Highly recommended. A very pleasant ambiance and cozy atmosphere. The staff was very courteous, attentive, and incredibly warm. If you like, you can even watch your steak being cooked – almost like live cooking. The appetizer, main course, and dessert were all worthy of five stars. Whether fish or meat, everything was cooked to perfection. I immediately made another reservation on the spot.

The food and service were, as always, top-notch! Unfortunately, I can only give 4 stars today because I was shocked by the 100% price increase for the sorbet. Personally, €4 per scoop is a bit too expensive for me. The menu on the website should also be updated accordingly, as it still shows the old price of €2 per scoop.

Very friendly service with excellent wine recommendations. The steak and the fish platter were both very good. Our appetizers and desserts were equally delicious. This was our first time there, but certainly not our last.

Tonight, I was really craving a delicious steak, so I left the hotel and headed to the restaurant. Without a reservation, I still managed to get a seat right by the grill and watched the chef cook live. The steak was top-notch, and the rest of the food was absolutely fantastic, too. Definitely recommended.

We drive 60 km just to eat here – the fillet is simply fantastic! Tender, juicy, and always perfectly cooked. It's worth it every time!

I was very surprised when I arrived. The friendly service showed us to our table. The atmosphere was nice, warm, and pleasant, except for the background noise, which is a bit loud, but that's due to the space. The food was very good, the menu was nice and manageable. The wine list wasn't too extensive, but there was something for every taste, which I found very positive. We had a very solid starter plate, followed by a steak and cod. Good value for money. We would gladly come back.

Regulars for 14 years – unfortunately, this time with some reservations We've been coming to this restaurant for our wedding anniversary for 14 years now and have never been disappointed. The quality and service have always been of a very high standard – exactly what you would expect from fine dining. This time, however, our evening wasn't quite as perfect. We both ordered the 300g medium rump steak. My wife's steak was of decent quality, but cooked all the way through. My piece, on the other hand, was very marbled, with lots of tendons and a high fat content – unfortunately unacceptable in terms of taste and quality, so I sent it back. The replacement steak didn't arrive until my wife had already finished her meal – and was also significantly smaller (estimated at most 200g). Unfortunately, it was almost raw inside (rare) and had to be returned to the kitchen. When it finally came back, it was well done. Overall, not the culinary experience we were used to from previous years. As always, the service deserves special mention: attentive, friendly, and professional – absolutely nothing to complain about! We know that even in the best cuisine, things can go wrong. Nevertheless, especially in fine dining, you can expect the quality and preparation of the meat to be checked during selection and before serving. Whether we'll be back next year remains to be seen – probably, just because of tradition. Therefore, we don't want to revise our previous 5-star ratings, but simply view this visit as a small exception – with the hope that next time it will be as we know and appreciate it.

I had an Argentinian rump steak and was absolutely thrilled. It tasted amazing and was as soft as butter. Speaking of butter, the "greeting from the kitchen" was bread and butter with an orange horseradish topping. Absolutely delicious. The price was perfectly reasonable. The service was very friendly.

Wir können ruhigen Gewissens schreiben, das der Abend phantastisch war. Es war für 14 Personen reserviert, eingedeckt war wie es sich gehört, die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam. Unsere Gäste bestellten quer durch die Speisenkarte, alle waren sehr zufrieden, alles auf den Punkt in der Küche gefertigt. Preis/ Leistung war überraschend gerechtfertigt . Nur das dazu gereichte Brot sollte nicht vom Discounter sein und die Pfeffersosse schmeckte etwas künstlich.....

The wine and desserts also impressed us. Unfortunately, we don't live in Bamberg, otherwise we would definitely come here more often.

The food was great. I would recommend a seat at the counter to anyone visiting, whether alone or with a partner. My food was freshly prepared in front of me, and I was still surprised at how quickly it arrived, even though the place was full. A reservation is definitely required, but it's completely hassle-free online. I know there are only 5 stars here, but I would have loved to give it 10 😉

Very tasty food, a must in Bamberg

Very long wait for the food without informing the guest. Starter arrived after over an hour. A main course was totally over salted, despite a complaint from the waiter in the kitchen, it was still on the bill and was then not charged after my objection. In our opinion not recommended.

I've heard a lot about the Hoffmanns restaurant - and I wasn't disappointed. They completely understand their craft. The restaurant is rightly one of Bamberg's top addresses. Truly an evening for the fine senses. However, if you have a larger appetite, you will end up with more than two dishes.

Very good food, very friendly staff, everything in perfect order. I just want to point out that I was a little surprised yesterday when a guest came in with a dog. I don't know if it's recommended in a restaurant. I have nothing against animals, but in a restaurant it's enough for him to shake himself once. It's just meant as a hint, of course you can do whatever you want.

Quiet atmosphere with an open kitchen. We were in Bamberg for 2 days and ate there the first evening. Although the restaurant was later almost full, the service and kitchen had everything under control and there were no waiting times. Friendly and always attentive. The Hoffmann salad was very fresh, with super tasty shrimp and tender strips of beef fillet. All in all, the fish plate was good, but had slight weaknesses as some of the fish was too dry for me. My son's fillet was a stunner, fried to perfection and soft pink on the inside. My wife had tagliata and was more than happy with the meat as she prefers the meat to be "well done" and doesn't like anything "red". But that wasn't a problem for the kitchen or the meat either. Everything was perfect, the price/performance ratio is great. Absolute recommendation!

