice noodles/cold rice noodles/minced meat wrapped in tofu. The limited time menu on the small blackboard appears from time to time. I’m also very surprised. Occasionally I can eat vegetables such as stir-fried lettuce and stir-fried winter melon.

It was good before, but it deteriorated significantly in a few months. The food was served very slowly, the food was too salty and sour, and the ingredients were not good!

The price of brown sugar glutinous rice cake is as high as 8.9 euros, but there are only five pieces. Moreover, it tasted like a pre-cooked dish and was over-fried, resulting in an extremely hard texture that was almost impossible to eat. The price and quality are simply outrageous and totally not worth it. Highly not recommended! Der Preis für die Klebreisküchlein beträgt stolze 8,9 Euro, aber es gibt nur fünf Stück. und Absolut nicht gerechtfertigt. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen!

Relatively good food, the lamb kebabs were very good, but the soup was a little bland. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was beautifully decorated and the outside area was very comfortable

Really great value for money! Large portions and the taste is convincing.

Location: it is a bit outside of the city but next to U-Bahn station. The restaurant offers private park places for guests, and you could find parking on the street too. (4.5) Environment: they have a smaller area at front of the bar and a big area inside. Both with windows, the color and decoration is bright and youth. (4.5) Food: everything is so delicious!! You can just order everything I ordered today, all recommend. 薄荷排骨、腌菜炒肉、过桥米线 are all recommended too. (5) Service: the owner lady is very nice and welcomed. She gives us good advices. (4.5) Price: I think it is fine for a decent Chinese restaurant. We only have two person but we ordered too many because everything we wanted to try. (4.5) Overall: 4.6 It was the second time and I will surely comeback.

Best Chinese food I've eaten in Germany so far. We were a small group and ordered across the board for everyone. Everything was very tasty, fresh and tasted great. Especially the dishes from the Yunnan region ❤️. Special dish rice noodles over the bridge must be ordered in advance. Price/performance is also great. Large beer garden. Interior modernly furnished...not with any of the other bells and whistles. Service (boss) was top. Lots of Chinese guests, that speaks for itself. You only have to have time if you come at peak times or if it is full. It worked very well for us (early evening). Immediately again!

Overall it's delicious and the service is very good. I will go there again.

The first time I ate it was delicious, the second time I was confused, and the third time I was blocked. All this happened within two months when the menu dropped severely and the ingredients were gone. Later, I used other methods to fool the customers into thinking they were fools. The mutton pot you have eaten is made of mutton slices. Of? Is Kung Pao Chicken fried with pork?

Very good Chinese dishes. Friendly service. As a result of the "bare" interior design, the acoustics are poor. The babble of voices from the guests is quite disturbing. It's much quieter on the terrace.

Very slow service, we waited about 15 minutes for the menu, no one came to us for our order for 10 minutes, we waited for food for 30 minutes. We ordered 2 soups - Wan-Tan and Tom Yam Gai. Both are average, no surprises. Tom Yam did not contain coconut milk, kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass and galangal, chilli pepper, cherry tomatoes. The soup is not spicy at all and not particularly rich. Wan-Tan is also bland. Other diners' hot dishes looked and smelled delicious and would be worth returning to in the future, but I don't recommend the soups here.

After we decided to open the outdoor area when the weather was good, the order was placed. With the wine there was water from a strange Volvic bottle (I had them show me later because I didn't get a bottle of water but a glass). €4.50!! The food was okay, brought by an overwhelmed waiter. The kicker: One of our guests from Florida asked at the counter to order a taxi. He has to do it himself!! He said he didn't know the street name. The phone and a business card were then handed to him!!! Once there and never again!!!!!!

