One of the most authentic beer gardens. Highly recommended.

Beautiful beer garden with great cuisine and a relaxed atmosphere I was recently in this restaurant with an attached beer garden and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is very pleasant - whether in the cozy indoor area or outside in the spacious beer garden, you immediately feel at home. The self-service area in the garden is particularly nice and is ideal for a relaxing evening with friends or family. The dishes are not only a highlight in terms of taste, but also a real visual delight. Everything is lovingly prepared and you can immediately tell that the work here is done with quality and dedication. Whether classics or seasonal dishes – everything we tried was delicious! A place to come back – and with pleasure. Absolute recommendation!

The food was terrible. No flavor, no spice. Service was worse! The waiter had to be hunted down every time we needed something. Never came by to ask us what we needed or if everything was ok.... This was a totally forgettable experience.

Delicious food and good service in a great atmosphere

ATTENTION!!! We were sitting in the restaurant's service area and had ordered two large bottles of Adelholzener STILL (still). Two Adelholzener bottles arrived. The bottle said "still" on it, but it contained carbon dioxide. The plastic rings on the bottles were also completely missing. This suggests that both bottles were already open and that they and the bottles had been filled by hand, presumably with tap water. Please make sure your water bottle is still sealed. To charge €7.60 for tap water that you filled yourself is outrageous. We also had four Wiener veal schnitzels. They were pounded so thin that the breading was thicker than the meat. Unfortunately, they were also very dry. One of the four schnitzels was also extremely small, with three ends, and that's for €30 per schnitzel! For us, it took 30 minutes outside on the serviced terrace until the waiter came to us so we could place our order.

A traditional Bavarian inn with delicious Augustiner beer. Everyone feels at home here, whether in the pub or in the beautiful beer garden.

An original. We were here in winter, so no beer garden. Inside it is traditionally Bavarian decorated with a lot of love for history and culture. The food is rich and delicious. Reservation is recommended.

Beautiful beer garden with lots of shade and a children's playground. We only drank a wheat beer and a Spezi but we saw that some of the glasses were only half full of beer and the rest was full of foam! For €12/measure a “no go” for me! However, the guests paid without complaining.

Cool place just so unfortunate staff is so rude, one guy tried to help me find a table and the other guy was so horrible to him for trying to help me. Arrogant and rude, I ended up walking out I couldn’t handle it anymore

The beer garden has two areas. One area is half covered and has services. In the second area you have to take care of yourself at the counter. Wonderfully located under large trees with an adjacent meadow, simply very relaxing. A wonderful opportunity to organize football or other activities on the meadow. Very nice and suitable for children. The roast pork for under €16 is highly recommended. The Augustiner beer needs no description :)...

Yes, very nicely furnished, nice terrace on the 1st floor. It's just a shame that there is no elevator for barrier-free access. That or a stair lift would be a good investment.

Very nice beer garden and friendly staff at the bar. Unfortunately, the spare ribs were far too fatty and gristly. Unfortunately we couldn't eat it and had to leave the food with a guilty conscience. Too bad! But maybe it was just our choice and the rest tasted better :) It's also a matter of taste.

Simply a super-nice beer garden, just the way you want as a Munich resident, with delicious food, good beer and a relaxed social get-together. The service is friendly both in the self-service area and in the service area. The prices are a bit high, but no higher than in all other beer gardens in Munich. The restaurant for food and drink is definitely recommended! Particularly good: fresh Steckerlfisch and freshly made Kaiserschmarrn!

Kaiserschmarrn for 14.90 a small plate is tasty. The price is probably intentionally not shown on the boards because it is so expensive. When I ask the man at the counter, he tells me 12.90. Seems poorly organized.

Prices a little higher than the Munich average, but still within reason. Going to the toilet is a disaster - the steps need to be better marked. Waiter was on his toes. Food and beer were tasty. Paying by card is possible. There aren't many umbrellas set up. During the week, the mood/ambience had more to do with a sanatorium than a beer garden.

Always happy to come here. Large beer garden with seating for up to 2,500 outside. Feel free to bring food with you and enjoy a beer on a comfortable bench with friends! Just had a few beers outside today and then sat half inside and ate delicious cordon bleu and deer goulash 😊 right 👍 Great weather today and ate very well, and of course drank a beer, festival 🍺 Ate 300 gr. steak 😇 It was right 😋 Today soup first, then thick knuckle and spare ribs 😊 Right 👍 Today was a beautiful Easter Sunday in the beer garden, delicious knuckle and mackerel and beer with grappa and espresso 😀 Always happy to come here! The knuckle is so crispy and the beer is so 😋

Disaster. Spacious restaurant, large beer garden. Toilet in restaurant overcrowded (too many guests). A server recommends the toilets outside the beer garden. They are outdated, not clean and toilet paper is probably overrated - all cabins are out of stock and empty. After it was already difficult to find a parking space, I was looking forward to the food. It was okay, but not outstanding. The toilet problem forced me to drive home earlier. The disappointment is certainly evident.

I've never experienced anything like that. How can a plate taxi driver count when she's 50 years old and after 3 beers she can't get anything anymore? Are you crazy? It doesn't matter if I was/am in the hospital! Google the name and then they will talk to some Munich newspapers about it. Thanks

Delicious food in a great atmosphere. We were in the beer garden on April 11, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. Fast and friendly service. The daily delicacy “sailing” from the daily menu for under €10 was very good and the portion was also decent. The caramelized Kaiserschmarren was also very tasty. Absolutely recommended

We ate together with friends indoors and reserved a table in advance. Nevertheless, we were seated in the middle of two groups of companies, so it was constantly very loud and someone was constantly walking around our table. The beer tasted stale, but the food (cordon bleu and roast pork) was tasty and fresh. Priced but more expensive than comparable Bavarian restaurants that serve the same quality and quantity. Overall, not a complete experience, there are better inns

Nice beer garden, but beer is only sold by the measure, even with non-alcoholic beer 2 bottles are poured together but not sold individually - unfortunately it's a rip-off.

