Very small pork knuckle. Generally relatively small portions for Bavarian standards. Waiters could have been nicer, but they weren't unfriendly. We were also put in the same room as a huge group of exchange students, so it was very loud. However, I don't think that's a bad thing in a pub, it's relatively normal there. However, my companion found this negative, All in all, I would still come back, complaining at a high level.

Das Positive vorneweg: Selbst im hektischen Vorweihnachtsbetrieb bekamen wir ohne Reservierung an einem Freitagabend noch einen Tisch und der Service war trotz riesiger Weihnachtsfeier im Nachbarsaal freundlich, aufmerksam und humorvoll. Im Aussenbereich kann es im sommerlichen Hochbetrieb in Münchens größten Biergarten schon mal ruppig zugehen und die Schankkellner schenken nach Wies-n-Art ein; Auf der Wies-n finden viele Gäste das "mega", weil bekannt und eh egal, im Hirschgarten dagegen fühlt man sich hintergangen. Kann nur sagen: Augenzwinkernd nachschenken lassen und den Schatten der zahlreichen Kastanienbäume bei einer selbst mitgebrachten Brotzeit mit Freunden genießen. PS.: Im Preisvergleich von 60 Münchener Biergärten für 1 Maß Radler im SB-Bereich rangiert der Hirschgarten unverändert in der günstigeren unteren Hälfte!

We're always drawn back here! The prices are still affordable and the food always offers good value for money. I like the roast pork, the farmer's duck and the Kaiserschmarn. My wife and daughter think that the pork schnitzel is unbeatable. When it comes to ambience, it depends on which room of the restaurant you choose. I like the rooms best. But certainly a matter of taste. Unfortunately, the beer glasses are not always filled to the calibration mark. Sometimes really full underneath. Really a shame.

Not a good beer garden. I was here on July 24th. and tried the curry sausage and the Kaiserschmarn. The curry sausage was absolutely disgusting, but the Kaiserschmarn was quite good. In addition, many products were very overpriced for their actual quality. The supposed "miracle schnitzel" is served with pork, although the original should always be veal. What is very annoying is that, like in the last century, only cash is accepted here. Credit cards or even EC cards are not accepted. Furthermore, no care is taken to ensure that the mask requirement is adhered to. There are much better beer gardens in Munich.

As a child I really enjoyed coming here with my mum and as an adult I still come regularly to visit my boyfriend!

It's getting more and more expensive...... And the portions are getting smaller and smaller. Smaller plates and only half portions. (Portion size reduced by almost half) and very poorly poured. a pint of beer is just 0.7 l

Very good food! The Wiener Schnitzel made from veal with potato salad was simply fabulous. There were only two of us, which is why the food was served on the table after an incredible 10 minutes. If there's a lot going on, it's probably not as fast at the table and it's a little louder. The waitress only came once to ask about the drinks and food, but when we didn't want ketchup with it, no one came over to ask if everything was okay and we didn't want to contact us. Otherwise everything was great, the service was still super nice. Highly recommended for traditional Bavarian cuisine!

Unfortunately, the food has now fallen to mediocre at best. Portions are tiny, quality is mediocre - everyone can do it at home - so the price is way too high. Only the ambience, the service and the Augustiner beer make it stand out a little. It's a shame about this once wonderful inn! I've been a regular for years but I'd rather go somewhere else now. Luckily there are plenty of alternatives!

It was a nice afternoon in the Hirschgarten until we were approached in a very rude manner by Ms. Cornelia Bartz (operations manager). We should refrain from heating the fireplace ourselves, the staff is responsible for that. But there was no indication (notes, etc.) that the guests were not allowed to do it themselves. But in the entire time we didn't see anyone taking care of the fireplace. Then why are there these ovens outside where you can warm yourself? People have been watching us for a very long time and come with a general tone about what we are doing here? Very rude of the lady! If the beer is not served properly, which is generally the case, that is fine and should be accepted by the guest without hesitation. If this is how the paying guest is treated, the landlord should think about whether he has the right staff for customer service. Especially today in the catering industry, the customer is king. That brings in the sales or am I wrong...

