Bavarian atmosphere in the middle of Dresden, food is plentiful and above all good and service is friendly and accommodating, it's best to order a table in advance

The two of us with a dog went to the Hofbräu to the Frauenkirche and had a very good stay. The service was very friendly and attentive and offered us a particularly quiet place a bit out of the way with our dogs. The pork knuckle was very good, the sauerkraut was rather average. Overall, it was quite loud and warm inside. Relatively touristy and of course less authentic for the region, but still recommended and a reasonable price-performance ratio.

Bavarian specialties presented in a friendly manner in Dresden at Neumarkt - definitely recommended!

If you like traditional Bavarian cuisine, this is the right place for you! The menu is manageable, but the dishes taste extremely good! The staff is very friendly and we spontaneously got a table on Saturday evening. We found the prices reasonable for the schnitzel and the knuckle.

I was curious about the Hofbräuhaus, but ended up sobered and disappointed. The dining rooms were cramped. We sat at a round table, which was surrounded by too many rectangular tables, so you could barely turn around. The noise and cooking smells from the semi-open kitchen next door were so intense that all of our clothes had to go into the washing machine that evening. We waited over an hour for the (unfortunately mediocre) meal, even though there were hardly any guests, and to get to the restroom, we had to squeeze behind occupied chairs, which was probably an imposition for the guests as well. Conclusion: Expected a lot, got little.

Absolutely great! I've been here several times now and again today for the Weisswurst breakfast. Service 1A, kitchen TOP, everything was great! Found a new local bar ;-)

If I don't want fries but want a large salad, then I expect a little more customer service. A “that won’t work” isn’t enough for me at this point.

Cold and drafty like at the train station and the atmosphere is the same. The food is extremely bad, the crusty roast was very flabby and dry. The dumplings from the bag. Just ripping off tourists.

I had dinner here with my family. We received a very friendly welcome and the service was very friendly and accommodating throughout the meal. My partner, who was born in Upper Bavaria, also gave her consent and felt a little bit of a feeling of “home”.

Very cozy restaurant with very good food. And a fantastic beer. As usual, there are still half or pints of beer. Absolutely recommended.

Despite the New Year's stress and the large crowds, we were allowed to sit down, the food came quickly, was very good and the service was nice. All of this came together almost unexpectedly and really made a very good impression. Definitely a recommendation!

Drop by for a quick drink and snack - if you consider Schnitzel a snack lol. Service was okay, nothing to shout out for. The food was fine, luckily we ordered just one. The fries were really good though. I had an entire bottle of red to myself so that was a win. More of a tourist place so do expect the typical service.

Eine Leberknödel Suppe aus Fertigbrühe mit Minimenge an Gemüse und zwei super kleinen Leberknödel 🤔 für 9.90 das ist eine Frechheit!!! Wenn man dann auch noch so sitzt, das man einen ständigen Blick in die Küche hat, will man dort nicht mehr essen. Das Küchen Personal arbeitet extrem unsauber. Es wird einfach alles mit den Fingern angefasst die dann sauber geleckt werden. Kellner die von den fertigen Speisen erstmal etwas probieren um es dann an den Tisch zu den Gästen bringen... so könnte ich eine lange Liste hier aufführen... Mir ist der Appetit dann auch noch durch das Service Personal vergangen. Antwort auf die reklamierte Leberknödel Suppe "ja ich weiß, früher hatten wir da grosse Knödel drin" Na ja da kostete die Suppe 7.90

A liver dumpling soup made from ready-made broth with a small amount of vegetables and two super small liver dumplings 🤔 for 9.90 that's a disgrace!!! If you sit in such a way that you constantly have a view of the kitchen, you don't want to eat there anymore. The kitchen staff work extremely uncleanly. Everything is simply touched with your fingers and then licked clean. Waiters who first try something from the finished food and then bring it to the table to the guests... I could list a long list here... The service staff also lost my appetite. Answer to the complained liver dumpling soup "yes, I know we used to have big dumplings in it" Well, the soup cost 7.90

Super leckeres Essen und toller Service in der Lokalen

We came in without reservation on a Saturday. The restaurant was almost full, but we got a table in less than 5 min. The interior is very cozy and Bavarian. Service was friendly and quick, beer and food were very tasty. Both Goulash and Spatzle were big portions and we couldn’t eat dessert afterwards because we’re too full. We paid 50€, by card, for 2x 0.5L beers and these two dishes, including tips. Sehr gut! 👌

Éramos seis más nuestro cachorro dálmata y a todos nos encantó. Nos encantó tanto que mi esposa y yo volvimos al día siguiente. La sopa de patatas es excelente, así como el plato de salchichas de Núremberg y el Weiss wurst. A diferencia de la casa Hoffbrau original, esta es muy cálida y acogedora con un interior de madera oscura. Parece un lugar local donde todos conocen a todos. Sin duda volveremos en nuestro próximo viaje, precios muy razonables también, y el personal hizo su trabajo bien

I went twice during my 3 days and 2 nights stay in Dresden. The beer is very delicious and there is an English menu. The staff is also friendly~

Typical”beer haus” with nice atmosphere and polite staff. Meals were good and we got them quiet quickly.