We where quite a big group. 9 adults and 7 kids. On a short notice they let us in with such a big group. Of course with that many kids we havent been an easy group. But the waiter did a golden level job. He tried to make everything possible even though one beer version ran out and they couldnt serve it anymore. But he was so good i gave 12€ tip on a 67€ bill.

Ate very tasty cordon bleu, went very quickly for lunch, was great! The bill was typed into the handheld at the table and then an amount was said. Afterwards I wondered about the amount for a while longer. Why not show the guest the listing by default like before? Then it is understandable. The beer garden has just been cleaned and set up and will definitely be great in the summer.

If it says Augustiner, it means quality. Great ambience, delicious food, fantastic beer. I'm already looking forward to the summer days and evenings so I can stay here longer.

I actually love the restaurant and also the beer garden. The food in the restaurant is very good, in the beer garden OK but could be improved. The location, the ambience and everything that goes with it is really nice. What is absolutely NOT OK is that the beer in the beer garden is only served a little more than half full. If you ask for more to be poured up to the calibration mark, you will be insulted and insulted by the bar owner in a foreign language. That's an absolute disgrace and you shouldn't allow yourself to do that. You'd better look for another beer garden...

We celebrated a wonderful big birthday in the Schützengarten! Thanks to the very professional staff, who served us very friendly and promptly and anticipated all our wishes. First of all, thank you very much for that. We were always well supplied with all food and drinks (the connoisseur knows the beer). Very nice restaurant with a beer garden. Pork knuckle with dumplings was very tasty and the beer was great anyway. Only the service could be a little more attentive, we sat relatively back and were often overlooked. More beer would have been possible 😉

The food was very good but the beer always leaves a lot of foam so that the calibration mark is not reached, it's a shame that you don't need it!

We arrived yesterday and spontaneously wanted to go out for dinner in the evening. We were able to reserve a table directly online. The staff is very friendly, the restaurant has a typical Bavarian charm and the food is very tasty. Our waitress was very friendly and did her job perfectly. We felt very comfortable and would be happy to eat there again at any time.

Very nice service and good food. The restaurant is rustically furnished and the beer garden is definitely great in summer. But there is a small downer. Although you serve a Radler, it is unfortunately not possible (due to management policy) to pour half a glass of beer and then fill the glass with cola. The waitress was kind enough to bring me a glass of beer, a glass of Cola and an empty glass for mixing. But I didn't want to and couldn't drink a full measure. It's a shame - everything else was fine.

Convinience food, you can eat it, but you don't have to. Food lukewarm, spare ribs barely seasoned, potato salad is industrial goods out of the bucket.

The Augustiner Schützengarten is premium gastronomy and the most beautiful beer garden in the south of Munich. An absolute recommendation!

Beautiful quaint restaurant. Friendly staff and the food is super delicious. There is Bavarian home cooking and also a season ticket. You can also find a table for two in a busy restaurant if you go before rush hour. Otherwise it is advisable to make a reservation.

I mean it was close to our hotel and we looked for a traditional German restaurant and food. They have it but I can not really say I enjoyed the pork shank since it was very dry. My friend had salad with beef but it is not really appetising. May be you shall go for other options.

Whenever I'm in Munich, I have to have a roast pork with red cabbage at least once. Absolutely recommended. In every way. For me, one of the best roast pork you can get in Munich. Crust 1a 👍

Except for Obatzter and Kaiserschmarrn (both recommended): disappointing main courses (dry meat, bitter sauce, rubbery potato dumplings). Dark hefeweizen was also out. Pretzels good. Young, pretty, friendly waitress sweetened our evening. The style of the restaurant is appealing inside and out.

The restaurant has a cozy, spacious feel with a warm atmosphere. The food was good, portions were generous, and prices felt reasonable for today’s economy. Personally, I found the food a bit too oily for my taste, but that’s just a matter of preference—a "Geschmackssache". The service was friendly, though there’s room for improvement in professionalism. When I ordered a side of vegetables and asked what types were included, the waiter laughed and replied, “Gemüse halt!” It felt a bit dismissive, though I’m sure he didn't mean any harm. Overall, it was an enjoyable visit with nice food, and I’d still recommend it for a relaxed meal in a welcoming setting.

Was there as a guest for a silver wedding anniversary. Everything was right. Food was good, conditions were nice and attentive, beer was good.

We came spontaneously, unfortunately there was no space available. However, a place at a bar table was temporarily offered because it was assumed that someone would definitely leave soon. Less than 10 minutes later the time had come. In short: very tasty food, typically Bavarian, very attentive service, great atmosphere. That's what we imagine as tourists when we go to Munich. Prices seemed relatively cheap to us for what was on offer. very fair.

I was here for the first time. The waitress really did a great job, even though it was noticeable that she was ailing. We were more people than stated in the reservation, and she handled that really well, despite moving the tables 🙈 Food and drinks were good. The prices are absolutely ok. There is a point deduction because the room (Kitzalm) we were in was rotting terribly. Like a damp basement. I only saw the beer garden in the dark, but I could still see that it is certainly beautiful there in summer.