This biergarten felt far more authentic than the larger ones, though I'm no expert, nor am I German. The beer was excellent and the food was really solid. The meals came out damn near instantaneously. I had duck and and a potato dumpljng with apple cabbage sour kraut. My wife had cream and mushroom with bread dumpling. Both were great. Our waitress was nice, in a German sort of way and we made due with rough translations. There is a menu in English via QR code on the German menu. Many locals at this location and out side was a section with seasonal games (ice based games in December) and an area with reindeer. Totally recommend.

Great place. In summer and winter. For eating and just drinking. Nice staff. Nice events. Winter hut, curling, open fire, music, etc. The only thing to complain about: notoriously poorly poured beer. In particular 0.5 liters. glasses. It's actually a shame. After all, everyone should pay the full price and not just 90%

This restaurant was awesome. We came here just to do curling (at the bar outside), but arrived a bit early. We asked for a table for ten and to try to finish the entire meal in just under an hour - and on Christmas Eve, no less! The proprietor was very cheerful and welcomed us in with no fuss at all. The food came out really quick, everything was excellent. Huge selection of every German food you can think of. Seemed to be a place full of locals, which is in my opinion the true measure of a restaurant as a traveler. I'd 100% return here!

I recently visited Munich's Hirschgarten and all I can say is that I was absolutely thrilled. Our visit began with two hours of curling, an activity I had never tried before. Despite my inexperience, I was able to quickly get used to the game. The real ice rinks were well prepared and offered a great playing experience. Interestingly, there were significant differences between each ice stick, which made the game even more exciting. During the two hours the ice rink changed drastically due to the changing temperatures, but this in no way diminished the fun. Everyone involved had great fun and the atmosphere was simply fantastic. The area was set up like a small Christmas market, with various huts where you could buy drinks and food. The service was particularly pleasant: waitresses came by regularly and asked if we would like to order something. The atmosphere between the trees was lovely and there were two fire-heated stoves to warm up while enjoying a drink. After curling we went to the pub. The furnishings were very attractive and I immediately felt at home. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service staff were consistently courteous, friendly and professional. The food was really excellent. I was particularly surprised by the fair price-performance ratio: €13.90 for a roast pork or €14.90 for half a knuckle are really very good by Munich standards. I expected higher prices. The food came quickly, and although two orders were missing something, the error was promptly corrected. Overall, my visit to the Munich Hirschgarten was very nice. I would come back at any time, both for curling and for food. An all-round successful day in a wonderful atmosphere!

Disappointing experience in the restaurant – beer garden remains second to none After several visits to this restaurant I decided to write a review. While the beer garden is a real highlight in summer, we were unfortunately once again disappointed by the service and food in the restaurant. We reserved a table for seven people and ordered half duck three times. Instead we were served quartered duck. The waiter explained that he couldn't change anything because otherwise he would have to pay the extra charge himself. Our willingness to cover the difference was also rejected - we should accept the quartered duck. After much discussion we agreed, but to our horror the duck was cold. In addition, the dumplings we ordered were only served after we had finished eating. A starter that we had previously ordered also only came after the main course. It is incomprehensible that such mistakes happen, especially when there are enough staff. I expect a lot more from a restaurant of this type - and especially in conjunction with such a renowned beer garden. Unfortunately, this was our last visit, as the treatment of the guests and the quality of the food did not live up to expectations.

I grew up nearby. The beer garden is the largest I know. Brass music on Sundays in summer. Curling rinks with catering have been in operation in winter for several years. Shortly before Christmas we were inside the restaurant, which has numerous rooms. In December you have to make a reservation because there's something going on here every day, including big Christmas parties etc. But the place is also well attended, although it can be very loud. All Bavarian and other specialties from the Alpine region are on the menu. We had farm duck, spaetzle and Kaiserschmarrn. A dessert with apple strudel. Everything was good and also inexpensive. I had tried the crusted pork roast on a previous visit. At €13.90 it’s inexpensive and yet tasty. Augustiner is served. There are 5☆ for the beer garden. One of the best atmospheric places I know with a large park around it. Children play in the surrounding meadows or feed the deer in the enclosure. Later you can choose from various playgrounds within walking distance. The restaurant gets 4☆ because it's not always comfortable given the noise and the food is good, but not outstanding. But on the other hand, it is inexpensive. The service is sometimes friendly and sometimes indifferent, as can happen with a business of this size. The predominantly Bavarian local audience takes it all in stride. In total there are 5☆ because the combination of an atmospheric beer garden with self-service and take-away options + a rustic restaurant with a large menu is rare, even in Munich. Everyone will find something for themselves here and that is worth the high praise.

