Very tasty restaurant. If you want to eat a burger in a different way than in most restaurants, this is the place for you. The burger and fries were very good.

Central location, ambience & store orientation great, maybe different background music :) The lemonades & fries were also super tasty!! Staff nice, food acceptable for my taste & unfortunately too expensive for the price.

Inexpensive tasty Asian style burgers. Steak burger was incredibly spicy and aromatic. The meat was very tender but not because of tenderizers but the meat itself was extremely marinated. Strong recommendation! Price-performance is finally right!

Super tasty burgers with an Japanese twist

The burger buns are actually the highlight. Otherwise reasonable quality and delicious selection.

Since I ate there for the first time about 2 years ago, I have eaten there almost every time I am in downtown Cologne. Was there with many friends, have already recommended it many times and can only recommend it to everyone. The burgers fill you up, but don't make you feel as disgustingly stuffed as the "typical American burgers". The burgers are my favorite burgers and no one can top them. So far I have eaten the Hambaga Steak Burger and the Chili Teriyaki Burger.

I've never tasted such a fresh burger! I tried the Chilli Teriyaki Burger menu with Lychee Limo and it was great. The soda was nice and sweet but also refreshing, and it also had a nice color gradient from purple to white. The burger wasn't like any other burger, but more thought was put into the "Japanese Burger". Overall super tasty! The environment was very beautiful with the small cherry blossom tree in the middle of the room and the beautiful tables and chairs. Service was also very good, the owner's little boy was very friendly (greetings) and accommodating. In general, I can definitely recommend this shop in the tumult of Cologne.

Nice and friendly workers. Delicious food to command! I was eating a hambaga once and noticed a man coming in looking for a job, he was greeted very nicely and the workers wanted to help him straight away and didn't throw him out like I've experienced in other restaurants. I hope this man has a job now.

Time of day: Thursday evening People: 2 Reserved?: yes Staff: disinterested. Were there for 1.5 hours and the waiter didn't come to take orders. Price range: high Rating: Burger very tasty. But unfortunately a bit cold. The fries were perfectly seasoned. But also cooled down.

The waitress was lovely and so was the atmosphere, however food wasn’t our favorite. As the concept it sounds very good but unfortunately our burgers were a little bit bland for us, felt like they needed a little bit more spices in order to get the balanced taste of the sweetness, spiciness and savory.Buns also were a little bit raw and hence had unpleasant aftertaste and texture. Meat and fish were okay but again the spices here were of lack. The portion of fries was big and really tasty. We also had teas, which were interesting. All in all it was a good experience, we just thought there are small adjustments to be done and then everything will be great!

Easily one of the best gourmet burger places in cologne. The toppings are better than anywhere else, highest quality. Sadly I was running late and cut it short. After tasting it, I think it's best if paired with beer. Highly recommend.

Next time less mayonnaise in the burger please :) otherwise great!!

Super tasty! Hambaga Burger is highly recommended. Sweet potato fries were prepared differently than usual, but very interesting and tasty. Drinks could be expanded if I had my way, but otherwise everything was really great.

Went there by chance and it was awesome, really nice staff, food was super tasty, it was quick and everything was great! Four burgers, 3 fries, two normal ones, one sweet and 4 delicious lemonades for €84, really great and, above all, super fresh and super attractively served! When we are back we would love to come back. Our kids aged 13 and 11 loved it

The Spicy Shake Burger was very aromatic, the salmon was cooked until translucent and was not prepared spicy if requested. The Hambaga Steak Burger was a revelation, the meat was cooked to perfection and complemented perfectly with the remaining ingredients. Steamed, pink buns that are super fluffy. Our drinks tasted great and were very refreshing. The service was very friendly, accommodating and left none of our questions unanswered. The ambience was magical, timeless and modern. The toilets very clean. The price/performance ratio is completely fair. Because of the unique, delicious taste and the excellent quality. Absolute recommendation from us!

Was there with a friend at lunchtime. There are lunch deals that greatly improve the price/performance level :-) Fries were great. Burgers are something different... instead of minced patties, there are thin pieces of beef (or salmon) together with delicious sauces. Another highlight would be the delicious lemon chia iced tea. Service was very friendly. The biggest point of criticism would be that it was very warm in the store.

I had the tofu burger, which was really tasty, and the sweet potato fries. However, instead of mayo and ketchup, I might have preferred a fancy Japanese-style dip. Together, the burger and fries filled a person perfectly. But I would like to emphasize the very good service. The waiter was friendly, informed and accommodating, I would come back for that reason alone!

The burgers are not too big, but very tasty! Be sure to try the Ebikatsu burger with shrimp patty!

Fantastic burgers and nice service. The ambience is also nice. The burgers tasted very fresh and had a great taste. The portion was also sufficient. We waited a maximum of 10 minutes for burgers and fries.

A third of the burger patty was raw. I was there a month ago and ordered the cheeseburger. The fries were really good and the burger too, until I gradually noticed that the patty was practically raw at one point. When I mentioned this, there was ONLY an 'Oh'. And later I had a bad stomach ache, but luckily no food poisoning. It's a shame because the restaurant otherwise looked very promising.

Very good shop with a small but fine selection. If it were possible, I would give it about 4.5 stars. But it was little things that made me give it 4 stars. The burger, as good as it is, is almost a tad too small. So if you're really hungry, maybe consider an extra patty. And the fries, although there were plenty of them, were unfortunately a bit dry. The homemade iced tea was great. Since there is a pretty good lunch menu at lunchtime, it is particularly recommended at this time.

