This place has really good food to offer. Your typical German cuisine. The service was okay. They just did their job, nothing more than that. Sometimes a smile goes a long way ;) The atmosphere was great because we were sitting outside enjoying the nice, quiet summer evening.

The food was on the table in 7 minutes. The bread dumplings with chanterelle cream sauce were cold. The dumplings were cold and hard in the middle. The sauce was more like a thin broth with no flavor, and the mushrooms were gritty. Aside from the chanterelles, there were also a few small, slimy mushrooms. The atmosphere wasn't cozy.

I rarely give reviews, but I'm thrilled with this one. This is my second time here. The taste is amazing, the service is top-notch, and the portions are reasonable. Great place

We were there on a Saturday evening. Reservations are highly recommended, as the restaurant was completely full. The service was very friendly, attentive, and quick. We ordered cheese spaetzle and roast pork. Both were delicious! Although the cheese spaetzle portion looks small, it's sufficient (I'm a big eater). We'd love to come back! Update 3 days later: We were there a second time. The staff were still friendly, but seemed stressed (although it wasn't any busier than last time). We weren't impressed by the food this time. The veal schnitzel was very small and wafer-thin. The breading was thicker than the meat, so it tasted more like breading than meat. My wife's fish was good. Therefore, unfortunately, it didn't impress us this time.

The spaetzle were light, airy, eggy, and less cheesey. But not as heavy on the stomach. Service was quick, but not very friendly.

I had a really good, homemade Obazda (traditional German sausage) with excellent bread. The service was very friendly and attentive.

We stopped in here spontaneously with four people. Very good service, attentive, and very friendly. No long waits. The food was excellent! I had the roast pork, and it was just as it should be: juicy, tender, and the crust was crispy and actually chewy (neither sloppy nor too hard!). My colleagues were also very happy with their choice. The portion sizes were sufficient—all of us grown men were satisfied! At the end, we even got a shot of schnapps on the house! Certainly a good choice for fans of Bavarian cuisine!

Had a great dinner here. They had schäufele on the menu so we gave that a try. It was very good. We usually get krustenbraten or schweinshaxe. This was a new style for us but theyre all pretty similar. I had a Nurnberger sausage plate with sauerkraut which was great also.

Delicious pork knuckle that absolutely fell off the bone. Service was so friendly and made me feel well attended to. 10/10 would recommend. You must have the knuckle of pork!!

Bread dumplings with chanterelle cream sauce were a bit overseasoned. Drinks are encouraged 😉. A small salad was quickly brought along, along with a light beer. Individuals are less welcome; I felt tolerated and rushed at the table for four. Groups, families, and couples are more welcome. I wish the service was more sensitive to their guests. I wouldn't recommend it!

It's a shame you can't give 10 stars. I come here with my colleague on the men's weekend, and I'm in heaven. The food. I can't think of much that's better than the Swabian plate. The service is friendly and courteous, just as it should be. The atmosphere is like a traditional German restaurant. I will be back, 100%. Thanks to the team and the kitchen.

Very tasty pancake soup. Pork fillet with mushroom sauce (unfortunately no fresh mushrooms, but still tasty). Sauerkraut with Nuremberg sausage (very tasty).

This restaurant charges a mandatory tip, the steak is bad, and the pork knuckle and fish are even worse.

The three of us had a very good meal here. Two vegetarian options and one pork knuckle with dumplings and coleslaw. The vegetarians were happy, and I certainly was with my pork knuckle 😁. The atmosphere is nice and clean, but it's a matter of taste. I highly recommend this place!

The tomato cream soup was so good I nearly ordered two more bowls. Then came the roast duck, already one of my favorite dishes in Garmisch, and it did not disappoint. I finished with an Apfelstrudel loaded with ice cream, whipped cream, fruits and sauce. Pure indulgence. My waiter Tiberio was kind and efficient. A perfect end to a long hike.

We sat right on the street, which isn't recommended. Cars sometimes drive as close as a meter, sometimes quickly, and sometimes even drive past. Some drivers like to show off their car's sound. There's also a narrow terrace on the side of the house, which is very narrow and not very inviting for us. But! The food was good, and the service was very friendly.

Hands down the best meal I had in Germany, and there were a lot of them. Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. Everything about this visit was enjoyable. I will definitely visit again when I am in Garmisch. 👏👏👏 P.S. My pictures are below average and don't do these meals justice. My apologies.

I was excited to try this place on my vacation I was excited for my fish until the first bite. It was some random packaged crap anyone could receive in the UK or America . The rest of my table had a similar experience with the food being mediocre at best . It all tasted like something from a bag and it was certainly not worth those tourist prices. I’d advise you not to come to this tourist factory place and find better food somewhere else in Garmish-Partenkirchen as their are more places with authentic food.

We spontaneously decided on the restaurant. When we arrived, the place was full. But we were able to sit at a table, and the waiters were great. I THINK that's great anyway; you get to meet people. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The service was super fast and prompt. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes. The atmosphere was great, and the location was great, too.

The restaurant was full, but we had the option to sit at someone else's table - they sat us down. Fast service & food came quickly. Dogs allowed and drinks offered. Apricot dumplings were delicious! Tip: Serve the sauce separately. Be sure to try the cheese spaetzle!

