HOFBRÄU MÜNCHEN in München

Der Ort ist riesig. Er ist fantastisch, weil man im Park entspannen, schwimmen und spazieren gehen kann und anschließend zum Essen und Biertrinken zurückkehren kann.

Nach einem Tag im Englischen Garten machten wir hier Halt, aber trotz der sehr angenehmen Atmosphäre empfand ich es als Touristenfalle. Ich zahlte 56 € für sechs verschiedene Würste, Sauerkraut, eine kleine Portion Schweinefleisch und zwei Pints ​​Bier. Ganz zu schweigen von dem unhöflichen Servicepersonal, das einem das Essen auf den Teller schaufelte, ohne einen auch nur anzusehen.

In der Nähe des Chinesischen Turms gibt es einen Markt mit Essen und Bier. Echt cool! Man kann sich ein Tablett mit Bier und anderen Sachen nehmen und an der Kasse bezahlen. Dort bekommt man einen Bon, den man gegen Bargeld eintauscht. Am Ende bringt man die Gläser und das Bier zum Wechselschalter neben den Toiletten. Dort gibt man das Glas ab und bekommt den Bon zurück. Zwei Gläser kosten 2 €.

Hatten Rippchen und einen Salat, dazu ein Maß. 37,-€ pP. Die Rippchen bestanden fast nur aus Knochen und Fett, nicht genießbar.

Ein wunderschöner Ort, leider trübt das unhöfliche Personal das Gesamtbild.

Waren hier mittags auf ein Bier und eine Pommes da. Bestellung ging schnell und Bier wurde frisch gezapft. Pommes waren auch lecker. Preise sind in Ordnung. Etwas voll und laut, was uns aber nicht weiter gestört hat. Kommen gern wieder👍

Die Kassiererin war die unfreundlichste Person, die mir je begegnet ist. Ich wollte mir ein Eis kaufen und fragte, ob ich an ihrer Kasse bezahlen könne. Daraufhin hielt sie mir einen Vortrag darüber, dass dies dasselbe sei wie in einem Supermarkt, und erklärte dann dem Fremden neben mir in der Schlange, wie dumm ich doch sei. Ich erklärte ihr, dass ich nur Touristin sei, aber das interessierte sie nicht.

Extrem unfreundliche Mitarbeiter. Falsches Essen bekommen und wurde angemeckert warum ich das falsche bekommen habe. Außerdem war das Essen kalt. Nicht zu empfehlen.

Leckers Essen, sogar vegane Optionen (der Brezel ist auch Vegan btw). Ambiente bei schönem Wetter natürlich voll aber man findet immer irgendwo noch einen Platz. Bier eher teuer aber das ist normal bei so Touristischen Spots. Für nicht Biertrinker gibt es auch noch andere Optionen wie Aperol oder Sarti Spritz

Wir waren zum Mittagessen im Biergarten. Es ist sehr groß, man kann im Schatten unter großen Bäumen sitzen oder in der Sonne. Es gibt relativ viel Essensauswahl - auch Salate u. Obst. Es ist Selbstbedienung. Es wird sehr auf Sauberkeit geachtet. Auch die Toiletten sind sehr sauber.

Ein Angestellter hat uns 4 € gestohlen. Er hat uns die Pfandmünzen nicht zurückgegeben. Als ich es bemerkte und zurückging, um sie zu holen, tat er so, als sähe und höre er mich nicht. Das ist sehr unhöflich. Ich hoffe, er wird wegen Diebstahls entlassen und hat es aufgrund seiner Unhöflichkeit im Leben schwer. Ansonsten waren Essen und Bier gut.

Wir waren dort und wurden von einem Mann an der Theke bedient, der uns die Getränke berechnete. Er gab uns jedoch keinen Bon (wir gingen davon aus, dass man nur das Glas benötigt). Als wir bemerkten, dass er uns den Bon nicht gegeben hatte, gingen wir zurück, um ihn darauf hinzuweisen. Er weigerte sich, uns den Bon zu geben und brach das Gespräch ohne Erklärung ab. Das kommt uns wie Betrug und eine sehr unlautere Geschäftspraxis vor. Außerdem ist das Essen sehr teuer.

Das Essen war furchtbar. Die Obazda schmeckte überhaupt nicht nach Käse. Die Schweinshaxe war trocken, kalt und wurde ohne Soße serviert. Die Brezeln waren nicht warm. Der Rest des Essens war bestenfalls mittelmäßig. Der schlechteste Biergarten, in dem ich je in München war.

Etwas überteuert und überfüllt, aber das Erlebnis war einzigartig und lohnenswert.

