I've eaten very well there several times. The price is okay.

We had a lovely Christmas celebration there.

I was there for the Christmas party with my department. We did some curling and then ate. The lanes are great, real ice. I just think the place is way too brightly lit. It doesn't create a cozy atmosphere at all. But what I found worst of all was how small the portions in the restaurant have become. The meat in the schnitzel was thinner than the breading. No joke, no exaggeration. The taste was great. But after one main course, I don't want to have room in my stomach for a second one. What a shame. The whole team was disappointed.

This Munich institution is always worth a visit. We were in the Kurfürstenstub’n in the evening, in a very cozy atmosphere. The food and beer were delicious as always 😋

The only thing that was truly royal about our meal was the service. The onion roast beef was cooked through the first time, and then raw and swimming in sauce on the second attempt. The ambiance was good, as expected.

We were there on a Sunday, and all the tables were full. The service was truly excellent, and the food arrived quickly. Because of the number of people, it was quite noisy. It's much easier to have a conversation during the week. The food was all delicious and beautifully presented.

We were there the day after All Saints' Day, on Sunday. I will never set foot in there again. I ordered duck with dumplings, my friend ordered pork knuckle, and both dishes were clearly precooked, frozen, and reheated. The dumpling wasn't fresh either, with a hard center. We couldn't eat it. It's tourist traps, a complete dumping ground. The absolute worst.

Six of us had lunch at the Hirschgarten on Saturday. The food was, as usual, very good. Special mention goes to our waiter (unfortunately, I don't have his name), who made our stay a wonderful experience with his constant attention, great friendliness, and humor.

Waited over 30 minutes and the waiters refuse to serve us so we went somewhere else.

The roast pork was good, the usual concrete crust was quite small, but I'm not that keen on that anyway. The gravy was good, no thickening taste. The coleslaw is extra, it was good. I could have done without the parsley and cherry tomatoes, but they weren't too bad. My friends were also happy with the Obatzten (sweet potato wedges). The restaurant is quite tastefully decorated, the waitresses are attentive even under pressure, but the noise level can be quite high. 19/20/2025 Today the church fair goose was a bit dry, the apples in the Waldorf salad were tasteless, and the walnuts were a bit rancid. The red cabbage was good. A real shame, I expected more.

My daughter Faeryl and I are travelling all over! We came all the way from New Zealand. So very very happy we found this beautiful beer garden. Amazing food, delicious cold Radler, and our server Alek was thee best! We walked back to our accommodation through the gorgeous Hirshgarten. All round lovely experience. Portions were significantly too small for the price (e.g., roast beef with onions). The atmosphere resembled a train station concourse—a hectic bustle. No one came to the table after serving. Reordering drinks or dessert was not possible. We tried the location for our company Christmas party—the large beer garden would be more recommended in the summer.

We'll be back... Half a duck with red cabbage and potato dumplings was really very good... 🤩 I can recommend it without reservation.

You shouldn't support scammers. The picture is of the Maß I received (haven't had a sip yet). Optimistically, that's 900 ml (the calibration mark for 1 liter is above the groove in the glass...). So, for every 10 Maß, this "beer garden" has "saved" one. And when you arrive for a refill, the excuse that I've already had it will surely come up...no thanks!

THE beer garden in Munich. At least, it's the largest, with approximately 7,000 seats. It's beautifully situated, but parking is a hit or miss. Pretzels, Obazda (traditional Bavarian sausage), and other delicacies are delicious. The waitress area also serves many other Bavarian delicacies. There are playgrounds for children. In the self-service area, you can bring your own snacks, just like in many large beer gardens. You can get drinks from the various taps. But you should really enjoy the many delicacies on offer. The beer garden is also easily accessible by public transport.

An absolutely wonderful experience at the Royal Hirschgarten in Munich! We were there for lunch – in glorious sunshine in the beautiful outdoor area right next to the park, with a view of the deer and roe deer. A brass band played traditional Bavarian songs, and the atmosphere was simply perfect: relaxed, authentic, and typically Munich. The service was extremely friendly, the beer ice-cold and delicious, and the food was also excellent – ​​the half knuckle of pork and the roast pork with crackling were particularly delicious. What makes the Hirschgarten so special: It's both quiet and relaxing in the countryside, but the terrace has a lively, cheerful atmosphere. An ideal mix for anyone who wants to experience Bavarian coziness. A clear recommendation – we had a great lunch and will definitely be back!

Overall the place is okay, but I didn’t like that my Schorle was served noticeably underfilled. It gave the impression of carelessness and spoiled the experience a bit. I hope the staff will pay more attention to such details.

We were apparently scammed at the restaurant. We were dining with a group, and our actual bill was €387. However, the waiter billed us €450. Only after we asked for it did he provide the detailed bill. After a lengthy discussion, we were finally able to partially reclaim the overcharge. In addition, the tip was already included in the bill without any question or agreement. Nevertheless, the waiters subsequently demanded another tip, giving us the impression that we hadn't yet given one.

The currywurst and fries were bad, soggy sausage and dry fries... €14 for the total is unjustified. Plus, a shandy for just under €9. The atmosphere is quite nice, though...

The best Bavarian beer garden by far

Unfortunately, since the change in management, the quality of the food has deteriorated considerably. When ordering water, a bottle is automatically served, and the Aporol Spritz, which costs 14.50, is supposedly a large one. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend it.

