Delicious Bavarian food at reasonable prices. The service is prompt and friendly.

Wow. Across the board great memories of home made German dishes. Beef and pork dishes, along with Apple Strudel were so good.

Our experience was ok. We had ordered a table and were then pushed aside and ignored for 10 minutes until we were eventually allowed to sit down. We shared a table with another couple (completely fine, that was agreed upon when making the reservation). However, someone else was seated at the table that we didn't know anything about beforehand, which was a bit strange to be honest. The food was also rather ok. In the photo you can see that the liver dumpling at the top was already pretty dried out. In general, the food was pretty messily prepared. That could be a little nicer. Service at the table was nice and pretty quick. The main course was delicious. The dessert left something to be desired. The apple strudel was so dry that it unfortunately seemed a few days old. We probably wouldn't come back.

Me and my wife were there today with our little daughter. The food was delicious and everyone took care of our child. The service was great and the food was great. I can't say more. There are people in and in front of the kitchen who know their stuff

We sat outside, on the street. The ambience wasn't perfect but still cozy. The food was fantastically delicious and an absolute recommendation. In the photo you can see the roast with dumplings and red cabbage and the Hofbräulerpfanderl. The staff is very friendly. We were completely satisfied and will definitely come back when we are in Garmisch again! Good bye! 🌞😊

In itself a nice restaurant with good food - unfortunately the service really spoiled our experience. We arrived at 8:15 p.m. and were first informed that we had to check whether the kitchen was still open. Luckily we were still able to order. The food was good, but the hospitality left much to be desired. Shortly after 9 p.m., all tables - including salt, pepper and decorations - were cleared without comment. The bill was literally forced on us, even though we wanted to sit in peace and still had full glasses. Afterwards we stayed outside to finish our drinks when suddenly around 9:30 p.m. all the lights inside went out and the restaurant was closed - while we were still sitting outside. Nobody came to us and talked to us about it being closed or something similar - it could have been solved in a much more charming way. Especially since the website and the sign in front of the restaurant say that it is open until 10:30 p.m. Overall, unfortunately, not a welcoming approach to guests in the evening.

Unfortunately, as a guest you don't really feel welcome here. It's best to eat very quickly. When you arrive at 8 p.m. you first have to ask whether the kitchen is still doing anything. The food came very quickly and was neither good nor bad. People ask several times if everything is okay, but it is conveyed that they should simply pay quickly because no one wants to do more. At 9:30 p.m. the lights were gradually turned off and we were left to sit alone after paying. The stated opening time of 10:30 p.m. is probably only based on a full restaurant. You get the feeling of being a foreign body after the bill has been paid. Interesting experience, but it could be more comfortable and warm. You have to know.

We wanted to try traditional food and local wines in a traditional restaurant. We made a good choice. The service was friendly. Even though we didn't have a reservation, they sorted it out. The recommended dishes were really delicious. Along with the roast pork, they also brought pork skin roasted to a crispy, blistered, red color. It was a real treat. Like the steamed dumplings offered with it, topped with toasted breadcrumbs and steamed red cabbage. The recommended wine was also divine. I chose duck, which also turned out to be a generous portion. I recommend it with love because of the food, the wines, the service and the interior too 😊

Schäuferl was very good. Homemade dumplings, you could taste them. Coleslaw also very good. Nice service and extremely pretty too :) Clear recommendation!

Very bad experience. Maybe they dislike tourists or people from other countries? In the middle of our dinner, the other guests left at 21:30 (one hour before closing) and they started turning off the music and the lights as if we were not still there. My mom still had her glass of wine and half of her plate. Super disrespectful. We felt very unconfortable and had to rush to leave without them even explaining anything. It ruined our evening and our first night in the town. The food was ok, but nothing brilliant and overpriced.

This restaurant is definitely recommended. Price performance is good. The portions are not that huge. However, you should reserve in advance. I wouldn't go if I was lucky.

5 stars – Fast, warm & really hearty! What an experience! I had the pork knuckle – perfectly fried, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, just the way you want it. Plus classic side dishes and a perfectly tapped beer. The service was impressively quick and warm - the waitress in dirndls was super attentive and in a good mood. Even though there wasn't much going on, everything ran smoothly and relaxed. This is how you imagine Bavarian hospitality! In short: Guad's food, perfect portion and a real blast!

April 15, 2023 - Around 6 PM. I as an Indian, along with my sister, brother in law, and their daughter, was refused service at this place. The waitress told us they do not have place for us while the restaurant was half empty. I would request fellow Indians to avoid this restaurant and not force the staff to lie and make excuses to deny us service.

