For me personally, Haus Zeyen is a feel-good bar. Friendly and courteous staff with delicious home-style food. The price is absolutely in line with other restaurants in the area. Clean toilets and a rustic atmosphere that takes you back to your youth. Not a hip trendy pub, but very cozy and with the charm of an old Veedels pub. For me personally one of the best bars in Cologne. I look forward to the next visit. Others can learn a lesson from this. 👍

Great typical Cologne pub with delicious Kölsch (Sion). We had a delicious meal with 6 people. The portions are very generous and definitely fill you up... I had the spit roast with fried potatoes and salad for EUR 12.90. The other dishes were also great value for money. The service was very friendly and quick... Again any time.

Es ist ein großes Erlebnis in dieser urkölschen Kneipe und im Restaurant zu essen. Der Wirsing ist absolut spitze. Besonders toll ist der Kellner, immer für einen Witz gut. Uns hat es riesig Spaß gemacht.

A lovely old corner pub with very tasty and affordable food. The fact that Haus Zeyen only opens at 5:00 p.m. and is already full at 5:15 p.m. speaks for itself. The employees are friendly and prompt. It's a shame that the restaurant is so far away from me, otherwise I would like to be a guest there more often.

Super leckerer Spießbraten mit ein paar leckeren Kölsch und der Abend war gerettet. Hätte gerne noch einen warmen Apfelstrudel gegessen, der war jedoch leider schon aus… Aber der Kellner war super drauf und sehr nett. Kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Stumbled there by chance while looking for a rump steak. Highly Recommended! Was alone there, but didn't feel that way. Everyone was very nice and attentive. Great, rustic atmosphere, something you don't find that often anymore. You can simply immerse yourself in the Cologne way of life there. Authentic and rare Absolutely top value for money. I didn't drink any Kölsch, but the wine was also very good. Noise level is high, but you can stay silent elsewhere :) Definitely recommended! It's better to order in advance as it's not very big. I was lucky to get a place.

Quaint pub, with friendly, funny service! While you wait for your table you get Kölsch. The place was full to the ceiling that day. We waited over 2 hours for a free table, but it didn't bother us because we always had enough beer :D The food was very, very tasty, hearty and lots of it!! Price/performance is great! Unfortunately I forgot to take decent photos.

Rustic Veedels Brauhaus, which specializes in steaks (but everything else is also top)

A very old, rustic and yet charming inn. Even if it looks like "just a pub" inside, that's deceptive. It has a menu that's impressive and not expensive. The staff is great and the good old Kölsche Schnüss is the order of the day here. Great, keep it up, I love it and the five of us had fun at the table. What you should note here is that there are also schnitzels without breading (natural). Unfortunately, a friend had to discover this in the end. We were all surprised and didn't know it before. An experience that has now had a positive impact on us. Despite our mistake, our friend got a drink on the house. As long as we're in the area again, I think we'll come back. PS: If you need a table on the weekend, you should check in advance whether there is still space and reserve your table.

We were so impressed with the food, the atmosphere, and the service. We didn't have reservations, but they were able to accommodate us at the bar. The bartender recommended the Jägerschnitzel, which my wife ordered, and I tried the Filetkotlet (I think that's what it was called). Both were amazing. The portions were large (like American sized) and just sooo good. It is definitely a local pub filled with people who live here. So, if you are looking for a fantastic, authentic German experience, you have to go to Haus Zayan.

Very good food, but huge portions. Very friendly staff. But it can also be very loud. Then it becomes difficult to converse.

Vegan dishes? - please be honest. Hmmm, what can I say. After I took a photo of the sign in the restaurant that said "Ask about our vegan dishes!" As proof, I was able to convince my children (both vegetarians) to come along. Big disappointment on site. The “vegan dishes” (note the plural!) would then be vegan fish fingers (singular!)... The children then decided on fried potatoes with a fried egg without bacon cubes, the only vegetarian, but not vegan, alternative. It's a shame that there isn't even a meat-free salad or anything like that. I would have at least expected that the kitchen would have a vegan schnitzel or patti in the chest. Since I certainly won't be able to convince my children to visit again anytime soon, we probably won't be able to resist each other any time soon. It's a shame, because it's actually quite nice where you are.

