Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing visit. We had reserved a table on Mother's Day evening. Since my mother is gluten intolerant, it was a great idea because they advertised gluten-free burgers. To be on the safe side, I also wrote this in the online reservation, which was confirmed shortly afterwards by email. When we drove to Ulm that evening, we were told when we ordered that they hadn't had any gluten-free rolls for two weeks (so nothing that had been spontaneously sold out). That was very disappointing, not only because it ruined Mother's Day in a way, but also because the gluten-free rolls were still being actively advertised with a display. When you specifically write it in the reservation request and then someone with celiac disease is advised to simply have a roll with gluten as an alternative, that is just completely unprofessional.

We like to come to Hans im Glück when we are in Ulm. The quality is right.

At lunchtime it's 12:30 p.m. in the store, nothing is going on, three employees are standing around and they see me sitting there for ages. We have to wait until the fourth person comes to take the order, they say 🤣🤣 okay, thanks, then I'll go eat somewhere else.

As always there (and also in other cities) we recommend it without reservation for fans of the cultivated Hamburg culture.

Delivery via Lieferando: We ordered this evening. Instead of 36 minutes, we had to wait almost 2 hours. Not even half the order arrived and the rest of the food was cold. If there is too much going on, deliveries stop. This was the second experience of this kind. Not again...

The food was delicious as usual, but I found the prices to be too high compared to often better quality restaurants with the same price. In my opinion, the cocktails on offer only partially have something to do with cocktails. For example, a cocktail that was ordered consisted of a drink already filled in a glass, which was completed by pouring one's own ginger ale at the table. I found the service on the evening of the visit to be poor. I attribute this to the fact that the food and drink menu was brought out for the first time after 35 minutes and that the staff never had an eye on the table, which meant that you had to wait a long time for the food order, further drink orders or the request for the bill.

Very disappointing! We ordered via Lieferando. First of all we had to wait 2 hours for the food (the delivery time was getting later and later) until it finally arrived lukewarm (after I called). Unfortunately the burger didn't taste as usual. (The meat was watery and not completely cooked through). Furthermore, the orange mustard sauce that I paid for was missing. No response from Hans im Glück to my email...

Top restaurant for burgers. The portions were also completely sufficient with side dishes. We also had a voucher block with us. Simply let us know when ordering. All in all a recommendation.

We drove an extra 60km because of the voucher book, which we couldn't use because we didn't say so straight away and we've never had any problems. Food was OK but very little for the money. Smash Burger wasn't really a Smash Burger. Just thin meat patties. Service was slow and sometimes people were left sitting for 30 minutes while eating with empty drinks. Had reserved a table, everything was very narrow and incredibly uncomfortable wooden trunks without cushions.

Unfortunately I have to say, nothing special these days. Very average food - everyone had burgers (6 people). However, there is also little space in the city center, which is quite normal there.

We like it here. The new menu still has great vegan options (better than before), the drinks are delicious and unusual as well as the atmosphere. Mehhh. Walked in and was told to choose our table, walked to the back, and sat down in an area already closed for service... we moved to another section and waited. We walked in at 9:00 pm. on a saturday and tried to order smash burgers, but we're told they had no more meat for them. I ordered a regular cheese burger instead and avacado fries. Burger was overcooked, and the flavor was odd and didn't taste like beef but had strong flavoring of other spices. Fries were loaded with dill and washed out any other flavors. I would say that you are mainly paying for ambiance and location and not so much for burgers here. Music was loud and repetitive, I felt like I was in a dance club instead of a restaurant, we had difficulty carrying on a conversation because of the noise. Price was fair. My wife and I paid around $45 for two burgers and fries and one water. To be honest, the entire experience was rather forgetful. The staff was nice but sadly the food was below average.

Very nice staff, fast service. Perfect for the gesture with a wheelchair. Employees immediately recommended a table for us. Toilet for the disabled is on the same level. For the other guests you have to go downstairs but it is also very clean!

Unfortunately we got a very small table at the door for 3 people. Because we didn't have a reservation. It was very windy that day and you don't want to sit there. We actually liked going to Hans in Glück. Unfortunately, that has changed over time. The food is constantly changing (e.g. the types of fries or the bread is changed regularly) so you don't always get what you are used to. Sometimes better, sometimes worse. If the food was good, you would accept the service, but the waiters are all very disinterested in their customers. When you're ready and want to pay, you should allow an hour, because despite remembering that you would like to pay, you had to wait over 20 minutes. It's a shame because the atmosphere is actually nice.

The burger was pretty cold, and the meat was way too compact, lacking both juiciness and flavor. The fries were dry, and the homemade lemonade was overly sweet. On the bright side, the presentation was lovely, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. I just wish they’d focus more on the most important part: the food.