The waiters are very nice, polite and accommodating, both in the curling area and in the "Poacher Huts". The food came for 20 of us almost at the same time. Simply delicious! Best Bavarian experience. Delicious food and very cozy atmosphere indoors. Traditional decorations and lightings. The schweinbraten I had was the best one ever, the meat was very tender. Service was great as it wasn’t too crowded but it may be different when it’s full. Good beers to complement the meal. The beer garden outside is huge as well. There is a icestocken game which you can play as well, may need reservations for that.

If there's one beer garden for me to avoid, it's definitely the Hirschgarten. The reputation of the idyll in the city was ruined by the unfriendly and almost arrogant treatment of me. I came back here several times to give the beer garden a chance. I think it's a shame how I'm treated as a customer here. I'm not referring to a single person, but to the vast majority who work here.

We celebrated our class reunion there and were a group of around 70 people in a separate area of ​​the restaurant. The waiters were friendly, attentive and quick, the deer garden salad with goat cheese tasted extremely good, the menu is varied and we were able to borrow a projector, screen and microphone for €100. Unfortunately there are not enough parking spaces available for a restaurant of this size.

A restaurant in the middle of Munich! I love the Hirschgarten, from my time in Munich. And there the Gasthaus Hirschgarten invites you to really good food with top service! We were there in a large group. But the beer garden is also very nice. The game dishes are a poem. Absolute recommendation.

The Royal Hirschgarten is the largest beer garden in the world. Here Augustiner is served from a wooden barrel. There are tasty spare ribs and a wonderful view of the deer enclosure!

Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und freundlich, das Bier wie immer extrem lecker. Allerdings war das Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalb handwerklich komplett falsch zubereitet. Die Panade klebte am Fleisch und war absolut null knusprig. Ich bezweifle sogar, dass das Schnitzel in der Pfanne zubereitet wurde. Die Bratkartoffeln waren eigentlich grob geschnittene Salzkartoffeln die nur ganz kurz angebräunt wurden. Für um die 26 Euro ist das Preis Leistung Verhältnis sehr schwach.

Nos animaron a pedir el apfelkucher para el desierto y no decepcionó! El ambiente nos recordó a un jardín de cerveza en casa - nos encantó!

Went late in the evening, 1900 (7pm). Walked to the seater and asked to sit outside because it was a pleasant day even during the evening. However, we were sat inside and pretty much the furtherest place away from everything. It was us and another group of younger women in the entire section. I had the meatballs and potato salad to eat, the salad was okay (about as good as store bought), and the meatballs were worse than prepackaged store bought. The beer was pretty standard, so major knocks there. But the ambiance of the hall reminded me of chain restaurants in the US. Food service was quick, but overall service was only average. Beer was pretty standard, good, but (from what I could tell) not anything that I couldn't get at another place in Munich that might have been more welcoming. It wasn't worth the trip, overpriced, reheated food (probably microwaved from how quick it came out), zero ambiance and unpersponable staff. It seems to be riding on the fact that they are the biggest brew house in Munich, but if Gordon Ramsey as still.doing Kitchen Nightmares I'd recommend he go here for an epsiode.

A nice place to relax, get a bite to eat and drink delicious beer after a walk in the park (and of course, feeding the deer 🤗)! The Debrezeiner sausages were especially delicious - the smoky flavour pairs very well with the side of horseradish. Been there again for a long time. A beer collapsed after foam, almost 3 cm below the calibration mark. Complained, answer, that's just the way it is in Bavaria. the stupidest answer ever. We were on the way home from a skiing holiday and had to stop in Munich because we all still had a seat from last evening. On recommendation we went to the Royal Deer Garden. We were able to sit outside and place our order with the friendly waitress. The food was delicious. Only the tarte flambée wasn't entirely convincing and cranberries with the Wiener schnitzel would have been fine. Nevertheless we would come again.

Decided to give a try on a wet Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. We had a lovely waiter who was attentive and sweet. Had the Flammkuchen which was good, the best I've had outside of Frankfurt yet. Also tried the venison goulash, very rich and came with buttered spaetzle. A nice treat on a cool rainy afternoon. Will definitely go back!