The location of the restaurant in the old town is perfect, you should make a reservation on the weekend. We went on a Saturday around 3:30 p.m. and had the last two spots available. Nevertheless the staff was very friendly. Not a large menu, but there is something for everyone who likes hearty Bavarian cuisine. We had beef goulash and cordon bleu with Hofbräu beer on tap. Everything was very tasty and sufficiently portioned, the prices were also decent. Everything fine.

yesterday we visited this pub. My son (5 years old) got very sick after eating Spetzle with cheese! Caution !

Das Essen war lecker, leider sehr wenig Platz und wenn man auf seinen reservierten Tisch wartet fühlt man sich als wenn man ständig allen im Weg steht und wird angewiesen doch bitte Platz zu machen. Bedienung war Nett und freundlich.

Unfortunately the menu is very clear. At times you have to queue in the men's toilet because there is only one urinal. Therefore only 3 stars.

Service 9.5/10 (Self restaurateur) Food 1/10 (Self Bavarian) I had to salt each ingredient. Price performance is also more of a tourist trap. (When you roast pork you get a small slice, the sauce is 100% from a pack and doesn't really taste good, it has absolutely nothing to do with a dark beer sauce as it unfortunately says on the menu. That's maybe it once was, but unfortunately the chefs there have it no idea!!!!)

Ate a very good schnitzel. Quickly served. Pleasant and efficient service. Very popular place. Remember to book a table if you are going to eat in the evening. The menu is in German, so old knowledge needs to be refreshed here.

Centrally located in the old town, yet very fair prices. Friendly and unobtrusive service, rustic atmosphere. The food is hearty, the Hofbräu Original is tasty. Everything was perfect for me here!

Originelles Lokal wie zu unserer Münchner Zeit erfahren! Das Weißwurst-Frühstück war ordentlich und das Weißbier hat auch geschmeckt! Wir sind nun auf den Schweinsbraten und die anderen bayrischen Schmankerl bei unserem nächsten Besuch gespannt!

Beer is very good and is not difficult in Dresden. Food - small portions but very tasty. Unfortunately, Hackse was cold on the inside and was swapped for another Hackse, this time a hot one. Total duration approx. 1 hour. Shouldn't happen... Prices are okay. Service was nice and always tried hard. Inn quite narrow and little space at the table... but it can also be cozy. Nevertheless, recommendation... you can do it.

Wartezeit aufs Essen 50 Min. Bei der Bedienung war noch deutlich Luft nach oben. Das Schnitzel Wiener Art und das Sächsische Gulasch war sehr lecker. Wir hatten einen Tisch direkt gegenüber vom Tresen. Das war sehr unruhig und laut.

Wie immer Spitze, einfach wirklich Super nette Bedienung, Super Essen, Extrem guter Service, Dankeschön und weiter so?

You wait 1.5 hours for the food even though the table had been reserved for a week. The food has little to do with Bavarian. You neither eat sauerkraut with carrots, kohlrabi and horseradish nor pork knuckles with rice. If you take it funny it can be very entertaining. The waitresses can't do anything about the disaster but the management doesn't value the guest.

It seems quite cramped in the small restaurant. But: The beer is good as usual, the food was very tasty and typically... Bavarian? Alpine? In that direction. However, the service compels me to review it: incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive even in the biggest crowds (Friday evening). So even if the place is packed, you always have something to drink and get your hot food in a reasonable amount of time.

The staff were friendly, but the shank they served us was quite raw. They asked us to allow other people to sit at our table and after a while one of them didn't like our chatter (maybe) and started yelling at us in a rude way, forcing us to get up. I don't recommend it

Wir hatten das Vergnügen, das Hofbräuhaus zur Frauenkirche zu besuchen, und wir können nur sagen, dass es ein herausragendes Erlebnis war. Das Essen war exzellent – die bayerischen Spezialitäten waren frisch zubereitet und perfekt gewürzt. Besonders das Braumeisterschnitzel und das Hofbräuhröstl im Pfandl sind ein absolutes Muss! Das Ambiente des Hauses ist geschmackvoll und einladend. Die traditionelle bayerische Einrichtung sorgt für ein authentisches Flair, das perfekt zur historischen Umgebung von Dresden passt. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich, was das Gesamtbild abrundete. Insgesamt können wir das Hofbräuhaus zur Frauenkirche nur wärmstens empfehlen. Hier trifft hervorragende Küche auf ein schönes Ambiente – ein idealer Ort für einen gelungenen Abend! Vielen Dank!

Ein uriges Lokal mit bodenständiger deutscher Küche. Die Mitarbeiter/-innen waren sehr nett und aufmerksam, der Service war sehr gut. Einziger Minuspunkt war, dass die "Luft' schlecht war, da das Lokal sehr voll war.

Great location, with a view of the Frauenkirche. Food was nothing, schnitzels were large but only 2mm thick and totally dry, cordon bleu was similar. Price performance is not right at all for the money I would have expected a decent schnitzel.

We came to Hofbräu from another restaurant here with 19 people. We were looking for an alternative as we were treated impossible in the previous restaurant. We were immediately warmly welcomed by the staff here. Even at 10 p.m. we still got some delicious food and drinks. Everyone went home full and happy. Thank you very much for this wonderful hospitality. Absolute recommendation!
