Double smash was so-so - a bit dry and very salty. It may be a slander, but McDonald's tastes much better. The fries were dry and not warm, but the garlic sauce and cheese were very tasty. The place is located in a great place - high, atmospheric vaults make a nice impression. Although it feels like a place targeted at customers aged 15-20. Tight seats - tables are screwed to the floor and the distances from the benches are cruelly small. The placemats on the tables were dirty - trying to replace them from neighboring tables was pointless - everything was consistently messy with the soaked remains of fatty sauces. We dropped in wanting to try the hamburger from the place where it was made, but I think we had too high expectations and too naive assumptions that it was enough to go to a place where there were a lot of people. I don't recommend it.

Restaurant that can't do food. Waited 45 minutes for three drinks and over an hour more for the burgers. Anyone who is so incompetent should close the shop. Even if the food was free I wouldn't give myself that again...

The food took almost 2 hours to arrive. Even drinks came after 40 minutes. The amount of people wasn’t even that much and idk what took so long to make 2 burgers ready. Coming at 19:00 and having dinner at 21:00 was extremely disappointing and unexpected.

Unfortunately, our visit was a big disappointment. Although there were still many free tables available in the restaurant, we were seated at the bar. When we politely asked if we could sit at one of the free tables, we were refused without any real explanation. What was particularly incomprehensible was that these tables remained empty throughout our stay and did not appear to be reserved for other guests. After we were seated, we had to wait over an hour for our food - despite the fact that the restaurant overall was not very busy. During this time neither cutlery nor napkins were brought to us. In addition, there were dirty glasses on our table from the guests in front of us, which had not been cleared away during our entire visit. The overall impression was very careless and inattentive. After about an hour we politely asked for our food and then had to separately ask for cutlery as none had been provided. But that wasn't enough: When we were finally able to eat, a waitress simply came by while we were still eating and took away the cutlery we had just used - in the middle of the meal, without comment. We were stunned by this behavior and didn't feel welcome or taken seriously. Overall, the service was chaotic, disinterested and in no way appropriate to the standards of a restaurant. Our visit was a complete disappointment - unfortunately we cannot recommend this restaurant at all.

Unfortunately very disappointing – never again! I went to this restaurant today with a friend and we were treated very rudely and disrespectfully. When we politely asked for a table for two, we were shown a place. We wanted to briefly see if there were quieter places at the back - the employee then reacted extremely unfriendly. Although the food was tasty, the entire experience was completely spoiled by the behavior of the staff. Our hot drinks, which we had ordered to drink on site, were handed to us in take-away cups - without asking. When we pointed out that we wanted to drink them here, we were told never to come back and even said things like “there is poison in the drinks”. Absolutely unacceptable! Such disrespectful and discriminatory behavior has no place in the catering industry. It's a shame - we were looking forward to a nice visit.

Strange, I rated it 5 minutes ago. Although it is part of a chain, this branch stands out for its particularly nice service. Note that Hamburg's city center is generally dead in the evenings, so you can only get something to eat here if you order in time.

Not only tasty but also copious in terms of portions. You won't leave here hungry. Pluses: you select from the basic menu but can then choose from many options. This way you can really make your own burger or salad

I was looking for a burger and found this restaurant. It happens to be not far from the city hall. You can’t tell it’s a burger on the left side of the photo. His bread was replaced by vegetables. Very tasty. The meat has a very meaty taste and you will know it after you eat it. In addition, the shop assistant is very pretty

We are looking for a place to try a Hamburger. Unfortunately I don't recommend this one because the meat was extremely fatty and overcooked which made for a strange mixture. It's really nothing special honestly. The only acceptable things are the cocktails which are cold but a little too sweet for my taste and the fries. As a tourist, go your own way.

Extremely friendly, even though we didn't have a reservation.

It wasn't busy, but we still waited almost 10 minutes for someone to be responsible for waiting guests. So we went and looked for someone. Then they found what they were looking for. The service person first had to finish a conversation. Instead of apologizing, we were told to wait at the sign next time so we wouldn't be standing around in the aisle. As if we were in someone's way... the only person on site that we could have stood in the way didn't move, so an unnecessary comment. So be it. We then had an incredibly rude conversation, but still sat down and ate our burger. The burger was even warm - that doesn't happen often. Maybe it was because we didn't have any side dishes. The restaurant is decorated very nicely. And the building is chic. Otherwise, in my opinion, the store is not worth the money. 2/2 disappointments. There won't be a third chance.

The service and food were really great, but unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our food and for me personally the music was much too loud, the tables were too small and too close together and unfortunately you sat uncomfortably on benches instead of chairs. Quite expensive for the atmosphere of a fast food chain. It doesn't really feel like a classic restaurant.