The Yunnan dishes were super delicious and tasted very good! -Rice noodles over the bridge: A dish more for 2 people. The hot broth was served in a kind of large stone bowl. The waitress then gradually added the ingredients into the soup. The aroma of the broth was mild, yet rich in flavor, fresh and delicious. It tasted like the meat bone had been cooked for a very long time (broth containing collagen), hence the slightly creamy, clear broth. The bowl/portion was very large. Absolutely recommended! -Spicy rice noodle soup with minced meat: The soup was slightly spicy, nicely spicy and rich. The Sichuan vegetables in the soup went so well! So delicious! -Spare ribs with mint: The spare ribs were finely chopped, nicely spicy, dry-fried and slightly spicy. Also very tasty! I thought all three dishes we tried were very good! The soup dishes in particular tasted outstanding. The spare ribs were also really tasty. The service was very friendly and attentive. The prices are in the medium, high range, but the portions are huge and taste very good. I highly recommend that you order/try the dishes from the “Yunnan Province Specialties” menu. If you want to try very good, authentic Chinese dishes, you should come here! I would describe the dishes as comfort food.

The food is far from real Chinese food! No talk of authentic!! And the fried duck is not fried but made in the fryer! Everything adapted to German taste - a shame!! The service - when 2 tables are occupied, it becomes hectic and goes wrong!!!

A rating of four point two is too high. I have been visiting this store in Xiaohongshu for a long time, and I finally had the opportunity to check in. However, hmmm: The ingredients are very average and the taste is not as good as domestic university cafeterias. If you want to improve your food, go to other restaurants. It took a long time to wait. The waiter was like an NPC throughout the process. He was much nicer to the Germans than the Chinese. The environment was greasy and shabby. I won’t go there again anyway.

It is difficult to eat such unique Chinese food in Germany. The portions are generous and the service is very friendly. It would be even better if I could make black three chops in the future!

It’s not a trap, but the price/performance ratio is slightly lower. The signature Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles, priced at 26€, is a bit expensive. The 16 grids are full of ceremony, but the portions are all one-size-fits-all, with vegetables accounting for most of the portion. The lotus leaf pork ribs were crispy and not bad, but the cut was too small. It's quite comfortable to eat in the restaurant garden in summer.

Whether a store is good or bad, service attitude and whether the food is delicious should be as important. Even if the food in this restaurant is slow, they serve food first to people coming from behind, pretending they can’t see us and don’t know why.

Food is very good and authentic, but unfortunately if you go at a peak hour, you usually have to wait for around 45 mins to 1 hr to get your dish served. Kinda feel the service staffs are not trained very well and the service is not very organized in the restaurant

Last month I explored new Chinese restaurant for my Asian’s tongue or taste. China Restaurant Joy’s chef quite good. Order fried beef and dumplings soup. Drink was special looks weird but refreshing delicious. However the fried ice cream just so so.

The food comes very slowly! Shrimp tastes too sour! We don't like it at all!

The food was very good, I think it was the best I have ever had in Chinese food. The staff only speaks Chinese and very basic German. Difficult to speak with them in English. Careful with that. Fortunately, a citizen who spoke Spanish helped us with the waitress. The abundant dishes to share, there were 4 of us and we were very full. The only detail is the language.

An absolutely authentic Chinese restaurant with many Chinese guests. The duck is a dream, the meat juicy and the skin crispy.

Delicious noodles (xiao guo mi xian) and interesting drink (pao lu da), we even went there twice. Their signature Guo Qiao Mi Xian looks fancy and can easily feed 2 person, though I personally prefer the more spicy and savoury Xiao Guo Mi Xian. While the mint spare ribs are quite dry, not really our taste. Overall, food looks authentic. Service is quite slow, we waited for 1.5hours to order + receive our food the first time we went. It was quieter the second time and we received our food much faster. The staff is quite friendly though.

The food here is really delicious, and the presentation is beautiful and well-designed~ The atmosphere in the store is also great😍 Overall, it’s a very good and great experience~ Highly recommend a visit! ! ! The only drawback is that it takes a long time to wait for the rice to be served (because many people are busy, and the main reason is probably because it is fried and cooked~) 🥺, but because the rice is delicious and the drinks are delicious, It’s worth the wait~ (Seven people ate for about 100 yuan, and one person can eat very full for about 20 yuan~)

It takes 2 hours! We arrived at 6:00 p.m. Ordered in less than 30 minutes. After that, a different dish comes every 20 minutes on average. After an hour and a half, the noodles are still falling!

