Quaint restaurant in the heart of Cologne/Deutz. Sion Kölsch on tap, schnitzel in many variations but also hearty things like savoy cabbage with bratwurst. Köbes was always attentive. As a fan of SV Deutz 05 we will be back!

A charming and authentic pub for anyone who wants to experience local Cologne vibes. Recommending the Schnitzel, available with different sides and sauces. It was very tasty with generous portions, great value for the price. Sion Kölsch (beer) is recommended to drink and offered on tap. The place was full with locals, but the staff moved around and made room for us. Very service-minded and helpful staff. If you are in Cologne and want a genuine local experience, this is the restaurant to visit.

You really feel comfortable there and almost everyone who lives in the area knows Haus Zeyen. The food is very tasty and the meat is also very tasty. If you're going out to eat with the family, Haus Zeyen is a good choice. It's just very loud there at peak times. The staff are all very nice and funny too.

Cologne corner pub without chic and tourist kitsch

We were looking for a place to eat at short notice. Although there was no space at the moment, we were initially served with Kölsch until a reservation expired so that we could eat there. The portion is huge. Service super friendly. All in all, highly recommended.

Real Cologne (Sion) pub, with delicious Süffele & delicious Müffele. The Köbese are on their toes and always very nice! The ambience is just like it should be in a Cologne pub! Always very busy on weekends and not empty during the week, it's best to reserve a table...

I got the 'farmhouse schnitzel' and whole meal was delicious and huge portions (2 pieces of schnitzel hidden under there!) The pictures do it no justice. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Friendly to tourists (as I read on reviews some places aren't). Traditional and old style brew house and great atmosphere. Cash only (as most restaurants are here and in Berlin now from experience).

I haven't been to such a quaint, original Veedels pub in Cologne for a long time. The big but extremely important difference to other pubs is the excellent cuisine. The service staff were top. We were given very good advice regarding the food and were never left out to dry. A tip to the owner. A person behind the counter who is constantly tapping would take the pressure off the duo. I enjoyed plenty of Kölsch, and thanks to the bartender’s recommendation, I discovered Lagerkorn from Sasse, which paired perfectly with the beer. The food was amazing—very tasty, hearty portions, and great value for the price. The service was top-notch and fun, and I even got a bottle of Sasse to take home. The decor, with old photos and clocks on the walls, really adds to the authentic feel. If you’re in Cologne and want a genuine local experience, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

Typical Kōlsche Veedels restaurant with a small menu (Fooderkat) for the international and local audience. Upscale brewery cuisine with vegetarian options. Attentive, friendly service with delicious Kōlsch and usual drinks. A restaurant also for small appetites right at the counter and cozy places to linger with outdoor catering. Prices within the usual framework of a big city. We immediately felt comfortable. Definitely a recommendation.

For me personally, Haus Zeyen is a feel-good bar. Friendly and courteous staff with delicious home-style food. The price is absolutely in line with other restaurants in the area. Clean toilets and a rustic atmosphere that takes you back to your youth. Not a hip trendy pub, but very cozy and with the charm of an old Veedels pub. For me personally one of the best bars in Cologne. I look forward to the next visit. Others can learn a lesson from this. 👍

Great typical Cologne pub with delicious Kölsch (Sion). We had a delicious meal with 6 people. The portions are very generous and definitely fill you up... I had the spit roast with fried potatoes and salad for EUR 12.90. The other dishes were also great value for money. The service was very friendly and quick... Again any time.

A lovely old corner pub with very tasty and affordable food. The fact that Haus Zeyen only opens at 5:00 p.m. and is already full at 5:15 p.m. speaks for itself. The employees are friendly and prompt. It's a shame that the restaurant is so far away from me, otherwise I would like to be a guest there more often.

Stumbled there by chance while looking for a rump steak. Highly Recommended! Was alone there, but didn't feel that way. Everyone was very nice and attentive. Great, rustic atmosphere, something you don't find that often anymore. You can simply immerse yourself in the Cologne way of life there. Authentic and rare Absolutely top value for money. I didn't drink any Kölsch, but the wine was also very good. Noise level is high, but you can stay silent elsewhere :) Definitely recommended! It's better to order in advance as it's not very big. I was lucky to get a place.

Quaint pub, with friendly, funny service! While you wait for your table you get Kölsch. The place was full to the ceiling that day. We waited over 2 hours for a free table, but it didn't bother us because we always had enough beer :D The food was very, very tasty, hearty and lots of it!! Price/performance is great! Rustic Veedels Brauhaus, which specializes in steaks (but everything else is also top)

A very old, rustic and yet charming inn. Even if it looks like "just a pub" inside, that's deceptive. It has a menu that's impressive and not expensive. The staff is great and the good old Kölsche Schnüss is the order of the day here. Great, keep it up, I love it and the five of us had fun at the table. What you should note here is that there are also schnitzels without breading (natural). Unfortunately, a friend had to discover this in the end. We were all surprised and didn't know it before. An experience that has now had a positive impact on us. Despite our mistake, our friend got a drink on the house. As long as we're in the area again, I think we'll come back. PS: If you need a table on the weekend, you should check in advance whether there is still space and reserve your table.

We were so impressed with the food, the atmosphere, and the service. We didn't have reservations, but they were able to accommodate us at the bar. The bartender recommended the Jägerschnitzel, which my wife ordered, and I tried the Filetkotlet (I think that's what it was called). Both were amazing. The portions were large (like American sized) and just sooo good. It is definitely a local pub filled with people who live here. So, if you are looking for a fantastic, authentic German experience, you have to go to Haus Zayan.

Vegan dishes? - please be honest. Hmmm, what can I say. After I took a photo of the sign in the restaurant that said "Ask about our vegan dishes!" As proof, I was able to convince my children (both vegetarians) to come along. Big disappointment on site. The “vegan dishes” (note the plural!) would then be vegan fish fingers (singular!)... The children then decided on fried potatoes with a fried egg without bacon cubes, the only vegetarian, but not vegan, alternative. It's a shame that there isn't even a meat-free salad or anything like that. I would have at least expected that the kitchen would have a vegan schnitzel or patti in the chest. Since I certainly won't be able to convince my children to visit again anytime soon, we probably won't be able to resist each other any time soon. It's a shame, because it's actually quite nice where you are.

Was ein toller Laden! Wir sind zufällig dort gelandet weil die andere sehr bekannte Gaststätte um die Ecke geschlossen war. Das Essen war super lecker und der Service wirklich mega auf Zack. Das war nicht das letzte Mal, dass wir dort eingekehrt sind. Wir kommen wieder!!!!