Wir hatten einen Tisch in der Mitte des Restaurants zugewiesen bekommen, fragten dann aber nach einem Platz an der Frontküche, was sofort möglich war, da noch ein Tisch nicht reserviert war. Es war sehr interessant dem Koch beim Grillen auf dem Lavagrill zuzusehen. Wir hatten einen gemischten Fischteller und Surf & Turf. Beides war ausgezeichnetes. Ein aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service rundeten den perfekten Abend ab.

The food was served to everyone at the same time. The only detraction is the ambience; it was a little too cold for us in the restaurant.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the visit. I had the Hoffmanns pasta and the beef stiff was really very good. I also really enjoyed the homemade tiramisu. However, the portions are not made for large appetites. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service was very accommodating. However, I wouldn't come here for a date or a business lunch, as the ambience is nice and suitable, but the overall noise level that evening is very high. I didn't find it unpleasant to be alone, but it will probably be a bit difficult to have a conversation here. Otherwise, I can definitely recommend a visit.

How do I start? The service was very good, attentive and, above all, unobtrusive. It's a relief not to hear the increasingly common question "Is everything okay with you?" That alone created a good atmosphere with very fine and good food. Everything was very good and finely prepared. Good selection of wines. Honestly, as a local, I was wondering why I was here for the first time today? It's probably because we're in Bamberg, but mostly in breweries ;-). See you soon.

The food was very good. The employee was very rude and arrogant. Improving a guest is not possible at all. If he wants a steak "briefly fried", it is impossible to tell him what the term means in English.

Am Hochzeitstag möchte ich meine Frau gebührend ausführen. Wir kannten das Lokal noch nicht , aber wir waren begeistert und höchst zufrieden. Der Thunfisch meiner Frau war hervorragend, obwohl sie ihn well done bestellte. Meine gemischte Fischplatte pikant und delikat, die Weine aus Franken hervorragend und das Tiramisu zum Dessert einfach himmlisch. Eins ist sicher, wir komen wieder!

So good, we went twice. Menu choice was great and service excellent. Lovely to sit outside and enjoy good food & drink in warm weather.

I had a steak that was very tender and well seasoned, as were the grilled vegetables and the herb butter was great. The mushroom cream at the beginning was also very tasty and the dessert, a chocolate cake, tasted like an original brownie in the USA. The sorbet on top was perfect. Definitely recommended. The waitresses were also very friendly. Keep it up👍

We still had a voucher for the restaurant and redeemed it today. We ate the fried octopus and the fish plate once. As a starter we both had the bruscetta with chanterelles. Both were good choices. The service and the ambience were good. I can clearly recommend Hoffmann's steak and fish.

The most tender fillet around, great service and ambience. We'll be back :)! I thought it was a shame that no rose petals could be decorated for our anniversary. This hasn't always been an issue at other restaurants in the area, but it's a small thing.

Hoffmanns is a great restaurant with high standards. Fans of steak and fish will definitely get their money's worth here. The menu is short and concise. The portions are moderate, but the prices are rather generous There is a large selection of wine and spirits on a separate menu. The outdoor seating is busy. The carpaccio was very tasty and sufficient.

Erste Tischvergabe abends für 2 Stunden ab 17.:30 Uhr. Viel besuchtes Lokal, grosse Terrasse an der Regnitz, dadurch etwas laut. Freundlicher, zügiger Service, tolle Fleischqualität.

Ein Basketballcamp meines Sohnes führte mich in das „fränkische Venedig“ Bamberg und dann an einem Abend in dieses vorzügliche Restaurant. Champignon-Creme als kleiner Gruß aus der Küche, gemischter Salat mit Parmesan als Starter - klingt nicht spektakulär, war aber sehr lecker . Dann ein hervorragendes Rump Steak mit Röstgemüse, Fries, Pfeffersauce - perfekt! Guter Wein und ein schöner Mac Allen. Ein perfekter Abend und alles für (mit sehr gutem tip) 125 EUR. In München zahlt man dafür leicht einen Hunni mehr. Das Hofmanns ist eine Reise wert! Ach ja, der Service war auch prima, wie auch der Platz auf der Terrasse!

Etwas abseits vom Haupttouristenstrom findet sich dieses in jeder Hinsicht hervorragende Steak- und Fischrestaurant. Man kann gemütlich drinnen oder bei schönem Wetter auch draußen auf der Terrasse sitzen. Unser Besuch zu Viert hat uns wirklich überzeugt. Alle Vorspeisen, die Hauptgänge (insb. das Rinderfilet) und die Desserts (Empfehlung: Schokoküchlein mit himmlisch gutem Himbeersorbet) waren geschmacklich hervorragend und das alles ergänzt mit aufmerksamem und sehr freundlichem Service: Gast, was willst Du mehr ?

At this price per person we had Starters, the penne with beef fillet strips and the 300g rump steak with side dishes and dessert. The food was to die for, the service was super friendly and the evening was relaxed. Table reservation is a must. (Unfortunately, only six stars are possible.) This restaurant is highly recommended.