The drink “Pao Lu Da” is my favorite! The other dishes are also super authentic Yunnan style. The potatoes is good to combine with rice. I like rice noodles in winter, warm for stomach.

I ventured into the restaurant despite some very bad reviews and I'm glad I did. We found the food and iced tea very tasty. We didn't have to wait particularly long for the food, although the restaurant was only half full. I can't say what it's like at peak times. I also noticed the many Chinese guests as positive. We chatted quite a bit, were the last guests and the staff had already eaten themselves. Nevertheless, everyone was very friendly when we wanted to pay 😊

Mega awesome restaurant. Today we had dinner at JOY with the whole family. We came from Bern and made a stopover in Munich. I was looking for a resto that was close to the highway with parking and seemed relatively ok. The recessions have put me off a lot. But we thought to ourselves, we're hungry, we need a break and Bern really doesn't have good restos. We came unannounced at 2:15 p.m. and got a spot, even though it was extremely busy. It took about 40 minutes from the order to the delivery of the food. “That’s very fine, thumbs up #HeultLess #ItIsFrisch”. When the food came I couldn't believe my taste buds. SUUUUUPER delicious “What a great soup with mint and beef was that?” My absolute favorite restaurant in Munich… The 1 star comments are absolute rubbish, plus most of them are bad comments from Asians, I smell something there and it stinks a bit of ENVY! Please go there yourself and try your luck. Yes, you have to wait, that's how it is when the food is fresh. But the wait is worth it. #I love it

Ganz nett, Essen war lecker, Preis Leistung ist gut, nur der Service war nicht so gut, man musste schon auf sich aufmerksam machen, ein Gericht wurde aber leider vergessen...

上菜超慢，等了将近一个小时才端上来一碗米线。上后面几道菜时，几乎是甩在桌子上的，服务员很不注意卫生，吐沫星子都喷到菜里了。室内空气不流通。三个人付了130多。还得祈祷不要得什么传染病。下次不会再去了。

菜品挺多的，价格有点小贵。服务有点慢，不太积极。店挺大的，有洗手间。可以刷卡。店面有点偏远。

Sowohl das Essen als auch die Atmosphäre unterscheidet sich hier wohltuend vom sogenannten "Chinesen". Das Essen ist hervorragend, hier scheint man kein Glutamat zu brauchen. Das Ambiente kommt hier aus ohne Rote-Laternen-Dicke-Buddha-Kitsch. Wunderbar. Hier scheinen auch Chinesen gerne zu kommen.

Die Chefin ist super nett und das Essen schmeckt hervorragend, nur zu empfehlen! Seit Neuestem gibt es sogar Spezialitäten aus Yunnan. Die Nudeln aus der Gegend sind sehr gut, jedoch muss man beachten, dass eine Vorbestellung notwendig ist, weil der Koch viel für dieses Gericht vorbereiten muss. Komme jederzeit gerne wieder!

China Restaurant Joy has a rather unassuming menu, but the real treat is the special dishes on the blackboard at the entrance: here you find some very authentic Yunnan dishes that are quite rare in Germany, such as Yunnan Bridge Rice Noodles 過橋米線, Spareribs with Mint 薄荷排骨, or Chill Tomatoes with Minced Meat 紅三剁. They have a true Yunnan chef, which is quite refreshing given that most Chinese restaurants in Germany are of a similar style. We came with very high expectations. Overall, the style of Rice Noodles is correct, you do get the same sensation as in Yunnan. The pricing seems fair. However, although nothing is wrong with the dishes, they are also not particularly amazing. From zero to one, this is definitely one of the good Chinese rice noodles available. The thing is, there are also a lot of good Vietnamese rice noodles nowadays, and among the bigger competition, it needs more to persuade people to drive here regularly.