A very cute and a bit expensive for these small portions, japanese style burger shop. Unfortunately, I will have to take back my review of "everything was very clean and tasty". They were only tasty. Both me and my brother had extreme Diarrhea, many times, until the next day. Your burger jeopardized our whole trip. We had the main cheeseburger menu.

The portion was really small, but the burger tasted very good. It was juicy and the sauce was amazing. There was no air conditioning at all (especially in summer) and it was hot inside, and the interior design was quite old-fashioned and kitschy, but the taste was good

I had the pleasure of visiting HAMBAGA Japanese Burger Restaurant for lunch and absolutely loved it! The lunch menu was simply fantastic. The Hambaga Steak Burger was a delight – juicy, perfectly seasoned and topped with fresh ingredients. And yes, the Bruger Bun was indeed rose 😱 The fries that came with it were crispy and golden brown, just the way I like them. For a drink I had the Chia Lemon Iced Tea, which was not only refreshing but also had an interesting texture thanks to the chia seeds. A wonderful combination! Finally, I treated myself to the Strawberry Mochis. These small, sweet delicacies were the perfect end to a thoroughly successful meal. The ambience of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. I can highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit!

The waiter was great, the African brother was very accommodating, but the owner behind the cash register, the young lady with glasses, was so unpleasant just because I said take-away at the beginning and then she would eat here. She was Asian, strange, the steak citizen wasn't mine, the meat was partly not chewable the cheeseburger was good too much mayo annoying but ok!

Splendid restaurant and very good burger. The decoration is really beautiful. And my cheeseburger was delicious, all the ingredients are fresh, the buns are soft and have a slight sweet note, almost like we were biting into a macaroon. Really very good. The fries were also on point, crispy and well cooked. A great address that I highly recommend.

tldr; Too expensive for what is offered and too boring for what is required. The burger was quite small and tasted okay, although very reserved in taste. However, the tofu inside was very bland and surprisingly disappointing. The fact that the rolls were pink makes them cute, but unfortunately no less boring. The fries were very soggy and the mayo wasn't anything that would justify the price. The homemade lemonade was very sweet and with a mark on the glass the €5.20 might be more reasonable.

The fries were great. The bad rating because the homemade lemonades and iced teas are quite expensive at 0.4l (€5.20), but they definitely only contain 0.3l. When we asked the waitress about it, she didn't speak German well enough to have a discussion (which is OK per se), but she wasn't able to respond to us at all. When the bill came, I wanted a compromise to be found. She then said that her boss would be back tomorrow and that I could discuss it then. There's nothing she can do now. I could get an extra drink tomorrow. Then one now too. The attempt at the end was fair, but the discussion beforehand was simply extremely exhausting. Absolute no go!

We actually wanted to go somewhere else, but had to go here. And we haven't regretted it. Super tasty burgers. And the fries are great too. Unfortunately some of them have peel, which I am unfortunately allergic to. But taste great. If you don't like meat, you can switch to fish. For example, I had the tofu burger. And it was anything but tasteless. I will definitely come back.

The menu is quite small and focuses on the essentials :) Unfortunately, the burgers are a bit small. I would have expected a little more. The prices are okay for the location.

Well, I ordered the Hambaga and my wife the cheese burger, and I think it was one of the best burgers I had in Cologne. Totally recommend. The sweet potato was very tasty but soft. The lemonade was perfect. Everything very well presented. If you read this and haven't been there yet, don't be afraid of going there. xD

The burgers are very tasty, but quite small for the price. Overall it is a bit more expensive. It was ok to try it out once, but I wouldn't come again.

We wanted to try out the restaurant and ordered 4x burgers + 2x fries via Uber and two burgers and one fries arrived. Result: Half of the group is hungry. They “only” gave the money back and then had to wait another hour and order somewhere else.

Very tasty burgers and homemade fries. The service was very nice. However, you only get the bottles with glass there, you have to pour them yourself. The women's toilet is one floor below. Disabled people therefore have no chance of going to the toilet. The restaurant could be decorated a little more comfortably. But it's a matter of taste. The main thing is the very good food.

2022: No lie, the best burgers I've ever eaten! 🤤 And the drinks are just as delicious works of art! 🤩 A big compliment to the kitchen! Update almost two years later: Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated significantly since we were last there. What a shame! Hambaga was always my absolute favorite and personal insider tip among the burger shops, but unfortunately that has now changed. The reasons: ▪︎ Unfortunately the sweet potato fries are much too soft ▪︎ Burger buns are nothing special anymore, except for the color, which is now pink. But otherwise no special taste or texture, just limp. ▪︎ The portion and the wow effect were far too small for the price. ▪︎ But the worst: Shortly after eating we had severe stomach pain and severe bloating until the evening of the following day! So strong that we couldn't even sleep. There was definitely something wrong with the food! At first it was difficult for me to attribute it to the burgers because I was always so enthusiastic about Hambaga, but I can't explain it any other way... We had previously been to the FIBO trade fair and had not eaten anything there all day, only sandwiches from the bakery in the morning, which we tolerated very well. So it must come from the burgers. I've never experienced anything like that! And then from Hambaga too! My favorite bug shop! 😭 I am very disappointed and very, very sad that Hambaga as I know and love it no longer exists and also that a beautiful day with hunger and anticipation for the tastiest burgers ever is unfortunately a thing of the past had to end in such a disappointment... 😔

The burger I had, Hambaga Steak Burger, tasted pretty good, the sauces, the meat, salad/vegetables were all good, the fries were sensational and the dessert, Mochi, was delicious. I would recommend the store at any time.
