Definitely original and for us the best fries variations in town. To-go, no seating inside, but you can always find a place in the city to eat the delicious fries.

Taste wise m.m.n. OK, but nothing more, and quite expensive for the portion. Even though we ate there, the box was a little soggy. Especially if you don't "open" it to your plate, it's difficult to eat standing up.

The portion is large, but moderately tasty. Friendly service, and the ability to pay by card is a plus

Heard about this place a little while back and thought we‘d give it a try. Husband had ‚the meat eater‘, I had ‚the helen‘. My husband asked for nothing but meat, fries and sauce (the meatatarian…) and the serving was good but about 3/4 of what mine was, meaning that the portion wasn’t made up for by what he asked them to not put on. Flavors are great, although the pulled pork could have a bit more ‚pow‘ from a good bbq sauce, not crazy, but a tad bit more wouldn’t hurt! The eco friendly packaging is appreciated and even after sitting for a couple hours didn’t totally disintegrate. Unfortunately no in- or outdoor seating, except for one table three feet over by another place and it was dirty so we decided to eat in our car. Bit of a bummer but oh well. We might be back, ey!

I went there for the first time years ago when it first opened. Since then, I had decided that if I ever found myself in Bamberg again, I would have to go there again! We shared a Meateater Box - super tasty and filled both of us up quite a bit. Value for money is pretty good. Maybe not the best snack on a hot day, but it's worth stopping by. If there is space, you can sit with your box by the water. Not entirely possible in bad weather, so it might be nice if you could sit inside. Otherwise great there, worth a visit!

Perfect on so many levels. (Location, price, staff, fast, delicious, the fast food that Bamberg lacks, young people) The Box is a take-away food shop with fantastic fries dishes (whether meaty, veggy or vegan) The prices are very good! The packaging is well thought out, aesthetic and practical! And the food is great!

Really tasty, good price and large portion. 3 vege/vegan versions. Interesting compositions - all ingredients can also be added or removed individually - depending on your taste. Stroke!

I base my rating on the constantly changing, 0 reliable opening times. After standing in front of a closed shop for the umpteenth time today, even though Google said it was supposed to be open, it was my last attempt to get something here. It's a shame, when it was open the food was good.

Really tasty and something different. Also a cool thing to do with kids. Then everyone can poke around in the box a little. Service has always been very friendly and if you need 4 forks for a box you can get them easily. Unfortunately, we haven't dared to try the original with poutine yet. But let's catch up.

Love this place! The owner of The box is really nice and the food is tasty as hell! especially the poutine. The Place is to-go only because the owners don't want to give their customers "The fry smell", so this is definitely no restaurant to stay at. 5 Stars

Delicious fries variations. The one with Canadian-style gravy in particular tasted delicious. They call it poutine. Otherwise it's really cool to get a beer there and enjoy the vibes in the busy street ;)

We discovered The Box by chance while visiting Bamberg and I remembered the food so much that I definitely wanted to come back. I have no idea what makes it so delicious, but I really like it there. Super nice and authentic owner and the food is simply great!

I like to come more often when I'm out of town and when the weather is nice - because this is not a restaurant where you sit in or order something for delivery. I'm really happy to have this chip shop in Bamberg. Really a great snack, I think they make it and it really fills me up, the portions are really good. I love the selection. The first place is clearly The Irish Men (if possible I would like a little more than just 1 cucumber or alternatively chop the cucumber so that it can be spread out a bit when eating), and in second place is the vegan version. Unfortunately, pulled pork didn't convince me, but it's just a matter of taste. The fries here are of good quality, well seasoned, served fresh and warm. Which would be really cool, maybe. a stamp card, e.g. to get a discount after 5-10 visits. 🤭 But even without a stamp card, I'm happy to come more often.

There is mutch food and its very tasty, which is also a reason for the long lines! The owner is a great guy and im happy that the place has reopend again!

The fries were in the fryer for so long that you couldn't pierce them with a fork. In terms of taste, it's not a highlight, it's fairly low in salt. Only the toppings chosen were really good in their combination! The currywurst we ordered without onions had onions on top in the first attempt, but at our request one was made without them; he had simply forgotten. Happened. However, the pieces of sausage were huge. Conclusion: Really expensive fries... We probably had the wrong idea.

