Schwerin Christmas Market: The way the owner treats his staff is absolutely appalling. I would have left after 10 minutes. The food was thrown together carelessly and was cold. I will definitely never eat at a place like this again.

We used to find it very cozy. This time the food was presented without any care. The dining room was very cold. The price-performance ratio was okay.

Schnitzel, fries, and mushroom sauce—not exactly a difficult combination. But it was presented without any care, the schnitzel was tough as leather, and the mushroom sauce was just like instant soup. Add a Coke, and you're out over 16 euros. It's a bad joke. The food used to be really good there, sadly, those days are gone.

What's considered a cultural asset in North Rhine-Westphalia is a treasure in Hamburg's pearl. I ride the 12km BioBike to enjoy the grill menu. The staff are service-oriented, friendly, and perfectly suited for a snack of happiness; I think the staff are the snack! Thank you very much🙌🙇🏼 Sometimes I'm on a BioBike tour nearby, like recently when I was in Finkenwerder. I calculated the route, taking the ferry to the Devil's Bridge, through the beautiful park to the grill menu🤤. I like to sit outside under a roof with my comfort food set: turkey shashlik, fries, a small pasta salad, and malt beer 😇 24km of cycling and bliss in my luggage – environmentally friendly, dynamic, and delicious!

We went there for half a chicken. We were in the store between 7 and 8 p.m. We were told they were out of chicken.

I went to my favorite snack bar again today to get food. The new owners are really rocking the place. It's always incredibly busy, and both the staff and customers are relaxed. You might have to wait a bit, but it's always worth it. Delicious, delicious, and the staff are super friendly. And the owner always has a smile for his guests. And when the weather's nice, the terrace or the seating in front of the shop is a great place to linger. Inside, time has stood still since my childhood, despite different owners, but I love it. It was good as a kid and even better now. Not everything needs to change. Conclusion: delicious food, not overly expensive, and super friendly staff. Thumbs up. I paid just under €43 for 4 currywursts, 2 1/2 chicken breasts, 2.5 red and white fries, and a 0.5 Coke, which is fine 😉 Oh, by the way, you can now also have this great food delivered 😀

A good company would acknowledge the criticism, whether justified or not, and, if improvements are important to them, address it internally. However, they would never react to a negative review in any way. You have to be able to endure that. It demonstrates a certain helplessness. At some point, you have to perform well and shouldn't rest on the laurels of your predecessors for too long. Update 06/18/25 Unfortunately, the old review had to be completely revised. Unfortunately, everything is now prepared in the deep fryer. One fryer for fries and one for the rest. It has nothing to do with "grilled" food anymore. I can also get sausage from the deep fryer at any international cuisine delivery service or kebab shop. The counter with the delicious salads—the cucumber salad was sooo delicious—is also a thing of the past. The service is nowhere near what it used to be. The old "Grill Kate" remains a fond memory. I'm not wasting any time thinking about the new one. Another piece of home lost.

When I moved to Schenefeld, this snack bar was recommended to me by neighbors. I feel like I've finally found a good, home-style snack bar after decades, where the owner and now the new staff are very friendly. The food is good, and the atmosphere is really good. Overwhelmed staff, unhygienic, young man with a runny nose, drops falling into the food or being wiped away with fingers, and then the food being placed on the plates with the same fingers. The order taker didn't listen properly, and fries had to be reordered. The wait time was too long. The grill used to be great, but I can't recommend it anymore.

The food was great! We ordered two half chickens with fries, beer and coke. The portions were really generous and for only 25 euros there was a lot for the price. The chicken was perfectly grilled, nice and juicy and the fries were fresh and crispy. Seating available inside and outside. Service good!

When I came into the dining room, the supposed waitress was standing behind the counter and talking to a woman. I was ignored and the conversation about private matters continued unimpressed. Then I was asked about my wishes without even being greeted. This inattention on the part of the waiter took revenge a short time later with questions about the order from me and the person who came after me. My food came, Schnitzel Jäger and fries with mayonnaise. I've never tasted such bad sauce. Judging by the color, it was a gravy, not a cream sauce. The taste was non-existent. It lacked a lot of seasoning but had a sour aftertaste, very unusual for a gravy. The schnitzel was ok, I ate it without sauce. I think there is still room for improvement in terms of friendliness and taste...

