Holy Tikka - Indian Streetfood & Bar in München

Very friendly service and delicious 😉

I've been going to Holy Tikka for 1.5 years now, and the food delights me every single time! Whenever I've been sick or going through a tough time in life, I reward myself with butter chicken, which tastes really, really good. The prices are completely reasonable considering it's Indian food and located in Munich. Don't get me wrong, food can be expensive when you go outside, but inflation unfortunately affects us all. Therefore, I'm happy to be able to enjoy a meal at Holy Tikka without breaking the bank 🥰 I do have one drawback, but it doesn't deduct a star for me: the street is very noisy. This is simply due to the trams and ambulances, as there's a hospital around the corner. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal, as the restaurant can't really do anything about it. An important bonus point that's very important to me: a good friend of mine is gluten intolerant and often has problems when we eat out. But at Holy Tikka, she had absolutely no problems afterward. I thought it was really great and very valuable.

Delicious food ,friendly staff , like it

Their naan is quite tasty! But the salad they put as a side is terrible. The carrots are dry and it looks like it’s been cut and left for a while in the open. The presentation is also awful. It is located on the corner of Max-Weber-Platz and therefore, if you sit at a table outside, you can enjoy the busy vibe of the place.

We ordered chicken korma, my husband loved it. He said it's delicious. As usual I ordered lamb biryani. I normally order lamb biryani whereever i go for imdian food. There is no extras. Don't think that there's much meat. Its delicious enough but no wow feeling. Sitting outside / terrace is wonderful.

Very good lunch menu until 3:00 PM. Butter chicken, garlic naan, and mango lassi are all delicious; it's a great place to come. The service is very friendly and attentive, but the atmosphere at Max-Weber-Platz is naturally more of a hub than a residential area. But the food is definitely delicious here.

Food tastes so-so not original but acceptable. We both order butter chicken, butter naan and coconut lassi and we both ended up with food poisoning. Sorry we definitely can not return after that experience, even the restaurant is near my school.

A cute, cozy Indian restaurant with very friendly and attentive service. The food was truly delicious – the meat was tender as butter and the sauces were simply delicious. We did have to wait a bit longer for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't full, so you should allow a bit more time. Overall, though, I was very satisfied and would definitely come back.

I ordered mixed vegetable pakora felt like I am in India but was less spicy. The restaurant features a stylish, modern ambience. Aman Singh's Service is generally praised as friendly and efficient, despite occasional inconsistencies.

This place was way better than my friend made it sound! The food was really tasty—I got the Holy Tikka and the chicken was super fresh and nicely marinated. Aman was my server and he was really kind, attentive, and thoughtful. He checked in several times to make sure everything was good and made me feel really valued with his suggestions and the way he listened. The Indian Sun, a mix of prosecco and mango spritz, was delicious. Definitely recommend!

Practically “your neighborhood indian restaurant” with a modern twist, meaning no white tablecloths and book-like menus. Curries, biryanis, samosas and tandooris remained. Palak Paneer was creamy and flavorful as well as aromatic masala chai. Overall: familiar tastes in a modern setting, no thrills. Nice outside terrace with plenty of space and division from bikers/pedestrians.

Food was excellent, staff was extremely friendly, accommodating and organized. Made for a great way to end an enjoyable day in Munich. We will be back! Update - we were back and it was just as good on our 2nd and 3rd visits!

SUCH a nice break from the regular food you find around here. The staff are beyond kind, and the food is DELICIOUS! Seriously can’t recommend this place enough. Comes with big portions and intense flavors. Staff speaks English, which is helpful for travelers.

The food was extremely delicious and the owners were extremely nice. Everything is homemade here, not bought in like in some Indian restaurants. The location is also great, as it's right next to the Max Weber Platz subway station. I'd recommend the mango cream for dessert.

Personally, I am a restaurateur. I know a lot about food and dining, but I won't go there again to eat lukewarm food because there's no response from the staff when I complain, it's catastrophic, I'm very disappointed as a guest. Sorry, I won't recommend the place.

Pretty good food. If you enjoy spice (heat) make sure to ask for it as the dishes are not spicy.

Price-performance ratio is right and on Sunday afternoon we were almost alone in the restaurant. Gladly again.

Tried this restaurant today. The food was tasteless. I brought my wife a dish, she didn't eat it and had to go to the toilet immediately afterwards. Very disappointing

If I could give zero stars, I would. This is the worst restaurant I’ve booked through The Fork application. I’ve always used The Fork without any issues, but this restaurant is a complete exception. They advertise a 30% discount to attract customers, but once you arrive, they impose additional rules that were never mentioned beforehand. According to The Fork, the discount doesn’t apply to drinks or the menu, which I understood. However, when I got there, they told me I had to order drinks in order to get the discount, even though this was never stated. Moreover, I was told the discount doesn't apply to the starters, which was also not mentioned in The Fork. These extra conditions were only communicated at the restaurant, which feels like a dishonest way to maximize their profits. On top of that, they were not understanding at all when I raised these concerns. This is not how a customer should be treated, and it’s clear that transparency and honesty are not priorities for this place. I would not recommend this restaurant, as they mislead customers and show no consideration

The food was very good, but came in small portions, very unusual for Indian restaurants. The drinks weren't the best. My Chai missed more spices. The food in general tasted very europeanized. The service was perfect. They were very attentive, caring and friendly.

