The food was good, but the service was terrible. I had to get the menu myself twice in a row. I asked if I could order, and I said yes. But when I looked up, the person ran to the uncle's table next to me. I don't know if they think students don't have purchasing power or what. Foreigners, tourists, and uncles were all served, but we, the students, were not. I wasted the food on this table. I felt bad after going there.

On Sunday, the two of us went out to dinner. We ordered a pot of tea together. When it came time to pay, we were told that it was charged per person – so 16 euros for a pot of tea. What a rip-off! We'll never go to that restaurant again.

I felt offended by how I was treated here. When I was leaving, the owner questioned whether I had paid, in a way that made me feel distrusted and singled out. It was disrespectful and unnecessary. As someone who has never experienced this in any restaurant — I found it unacceptable. I will not return and do not recommend this place.

We went there spontaneously for dinner and were pleasantly surprised, both by the food and the interior. From the outside it doesn't look that appealing, but once inside we felt very comfortable and it looks really smart inside, which you don't expect from the outside. The food was also super tasty. We had quite unspectacular fried rice/noodles with chicken but there are also some unusual dishes - if you would like to try something completely new, this is the right place for you

The JOY restaurant is in our neighborhood. We go there often and have tried many dishes from the menu. It is consistently excellent and authentic cuisine. After many years in China, it is a great pleasure to feel at home here in Munich at JOY and to be able to transport ourselves back to the time when we were able to enjoy China's great local kitchens. We can highly recommend the JOY. Here you will find both classic Chinese dishes and specialties from Yunnan. All are worth a visit.

I visited this restaurant to try Yunnan cuisine and was overall quite satisfied. The "Across the Bridge Rice Noodles" (Guoqiao Mixian) were excellent! The broth was rich, the ingredients fresh, and I was very impressed by the traditional preparation method. The only downside is that the space is a bit cramped. The tables are quite close together, and when the house is full, it feels a bit hectic. It would be nice to have more space to enjoy the food in a more relaxed atmosphere. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience authentic Yunnan cuisine. The rice noodles, in particular, are an absolute must!

When picking up the food, they 'forget' the starters that have already been agreed upon/selected, which are included in the price. Of course it looks like they want to save money, only at home you are surprised when the bag opens. I don't recommend it. Should you be correct? At other Chinese restaurants I also noticed the same trick. Now they have won 1 starter but lost a regular customer, congratulations, logical 🙄😅

Food was okay, nothing to complain about, but it wasn't anything special either. Unfortunately service was bad. Waiting for a free table despite a reservation. Long wait for service, drinks, food. The waiters didn't know which table got what. There were two of us and she was almost finished with her portion when mine was brought. Too bad. The restaurant is quite nicely decorated inside. But: All tables are placed very close together and there are no partitions. It was so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation. From the outside the restaurant is very ugly. We shared an appetizer, each a main course, and each a drink. Total €60. For half the price you get significantly better service, atmosphere and taste at Bami House or Chi Thu, for example.

This Chinese restaurant is a hidden gem! The eggplant dish was absolutely incredible – perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Highly recommend!

The over the bridge rice noodles were so-so but I know the typical Chinese version from Yunnan, the fried lotus minced meat pancakes were one a. The entrance to the restaurant was full of construction work, but there was always enough parking space. A visit there is highly recommended 😁

I visited the Chinese restaurant Joy with my girlfriend on Sunday evening and we both loved it. The food was delicious! We had shrimp and vegetables that were cooked perfectly. Everything was fresh and tasty. The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. The service was excellent - the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. We had a lovely evening and can fully recommend Joy. We'd love to come back!

Amazing Yunan food, nice and spacy restaurant

Very authentic and tasty Yunnan style food, as well as other Chinese dishes. It was extremely busy so a bit of a wait when we were there but could have been due to Chinese New Year's possibly.