Was ein toller Laden! Wir sind zufällig dort gelandet weil die andere sehr bekannte Gaststätte um die Ecke geschlossen war. Das Essen war super lecker und der Service wirklich mega auf Zack. Das war nicht das letzte Mal, dass wir dort eingekehrt sind. Wir kommen wieder!!!!

We were there last night for the first time and certainly not the last time. A restaurant where everything is just right doesn't happen that often. A table was booked and the waitress provided us with drinks and food throughout the evening. Attention and friendliness were very pleasant. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Wir haben hier am Freitag, 1.3.24 mit 4 Personen gegessen. Alle waren sehr zufrieden. Richtig gute gutbürgerliche Küche mit sehr gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für Köln. Ich hatte Paprika-Schnitzel mit Pommes und Salat. Schnitzel frisch gebraten, Soße einfach nur lecker, Salat ebenso. Portionen waren recht groß. Kellner sehr nett, aufmerksam und schnell. Das Kölsch auch etwas billiger als in den Touri-Restaurants in der Innenstadt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, wenn wir in Köln sind.

We finally managed to reserve a table and were eating at Haus Zeyen last Friday evening. Quaint corner pub, few tables. It wasn't that busy yet at 5:30 p.m., but all the tables were reserved and they gradually filled up. The innkeeper came to us immediately and gave us drinks. When I was undecided about the choice of food, he was there to help in his super friendly and personable way and made recommendations. We chose suckling pig fillet with savoy cabbage with mashed potatoes and the farmer's schnitzel with fried potatoes. The food takes time, but is absolutely excellent. Everything is freshly made, to the point and very tasty! The drink replenishment service at Kölsch also works perfectly. When we left later, all the tables and counters were occupied. Overall, a clear recommendation for friends of good brewery cuisine. Absolutely no comparison to the mainstream houses around the corner at the train station or in the old town. Here we still cook with passion and take care of our guests.

Actually 4.5 stars, but you can't adjust it. Apparently a family run pub. Absolutely recommended, super great food at more than fair prices, even the Sion Kölsch on tap tastes really delicious here. But definitely make a reservation because it's so good 👍, it's actually always full, or you'll have to wait a long time.

Very nice restaurant with a rustic atmosphere near the Deutz train station. Extremely friendly and personable employees who are always up for a laugh. The food was also completely convincing (we had pork chops and cordon bleu) and at an absolutely fair price. We will be back definitely!

Schöne Familien geführte Gastronomie. (Mittlerweile Mitarbeiter geführt). Essen ist sehr gut bürgerlich mit moderaten Preisen. Das Kölsch ist frisch, und wie so oft direkt vom Fass ohne Kohlensäure und Umschweife in die Stange. Großes Plus ist, das dort geschockt*wird. ( *Würfelspiel wo der Verlierer mit Schande leben muss, und die nächste Runde bestellt. )

Einfach besonders, eine richtige Veedelskneipe mit leckerem bürgerlichem Essen.

Diese Gaststätte ist auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung. Wenn man die Tür öffnet, betritt man einen Gastraum, welcher vom Inventar an die typische Eckkneipe von früher erinnert. Für die einen mag das aus der Zeit gefallen sein, für mich macht es den Charme dieses Geheimtipps in der Nähe des Bahnhofs Messe/Deutz aus. Die Preise sind sowohl für Getränke wie auch für Speisen absolut angemessen, die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und unaufdringlich. Ich kann nur empfehlen, die Frikadellen und Bratkartoffeln zu kosten, diese Klassiker sind sehr schmackhaft und frisch zubereitet! Man sieht sich gerne wieder!

Katastrophales Essen Leberkäse wie Schuhsohlen. . . Schweinebraten mit Wirsing Fleisch war zäh und die Bratkartoffel waren eine mittlere Katastrophe. Nicht zu empfehlen!!!!

Zeer lekker eten. Bediening was wat minder (mss had de ober een slechte dag). We zaten naast een grote groep, waardoor er veel lawaai was. Eten was voortreffelijk. Zowel de schnitzel als de steak. Pintjes blijven ze constant aanbrengen.

Würde allerdings empfehlen vor dem Besuch einen Tisch zu reservieren. 😉