Hervorragendes Essen. Schmeckt wie frisch zubereitet. Der Service war überaus freundlich, und das Ambiente entsprach genau dem, was man sich bei einem Besuch in Bayern wünscht. Ich hatte ein nettes Gespräch mit der Dame an der Rezeption. Die Atmosphäre ist großartig, auch wenn gerade kein Oktoberfest stattfindet. Scheint ein Lokal zu sein, das auch Einheimische gerne besuchen. Ein rundum gelungenes Erlebnis (10/10). Faire Preise.

Es ist ein herrlicher Ort zum Entspannen, wenn das Wetter warm genug ist, um draußen zu sitzen. Man geht durch das Drehkreuz und kann sich bedienen. Es gibt Kaffee, Cola und verschiedene Biersorten. Auch verschiedene Wurstsorten, darunter Schweins- und Rindswürste, werden angeboten. Außerdem gibt es Kartoffeln, Frikadellen, andere bayerische Spezialitäten, Brezeln, Desserts und vieles mehr. Die Atmosphäre ist wunderbar. Wir haben hier einen Nachmittag verbracht und gegessen. Die Preise waren angemessen. Das russische Bier war fantastisch.

Das Haus am Platz...l...eine Touristenhochburg...mit bayrischer Küche, bayrischer Musik, bayrischem Bier.. Herz was brauchst du mehr. Liebe Grüße an die Geschäftsleitung

At Yemek Sokak, you can buy whatever you want and sit outside with it. There is the option to buy beer, coffee, and cold drinks. You come to the service, pick up the seafood you want, pay at the cash register, and go out. They take a deposit for a glass. I gave the glass back and they refunded the depression. The chicken was good, we liked the chicken, the meat wasn't that good. The atmosphere was good.

Bring your own food and sit further away. The food is hardly worth it, and then you have to wait in line for a long time to get it. I'd rather eat a more tasty obazda elsewhere; this one was very bland. The Brezn were okay.

It's not okay that the chef calls people "Ching Chang Chong" based on their appearance.

We were there as a family with two small children (under 10). It had been raining for quite some time. Unfortunately, the cash register area wasn't properly covered. This caused our overpriced food and drinks to be watered down. The staff, however, were very friendly. It's a shame, as we were actually looking forward to the "beer garden experience." I wouldn't recommend it.

The seating in this beer garden by the Chinese Tower is very nice. However, it's all self-service. There's no non-alcoholic lager available, so you'd have to resort to wheat beer. If you don't like that, you're out of luck. The beer tastes good. The dark beer is especially delicious. There's a €2 deposit on drinks. You only get it back with a glass and a deposit token. €5.90 for a small bowl of fries is quite steep. All side dishes cost extra, of course. A Maß (literally "liter") costs between €10.60 and €10.80.

Beer garden at the Chinese Tower – a dream location, but the food is the last straw. The beer garden at the Chinese Tower is truly a dream. The atmosphere is unique – in the middle of the English Garden, a cold beer under a chestnut tree, it's a great place to be. But the food? Unfortunately, it's not at all up to the standard you'd expect. The dishes look good at first glance, but we didn't really like anything. Lukewarm to cold, some of it downright bland and simply inedible. The so-called "Original Oxen Roll" was particularly disappointing. The roll itself was great, the salad was okay too – but the meat on it? A gray-brown mush that really has nothing to do with ox. For 10 euros, that's pretty ridiculous. I'll definitely come back for a drink – for a beer in such beautiful surroundings. But for the food? Not really. Maybe we should focus on quality instead of as much choice as possible. All I'm saying is: Berzen pizza... isn't necessary.

Good for a break in the English Garden.

If I want a shandy, that doesn't mean a beer with a single milliliter of soda in it. And if I want a ox meat sausage, that's exactly what I want and no other. Plus, all of this at exorbitant prices. What a rip-off. The music is unbearable, and I don't even want to know how crowded it gets during peak season when it's almost unbearable now. I don't need to have that again.

The beer garden at the foot of the 25-meter-high "Chinese Tower," originally built in 1789/90 (now a reconstruction of the original, which burned down in World War II), is a Munich institution that has long attracted locals and tourists en masse. When it's not completely overcrowded, it can also be described as cozy, as a day spent under the many shady trees with a "Radler" or "Russ" is truly relaxing. The team is generally quite well-organized and quick, which is quite an achievement considering the constant stream of guests. However, don't expect anything extravagant with the overpriced food: just standard beer garden fare—but in Bavaria, you can always bring your own snacks. The brass band housed in the tower and the equally reconstructed carousel with its Biedermeier flair add the special touches of the city's second-largest beer garden.

