Das Essen und der Service waren hervorragend, aber die Tische im Inneren müssten dringend renoviert werden...

Ein sehr tolles Restaurant mit kleinem Biergarten. Das Essen (Gyros, Suvlaki, Hähnchenspieß) war sehr lecker. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Die Gerichte haben kleine Portionen, daher kein gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Der Service des älteren grauhaarigen Herrn ist unfreundlich!

Beste Grieche in der Stadt. Wir gehen schon seit mehreren Jahren hin. Hunde, Katzen, Papageien, Hamster, Hasen, Meerschweinchen usw. dürfen leider nicht mehr mit ins Lokal. Dies finde ich in Ordnung.

Es war okay. Essen war gut .Service sehr gut und sehr freundlich. Das einzige was .Ich stört man darf weder innen noch außen Hunde mitbringen.

Juni 2026 Seit einiger Zeit dürfen keine Hunde mehr in Helena, nicht einmal in den Biergarten, schade damit verliert es uns als Stammkunde. Wie sind seit vielen Jahren Stammgäste und haben seit 4 Wochen einen Hund. Bei der Reservierung habe ich gefragt, ob sie mit darf und da sie noch ein Welpe ist, was es kein Problem. Sie hat brav in ihrer Tasche geschlafen. Das große Hunde ein Problem sein könnten, wenn sie nicht brav sind, kann ich verstehen.

Leckeres Grillgut, großzügige Portionen und freundliches Personal. Wir bekamen vor dem Essen einen kleinen Ouzo, der fantastisch war!

Die Mousakka kam außen heiß und innen kalt und man hat deutlich geschmeckt, dass sie schon älter war. Insgesamt geschmacklich nicht überzeugend. Würde ich von der Karte nehmen, wenn das Gericht nicht so oft bestellt wird. Die Karte ist groß genug. Die anderen Speisen am Tisch waren überzeugender. Service sehr herzlich und nett, Getränke kamen zügig. Insgesamt 3 Sterne, trotz enttäuschender Mousakka.

Wirklich sehr ordentliche und griechische Küche. Üppige Karte, Gerichte für jeden Geschmack und auch ins kleinen Portionen möglich. Die Küche ist sehr gut, und seit vielen Jahren auf stabil hohen Niveau. Preislich in Ordnung. Service freundlich und aufmerksam, aber nicht zu aufdringlich. Sonderwünsche problemlos möglich. Der Laden ist grundsolide, eine Institution im Quartier, die Quote von Stammgästen entsprechend hoch. Ich würde reservieren!

Das Essen wird heiss serviert - nicht selbstverständlich - sehr lecker, aufmerksame Bedienungen, leere Teller werden zeitnah abgetragen. Wer gut griechisch Essen gehen will, hier ist er richtig. Ein wohliges satt sein Gefühl 🙂 Reservierung ist empfehlenswert!

Ein wundervolles Restaurant in griechischer Familienbesitz. Es besteht bereits seit 45 Jahren, was wirklich beeindruckend ist. Es ist ein unglaublich gemütliches und authentisches Lokal, das die griechische Kultur und Atmosphäre wunderbar bewahrt. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet, die Speisekarte bietet eine riesige Auswahl und die Wartezeiten sind minimal. Wir waren wirklich überrascht, dieses mediterrane Juwel zu entdecken.

Unser absoluter Lieblingsgrieche in NBG 😍

Die individuell zusammengestellte Fleischplatte mit Hähnchenspießen, Lamm-/Schweinefleischspießen, Gyros und Hackbraten war einfach fantastisch. Der Hackbraten war der absolute Hammer. Alles war saftig und nichts war trocken. Wenn Sie hierher kommen, bestellen Sie unbedingt etwas mehr Tzatziki. Zum Nachtisch gab es ein kleines Stück Kuchen.

Wir wohnen knapp 300 km entfernt und kommen seit über 10 Jahren mit unserem kleinen und immer braven Hund regelmäßig und oft bei jedem Nürnberg-Aufenthalt ins Helena. Dort wurden wir immer namentlich und mit Handschlag begrüßt und wir genossen das Essen und die freundschaftliche Atmosphäre. Im Januar wollte eine gute Freundin von uns, die wir dort kennengelernt haben (im Restaurant namentlich bekannt), einen Tisch für sich und uns incl. Hund reservieren. Man sagte ihr nun aber, dass Hunde im Restaurant nicht mehr erlaubt wären – auch nicht einmal im Sommer im Garten. Das finden wir befremdlich und sehr schade. In einem deutlich kleineren und engeren italienischen Restaurant in der unmittelbaren Nachbarschaft des Helena ist unser Hund immer willkommen, auch wenn andere Hunde im Lokal anwesend sind. Und in diesem Restaurant sind wir weniger oft und auch weniger gut bekannt. Wir verstehen, dass unerzogene und ggf. sehr große Hunde in einem Restaurant problematisch sein können, aber dass wir nach über 10 Jahren und einem sehr persönlichen, freundschaftlichem Verhältnis so behandelt werden, ist sehr enttäuschend. Die sprichwörtliche griechische Gastfreundschaft ist anscheinend nicht mehr so ausgeprägt. Das Helena hat uns als Gäste leider verloren.

