We liked the dishes, and we particularly liked the salad. Good and above all friendly service as well as acceptable waiting times. The lack of mobile phone coverage would sometimes be good for other places too. Unfortunately no card payment.

Was surprised that they only take cash. It is very isolated with no cash machine nearby. The tables were almost all gone Before they opened at 15:00. Prices were reasonable.

Be careful: the onion cake is a small flame cake with onions....🫤 A little disappointed

I have been coming to the Griestal Strauße for several years now and have always been very enthusiastic about the delicious Baden dishes served there. The children can run around in the playground while you can have a good time in the beautiful vineyard ambience at Tuniberg. Unfortunately the dog was buried a bit last time, I assume it was due to the lack of staff in the catering industry, but that shouldn't be a reason to treat your guests like that. Unfortunately, my cheese spaetzle that day was a bit dry and not “smokey” enough. That can happen sometimes, I ate it all and allowed myself one or two more white wines. My colleagues at the table didn't like the sausage salad at all, the vinaigrette was far too bland and the semolina (fried potato slices), which are otherwise always very tasty, were served cold that day. After a few bites, he let the plate go back and said he wouldn't pay for it, which resulted in the chef coming to our table a little angry and instead of apologizing, she accused us of eating half of the plate should have eaten everything and are to blame for the fact that it is now backing up in the kitchen because of us. That was a bit overwhelming not only for our table, the neighboring tables couldn't believe it either. Well, things aren't that easy, especially in the hospitality industry. That's why I unfortunately don't have any understanding for my colleagues. They were there for the last time. I will come back in the hope that it will be as good as it was many times before.

Nice ostrich economy The service was great, the conditions were nice and they kept an eye on their guests. You never had to wait long and the orders came to the table quickly. The food and wine were very tasty. For 2 hot meals, 2 glasses of wine with water and a starter, I paid €50 with a tip. I think it's a very good price for the delicious food, the good wine and the great service

Cozy Straußi, with friendly and attentive service. The food tastes very good and is plentiful, even if you are very hungry. What fascinated me was that families with children could sit on the lawn and be served there. The restaurant provides the party blanket. 👍👍All in all, highly recommended!!!

Nice location in the vineyards, but already very crowded after 6 p.m. The service seemed very stressed (3 service staff for the whole evening) and was sometimes unfriendly. There is no beer or Cola/Fanta. The food came quickly, but not at the same time. There were 2 allergy sufferers in our group, unfortunately that didn't work well (the gluten-containing sauce was on the plate, the peppers were just roughly fished out of the food). Anyone who has allergies or intolerances cannot rely on being taken into consideration! When asked about this, the service including the boss reacted annoyed. Unfortunately, not only allergy sufferers suffer afterwards, there were also digestive problems for non-allergy sufferers. We probably won't come back.

Absolute recommendation. A dream when the weather is nice. Great food. Great team. Parking no problem. We'll be back.

The food was good but not very good. Unfortunately it was always the same menu. At some point you no longer know what to eat. It's not a bad idea to change one or two dishes from the standard menu. But since it's very well attended, that's probably not necessary. What a shame!

Very nice rustic ostriches to eat outside in good weather. Rich Baden menu. The windy Griestaler (roasted potato skins) with garlic sauce are a hit. Definitely try it. Everything else is also very good. It's great that you can still buy plums and mirabelle plums and local vegetables and take them with you. A real treat during red and black currant season. All wines (organic) are highly recommended, tasty droplets Ostrich itself away from the hustle and bustle Last house in the Griestal, therefore in a great location for walks with enough parking spaces.

Very nice location in the vineyards. The fact that you have the choice to sit at a table, a bar table or on the lawn with a picnic blanket is very inviting. The service ladies are very friendly. The food came quite quickly and we had no complaints.

The food was okay, unfortunately a bit bland for my taste. The service was not served for 40 minutes, we waited forever for drinks and after several requests for the bill, still no one came. Unfriendly and no time is taken for the guests; they prefer to take the time at the counter as a waiter team to drink a wine while the guests wait.

What more do you want ... Very good food, friendly staff and in the middle of the Tuniberg. I ate Leberle with Brägele and they were Tippi Toppi 👍 Also recommended are the cheese spaetzle. But also remember ☝️it's an ostrich and there's no cola or beer 😉 Unfortunately you can't make a reservation and on nice days it can get very busy! Parking spaces are available free of charge 👍

When busy with a large group, poor quality and sometimes unfriendly service!! If you come alone, you may be ignored or have to wait a long time until your order is taken and even longer for the food, never again!!!!