Sure, it's a tourist. Sure, it's busy. Sure, there are no freebies. But where else can you find such a beautiful place – with a playground, a carousel, police horses making their way around, plenty of shady beer benches under horse chestnut trees, delicious Hofbräu, the unmistakable Brizza (a MUST!), and the traditional tower brass band in the heart of the English Garden? Exactly. I like it for after-work drinks or with family ☀️🍺 Tip for all those "too expensive" complainers: You're allowed to bring your own food into the beer garden. Buy a liter of beer and bring the other stuff yourself ✌️

The food was poor quality and very expensive. The atmosphere is recommendable, though; you should just eat somewhere else.

The food was okay, but a bit pricey; a bottle of apple spritzer was €4.90. Otherwise, there were plenty of options for vegetarians.

They have made a great facility to rest after walking so much. It is magnificent for both eating and drinking. Since it is a self-service facility, you can visit the tiny shops with a tray in your hand and buy as much as you want. You also make your payment at the exit of the facility. They take a deposit for glasses and give you tokens. Then you can get your money back in cash from the place behind where you bought your food with those tokens. The employees are helpful but do not expect much smiling except for the ones at the cash register because they are tired of the crowd and the constant cooking; after all, you will stop by to eat, drink and have a pleasant time. Let me give you a little advice; take a short tour before buying your food and see what is available. Then buy your food (you should definitely get the fries no matter what you eat); then buy the sauces and finally buy the beers or whatever you are going to drink. The food is hot and the beers are cold by the way. After buying everything, you sit at the outdoor tables under the Chinese Tower and enjoy yourself. Some tables have umbrellas and some do not. Sometimes there is music in the Chinese Tower, if you come across it, I recommend you to listen to it until the end. Finally, there is a toilet at the back of the place where you get your food, next to where you get your glass deposits. Its cleanliness is open to discussion due to the crowd. There is someone sitting at the table right in the middle of the men's side and if you give them change they take it :) Don't think it's weird, after all, it's an area of ​​a for-profit business that needs to be cleaned.

Tourist trap. The location is great. That's it. Food: terrible, dry and fat meat, old and dry chips. And everything is ridiculously expensive. This is a classic tourist trap.

the price wasn’t really worth the food but i liked the atmosphere you’re eating at. there was an abundance of utensils. can’t believe i paid €6 or about $7 for a small peach tea drink lmao. I’d give the atmosphere a 5 if there wasn’t any bugs (hard to avoid or do anything about when you’re around a lake), but there was good music on a speaker for a restaurant nearby and it was filled with folks!

Great atmosphere. Beer is delicious. But €5.90 for a bowl of lukewarm fries. You have to be brave. Personally, I find that absurdly expensive for a self-service restaurant.

Poor price performance. The knuckle was really bad. The fries were ok, a little salty. Not customer friendly when serving food. The people who cleaned up were very friendly.

The people who serve cant understand very basic english words, and they seems to try to scam you putting more things than you order if they learn that youre a tourist. The prices are also higher than normal, i wouldn't suggest this place to a tourist. Bad experience.

When in Munich, you should definitely visit this traditional Bavarian Restaurant. The service is very quick and the food delicious. The atmosphere is very cozy and its very clean.

Total SCAM! We asked for a schnitzel and they put fries next to it without asking. It turned out that the fries was extra! But they do it for everyone who doesn't know, so they can get more money from you! The prices are also so high for the quality of the food you get. Definitely NOT recommended. Delicious dark beer and roasted chicken!

All expectations were met. Rustic Hofbräuhaus and the world is a guest. We ourselves sat at a table with a couple from California and a father and son duo from England. We all got our money's worth with both the food and the drinks. Despite the brief rain shower, we sat well protected under the chestnut tree in the beer garden.

Food is ok, be careful when returning the deposit!!! Only give out the deposit tokens when the money is on the counter. I handed in 5 glasses and 5 tokens, but they said there were only four. So you only get a deposit for 4 glasses. That ruined the actually positive impression.

The staff is so rude if you don't speak German ! As I was paying, the lady at the counter made fun of me fumbling to find my credit card, not bothering to switch to English, though she definitely did speak it. The food is great even if a little pricey, but nothing is translated to English, which blows my mind in such a touristic place.