Tolle Gastleute mit sehr schmackhafter Küche.

Ein wunderbarer Familienbetrieb mit ehrlich zuvorkommendem und freundlichem Service. Man fühlt sich wie in einer Dorftaverne auf einer geiechischen Insel. Tolles Essen, super Athmosphäre. Immer wieder gerne.

Gyros kam mit einem „Klecks“ Tsatsiki, dass maximal für ein paar Pommes reicht. Wenn man Tsatsiki nachbestellt zahlt man 5 EUR (das sind 1/3 des gesamten Gyros-Gerichtes!). Fühlt sich nach versteckten Kosten und Kalkül an. Geschmacklich sowohl Fleisch als auch Tsatsiki leider 08/15.

Typisches, älteres, griechisches Lokal. Freundliches Personal. Was uns gut gefällt: es gibt auch viele Portionen zusätzlich in kleiner Größe. Damit kann man gut eine Vorspeise dazu nehmen. Das Essen schmeckt uns sehr gut zum fairen Preis. Wir kommen wieder.

Wir hatten in Berlin ein Lieblingsgriechenrestaurant, aber nach zwei Besuchen in Helena hat es unseren alten Favoriten komplett übertroffen, und wir sind absolut begeistert. Es ist einfach alles fantastisch. Beim ersten Mal war es sehr voll, und wir hatten nicht reserviert. Trotzdem bekamen wir einen Tisch für eine Stunde, wofür wir uns sehr gefreut haben. Die Bedienung war unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir bestellten ein Glas Rotwein, und wie es Tradition ist, wurde uns zur Begrüßung Ouzo aufs Haus serviert. Eine wirklich nette Geste. Als Vorspeise hatten wir Dolmadakia. Sie waren sehr lecker, obwohl wir persönlich die vegetarische Variante bevorzugen, da diese mit Hackfleisch gefüllt waren. Der Salat, der zu unserem Essen serviert wurde, war ebenfalls ausgezeichnet, besonders mit dem Sauerkraut. Er war überraschend lecker und sehr ausgewogen. Als Hauptgerichte wählten wir die Spezialplatte, die ein sehr zartes Filet, zwei unglaublich zarte und aromatische Lammkoteletts und einen perfekt gegrillten Schweinespieß enthielt. Alles war hervorragend zubereitet. Wir bestellten außerdem Lammkoteletts separat, und ich war wirklich begeistert. Sie waren saftig, zart und voller Geschmack. Bei unserem zweiten Besuch aßen wir gebackenen Feta mit Tomaten, Paprika und Olivenöl. Es war ehrlich gesagt der beste gebackene Feta, den wir je in einem griechischen Restaurant gegessen haben. Absolut hervorragend. Als Hauptgang bestellten wir den Helena-Teller für zwei Personen. Er enthielt zwei Souvlaki, zwei Lammkoteletts, Filet, Leber, Gyros, Reis, gemischten Salat und Tzatziki. Die Portion war sehr großzügig. Tatsächlich war es zu viel für uns, und wir ließen etwa ein Drittel übrig, weil wir pappsatt waren. Alles war von Anfang bis Ende exzellent. Zum Abschluss bekamen wir sogar ein kostenloses Dessert, das köstlich war und den perfekten Abschluss eines wunderbaren Essens bildete. Absolut empfehlenswert! Dieses Restaurant ist offiziell unser Lieblingslokal geworden. Wir lieben nicht nur das Essen, sondern schätzen auch die Herzlichkeit und Freundlichkeit des Personals sehr. Sie sind wirklich nett und zuvorkommend und machen das gesamte Erlebnis dadurch noch besonderer.

Ich kann keine großen Portionen essen, aber hier kann man kleine Portionen bestellen. Super. Dann kann ich auch noch andere Sachen bestellen.

Eine furchtbare Erfahrung. Ich kam am Samstag um 13:30 Uhr und wurde abgewiesen, weil die Küche geschlossen war. Das Personal war unhöflich und abweisend.

Super delicious food at very fair prices! The service was excellent, and I would come back anytime.

We went to Helena's for the first time yesterday. I had the grilled baby calamari. I've never eaten such good grilled calamari, although I rarely order anything else at a Greek restaurant. It was buttery soft, with good roasted flavors and olive oil with lemon, simply fantastic. My companion and I tried the gyro. I'm really critical of dogs, but for me, it was the best gyro I've ever eaten. On a quick note, I think it's a shame that the reviews are so bad because dogs are no longer allowed. Personally, I think the decision is right and good. There are still people who are either allergic or simply afraid of dogs, no matter how big or small they are.

For 22 years, we—with our respective small and well-behaved dogs—have been loyal guests at Helena. There were never any incidents, and we always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. During the pandemic, we regularly supported the restaurant by having food delivered, and we were expressed our gratitude. True, after the death of our grandmother, who had often invited us to Helena, we came less often because it was simply too painful for us, but we still enjoyed picking up food there. And then yesterday, the shock: We had reserved a table, and when we arrived with our small, toothless dog, who has been a familiar face at Helena for 12 years, we were asked to leave! That hit home! Helena, we won't see each other again!