I honestly can't understand the good reviews! There are other authentic restaurants in Munich that are much better! The food was OK - nothing more! We were only served after 20 minutes upon request! It is extremely loud and uncomfortable in the restaurant! The table was sticky and when the tables were cleared, no table was wiped down! The worst thing for me is that it smells like a chip shop! Hard to bear! Everything came at a different time - totally impossible! Not once were we asked again if we needed anything else! Everyone in there is unfriendly without exception! Anything but warm! I'm really angry that the four of us (2 adults and 2 children) left 110 euros! Especially since we all have to deal with our stomachs now! If I have prices like that, then I have to offer my guests good service and a cozy atmosphere! We wanted to have the rest of the kids packed up, so they gave us 3 small plastic boxes - you have to do that yourself too! You won't be said goodbye when you go out! With 80% Chinese occupancy, we had hoped it would be authentic and good - but unfortunately we were unlucky. Thank God we have another Chinese restaurant in Munich where we receive very friendly service and the atmosphere is also good. We are welcome there too!

Very delicious and, above all, authentic Chinese food! We've already been to the Chinese province of Yunnan and can confirm that the food at Joy tastes just as good as there! The portions are very generous, and each dish has its own unique and distinctive flavor. However, the service could be more attentive; you have to actively ask for refills of drinks, for example, and the dishes arrive with a delay. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Do not go there. The food is hit and miss, but the service is by far the worst I have ever seen in my life in over 50 countries. After we made the initial order, the waiters NEVER came to the table to take away a dirty finished plate. They just kept piling up until there was no space left. They never offered any drinks after we’ve finished ours, never offered the desert menu. It got to the point where I literally had to walk to take clean plates from a counter to replace ours. And as a cherry on top, when I had to walk up to the kitchen to order the desserts (as the waiters kept ignoring the table), they brought it and only took two plates away so that the desert would fit in, leaving all the other dirty plates lying on the table. Save your efforts, there are far better restraints in Munich than this with this disgusting level of service.

Exceptionally good food with variety of choices. This is the best Chinese food in Munich. I love their peking duck, spicy fish, mayo tofu, Yunan mint spareribs, green beans, and stir fried rice-band noodles with beef. Ginger tea is worth trying. Better reserve a table if you go on Friday or Saturday.

The food was very, very tasty, if not exactly cheap. Service was also decent, although they were already setting the table for new guests while we were still paying. That would be a minor criticism.

The dishes and drinks are good, but the desserts are really bad, very expensive, very little and not tasty. Steak: A pot of mint beef and tripe soup, stewed very fragrantly, the tripe and beef have no fishy smell, the mint and coriander in the soup are very refreshing, delicious and drinkable. I feel that it is difficult to make tofu + beef taste bad hahaha Pao Lu Da: I forgot what the authentic Pao Lu Da should taste like, but the ingredients are sufficient, the coconut milk flavor is very positive, not sweet or greasy, much better than the purple rice sago I ordered in the milk tea shop. Daifuku: 9.9 euros for 3, and one is broken. The taste is pre-made, purely business, avoid thunder🙏

Restaurant Joy is simply an awesome place for Chinese food. We can not only order famous Chinese dishes, but also a varied daily menu. I've been here several times now and each time I'm impressed with the quality of the food and the service. The service is always friendly and attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant is impressive – both stylish and cozy. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. An absolute must for Chinese cuisine lovers!

Delicious and diverse menu… The dessert is really delicious

Had dinner there today with my girlfriend, around 7 p.m. We wanted Yunnan potato pancake as a starter and then pork with yancai and spareribs with mint as a main course. The store was full! After my girlfriend received the meal of pork with yancai and I waited for 10-15 minutes and only when I asked for my food came, spareribs with mint, the mood was already irritable. At the neighboring table, out of 3 people, only 2 were served with food. When we asked, we had food for the neighbor and the Yunnan potato pancake for us. I then returned these because they were supposed to serve as an appetizer. I was also angry because I expect that you should receive your food at relatively the same time so that you can eat together and stay in a good atmosphere. That's the point of an evening/dinner together. I can't fault the food! It was very good! The service and control were terrible.

You wait 20 minutes at a table only to be seated in the winter garden at 5 degrees despite a reservation.