I was here on Friday afternoon shortly after it opened. Very empty so the super friendly wait staff took care of me very quickly. Super tasty.

Burgers tasted quite good, but the chicken looked a bit strange (thawed quickly?)... Unfortunately there was no juice or wine spritzer due to the lack of carbon dioxide.... A little more attention to detail would be nice. But overall quite ok.

The ambience is simply unique, the restaurant is located in an old building, which gives a warm but also modern look. The restaurant offers hamburgers, you can also find vegan and vegetarian options. The food is ok, “Hans im Glück” hamburger was tasty. Bread was soft and the sauce didn't dominate the flavor. Overall, the price-performance ratio is ok, €11.50 for a medium sized hamburger is ok, but not filling. The food is a total of 3⭐️ but the ambience does the rest!

In short, if you want to eat cold hamburgers... this is the place. Not to mention returning the order and scolding it. It may not be a common situation, but this is my experience. The fix felt relatively good, but I was too hungry to get up and leave without eating everything. Long story short, never again. As a footnote: The atmosphere, fries and cocktails are good But in Hamburg, it's about Hamburgers

We ate here today when it was 18.1 degrees. Service was on site. Windows were very leaky but we were able to move around. Food was delicious.

As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a unique atmosphere. The restaurant is housed in an old vault that is part of a historic town hall - an ambience that you don't often find. The birch trees that are installed in the restaurant are particularly impressive and give the modern, stylish design a natural and warm touch. We decided to go on a little culinary journey and tried three different types of börek and three types of fries. Every dish was excellent: freshly prepared, beautifully balanced in taste and attractively served. You can tell that a lot of love and care goes into the work here. I would particularly like to highlight the service. We were served incredibly friendly, attentive and quickly - exactly as you would expect. The entire team has created a very welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable. In summary, I can say that "Hans im Glück" not only impresses with its excellent cuisine, but also with its great ambience and great service. Whether for a cozy meal with friends or a special occasion – this restaurant is highly recommended. I'll definitely be back! Thank you for this wonderful experience!

A very great Hans Im Glück restaurant. Super fast and friendly service. The food was fresh and delicious! I can only recommend it and would be happy to come back.

Very very unfriendly staff! We didn't have a reservation, but we should remain friendly. So far so good, it was 6 p.m. and all the tables outside were free. We were just shooed away with the words: “We don’t have any free tables!!” No asking if we want to eat/come back later, the next day or outside. Afterwards we went to Peter Pane and the staff were very friendly and told us on the phone to just come along and they would find a table. The food was really great and the staff remained competent and friendly.

The food was very tasty, we didn't like the cocktails, there wasn't enough alcohol in them and we had to wait about 35 minutes for the food

Good food which came quickly after we were able to order at some point. We redeemed an offer which was very uncomplicated and was also good in terms of price, otherwise not necessarily cheap but the taste was very good and the quantity was really plentiful.

We spent our New Year's Eve in Hans im Glück Hamburg and were well looked after from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Great starters, delicious cocktails, really good burgers and unusual creations left nothing to be desired. Very attentive, friendly waiters. We had a completely successful evening.

Ambience great. Unfortunately we weren't served after 20 minutes. The employees prefer to chat with each other and pay no attention to us.

Typical burger joint. Burgers taste quite good, you can choose between different bread options and there are vegetarian options. However, the prices are already steep. Fries average. But I like that you have several different “dressings” to choose from per table. What I don't like is that the tables are VERY close to each other. Benches are also not conducive to a cozy atmosphere. Made to just grab a quick burger and then leave. Too bad. Toilets were clean.

The two of us had dinner there this evening. Price-performance isn't great. But the fact that a mouse ran under our table at the end just tops it all off. Never again!

Burgers were outstanding, with many vegan options and a generous portion size. Restaurant was very clean and trendy. Unfortunately let down by slow service - individual staff very sweet and apologetic but there were just too few servers for the amount of customers. Spent more time waiting to pay than spent eating!

Chain, so the food is the same as everywhere. Only mixed feelings from the inside: the old town hall creates an atmosphere even if the decor tries to spoil it ;) But the seats are hopeless... maybe if the bar in the middle wasn't so big, there would be a little more space for guests...