Essen normalerweise sehr gut. Wenn man nach 120min Wartezeit allerdings mitgeteilt bekommt, dass die Bestellung verschlampt wurde, dann ist das zu viel :(

Das Essen ist gut und authentisch. Der Service ist bei gut besuchtem Lokal unaufmerksam, Hauptgerichte werden vor der Vorspeise serviert und man muss sich mehrmals beim Kellner bemerkbar machen, wenn man etwas benötigt. Bei Nichtstoßzeiten ist der Service besser. Müssen wir nochmal ausprobieren.

Ich war heute mit einer Freundin essen. Zu meinem Bedauern muss ich leider mitteilen, dass sowohl der Service als auch das Essen zu wünschen übrig lassen. Das essen war viel zu ölig und wurde erst nach eine sehr langen gebracht. Als wir nachfragten wieso es denn so lange dauert wurde uns mit einem spöttischen Ton mitgeteilt dass heute viel los sei. Auf keinen Fall weiterzuempfehlen. Der Preis ist auch recht hoch.

Das neue Gericht, Reisnudelsuppe in Yunnan Stil (过桥米线) ist eine Seltenheit, wenn nicht einzigartig, in München, gar im ganzen Lande. Serviert wird ein heißer Fond in einer heißen Schale mit 18 feinen Zutaten auf 18 schönen Tellerchen, sowie eingeweichte Reisnudel. Die Nudel und Zutaten werden nacheinander in den heißen Fond eingegeben. Nach kurzem Warten und visuellem Genießen, der Geschmack der vielfältigen Zutaten im Fond entfaltet, ist die Nudel auch schon für den weiteren Genuss bereit. Jede Nudelsuppe wird von ihrem Fond getragen. Hier wird der Fond selbst hergestellt, ohne Zusatzstoffe, wohl tagesfrisch aus Suppenhuhn, Knochen etc. aufbereitet. Das schmeckt feine Gaumen sofort heraus. Eine Authentizität, die auch in China sehr rar geworden ist. Aus diesem Grund sollte man das Gericht vorbestellen. Es kann leicht passieren, dass der Fond ausgeht. Aber die anderen Speisen sind auch sehr authentisch und geschmackvoll aufbereitet.

Ein etwas anderer Chinese der in allen Bereichen deutlich von der "Norm" abweicht. Modernes, nicht das übliche China Ambiente, moderne, authentische, hochklassige und absolut frische Küche mit wenig "Fertigware". Mit dem Service selbst muss man manchmal - wenn Andrang- ein wenig Geduld haben, aber das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich.Wir kommen gerne her.

Heute endlich mal ausprobiert und die Enttäuschung war gross. Die Einrichtung ,das ganze Ambiente, ist ungemütlich mit vielen enganeinander gereihten Tischen, auf denen einfache Zettel für Tischnr. drankleben. Waren heute mittag die einzigen Gäste, sonst möchte ich da nicht wie eine Ölsardine drinsitzen. Das gilt auch für die Bestuhlung im Aussenbereich. Lädt nicht zum verweilen ein. Essen war gut aber auch nix besonderes. Aber wenigstens steht kein Aqarium im Laden.Grosses Lob, und unsere Bedienung war sehr freundlich!!!

Eines der besten chinesischen Restaurants, in dem ich je war. Wahnsinnig leckeres Essen, eine besondere Auswahl an Gerichten, großartig und mit viel Feinsinn abgeschmeckt. Dazu super freundlicher Service und ein schönes Ambiente. Alles super, wir kommen bald wieder :-)

Sieht von außen etwas unscheinbar aus, aber überzeugt von Innen und vom Essen dafür um so mehr. Klare Empfehlung wer authentisch chinesische Küche mag.

Wir waren seit der Eröffnung nun schon mehrmals Gäste im Joy und sind wirklich begeistert. Nach der Renovierung sind die Räumlichkeiten wirklich schön geworden, der Service ist unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Essen hat uns bisher auch immer sehr sehr gut geschmeckt! Die Produkte schmecken alle frisch und die Gerichte sind alle super abgeschmeckt. Wir kommen in Zukunft definitiv öfter!