I eat here every now and then, so far I've found it ok, average. I recently had a meal here and the food was very boring and not properly cooked. I also had extreme indigestion immediately after eating... I don't go there anymore. Anyone who can't even manage a reasonably hygienic meal shouldn't work as a restaurateur...

The food tasted amazing but it wasnt packed suitably for delivery and the curry spilled and leaked out of the container into the bag and went everywhere :( the rice serving was also not specified and we over ordered - one container of rice serves at least 2 people.

We went for a family dinner yesterday evening. The waiter was perfectly pleasant but being a Sunday, it did feel as if things were a little perfunctory. The most baffling thing was why there was "chilli chicken"listed amongst the main courses without any mention that this is a Chinese dish!! Not what we were expecting in an Indian. food was nice enough but sadly nothing special and once we had been served with our random Indian/Chinese dinners, we didn't see the waiter again until we went to find them to pay. no additional drinks no chance to ask for anything else. All in all, a rather odd restaurant experience.

Top class !!! Staff food & cleanliness !! OH & Value too. Not to be missed if you’re in Munich.

Wry nice place with super friendly people and great food

Honestly the food was decent but more importantly the staff’s behaviour towards the customers was truly astonishing. Rude behaviour and not giving cutlery when asked for. Extra plates and spoons as well as napkins were denied to be given when requested. They are the polar opposite of what Indian hospitality refers to.

Food was fine, but very rude Customer service. Extremely unprofessional and no serving etiquette. Won't recommend to people who really wish to experience Indian hospitality at it's best.

Best Indian food I have ever eaten, the boss is very nice and down to earth, service is top notch. We had a meal for two (both good eaters) and were completely full. Everything you could wish for from a restaurant is fulfilled here. Price performance is very good.

I was here today with my work colleagues. 1. Mango lassi was very sweet with too much sugar. That ruined the taste. But I still drank it for once. 2. Masala papad was very soggy and too salty. Papad is actually supposed to be crunchy. There were too many vegetables with more sauce on them. This is rather unusual. 3. Chai tasted more like milk and less like tea. 4. Main course Kadai Paneer was good. 5. We had to ask the operator to change the plates 3 times because we found leftover food and soap. At one point I can understand, it just happens. Next time I expect a clean plate to be picked up instead of a dirty one again. 6. Local is centrally located and there is a lot going on in the area. This is completely right.

The food was very, very tasty and the condition Mr. “Inder” (was actually given to us as his name) was also very accommodating. Price-performance is also great for Munich!

Holy Tikka is a culinary discovery! The food was absolutely delicious, with flavors perfectly matched. An extra surprise were the delicious sauces, something you don't often get in the Netherlands. Excellent Indian food. The biryani was fabulous. The service was great. The staff spoke perfect German, English, and Indian. The wine was yummy too. Highly recommend if you're looking for something other than schnitzel!

Relatively cheap, but the food is mediocre at best and there is little choice. The waiter is unfriendly, dismissive, not warm and communicative, like in other Indian restaurants! You have the feeling of being annoying. It doesn't reflect the Indian spirituality, mythology and mentality in any way_modern bistro like cocktail bar. If you want to munch something quickly, ok but not for lovers of Indian culture and food!!!!🕉️namaste. Friendly 2 stars

YOU MUST VISIT THIS RESTAURANT. Think no more I absolutely loved it. Every time I go to an Indian restaurant I try the butter chicken and garlic naan. Believe me when I say that this restaurant was the best I've eaten in all of Munich so far. The butter chicken was tender, creamy and for once I could actually taste that the chicken pieces were also individually seasoned well, it had that sweet and tangy taste of butter chicken as it should be, the ingredients were well balanced and overall mega. The garlic naan was soft and flavorful, not just in the first 5 minutes it was served but it stayed that way until I finished. You can tell it was freshly prepared, unlike the frozen products. On a side note, most restaurants don't put much effort into the rice served as a side dish, so it tends to be of poor quality (overcooked/dry/undercooked), but this rice was nice and fluffy. The decor of the restaurant is well done and the bar is also well stocked. The location and outdoor seating area are good. The staff and waiters are super friendly and represent the true nature of our hospitality. I will definitely come again and bring my friends!

Not bad. I was a little apprehensive given some of the previous reviews, but the starter (fish pakora) was good, the lassi was fine and I enjoyed a chicken jalfrezi (spicy as requested). Service was fine and food arrived promptly. I think I can add this place to my (very small) list of Indian restaurants in Munich. That said, there is no 'Streetfood' on the menu, which is just typical German Indian. A bit more variety would get more stars.