It's really the worst experience These are people who are crazy about trying to rip you off. 1. I ordered a sausage, but when I received it, there was french fries on top that I didn't order. When I place an order, I am very excited because it is a grand party. 2. I ordered sausage, fries, and 500ml beer, and it cost over 25 euros. While I was eating, I thought about it and thought it was strange, so I went to the cashier and asked, and he told me what to do now haha. 3. Fortunately, I took a picture of the food before eating it, so when I asked how this combination could cost more than 25 euros, I was told it was 19 euros. 4. When I asked why they didn’t give me a receipt, so many people asked me how I could get a receipt. Everyone who took orders from other cashiers received receipts. 5. Absolute impudence! We had a voucher for the Hofbräuhaus, but the service didn't welcome it at all. Had to pay for it 3 times and had my eyes rolled 3 times because of it! There is no way to use the voucher in the shop! Tourist trap par excellence!!

Hair in my food, low quality stuff

Unfortunately we weren't here in perfect weather, so maybe that clouded my opinion a bit 😅 It's just a beer garden, everything is okay. However, I found some of the prices really wild. A large pretzel for almost €7. 😅 You have to want that. The beer costs almost €6 and is poured quickly. Because of all the foam you might end up with 0.4l instead of 0.5l. But well... it's all part of the mood 😅

An open facility in the open air. We were on a holiday and were very impressed by the orchestra on the second floor of the Chinese tower. A great place to relax with friends. I highly recommend the grilled mackerel. Nearby there is a children's playground with an old carousel.

Very atmospheric place! Something you need to see as a Tourist, for sure. The Bier is good as well as a food.

Nice traditional German takeaway food (bratwursts, currywursts, chips) and a choice of three beers. Reasonable pricing. Nicely placed in the middle of the English Garden, with trestle tables, and a wooden structure that occasionally hosts an oompah band.

Der Biergarten am Chinesischen Turm ist einfach eine Institution in München, er hat sich zwar in den letzten Jahren wie so vieles andere auch gewandelt, aber hat doch ein besonderes Flair, auch noch für Münchner. Was uns heute wieder mal aufgefallen ist und dazu führen wird, dass wir in Zukunft nur noch zum was trinken herkommen werden sind die unverschämten Preise und dazu die kleinen Portionen. Hendl waren am frühen Nachmittag bereits aus, der Braten zu fast € 12 war nur eine dünne Schweinebauchscheibe ohne Beilagen. Kartoffelsalat etc. schlagen nochmal mit fast € 5 zu Buche. Eine einzelne weiße Bratwurst € 5,30, Pommes € 5,20. Aber am übelsten fand ich den astronomischen Preis für die Schmalznudel (Auszogene) mit € 5.20!!! Da ist nicht viel dran und das Teil wird nur im heißen Fett ausgebacken. Einen Kuchen oder eine Torte für € 5,20 kann man selbst im teuren München lange suchen, und die machen in der Herstellung viel mehr Arbeit. Und diese frechen Preise auch noch in der Selbstbedienung. Mit solchen Wirten habe ich dann auch kein Mitleid und bleibe dem Lokal treu, wenn die Zeiten schlechter und die Gäste wegbleiben werden.

Went there yesterday with 8 people. 3 of them are lying flat today with food poisoning, all 3 had eaten spare ribs. Never again! Report to the RGU is out. Also very expensive, even by Munich standards.

Very simple meal for the price you pay compared to other Bier Garten in the city. Understanding the flow of ordering and paying was also not easy. To get back the €2 deposited to collect the beer mug, you must go to the deposit to deliver it.

Sehr schöner Biergarten. Es gibt viele Sitzplätze und man findet immer einen freien Platz. Es laufen ständig Security rum, die darauf achten das keine mitgebrachten Speisen verzehrt werden. Das finde ich in Ordnung. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist groß. Von Schnitzel, Haxe, Leberkäs, Currywurst, Pommes über Salate, Obazda, Kuchen gibt es alles. Es ist alles Selbstbedienung aber es gibt Leute, die benutze Teller abräumen.

Schöner Biergarten aber leider in 2023 hat die Qualität extrem nachgelassen, während die Preise unverschämt nach oben geklettert sind. Brezen steinhart und das Essen unterdurchschnittlich, eine Bratwurst 5,30…. Schon frech! werden nicht mehr hier essen!

Guter Biergarten, natürlich sehr voll , es gibt da ales zu essen und trinken! Negativ waren die Bemerkungen des Kassierers, man sollte doch mit Bargeld bezahlen . Die Leute würden alle mit Karte zahlen , das wäre so schlecht ? Warum auch immer, aber das passiert in Bayer öfter ? Sonst tolle Location

Wir waren das erste Mal hier und fühlten uns wie bei einer Massenabfertigung. Der Kellner hat sich nicht gerade mit Freundlichkeit überschlagen. Amsonsten war es ganz nett sich das ganze mal angeschaut zu haben.