Actually, I don't like leaving this bad review. So far I've always been happy and everything worked out. Unfortunately not at all today (04/02/24/7:30 p.m.)! It all started when I had to wait over 15 minutes for my order to be taken. Although there were only two people in front of me, both of whom only ordered one portion. It would have been okay if the employee's audacity hadn't been added. I do wonder why it takes so long to prepare two portions of fries with side dishes. You can look into the kitchen relatively openly, and she mostly just stood there and looked at the wall. Well... it only got “BETTER” when she took my order. After I ordered normally and politely, but asked that the gravy be left out, the brown-haired employee grimaced so much that I internally asked myself what was going on. She then replied to me in a very rude manner, asking why I didn't just order the other dish, which already lacked the sauce. Apart from a “sorry, I thought I could just leave out the sauce, I didn’t know,” not much came from me. But I had to wait a long time for understanding or a hint of politeness. There was none of that, but there was a neat grimace that literally expressed how stupid I was and the words that I should read the card cleverly. Of course everything was in such a mushy tone that I revised my order and simply left. You really don't have to behave in such an unfriendly and extremely snotty manner. I have no idea what went over this lady's mind that day, but you should be a little more professional when dealing with customers!! You have finally lost me as a customer, and I sincerely hope that the “NICE” lady will look for a new job.

Best sweet potato fries I've eaten, + the guy is so chill

Normally we love coming, but today the service was extremely rude. In addition, the cucumber was missing from the Irish Man and there was far too much pepper and relatively little in the box, EVEN THOUGH the prices were raised twice within a year to €8.

Absolutely declious, to the point that we went back for more right away. The concept is just loaded fries but done perfectly. The ratio of fries to sauce/toppings is superb. You are never in fear of running out of sauce. We had the meateater with poutine and the vegetarian with Sriracha mayo, both were great. The packaging design is also cute, perfect for sharing. Great fast food concept. Great drunk food. Little take out place with just a service window and no seating.

Ok Guys the three boys from today here Poutine and cheese were perfekt like always but the fries could be a little bit more crunchy just like before the reopening

So while the box is still temporarily closed, I'll take the time to leave a review here. I've never missed a restaurant so much! I can't wait until your fries are ready to pick up again.

Prices are still really fair, never raised to such an extent that you would miss it. Super tasty and the service was really friendly, opening times leave little to be desired (Sunday ♥️), we would love to come back!

Es gibt reichlich vegetarische Optionen. Perfekt für Fleischliebhaber und Vegetarier gleichermaßen.

Leider doch relativ viel Müll für "nur eine Pommes"! Geschmacklich gut, aber nicht überragend. Pommes sehr kross, wenig Salz. Sauce relativ fad. Preislich okay. Insgesamt würde ich vermutlich kein zweites Mal vorbeikommen.

Immer wieder spitze sich ab und zu bei The Box zu holen, absoluter Stammladen. Bin persönlich ein großer Fan von der Pulled Pork Box mit der Bratensoße. 10/10 (Natürlich darf man den Schweinkram nicht vergessen ;D)

Ich glaube, Ich habe noch nie in meinem Leben bessere Pommes gegessen. Und dann auch noch als Poutine bzw als loaded fries... einfach traumhaft. Die Pommes waren frisch zubereitet, außen perfekt knusprig, innen noch schön weich, die Bratensauce war lecker, der Käse genauso(Cheddar, Feta, Curds, habe "The Argentinian" probiert) und das pulled pork war ebenfalls super. Dieses Fastfood-Restaurant versteht die Kartoffel wie kein anderes!

Absolut nices To-Go Essen. Super knusprige Pommes mit dem Topping deiner Wahl. Pommes mit Pulledpork Coleslaw und Saucen in einer nachhaltigen Pappbox -> ist einfach der Hammer. Gibt aber auch viele andere Kombinationen. Der Inhaber ist auch super chillig und hat einfach Spaß an seinem Job. Definitiv ein Besuch wert, wenn man in Bamberg ist/isst.