Absolutely! The food was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive. The only drawback: the Lederer non-alcoholic beer wasn't very good; otherwise, we only had Tucher non-alcoholic beer. The grilled calamari was fantastic. The tarama and the oven-baked feta cheese were also fantastic. The baked sardines were also amazing. Two drinks, two starters, and two main courses totaled €57.80. Totally reasonable. We each got an ouzo and a small piece of coconut cake on the house.

I can't comment on the food or service this time, but the welcome upon entering the beer garden was abysmal. I need an assistance dog, but after just five meters, I was rudely informed that no more dogs were allowed. When I pointed out that it was a service dog and my wife was already sitting in the beer garden with the group (funeral, saying goodbye to a friend), I was told, "I can leave the dog outside on the street." Something I wouldn't do with this dog, and probably with any other, made me lose my appetite and was furious. I picked up my wife and left. In the past, it was never a problem; we always brought our dogs. So, a visit is no longer possible for me.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to try the food. We were rudely turned away with our little miniature schnauzer, and we weren't even allowed into the beer garden with our small dog. We used to go there often and were always quite satisfied, but now we'll never go back.

Very friendly service. Unfortunately, the food wasn't very impressive. It was underseasoned, much too hot, and even the tzatziki wasn't quite as acidic. The vegetables were too coarse, and even the tough parts were grated into the salad. It's a shame, because the staff were very friendly. The ouzo is strong.

We've been eating there for over 20 years. The food is very good and the staff is truly amazing! The prices are completely reasonable and the quality is excellent. We really enjoy going there.

5 stars – My favorite Greek restaurant in Nuremberg! I've been to the Helena restaurant in St. Johannis several times now - and have been thrilled every time. The food is consistently excellent, the service is warm and the atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed. You immediately feel welcome and like you are with friends. I would particularly like to highlight the stuffed calamari – tender, aromatic and perfectly prepared. Every detail on the plate shows how much love and skill goes into cooking here. The side dishes and wines are also excellently matched. Whether for a relaxed evening for two or a meal with friends - Helena has become my go-to address when I'm in the mood for authentic Greek cuisine. Unreserved recommendation!

We have been regular customers at Helene for years and it has never been a problem to bring our little 8kg Havanese with us. He is extremely well behaved and lies under the table and doesn't make a sound. This time we were treated like lepers. We stated on the phone that we had our dog with us, but we were very reluctant to get a table. When we arrived the "waiter" told us our dog was borderline...aha. Whatever he meant... Since Helena has recently become so dog-unfriendly, we won't be going there anymore. 3 points because the food was very good, but the side salad shrank extremely, as did the saganaki and the seafood salad. A good 1/3 was left out. Very unfortunate. Of course I can understand that there are certainly dogs that are annoying and yapping and aren't as well-behaved as ours, but then you have to say that dogs are no longer allowed. But not from above that our dog is borderline. There are enough other Greeks in Nuremberg.

First of all, we didn't even get the chance to try the food, but we only heard positive things about the quality of the dishes on offer, hence 4 stars. We were there on Sunday at 5 p.m. and had politely asked for a table for 4 people. We were made to understand in an extremely unfriendly and shameless manner how stupid you can be to show up here without a reservation... we were "asked" to leave the restaurant both verbally and with a corresponding gesture. Personally, I'm very happy that some innkeepers have now returned to the "old" mentality after complaining during Corona...great... I will NOT recommend this restaurant under ANY circumstances! Drive a few blocks further, there are also very, very tasty and, above all, FRIENDLY Greek restaurants where you are valued as a guest. Service: very bad! Ambiance: getting old!

5 stars are actually not enough for this great family restaurant and this great service. In short, it was simply amazing. Now the explanation why: We were able to make a reservation for the same evening by phone without any problem. We were immediately welcomed in a friendly manner and welcomed with an ouzo, so we immediately felt at home. It was a very friendly and relaxed interaction - as it should be. Like you're having dinner with your family. The food was really first class. Special requests were no problem. While others are upset about it, it wasn't worth mentioning here. That doesn't actually exist anymore. Special requests are easily made possible here. Thank you for that. The calamari are incredibly delicious. I would love to take her home with me. You can simply taste that everything here is made in-house and it's not just any finished product. There's a lot of love here. You can see this in the service and in the many small loving gestures. A family business through and through. So if you're ever visiting Nuremberg, like us, we can only warmly recommend a visit here (you should, of course, make a reservation). We thank you for the wonderful evening and the great exchange. The Swabians wish you good luck for the future. If we ever come to Nuremberg again, it will definitely be because we want to eat with you again.

The furnishings are a bit old, but everything seems very well maintained. We really enjoyed the food and were very happy with the service.

This is kind of a interesting spot one of my colleagues who’s actually Greek told me about it. The food was kind of Greek, but not really in some regards it’s hard to really explain. However, it was nice to have a salad and grilled chicken. it was healthy and prepared well. They have some great beers on tap too Overall a good spot I would go back to.