Definitely don't come! ! 1. The food is half hot and half cold, so I ordered it. 2. The serving speed is very slow! After one plate is finished, another plate is served, and the appetizer is served last! 3. The attitude of the waiters is very bad. They don’t respond when I ask questions. They don’t say anything if there is a problem with the food. It’s really a hell.

Tucked away in an unassuming little building in the eastern residential district lies a hidden gem of culinary delight. In Munich, good Chinese food is hard to come by—but when I say good, I mean dishes that offer authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, creative variety, and a welcoming atmosphere, all at a reasonable price. This place checks all the boxes. In fact, I was very impressed that I went twice in one week! Their “Crossing the Bridge Noodles” and lamb skewers are absolute must-tries, and we also love their Hong San Dou (Yunnan Style Red Three Chopped）. Go and try, you will not be disappointed!

The food itself is great, a rare Yunnan flavor in Munich. But I hope that those who come to eat later will not encounter a bunch of people who have reserved a table in advance for a party, otherwise they will skip your meal and make you wait for an hour without any notice.

Must-try Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles and Braised Rice Noodles

My favorite Chinese food in Munich! Since the introduction of Yunnan cuisine, I will go there 1-2 times a month. The proprietress is friendly and down-to-earth, and the food is delicious. It can be said to be a canteen for southwestern people. My favorite is red three-chop/fried pork with pickled vegetables/small pot rice noodles/cold rice noodles/minced meat wrapped in tofu. The limited time menu on the small blackboard appears from time to time. I’m also very surprised. Occasionally I can eat vegetables such as stir-fried lettuce and stir-fried winter melon.

It was good before, but it deteriorated significantly in a few months. The food was served very slowly, the food was too salty and sour, and the ingredients were not good!

The price of brown sugar glutinous rice cake is as high as 8.9 euros, but there are only five pieces. Moreover, it tasted like a pre-cooked dish and was over-fried, resulting in an extremely hard texture that was almost impossible to eat. The price and quality are simply outrageous and totally not worth it. Highly not recommended! Der Preis für die Klebreisküchlein beträgt stolze 8,9 Euro, aber es gibt nur fünf Stück. und Absolut nicht gerechtfertigt. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen!

Location: it is a bit outside of the city but next to U-Bahn station. The restaurant offers private park places for guests, and you could find parking on the street too. (4.5) Environment: they have a smaller area at front of the bar and a big area inside. Both with windows, the color and decoration is bright and youth. (4.5) Food: everything is so delicious!! You can just order everything I ordered today, all recommend. 薄荷排骨、腌菜炒肉、过桥米线 are all recommended too. (5) Service: the owner lady is very nice and welcomed. She gives us good advices. (4.5) Price: I think it is fine for a decent Chinese restaurant. We only have two person but we ordered too many because everything we wanted to try. (4.5) Overall: 4.6 It was the second time and I will surely comeback.

Best Chinese food I've eaten in Germany so far. We were a small group and ordered across the board for everyone. Everything was very tasty, fresh and tasted great. Especially the dishes from the Yunnan region ❤️. Special dish rice noodles over the bridge must be ordered in advance. Price/performance is also great. Large beer garden. Interior modernly furnished...not with any of the other bells and whistles. Service (boss) was top. Lots of Chinese guests, that speaks for itself. You only have to have time if you come at peak times or if it is full. It worked very well for us (early evening). Immediately again!

Overall it's delicious and the service is very good. I will go there again.

The first time I ate it was delicious, the second time I was confused, and the third time I was blocked. All this happened within two months when the menu dropped severely and the ingredients were gone. Later, I used other methods to fool the customers into thinking they were fools. The mutton pot you have eaten is made of mutton slices. Of? Is Kung Pao Chicken fried with pork?

Very good Chinese dishes. Friendly service. As a result of the "bare" interior design, the acoustics are poor. The babble of voices from the guests is quite disturbing. It's much quieter on the terrace.