Misfortune in Hans!!! Were here on May 4th, 2024 with an online reservation on Jackson at 8:30 p.m. What's going on with you? There wasn't much going on and we weren't given a card for 30 minutes. Staff stood behind the counter and laughed. It was better to set new tables instead of taking an order from us or bringing a card. I have never experienced this in a single restaurant I have visited. The Hans im Glück has a very pleasant atmosphere - but the restaurant is quite crowded and the seats are a bit tight. But it was still quite comfortable. The smash burger was good, but it still lacked some of the grill flavor. The fries were fresh and there were also sweet potato fries with homemade dips (available on the table). However, the presentation of the food was a bit sparse - see pictures. In general, the non-alcoholic drinks should be highlighted. It was also great to be able to access your bill using a QR code and then pay it directly using Apple Pay. Here you also had the opportunity to place further orders - very innovative. On our next visit to Ulm I can imagine stopping by Hans im Glück again.

The burger was quite good, nothing to say triple smash, I recommend it, the fries were cold and my girl's were a little better but by no means at an acceptable temperature. The Cocktails for almost €11 should deliver something better, I don't recommend them. Regarding the service The place was 85% empty and the guy I saw two 3 times when he brought the order when he brought the order, when he removed the dishes. So you can't ask for hot sauce, order another beer, or ask for portions of fries.

We are actually a big fan of Hans im Lucky… however the children's portion is more than ridiculous for this price! Our children actually always eat a normal portion and are then full, but this portion didn't work at all! Counted fries!

It worked out so far, service was on point, seat allocation went smoothly. At times when I was eating it was a bit...well. That was the case, for example. The hot chocolate was a bit small for the price and there were still powder residues on the bottom of the glass... but we were still satisfied overall.

It is a restaurant mainly serving burgers. It is warm, cozy, decorated all in wood like a forest house. It's lovely. The burgers we ordered were good. They have a variety of drinks. They also have their own sauces that are good. The service was a little slow, considering it wasn't that busy. An observation regarding the service: some tables have seats shared between 2 tables, in which one has his back to another person from another table. Those seats are not very big. In our case, they offered us to sit at a table that had one of these seats and there was already a person sitting at the other table. The space left was small. We discreetly asked to move tables because it looked uncomfortable. But to our surprise they told us that that position was the assigned place and they could not change us. There were many unoccupied tables. Despite this, we made the decision to stay. And yes, it was not pleasant to sit in that shared seat 🙄

Update: We kept our word and gave them a second chance. This time we were there during the week and it wasn't busy. Maybe because there wasn't much going on, the food was better, fresher and hotter. Only the service could perhaps have come more often because of the drinks. Otherwise, the current offer, a double smash burger, was absolutely brilliant - it MUST be included in the program 😍 I increased the star for the food, but I left the ambience and service at two stars. Overall recommended with a tendency towards 4 stars and more. —————————- It was our first attempt at this chain and we got a lot of recommendations (but these came from other cities, so I can only give the rating for Ulm). The reservation and seat allocation went quite well, something like that doesn't always work. The selection, ordering and delivery of food and drinks was surprisingly quick! Regarding my dish, there were three of us there, I can only say that it was nothing more than okay - my burger was only lukewarm, the pattie was a bit dry and the hash browns in the burger tasted “old”. My colleagues complained about cocktails because there seemed to be ZERO alcohol in them - after improvements, they were passable. After dinner, we had to get our train, we needed four announcements that we could finally pay in order to leave the restaurant (in the end we were a little more energetic about our desire to pay). The ambience was also ok, although many of the tables next to us were free but not tidied up. We will give the restaurant a second chance in January 2025 when we are back on site. According to our current assessment, we only give an average of three stars (which is not wrong in principle). However, I can't give a clear recommendation from the overall rating at the moment and I expected more. See you in January and then I'll give my final resume

Today we were at Hans im Glück for the first time. The food was absolutely delicious, it's great that there is also a children's menu for kids, our 5 year old son was very happy about it. Price/performance is definitely right here. The only drawback is that the table next to the entrance on the left side of the window pulls a lot when the door opens and closes. The back wall is therefore also very cold when sitting. The stools/benches aren't that comfortable, there's just not something to lean on. The seating is also pretty tight and you don't really have any privacy, which is something you have to like. The women's toilets could be a little cleaner. Our waitress was very friendly and on the ball, she even suggested that a menu that we had put together would be more worthwhile and would be cheaper. We were with the Schlemmerblock there and were able to save 2 for 1 (main courses). The burgers, fries and the house sauces that were served on the table were particularly tasty. The refreshing drink was absolutely delicious (dragon fruit/guava/lime). Really recommended and we'll be back, but next time in a cozy place :-)!

