- While walking in the park, you suddenly come across a large, beautiful historical business in the middle of the trees. - It is self-service, they choose your food and price it accordingly. - We liked the fried chicken very much, the Schitzel had pork, it was not made of veal, we did not prefer it. - Various delicious drinks are available, you can eat your meal in the garden like a picnic, the atmosphere is very nice. - Prices are average and not too expensive

Really tasty and value for money Apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce.

The people who serve cant understand very basic english words, and they seems to try to scam you putting more things than you order if they learn that youre a tourist. The prices are also higher than normal, i wouldn't suggest this place to a tourist. Bad experience.

When in Munich, you should definitely visit this traditional Bavarian Restaurant. The service is very quick and the food delicious. The atmosphere is very cozy and its very clean.

Food is bad (and that's putting it very mildly). Beer garden is nice though.

I don't remember the last time I had such bad and overpriced (for what it was) food (crap). Tried to eat it but gave up after 5 mins. The atmosphere is ok as it is in the middle of the park, however this is where all the tourists go. I don't recommend it at all.

Completely overcrowded tourist hotspot. And the simplest pretzel is completely overpriced, dry and tasteless.

A nice beer garden, you can take a break to drink beer.

Total SCAM! We asked for a schnitzel and they put fries next to it without asking. It turned out that the fries was extra! But they do it for everyone who doesn't know, so they can get more money from you! The prices are also so high for the quality of the food you get. Definitely NOT recommended. I will never go there again.

Delicious dark beer and roasted chicken!

All expectations were met. Rustic Hofbräuhaus and the world is a guest. We ourselves sat at a table with a couple from California and a father and son duo from England. We all got our money's worth with both the food and the drinks. Despite the brief rain shower, we sat well protected under the chestnut tree in the beer garden.

The food (mock knuckle) was inedible. All the other food was just completely overpriced and of the lowest quality. I strongly advise against wanting to eat here.

Don't let the crowds dissuade you. Share a table with someone. Enjoy the food and massive drinks. And the live Band!

Food is ok, be careful when returning the deposit!!! Only give out the deposit tokens when the money is on the counter. I handed in 5 glasses and 5 tokens, but they said there were only four. So you only get a deposit for 4 glasses. That ruined the actually positive impression.

Self-service Otherwise it was really nice

The staff is so rude if you don't speak German ! As I was paying, the lady at the counter made fun of me fumbling to find my credit card, not bothering to switch to English, though she definitely did speak it. The food is great even if a little pricey, but nothing is translated to English, which blows my mind in such a touristic place.

It's really the worst experience These are people who are crazy about trying to rip you off. 1. I ordered a sausage, but when I received it, there was french fries on top that I didn't order. When I place an order, I am very excited because it is a grand party. 2. I ordered sausage, fries, and 500ml beer, and it cost over 25 euros. While I was eating, I thought about it and thought it was strange, so I went to the cashier and asked, and he told me what to do now haha. 3. Fortunately, I took a picture of the food before eating it, so when I asked how this combination could cost more than 25 euros, I was told it was 19 euros. 4. When I asked why they didn’t give me a receipt, so many people asked me how I could get a receipt. Everyone who took orders from other cashiers received receipts. 5. I complain about being ripped off, but they even mock me with their own words. I should have told you before paying. The prices for sides like fried potatoes are not even listed properly. 6. Crucially, the beer doesn’t taste that good either. I just got the mood right. I am attaching a photo of the cashier. Avoid this cashier Be sure to take a picture before eating because you might end up like me.

We are in the BG today in 2024. A nice atmosphere, but the prices have risen a lot and no longer correspond to the menu.

Quick and efficient service in a lovely environment. Great beer and the standard German fare on the menu.

Absolute impudence! We had a voucher for the Hofbräuhaus, but the service didn't welcome it at all. Had to pay for it 3 times and had my eyes rolled 3 times because of it! There is no way to use the voucher in the shop! Tourist trap par excellence!!

Hair in my food, low quality stuff

Unfortunately we weren't here in perfect weather, so maybe that clouded my opinion a bit 😅 It's just a beer garden, everything is okay. However, I found some of the prices really wild. A large pretzel for almost €7. 😅 You have to want that. The beer costs almost €6 and is poured quickly. Because of all the foam you might end up with 0.4l instead of 0.5l. But well... it's all part of the mood 😅

Large open space eateries. Good to enjoy a glass of beer and the garden green.