Super leckeres Essen, zu einem fairen Preis. Immer wieder gerne.

Besten pommes die ich je gegessen habe

Ein echter „Instagram-Geheimtipp“ für Bamberg. Auch wenn der Laden eher unauffällig ist und keine Sitzplätze hat, eine echte Empfehlung. Das Essen schmeckt super und wird einem frisch in die Box gelegt Es gibt Pommesvariationen (wie wir sie nicht kannten), aber super lecker und gut gewürzt (auch vegan möglich) Preis-Leistung super und sättigt gut

Als ich den ersten Bissen nahm, hab ich mich gefühlt wie als wäre ich im Himmel angekommen, das sind die besten loaded fries die ich je gegessen habe! Könnte ich zum Frühstück, Mittag und Abend essen!! (wenn das nicht so eine Kalorienbombe wäre😭) Besuch lohnt sich, vor allem auch wenn’s schnell gehen soll!😁

Fries taste like they were fried two or three times. Wouldn't recommend it.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Allerdings ist mir aufgefallen, dass die Portionen wenn der Chef nicht vor Ort ist, deutlich kleiner ausfallen.

Meine Freundin und ich waren dort vor kurzem essen und ich muss es sagen ich war hin und Weg. Der Laden sieht super aus und ist ein Hingucker, das Essen kam in einer super praktischen Transport Box die man perfekt zu einem Teller aufklappen konnte und es war auch noch super lecker. Jeder der in Bamberg ist sollte hier vorbei schauen, ein absoluter Geheimtipp.

The Box ist wie Dope für Fast-Food-Junkies: total ungesund und unvernünftig, aber eben auch verlockend und unwiderstehlich. Street-Food mit Wohlfühlfaktor.

Ein System, dem man in Deutschland sicher nicht so schnell wieder begegnet. Aber unglaublich lecker! Vielfalt in rauen Mengen. Sehr coole Idee! Besonders wie die Box an dich weiter gereicht/geschoben wird.

Sehr leckere Poutines, netter Inhaber. Für den Preis bekommt man sehr sehr große Portionen. Die Poutine hat mir deutlich besser geschmeckt, als bei anderen vergleichbaren Restaurants in Deutschland!

Richtig chilliger Laden mit sehr leckeren food. Als Veganer bin ich von der Vegan Box sehr überzeugt :) Auch das freundliche Personal ist sehr zu loben, macht weiter so!

Die Mitarbeiter sind super nett und die Pommes sind einfach klasse. Für einen guten Preis bekommt man echt gute Speisen. Mir persönlich schmeckt es dort sehr gut und ich würde es weiter empfehlen

Not the healthiest place to eat but man was it good. I had the Random guy which was a little spicy with the slaw but was very good and healthier option on the menu, was with sweet potato fries. I had the argentenian which was very rich filling and tasted amazing, fries pork and gravy. Currywurst was great as well very happy with everything.

Das Essen hat leider seit dem letzten Jahr stark nachgelassen. Fettige Pommes, trockene Currywurst. Schade.

Sehr geiles, einfaches Essen. Eine prima Grundlage um danach die Bierkultur Bambergs auszukosten. Zur Box ein Mönchsambacher Lager. 👌

Wir gehen sehr gerne zu the box. Die Pommes gibt es in verschiedenen Variationen und sind sehr zu empfehlen. Die Portionen sind sehr groß und im Verhältnis wirklich günstig. Der Besitzer ist super symphatisch und das Personal auch. Ein kleiner Geheimtipp in Bamberg mit mal etwas anderem fast food als immer nur chinesisch Pizza und döner. Weiterzuempfehlen.

Leider etwas unscheinbar, wir sind zufällig dran vorbei gelaufen und haben uns gleich eine der leckeren Pommesboxen geholt. Für 5,50 Euro wurden wir zu zweit davon satt als Mittagessen. Das Personal ist außerdem super nett.

Beste Poutine (Pommes mit Topings) in der Stadt. Ben der Besitzer ist super freundlich und es schmeckt hervorragend! Umbedingt ausprobieren!!!