On the last day of summer, in pleasant weather, we had a handful of fries with a brass band playing. Good service, reasonable prices, and therefore highly recommended.

Great place to get ripped off as a tourist. The old guy pouring beers of Augustiner loved to make sure you don’t get a full pour at $8.50 a pop. Every time. Picture represents a pour before I even took a sip…for those of you that don’t know, a full pour is to that ridged line. Way to rip off everyone, Hirschgarten.

Unfortunately, almost all of the large trees weren't in good condition. The leaves were completely dry. Why can't these trees be watered? The food arrived extremely quickly. A hot plate or something similar.

The Hirschgarten has a cozy, very large beer garden with adjacent deer enclosures. A very interesting place for children. But I've never eaten such bad Obatzter. Just creamy, with a little Camembert. So you couldn't see any pieces of cheese. Furthermore, the employee scooped the Obatzter from a large plastic bowl onto the plate with his ladle, which was still in water. The water was completely cloudy with cheese. Not exactly hygienic. On the other hand, the spareribs were reasonably fresh and had a good flavor. The beer, as always, was the best from Munich.

I've been here many times and always thought it was great. Both in terms of price and the cozy atmosphere. I'm deducting one star because last time I had a very unfriendly employee named P. Müller, and that really wasn't nice. Being treated so unfriendly ruined my whole evening. I always got my beer with a lot of foam and waited until the foam was gone. It was 1-1.5 cm below the glass line. That's pretty bad. If it's a little less, no problem, but just foam and then much less than ordered is really not acceptable. I'd be happy to come back, but I hope to either find the waiter in a good mood or not be served by him again.

The Hirschgarten is actually a beautiful place. The beer is good, and the Steckelfisch (expensive, but) is also very good. The location and atmosphere are phenomenal. The only thing is the bar service is terrible! I got the worst-filled beer there. When I immediately complained that the beer was only 3/4 full, I was brazenly called an idiot who didn't realize that the foam would settle first! The trade inspectorate should take a look at this! It's a shame that unfriendly and rude staff are spoiling what should be a nice place!

Very nice beer garden, but at Schenke 1 you rarely get a full liter. After the foam disappears, you'll see what you're getting.

One of the largest beer gardens in Germany, a former hunting ground for the king, so it is easy to find deer even though it is now in a closed enclosure. They have a beer garden or a closed enclosure.

For me, the Königlicher Hirschgarten is the most beautiful beer garden in Munich! The atmosphere is unique – huge, yet cozy, with the deer enclosures right next door. The food is classic Bavarian, fresh, and delicious, and the liter of beer tastes simply exceptional here. Whether with friends, family, or visitors from abroad – everyone feels at home here. The service is friendly and prompt, despite the size of the garden. A piece of authentic Munich that you absolutely have to experience!

On July 29, 2025, my wife and I were at the Hirschgarten restaurant. First of all, we haven't had such a bad meal in a very long time. We ordered two alcohol-free Augustiner beer, which were served very quickly and tasted excellent, and two Wiener Schnitzels. However, the two Wiener Schnitzels arrived within five minutes of ordering, which doesn't exactly indicate fresh preparation; that's how they tasted, too. Lukewarm with a spongy coating. Since I'm diabetic and had already injected insulin, the waiter was nowhere to be seen, and we were also very hungry, we just ate the food. When paying, I spoke to the waiter about it. Besides the usual platitudes about how I should have complained sooner, but he was nowhere to be seen, his response culminated in the statement that with so much food being served, something could happen. Then please don't put a Wiener Schnitzel on the menu for almost €30.00 if the kitchen isn't capable of preparing a Wiener Schnitzel fresh—and not, as the waiter then admitted, just frying a lot and then keeping it "warm"—and serving it warm with crispy breading to the guest. The only pleasant thing was the very friendly and nice lady who took the table reservation over the phone. I sent an email to the restaurant, but it hasn't been answered yet, hence my warning in the forum about the Wiener Schnitzel at the Hirschgarten Restaurant.

One of the best beer gardens (and the largest) in Munich. They serve Augustiner beer, you can get your own stein, if you want a shandy, you can pour yourself a soda, and they serve fish on a stick from the fisherman Vroni—what more could you want? ;-)

We were in the waitress area of the Hirschgarten. The food was good for the size of the area. Unfortunately, the roast pork was only lukewarm. There could have been a bit more meat. Beautiful ambiance, but unfortunately disappointing service on our last visit We enjoy visiting the Hirschgarten every year and have always been very satisfied. Yesterday, too, we were initially greeted warmly by a lady and seated at a table. Shortly, however, a waiter came over with a grim expression and questioned why four of us were sitting at a table for eight (we were four adults and three children). Unfortunately, he remained consistently unfriendly throughout the restroom service. Twice, he brought us additional items we hadn't ordered, claiming they were ours. When paying, we decided not to tip because of his behavior. He then said, "You're probably not from Bavaria; we tip 10% here." My response was, "If you'd been friendly, I would have gladly tipped you." I'm always happy to tip for good service. Unfortunately, I have to deduct another star for the very dirty restrooms in the self-service area. Nevertheless, the atmosphere with the deer in the enclosure next door remains beautiful, and so far we have always had positive experiences in the Deer Garden.

The day we were there, it was raining heavily, but we got a table at the restaurant. The food was delicious and plentiful, and it arrived quickly.