War mit 11 Freunden dort essen. Haben uns dafür entschieden draußen zu essen. Die Bänke sind so wackelig das wir oft die Bänke austauschen mussten bis es einigermaßen passte. Wenn draußen alles voll gewesen wäre hätten wir Pech gehabt und wären bei jeder Bewegung auf und ab gehüpft. Hier sollten dringend neue sitzmöglichkeiten angeschafft werden. Anschließend wurde die Bestellung aufgenommen. Es kamen recht schnell die Getränke, aber leider nicht für alle. Bei 2 haben sie gefehlt. Kann mal passieren. Auf Nachfrage war die Antwort ob wir immer so unentspannt seien. Soweit so gut. Essen kam. 1 person von uns hat gar nichts bekommen und 1 nur das Hauptgericht ohne beilage. Kann auch passieren. Aber es dauerte und dauerte. Wir anderen 9 waren schon lange fertig als endlich die vermisste beilage kam und dann bei der anderen Person das essen. Aaaaber es war das falsche Gericht. Darauf angesprochen wurde man regelrecht angesetzt, man solle doch bitte die falschen Zutaten vom burger runternehmen und sich nicht so anstellen. Das war dann zuviel. Eine Entschuldigung hätte hier viel porzellan ganz gelassen aber dann so zu reagieren ist einfach nur unverschämt. Wie gesagt, das essen an sich war gut (zumindest bei denen die es bekommen haben) aber servicetechnisch ist dieser laden absolut zu meiden.

A nice restaurant, walking distance from Speicherstadt and Hauptbahnhof. It is a regular burger restaurant, but there were also many vegan options to choose from. Friendly and efficient staff, good food and good cocktails.

The restaurant is very centrally located not far from Hamburg City Hall. The restaurant has been beautifully integrated into the structure of the historic town hall. Outdoor catering available. Food offering like in all Hans-im-Glück restaurants. We were served very friendly and, due to the small number of guests, we were provided with drinks and food very quickly.

Anyone who knows Hans im Glück knows what to expect. I have now been to 3 Hans im Glück in a different city and have always been very satisfied. Always happy to come back.

Das Restaurant Hans im Glück Hamburg am Alten Rathaus hat mich leider enttäuscht. Die Burger Auswahl war nicht besonders beeindruckend und mein Burger war sogar kalt. Die Würzung ließ ebenfalls zu wünschen übrig und die Pommes waren überwürzt. Einzig der selbstgemachte Eistee konnte mich positiv überraschen. Das Ambiente war sehr erdrückend und die Platzverhältnisse waren katastrophal, besonders wenn man mit mehr als zwei Personen dort essen möchte. Das Personal war zwar freundlich und zuvorkommend, aber insgesamt hat mich das Restaurant nicht überzeugt. Ich persönlich würde nicht wiederkommen und kann das Hans im Glück Hamburg am Alten Rathaus leider nicht weiterempfehlen.

Fries were overloaded with salt. Not really healthy! Burgers are delicious as always. Cocktails are very varied and very tasty! Staff is very friendly, helpful and patient.

Food was as usual...for me there was an Alsatian paired with the lunch menu. I chose a brioche bun, simply my favorite because it's so fluffy and soft. There were also fries and a cola or cocoa as a hot drink included. We like the ambience, the food and the staff are usually very friendly.

I always enjoy eating here. The selection of vegetarian and vegan burgers is large, so you can always try something new. The service could be better, but it's not bad either.

We've enjoyed eating here so far. However, the last two times there was no verbal attention to prices. We were told we could combine everything for the lunch menu and the evening menu. We actually wanted to take the normal combo so that we didn't have to pay any extra. We were also asked if we wanted any sauces. In retrospect, it seemed that both waiters on both days, as friendly as they were, tried to sell as much as possible - without proper explanation. A pity..

We were interested in the unusual design of the place: through the window we could see that trees were growing in the room and the visitors were sitting as if in a tropical forest. Inside, everything turned out to be not so cool, because the height of the same tree trunks was just enough to make an impression on the street, but here you could see the stumps from above, no crowns and leaves, and the magic instantly disappeared. There was no light above our table and no one even thought to help us, and it was difficult to get hold of the waiter, especially with our level of language, so we read the menu and ate in the dark. This is a minus. The three of us each ordered a hamburger, a drink and 1 salad. And waited at least 45 minutes for food! We were about to ask for the bill and leave, because we might be late for the train, but as if hearing our thoughts, they finally brought the order. Yes, the hall was full, but 45 minutes for simple burgers is not cool! The food itself is more or less not bad, and the main thing for us is to eat a hamburger in Hamburg - we did it, although then we had to run to the station. I can recommend the institution to those who are not in a hurry and know German better than A1 😀.

The Hans im Glück burger was very good! I had the chilli cheddar fries with it but unfortunately they weren't that good... the service was super friendly and the atmosphere was pleasantly quiet! Would come again :)