Very slow service, we waited about 15 minutes for the menu, no one came to us for our order for 10 minutes, we waited for food for 30 minutes. We ordered 2 soups - Wan-Tan and Tom Yam Gai. Both are average, no surprises. Tom Yam did not contain coconut milk, kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass and galangal, chilli pepper, cherry tomatoes. The soup is not spicy at all and not particularly rich. Wan-Tan is also bland. Other diners' hot dishes looked and smelled delicious and would be worth returning to in the future, but I don't recommend the soups here.

After we decided to open the outdoor area when the weather was good, the order was placed. With the wine there was water from a strange Volvic bottle (I had them show me later because I didn't get a bottle of water but a glass). €4.50!! The food was okay, brought by an overwhelmed waiter. The kicker: One of our guests from Florida asked at the counter to order a taxi. He has to do it himself!! He said he didn't know the street name. The phone and a business card were then handed to him!!! Once there and never again!!!!!!

The food is far from real Chinese food! No talk of authentic!! And the fried duck is not fried but made in the fryer! Everything adapted to German taste - a shame!! The service - when 2 tables are occupied, it becomes hectic and goes wrong!!!

The Yunnan dishes were super delicious and tasted very good! -Rice noodles over the bridge: A dish more for 2 people. The hot broth was served in a kind of large stone bowl. The waitress then gradually added the ingredients into the soup. The aroma of the broth was mild, yet rich in flavor, fresh and delicious. It tasted like the meat bone had been cooked for a very long time (broth containing collagen), hence the slightly creamy, clear broth. The bowl/portion was very large. Absolutely recommended! -Spicy rice noodle soup with minced meat: The soup was slightly spicy, nicely spicy and rich. The Sichuan vegetables in the soup went so well! So delicious! -Spare ribs with mint: The spare ribs were finely chopped, nicely spicy, dry-fried and slightly spicy. Also very tasty! I thought all three dishes we tried were very good! The soup dishes in particular tasted outstanding. The spare ribs were also really tasty. The service was very friendly and attentive. The prices are in the medium, high range, but the portions are huge and taste very good. I highly recommend that you order/try the dishes from the “Yunnan Province Specialties” menu. If you want to try very good, authentic Chinese dishes, you should come here! I would describe the dishes as comfort food.

A rating of four point two is too high. I have been visiting this store in Xiaohongshu for a long time, and I finally had the opportunity to check in. It is difficult to eat such unique Chinese food in Germany. The portions are generous and the service is very friendly. It would be even better if I could make black three chops in the future!

It’s not a trap, but the price/performance ratio is slightly lower. The signature Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles, priced at 26€, is a bit expensive. The 16 grids are full of ceremony, but the portions are all one-size-fits-all, with vegetables accounting for most of the portion. The lotus leaf pork ribs were crispy and not bad, but the cut was too small. It's quite comfortable to eat in the restaurant garden in summer.

Whether a store is good or bad, service attitude and whether the food is delicious should be as important. Even if the food in this restaurant is slow, they serve food first to people coming from behind, pretending they can’t see us and don’t know why.

Food is very good and authentic, but unfortunately if you go at a peak hour, you usually have to wait for around 45 mins to 1 hr to get your dish served. Kinda feel the service staffs are not trained very well and the service is not very organized in the restaurant

Last month I explored new Chinese restaurant for my Asian’s tongue or taste. China Restaurant Joy’s chef quite good. Order fried beef and dumplings soup. Drink was special looks weird but refreshing delicious. However the fried ice cream just so so.

The food was very good, I think it was the best I have ever had in Chinese food. The staff only speaks Chinese and very basic German. Difficult to speak with them in English. Careful with that. An absolutely authentic Chinese restaurant with many Chinese guests. The duck is a dream, the meat juicy and the skin crispy.

Delicious noodles (xiao guo mi xian) and interesting drink (pao lu da), we even went there twice. Their signature Guo Qiao Mi Xian looks fancy and can easily feed 2 person, though I personally prefer the more spicy and savoury Xiao Guo Mi Xian. While the mint spare ribs are quite dry, not really our taste. Overall, food looks authentic. Service is quite slow, we waited for 1.5hours to order + receive our food the first time we went. It was quieter the second time and we received our food much faster. The staff is quite friendly though.