Everything is fried so if you want a nice grilled sausage you've come to the wrong place! I would love to have my money back and give 0 stars because the sausage came out again

We went there on a Sunday, with our family, to eat mainly Schweine Schnitzel. The Pommes are excellent, crispy and just the right amount of salt. The Schnitzel steaks are tender and also served crispy. We found everything fresh and well-made. They have beers and soft drinks, among other options. The atmosphere is simple and we had no trouble finding a seat. A lot of people come to get their food to go. **Cash only**

I have been a customer here for many, many years. The food was always perfect and so was the service. The recent slight price increase is tolerable. What is completely incomprehensible is the extreme reduction in quantity at the same time. For example, the shish kebab was reduced by 1 piece of meat, i.e. by a whole 20%! This is neither understandable nor appropriate given the price. I will therefore say goodbye to Grill-Kate. It's a shame, but I would also recommend it to anyone else who no longer wants to pay such prices for a greatly reduced quantity that is actually no longer filling. I think some customers will follow me. ----- A shish kebab here costs around 6 EUR. Nowhere! You pay more for a small shish kebab that now has reduced meat! The quality is really great. In the future, put another piece of meat on the skewer... then everything will be ok again.

I was there three times with a colleague and we were happy that Grill Kate reopened after years. We were hoping for good curry or other fried sausages as well as other homemade delicacies. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the taste on all three visits. The first time I had half a rooster with potato salad, the chicken was dry but OK for me because I prefer the chicken dry. The potato salad tasted like ready-made potato salad from Metro or like from another wholesale chain (very vinegar-heavy) from the Big Bucket. The colleague had the currywurst with fries, something classic. The currywurst came out of the deep fryer and was dripping with fat, you couldn't tell whether the curry sauce was homemade or just curry ketchup, the fries were good. The other time I had a ham sausage with fries, unfortunately the ham sausage also came from the deep fryer, a bratwurst should be fried or grilled, but please not in the deep fryer. My colleague had ordered a currywurst fries again, but this time with a meatball. The meatball is probably also bought where the potato salad comes from. So industrial goods that are expensive and not tasty, I think they were also warmed up in the deep fryer. Last time I had half a rooster that tasted dry to me, the potato salad was still from a bucket from a wholesaler, the currywurst my colleague ordered was like the last time, not tasty and from the deep fryer. the fries were good again. Now about the ambience. It is old and rustic as we know it from before. What wasn't bad, what we found unhygienic was the cutlery and the served food in a glass on the table. Everyone digs in there with their potentially dirty hands and who knows what else will be done with them. On two of the three visits the large table was pretty dirty when we wanted to sit down, we then went to another table that looked cleaner. A little tip: maybe more homemade food and a roasting pan for the sausage, meatballs, schnitzel or other products that don't belong in the deep fryer. Unfortunately we won't be coming back, my colleagues and I were so happy to have a real snack bar nearby next to all the kebab shops. But I can buy the industrial products myself cheaper.

I think the Grill-Kate is great because everything is right and the employees are very nice. Everything I've tried tastes delicious.

Cash payment only and please pay appropriately as it cannot be changed. Unfortunately, this prevents us from going there more often. If you don't want to have a lot of money in the cash register, then please use all small change. Food is great, service is good, but what's the point if you're not allowed to pay :(

The older lady in the front is constantly annoyed and sometimes shouts at the kitchen help. The tables could also be cleaned. Food and drink is average to below average. Anyone who knows the Grill Kate from the past and would like to return to the good old days should go somewhere else. Food 2/5. Ambience 1/5. Staff 1/5. Were here last time.

I'm a little sad that my favorite foods are no longer available since the renovation. It has been reduced to snack classics. I liked the cabonade and the roast beef. However, the lunch table urgently needs to come back. When I was there there was at least Königsberg dumplings, something in the original direction. All in all, I'm glad that there's still a real snack bar here.