We spontaneously decided to go to a restaurant to eat a burger. We found a place without a reservation without any problem. The selection of burgers is large, but we found them a bit dry overall. This is also because the ingredients are saved. We ordered a cheeseburger with bacon, which was only topped with a strip of bacon - a bit too little for the size of the burger. In addition, sitting on the hard benches in the restaurant for long periods of time is rather uncomfortable. Otherwise the ambience with the incorporated birch trees is very nice.

My biggest problem was the waiters. They are inaccurate, careless and do not show due respect. Older people are also buried. When we ordered they forgot to bring it out but played on the phone. They were completely flippant and disrespectful. The standard drops dramatically when the new generation receives such education.

Unfortunately my visit this time was very disappointing. The burger was dry and carelessly prepared, the meat tasted bland and there was hardly any sauce. There was also extremely slow service - for fast food that was really disappointing. Given the prices, I would have expected at least the usual McDonald's quality, but unfortunately that wasn't the case here. It's a shame, I was hoping for a lot more.

Today I wanted to enjoy a burger at this establishment with a good friend! However, the incompetent, unprofessional service specialist told me that they would not accept any more tables! There were enough tables available, but the staff didn't make any effort to serve them! Instead of explaining the situation to all the customers, the service person only told the first group what was going on and told everyone else "You heard it too, right" AN OUTRAGE! SUCH AN INSTITUTION SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED! MY WASHING MACHINE DON'T WORK AND I CAN'T EVEN EAT A BURGER!

I visited this restaurant for the first time today with my wife but didn't know this was a chain. The selection of dishes is very extensive, and there are also plenty of options for non-meat eaters, even vegan dishes. The dishes are very tasty. You should definitely try the homemade lemonades. I think it's very good that there is a selection of sauces available on every table. This is also more environmentally friendly than individual bags. The young service team is very friendly and very attentive. The restaurant has a cool look. The toilets are very clean and also stylish. I can recommend this restaurant in Ulm and will shortlist this again on my next visit to Ulm. I would have liked to have my cheesecake with my cappuccino, but this was not possible due to the kitchen being busy. Nevertheless, I stick with my five stars. The prices are acceptable.

We were there for the second and last time. Unfortunately the service was very bad both times. The waitresses laughed, were on their cell phones and had fun, but probably had little desire to serve. We didn't get any cutlery or napkins, the tables weren't cleared and you couldn't order or pay without asking several times. Food is ok and not that expensive. Unfortunately the quality varies greatly. Sometimes the burger is bone dry or the fries are still raw inside. But the service is subpar. I've been there a few times now and the staff changes all the time. The staff also feels very inexperienced and slow, even though there isn't much going on. We usually go in the afternoon and there is never a lot going on. You often have to call the staff. For example, the table next door didn't leave a tip at all. I gave her 4€ because I felt really sorry for her, but the service itself wasn't worth a tip.

We stopped in for a bite right after our visit to the Ulm Cathedral without any reservations. Both the servers speak good English and were very professional. The interiors of the place is wonderful. They have reasonable deals for both lunch and dinner( which I thought was great and is highly recommended). We were pleased with the service and food and definitely recommend this place.

Was in Ulm for the first time at the HIG. But I've already been to several HIGs in Germany! So far I've always been really excited and really enjoy going to HIG! Unfortunately this time the visit to Ulm was not so positive! The lady in service today was totally overwhelmed and the waiting time was very long! In addition, the fries weren't really warm and unfortunately the burgers weren't really warm either! I'm absolutely not used to that at other places! I don't know if I'll go to the HIG in Ulm again! Attention does not deliver! Order on November 17th Didn't leave the restaurant in the evening and hasn't been refunded to this day. Ordered via website (Uber) and only found out after 3 phone calls to the shift manager that UBER wasn't delivering. Food OK but (also afterwards) catastrophic, unprofessional treatment of customers…

We had a great time at Hans im Glück in Ulm. The restaurant offers delicious burgers and has a pleasant atmosphere. The decor is attractive and the staff was friendly and attentive. We will come back in any case. We recommend!

The hamburgers are now at McD level... Ok but nothing special anymore. The golden fries were also more like brown fries. Everything is ok but quite expensive. The service was disastrous. A person at the counter who was 50% looking at their cell phone. 3 people standing in the kitchen talking loudly. (Still on the way to the toilet and back). 2 people served and one of them could only collect and was correspondingly stressed in contrast to the rest. We then had to wait 20 minutes until we could finally pay. We were there with Schlemmerblock and here the main course is just a single hamburger and no menu. But the menus are also so inflexible that they are of no interest to us. 5 years ago Hans im Glück was the new cool store and anyone who thought it was great 5 years ago will notice that it is exactly the same as it was 5 years ago.