Our first restaurant in Garmisch immediately after arrival and an immediate hit. We were there around 4 p.m. and got the table straight away even though the restaurant was busy. We were warmly welcomed and were able to order straight away. We have two dishes - one pork medallions with nice sauce and one mix plate? There was duck knuckle and roast pork with dumplings. Food was served quickly and very tasty. The atmosphere is very nice, you enjoy spending time there. Kind regards

That was delicious. We had Obatzter and sausage salad, roast pork, duck and knuckle. Everything is great - if you want to complain because the Obatzter isn't spicy enough or the sauce is too thin, you should cry quietly. We can recommend the store.

The first time I tried it, it was delicious. The time we ordered the duck and the beef scallops, they were delicious and they understood our requests as Muslims. It is a very classy restaurant and very nice staff. I loved the place very much.

We had reservations at this restaurant. When we arrived no one knew about this reservation and we were turned away. Luckily we found accommodation in another restaurant. Later we got a call asking why we didn't show up at the reserved time, whereupon we said that we had been sent away again. So I can only give this one star! Too bad!

We went to Hofbräustüberl for lunch with the family. The food was very good, the service was OK at that time. Overall, we can confirm the recommendation for the restaurant. Very good food at what is now unfortunately the usual high price level.

We had a very nice Christams Eve dinner in this restaurant. We ordered the beef with fried onions and potatos, was absolutely delicious, my son ordered the cordon blue, also delicious. The food was wonderful, service was kind and attentive, ambience cozy. Nice place to eat in Garmisch. Recomend!

Great, quaint restaurant with excellent cuisine and friendly staff! Dogs are allowed! We had dinner in the evening without a reservation and got a table. Our two dogs were warmly welcomed and welcomed! There was something to drink and treats! The people food was also very tasty and authentic! 😅

It's definitely worth a visit for the well-prepared duck we ate. The other dishes also looked delicious. Unfortunately, points are deducted for the atmosphere towards the end of the evening; we overheard the staff arguing in the kitchen area

The food was brought so differently that the others at the table were already finished and one of them waited a long time (standard dish). The food was also rather mediocre for the price. The service staff was incredibly unfriendly, sometimes said rude things and when serving you noticed a certain mood. All in all, not a shop for an evening that you want to end in a relaxed manner.

Following a local recommendation, we went to the Hofbräustüberl three times during our week-long vacation and we weren't actually disappointed. The food was excellent, the extremely friendly service was attentive and always had an open ear to fulfill any wishes. We were disappointed with the large salad, because unfortunately it was not what we are used to in Bavaria, but rather gave the impression that it came partly from a bag. The lettuce pieces were only spiced up with a rosette of lamb's lettuce, a few pieces of cucumber and tomato, and corn. We would be happy to come back at any time and look forward to the hospitable atmosphere. Update: That's what happened, a year later... This time - twice, because everyone deserves a second chance - we were disappointed. The food wasn't as good as last year. For example, the onion roast was prepared completely carelessly, the meat was far too thin, the fried onions were far too poor. It seems absolutely inhospitable that there is a line of people already standing in front of the restaurant waiting to be let in. Furthermore, before we placed an order, another reserved sign with the precise time was placed on the table without comment, so that you are clearly informed about the latest time at which you have to leave your (reserved table, mind you). This procedure is only found in completely overcrowded restaurants in the Mediterranean. With this system of block handling, sitting quietly together with a glass of wine or beer after dinner is out of the question. Fortunately, there are other competitors where this procedure is not used and who do not focus on profit but on hospitality. Guests like to come back there.

Nice restaurant, the staff is also nice, but we had the feeling that the chef in the kitchen was really overwhelmed. There were five of us, two of the meals came relatively quickly, so they were almost eaten by the time the next portions arrived. The chicken nuggets for our youngest that came next were unfortunately so burnt that we had to send them back, but my cordon bleu was still raw inside. I also found it unpleasant that we were reminded several times that we had to leave the restaurant at 8 p.m. It's okay that the tables are assigned twice in the evening, we wouldn't have wanted to stay longer with a small child anyway, we don't need multiple reminders.

The female server (the one with the tattoos) was more than unfriendly. The food was OK but nothing special.

First of all, friendly service. Food came quickly. We had to say no when we asked if we would like it because the beef broth with pancake strips tasted VERY intense. It was assured that an internal review would take place. The waitress did NOT come to give us feedback. We were ignored until the time of paying the bill. After we had paid (without a tip) we got another comment: "You can always find some reason" (since we paid with a card and when we entered the total we were asked again whether the bill total should also be the card payment amount) and we immediately turned away. It's a shame that criticism isn't treated respectfully here. We have never asked for an alternative, but we are in favor of honest feedback so that we can make adjustments if necessary. All in all, it's a shame for this lovely restaurant.