A very popular grill snack, the food in the attached restaurant is pleasant, tasty home cooking. The staff is friendly and helpful and responds to your wishes. The restaurant is very clean and has a small garden at the back where you can dine when the weather is nice. Was closed for a while and has reopened. The food selection is no longer as wide but what is there is super tasty. The service is nice and friendly. It is worth it ..

What a huge joy it was that it reopened ☺️ Then the disappointment! Food bland, service latently annoyed, prices increased enormously 😐 ok, it could have been because the “run” on day 2 was of course enormous, so 2 weeks later, next try ☺️ Shortly after 7pm on a weekday the extremely unfriendly older female waitress said: “WE HAVE NO CHICKENS ANYMORE!” Do we have to be so annoyed because we wanted to buy something there?! We have so far resisted a third attempt because we are not the only ones who have had this unpleasant experience... Conclusion: no comparison to the old and regularly visited Grillkate 😐

Schnitzel comes out of the deep fryer and was dry and tasteless. The fries were also hardly seasoned. I would rather pay a little more money and then have a properly prepared dish of good quality. I wouldn't stop again.

We didn't know Grill Kate before. Were there for the second time now. The schnitzels are nice and big, the fries and currywurst are very tasty. We paid a little more than 20 euros for 2 meals and 3 drinks. Price-wise, completely okay. The service was very friendly both times. I would like to say to some of the previous reviews: “you can also queue”.

Mittags waren wir zu dritt dort. Es gab Jägerschnitel und Currywurst, jeweils mit Pommes! Das Essen war, wie man es in einem Imbiss erwartet, rustikal, viel und lecker! Die freundliche Bedienung rundete das Essen ab. Einziger Kritikpunkt. Es war etwas kühl im Lokal. Parkplätze direkt vor der Tür und das beste, keine abgehobenen Preise!

Große Currywurst mit leckeren Pommes mit ausreichend viel Soße und Majo zu den Pommes. Die große Cola ist mit 0,5l auch wirklich groß. Preise normal und für die Qualität und Größe der Portion völlig angemessen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und flink. Ich komme gern wieder.

Die Gerichte sind gut und schmecken. Wobei eine Portion 🍟 mit 3.30.- ohne Ketchup o. Mayonnaise schon mächtig zu Buche schlagen. Ferner ist es sinnlos vorher telefonisch zu bestellen damit man das essen ohne lange Wartezeiten abholen kann. Die Bedienung ( Besitzer) ? Sind sehr nett und höflich.

Leider nicht mehr wie früher.und teuer. Da esse ich liebe ein Hähnchen oder eine haxe von Globus eine grosse haxe für 5 Euro eine etwas kleinere 3,50 .Und salate sind mega top bei globus. Bei euch sucht man den Salat. Habe das Gefühl, das diese Leute von ihrem Laden absolut keine Ahnung haben. Einfach alle sich zusammen getan um überhaupt irgendwas zu machen aber von dem thema Küche seid ihr weit entfernt.!!

Wer es heiss und fettig mag , bisher nie enttäuscht worden. Besonders der halbe Hahn ist zu empfehlen.

Nette junge Männer als Verkäufer. Hatte Fischfilet bestellt. War verhältnismäßig günstig aber ich bin nicht satt geworden. Musste noch eine Currywurst bestellen die besser als der Fisch war.

Gestern das erstemalunter neuem Besitzer hier gewesen. 2 halbe Hänchen und eine Grillhaxe zum Mitnehmen bestellt. Alles schmeckte gut👍. Wollte mir eigentlich noch Pommes und Mayonnaise dazu bestellen. Leider war mir das zu teuer. Extra Salate ebenfalls zu teuer. Parkplätze sind an der Hauptstraße vorhanden. Freundlicher Imbissbesitzer. Preis für 2 1/2 Hänchen und eine Haxe 21,70€! Das kann man sich nur selten leisten für einen Imbiss (leider).

Das Essen ist rustikal gut. Die Location ist rustikal gut. Der Service ist überfordert, bei Fehlern wird das Problem auf den Kunden abgewälzt und dabei ist der Service noch unfreundlich in der Kommunikation.