An open facility in the open air. We were on a holiday and were very impressed by the orchestra on the second floor of the Chinese tower. A great place to relax with friends. I highly recommend the grilled mackerel. Nearby there is a children's playground with an old carousel.

Very atmospheric place! Something you need to see as a Tourist, for sure. The Bier is good as well as a food.

Nice traditional German takeaway food (bratwursts, currywursts, chips) and a choice of three beers. Reasonable pricing. Nicely placed in the middle of the English Garden, with trestle tables, and a wooden structure that occasionally hosts an oompah band.

Der Biergarten am Chinesischen Turm ist einfach eine Institution in München, er hat sich zwar in den letzten Jahren wie so vieles andere auch gewandelt, aber hat doch ein besonderes Flair, auch noch für Münchner. Was uns heute wieder mal aufgefallen ist und dazu führen wird, dass wir in Zukunft nur noch zum was trinken herkommen werden sind die unverschämten Preise und dazu die kleinen Portionen. Hendl waren am frühen Nachmittag bereits aus, der Braten zu fast € 12 war nur eine dünne Schweinebauchscheibe ohne Beilagen. Kartoffelsalat etc. schlagen nochmal mit fast € 5 zu Buche. Eine einzelne weiße Bratwurst € 5,30, Pommes € 5,20. Aber am übelsten fand ich den astronomischen Preis für die Schmalznudel (Auszogene) mit € 5.20!!! Da ist nicht viel dran und das Teil wird nur im heißen Fett ausgebacken. Einen Kuchen oder eine Torte für € 5,20 kann man selbst im teuren München lange suchen, und die machen in der Herstellung viel mehr Arbeit. Und diese frechen Preise auch noch in der Selbstbedienung. Mit solchen Wirten habe ich dann auch kein Mitleid und bleibe dem Lokal treu, wenn die Zeiten schlechter und die Gäste wegbleiben werden.

Nice beer garden at the Chinese tower. A good selection of cold and warm dishes, as well as beer and non-alcoholic drinks. You can sit well here and enjoy the Bavarian flair. Plenty of space and very relaxing.

Went there yesterday with 8 people. 3 of them are lying flat today with food poisoning, all 3 had eaten spare ribs. Never again! Report to the RGU is out. Also very expensive, even by Munich standards.

As always, very tasty! Beer, Radi and Obazda! Self-service but very well organized! We will be back!

Very simple meal for the price you pay compared to other Bier Garten in the city. Understanding the flow of ordering and paying was also not easy. To get back the €2 deposited to collect the beer mug, you must go to the deposit to deliver it.

Sehr lecker und netter Service. Der Biergarten ist traumhaft

Sehr schöner Biergarten. Es gibt viele Sitzplätze und man findet immer einen freien Platz. Es laufen ständig Security rum, die darauf achten das keine mitgebrachten Speisen verzehrt werden. Das finde ich in Ordnung. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist groß. Von Schnitzel, Haxe, Leberkäs, Currywurst, Pommes über Salate, Obazda, Kuchen gibt es alles. Es ist alles Selbstbedienung aber es gibt Leute, die benutze Teller abräumen.

Schöner Biergarten aber leider in 2023 hat die Qualität extrem nachgelassen, während die Preise unverschämt nach oben geklettert sind. Brezen steinhart und das Essen unterdurchschnittlich, eine Bratwurst 5,30…. Schon frech! werden nicht mehr hier essen!

Guter Biergarten, natürlich sehr voll , es gibt da ales zu essen und trinken! Negativ waren die Bemerkungen des Kassierers, man sollte doch mit Bargeld bezahlen . Die Leute würden alle mit Karte zahlen , das wäre so schlecht ? Warum auch immer, aber das passiert in Bayer öfter ? Sonst tolle Location

Wir waren das erste Mal hier und fühlten uns wie bei einer Massenabfertigung. Der Kellner hat sich nicht gerade mit Freundlichkeit überschlagen. Amsonsten war es ganz nett sich das ganze mal angeschaut zu haben.