Very tasty pork roast for an acceptable price. The portion seemed “small”, but it was absolutely sufficient. Additionally, red cabbage was served, which was deliciously seasoned. (possibly cinnamon or clove) 😊

If you're looking for perfect Bavarian cuisine, you can't avoid this restaurant! Added to this is the very friendly, perfect service. And all of this in a rustic, cozy atmosphere. Early reservation should be considered.

Very tasty food with very quick but friendly service. The restaurant is very busy, so tables can be given away several times. We were informed of this fact when we made the reservation, which was essential...just before 8 p.m. we were very kindly informed of it again.

Without making a reservation, we were lucky and were able to sit with a couple. The staff was quick and very nice, the food was a dream, it was fresh and honest craftsmanship. We had smoked Waiblingen and 1/4 duck... simply a delight and a perfect mix of craftsmanship and regionality. Greetings from Thuringia, we would love to come back

We got a table for two people on the same day (to "sit down"), even though it was full all the time, which made us happy. The waitresses were friendly, drinks and food arrived quickly. A small disappointment in the service was that we only received the mayonnaise after the third request (and the fries had now cooled down). A total of 4 waitresses served us, all of whom always took the (re-)orders "as we passed by", perhaps there was just a little more peace and/or a clearer division missing here. The Wiener Schnitzel was tasty but nothing exceptional, a high breading to meat ratio. The cranberry side dish was probably a ready-made product, but I personally didn't think that was bad. We liked the atmosphere. Even though it was packed and we were sitting at a table with strangers, it was a very pleasant meal!

We followed the good reviews for the Hofbräustüberl during our trip to GaPa and were not disappointed in any way. The service is top (reserving a table in advance is recommended), the food is very good, portioned well enough (large), fresh and (in my opinion) typical for the region. The prices correspond to the usual local level. We liked it so much that we visited again the next day.

The food tasted good, but getting just one dumpling for €14.90 is a bit poor. Otherwise quaint restaurant.

You will be glad that you did!! ***** We were a party of four and stopped in for dinner and it was really great. The food was good and the service was great. We got the pork, the veal, and the beef and all of them were so good. Our waitress was great at speaking English and she was so kind and helpful. We also got various desserts and they were all amazing. The entire experience was so good. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back when in the area. This place is definitely worth your time.

Food and condition outstanding. I had a roast pork with potato dumpling and red cabbage. I haven't eaten so well in a while. The next day we went back and ate chanterelles with dumplings. Just super delicious. Definitely go if you are in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Unfortunately just a quick copy. The food was only lukewarm when it was brought out after a very short time. On the plate instead of fresh vegetables only warmed frozen vegetables, meat well fried and tough. Not worth 4.5 stars!

I had the pork tenderloin with potato dumplings and red cabbage. There were 2 quite dry slices of meat with a bit of a crispy crust on top. This is not a crusty roast! The herb was flooded with spices, although it's easy to bite on a juniper berry and the pleasure is over. Professionally, a spice bag or something similar is used. The herb was not tied, so the stock constantly drips. There was only a tablespoon of meat stock with the meat, which was not bound and there was nothing to dip the dumplings into. One son had a Cordon Bleu. That was just lukewarm. There was far too little ketchup for the abundance of fries. The other had potato pancakes. Finished products from the fry. Apple spritzer was ordered and Johannes spritzer was brought, which was later added to the bill. The non-alcoholic spritzer cost €0.50 more than the same amount of beer. Unbelievable. The highlight of the meal was my wife's curd cheese strudel, which was taken off our bill after we had eaten and lodged a complaint. There was also an espresso on the house. Staff friendly, but they ask shortly after serving whether the food is OK. Poor performance for the prices.

The service was bland and boring, the food was absolutely average. Rather below average for the price. (Cordon Bleu was between why and cold, the dish was literally showered with lukewarm fries to justify the price. Roast pork was also poor with rocket leaves in the meat and hard grains in the accompanying sauce.) The waitress wears nice and stylish clothes , but once brought us the wrong dish and also needed 2 attempts for food and drinks. We wouldn't order the food like that again. After criticism, the waitress invited us for a small espresso👍.

We stopped here looking for dessert and a drink after being impressed by the mountain view. The apricot dumplings didn't disappoint either. We would come back - even for the main meal!

The food was too salty, the waitresses were very unfriendly and insulted me at the end when I told them the food was too salty, that's not possible!!!! Overall NOT recommended!!

Today we ordered cheese spaetzle to take away. What can I say, at a price of €14.90 I expect a corresponding portion. This expectation was disappointed. A very small portion that is not appropriate for the price.