Unfortunately, it's changed a lot. Back when the 'Yugoslav' (I think it was) was still serving and the menu was different, I liked it MUCH better. I don't know if it was sold?! The waitress was a young blonde lady. She was very nice at first. But she didn't seem to like the idea of ​​packing up the leftover food to go (because I had a gastric bypass and didn't manage to eat much). And when we left even a small tip, we were immediately ignored and didn't even hear a 'thank you, goodbye'. That just goes to show that only money matters. And if you don't have any money, you'll be treated accordingly. What a shame. I definitely won't be coming back. Unfortunately, the atmosphere wasn't quite as nice either; it was very crowded, very dark, very warm. And there were always people standing at the door for minutes, waiting for a table. This made it very noisy there. The food (I had the salad with turkey strips) was delicious.

It was OK. The schnitzel was good. A 0.5-liter wine spritzer for €7.50 in a beer glass is an absolute no-go!!! Sorry.

Sensational!! Great atmosphere and the food was incredibly delicious. Truly, there's no other way to describe it. We had the knuckle of pork and the roast pork. Crispy, oven-cooked, and the meat was super tender. And watch out!! The red cabbage (blue cabbage) was better than Mom's. A little bit firm and excellent in flavor. And honestly? The price for two main courses, two spritzers, and two glasses of wine was surprisingly reasonable. A knuckle of pork with dumplings, an excellent homemade sauce, and a bacon and coleslaw...and all for just under 20 euros? Where else can you find something like that? No hint of tourist prices! And finally, let's talk about the staff. We were well looked after by Emmi (sorry if that's a misspelling). Her friendly manner made the visit a highlight. THIS is exactly what you imagine a stop at a traditional Bavarian inn to be like. THIS and nothing else! And then we went back to the hotel and into the recovery position. Let's just say it was pretty intense :-).

Ate out alone, got a table. Was shouted at by the staff a couple of tables away if I wanted something to drink, felt crazy to shout my order back. Big plus that there is a vegan option. Small minus that it didn't taste great. Mushroom stuffed tortellini with tomato sauce; the sauce tasted of carrots and was quite flat. The filling didn't taste like mushrooms at all

Our experience was ok. We had ordered a table and were then pushed aside and ignored for 10 minutes until we were eventually allowed to sit down. We shared a table with another couple (completely fine, that was agreed upon when making the reservation). However, someone else was seated at the table that we didn't know anything about beforehand, which was a bit strange to be honest. The food was also rather ok. In the photo you can see that the liver dumpling at the top was already pretty dried out. In general, the food was pretty messily prepared. That could be a little nicer. Service at the table was nice and pretty quick. The main course was delicious. The dessert left something to be desired. The apple strudel was so dry that it unfortunately seemed a few days old. We probably wouldn't come back.

In itself a nice restaurant with good food - unfortunately the service really spoiled our experience. We arrived at 8:15 p.m. and were first informed that we had to check whether the kitchen was still open. Luckily we were still able to order. The food was good, but the hospitality left much to be desired. Shortly after 9 p.m., all tables - including salt, pepper and decorations - were cleared without comment. The bill was literally forced on us, even though we wanted to sit in peace and still had full glasses. Afterwards we stayed outside to finish our drinks when suddenly around 9:30 p.m. all the lights inside went out and the restaurant was closed - while we were still sitting outside. Nobody came to us and talked to us about it being closed or something similar - it could have been solved in a much more charming way. Especially since the website and the sign in front of the restaurant say that it is open until 10:30 p.m. Overall, unfortunately, not a welcoming approach to guests in the evening.

Unfortunately, as a guest you don't really feel welcome here. It's best to eat very quickly. When you arrive at 8 p.m. you first have to ask whether the kitchen is still doing anything. The food came very quickly and was neither good nor bad. People ask several times if everything is okay, but it is conveyed that they should simply pay quickly because no one wants to do more. At 9:30 p.m. the lights were gradually turned off and we were left to sit alone after paying. The stated opening time of 10:30 p.m. is probably only based on a full restaurant. You get the feeling of being a foreign body after the bill has been paid. Interesting experience, but it could be more comfortable and warm. You have to know.

We wanted to try traditional food and local wines in a traditional restaurant. We made a good choice. The service was friendly. Even though we didn't have a reservation, they sorted it out. The recommended dishes were really delicious. Along with the roast pork, they also brought pork skin roasted to a crispy, blistered, red color. It was a real treat. Like the steamed dumplings offered with it, topped with toasted breadcrumbs and steamed red cabbage. The recommended wine was also divine. I chose duck, which also turned out to be a generous portion. I recommend it with love because of the food, the wines, the service and the interior too 😊

Very bad experience. Maybe they dislike tourists or people from other countries? In the middle of our dinner, the other guests left at 21:30 (one hour before closing) and they started turning off the music and the lights as if we were not still there. My mom still had her glass of wine and half of her plate. Super disrespectful. We felt very unconfortable and had to rush to leave without them even explaining anything. It ruined our evening and our first night in the town. The food was ok, but nothing brilliant and overpriced.

5 stars – Fast, warm & really hearty! What an experience! I had the pork knuckle – perfectly fried, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, just the way you want it. Plus classic side dishes and a perfectly tapped beer. The service was impressively quick and warm - the waitress in dirndls was super attentive and in a good mood. Even though there wasn't much going on, everything ran smoothly and relaxed. This is how you imagine Bavarian hospitality! In short: Guad's food, perfect portion and a real blast!

April 15, 2023 - Around 6 PM. I as an Indian, along with my sister, brother in law, and their daughter, was refused service at this place. The waitress told us they do not have place for us while the restaurant was half empty. I would request fellow Indians to avoid this restaurant and not force the staff to lie and make excuses to deny us service.