Le concept est super et à faire si vous venez à Munich, mais ça reste hyper simple et pourtant cher pour ce que c'est. Le service était incroyable, en total décalage avec le contact allemand qu'on a eu en une semaine à Munich, très désobligeant et moqueur vis à vis des touristes. Mention spéciale à la caissière désagréable, qui nous hurle "you MUST pay for it" pour un article qu'elle avait oublié de compter, alors que nous n'étions toujours pas parti du comptoir, et qui nous lache un "tssss" en guise d'au revoir.

There is a great walking path and cycling road to this area. The vibe was great!

Ich wäre gerne mit der Freundin auf den Turm gegangen aber da spielten gerade Musiker. Bin mir aber nicht sicher ob man da sonst hoch könnte, wäre aber bestimmt mega cool die Aussicht von diesem Turm zu geniessen. Toll war das man auch wen man nichts konsumiert hatte auf die Toiletten durfte.

Sitio típico de Múnich para comer platos típicos de la zona. Incluso te puedes llevar tú propia comida y consumir la bebida del lugar. Buen sitio para disfrutar con los amigos y la familia.

Food is very expensive for very average quality. I went on 7/12/23 around dinner time. Older cook working sausages wasn’t very pleasant when I asked for a box for my leftovers. Started complaining to his co workers. Everyone else working that same line was great. Lady working desserts was also fantastic. It’s sad how one worker can really ruin an almost perfect service experience. They had multiple vegan options which was great so I have high praise for that.

Unhöflich, nicht preiswert und mittelmäßiges Essen. Sparts euch den Schmarrn, es gibt deutlich bessere Biergärten in Bayern...

Gemütlicher Biergarten mit vielen Plätzen. Die Selbstbedienung funktioniert sehr gut und es kommt auch bei vielen Leuten kaum zu Wartezeiten. Wir waren da auf ein paar Bier und zum essen. Die Auswahl ist groß und die Preise empfanden wir als Fair. War ein gelungener Tagesabschluss in diesem schönen Park.

Sehr schöner Zwischenstopp nach einer Erkundungstour! Wir sind zum Mittagessen hier eingekehrt. Von der Organisation her super. Dadurch, dass man Essen und Getränke an separaten Ständen bekommt und erst am Ausgang zahlt, gab es keinerlei Warteschlangen oder unnötiges Rumstehen. Die Brizza hat 12.80€ gekostet. Das halbe Maß Radler 5.50€. Beim Essen gab es eine große Auswahl an “typisch bayrischen” Gerichten. Auch Kaffe und Kuchen sowie vegetarische Gerichte waren dabei. Zum Essen hat man dann die freie Platzwahl und kann im Schatten oder der Sonne sitzen. Toiletten waren auch direkt nebenan. Alles in allem ein guter Stopp, den man nach einer Erkundungstour durch München aufsuchen kann.

Erg druk en duur voor selfservice. Drank was niet bijzonder goed. De reuzen pretsel was wel lekker en het is een mooie omgeving. Leuk voor een verfrissing tijdens een wandeling te doen en er eens te zijn, maar geen aanrader om te gaan eten.

Very well organised place with loads of Bavarian atmosphere. Food is Navarian and of good standard. Loads of different people of all walks of life. But why do you have to take your empty beer mug to a totally different place before you can get a fresh beer and just exchange glasses?? Puzzles me.

Muss man schon mitnehmen, wenn man in München ist. Schöner Biergarten in toller Umgebung.

Super Biergarten, welche viele Plätze in der Sonne sowohl als auch im Schatten bietet. Dort sucht man sich im Innenbereich sein Essen und trinken aus und zahlt beim rausgehen. Einziges Manko sind die langen Wartezeiten

Gemütlich:) oft viel los aber es gibt viele Plätze also kann man im ruhigen oder zusammen sitzen. Manchmal wird Musik gespielt und es gibt auch ein Spielplatz in der nähe. Relaxed.:) it is often busy there but there are many seats available so you can decide to be in a busy or more quiet place. Sometimes they do have music there and they do have a good entertainment for kids also.

Diesmal nix gegessen, aber das Ambiente ist Klasse, zudem gibt es auch passende Musik