I've known the ostriches for well over twenty years now and every time I'm back home I see that's enough for a visit!! 💞 What is particularly admirable for me is that the quality level has remained consistently high even after all these years. 😋😋😋 A bike tour through the Tuniberg or a refreshing swim in the nearby Rimsinger Baggersee is also highly recommended.

A dream - was there today with friends, a great culinary experience at very fair prices. Ll be back soon.

Even though the ostrich was very full, the staff were very friendly and you still didn't have to wait too long. And even if it were, it would be so bad. You sit comfortably and sometimes you have to wait for a free seat. But that shows how good the ostriches are. Always happy.

Very bad service, waitress first distributes cold food (salads) and leaves the warm food standing longer before serving. Was complained about. The food was reheated in the microwave and served again. Sad. Service staff are not capable of criticism. Despite everything, paid full price. Regardless of whether it's a farm or a restaurant, something like that doesn't work. Very tasty, traditional and seasonal food in a great atmosphere. The Flädlesuppe was unusual as a northern light, but very tasty, the asparagus cream soup was excellent. The wild garlic roulades were also very good, especially together with the fried potato slices (“Griestaler”). Unfortunately, one star deduction because card payment is not possible. This no longer has to be the case in 2024.

Here you can eat good, traditional food and really tasty food. Price-performance is also very fair.

Honest and delicious. The portions are so big that you will definitely be full. The eye eats (you can probably eat the clover flower on the food too 😀).

The location is nice but you have to like the crowded atmosphere. Of course the owners can't do anything about it, but you still just don't come to the WE because you can't experience any of the peace and quiet and the "hidden" location between the vines... Of course the potato pancakes aren't the best

I ordered wild garlic spaetzle with white and green asparagus, refined with dried tomatoes, roasted pine nuts and hollondaise sauce. Unfortunately there were no green asparagus on the plate and the pine nuts were replaced with cheaper cashews. Unfortunately, the spaetzle was also burnt and the taste was accordingly. #surprise egg #cancer The wine spritzer was good, as was the service. Otherwise the price/performance is right. I'll give the ostrich another chance if I'm still alive by then. #Carbon

Always nice in the Griestal, very relaxed crowd and the service is also good. Something outside for everyone to linger. You can always find a good seat in the dining room itself.

I haven't been here for a while. The menu seemed reduced and the sausage salad wasn't worth the money. The ambience inside was ok but people smoked in the awning and you had to go through that. Service great!

We come here regularly with the family. The family business prepares all dishes excellently, without exception. The Brägele and wine cream are definitely recommended. The ambience is fantastic and beautiful, especially because of its remote location. The waitresses are always extremely friendly and, despite the high number of visitors, they always try hard and are very quick. All in one an absolute must for anyone who lives nearby or is visiting Freiburg!

A particularly hospitable, cozy place. Very tasty food, good wines. You can also sit on blankets on the adjacent lawn and you will also be served. Top attentive, friendly staff and very, very warm, friendly hosts.

Recommended for stopping off. Good opportunity to spend the night in a quiet atmosphere after a few spritzers with your motorhome. No cell phone reception at all which is very pleasant. Nobody plays on their cell phones for hours here.

The ostriches are a great idea to combine after a hike or bike tour. It's all so delicious 😋 that you can easily visit it even without exercising, there is a parking lot there.

You should know that you have to pay in cash! The sausage salad wasn't quite to my taste, but the Brägele (fried potatoes) and Griestaler were very good.

Lokal hat um 17 Uhr aufgesperrt und war sofort voll besetzt. Man sitzt dicht an dicht auf Holzbänken, dazwischen stehen die vielen Wartenden, der Lärm ist ohrenbetäubend. Auf das Essen haben wir 1 Stunde gewartet, das wurde uns schon von der Kellnerin so angekündigt. Es war nicht schlecht. Trotzdem würde ich nicht mehr in diesen Zirkus wollen. Erholsam ist das nicht.

Nach einer kleinen Wanderung auf dem Tuniberg runter in die Griestalstrausse, ist immer wieder schön. Sofern man einen Platz bekommt, denn hier tobt immer das Leben. Wir mögen den weitläufigen Aussenbereich mit zahlreichen Sitzgelegenheiten, aber auch drinnen ist es urig und gemütlich. Der Service ist aufmerksam und freundlich, Preis Leistung moderat und für jede Jahreszeit immer das passende Angebot. Heute war es Neuer Süßer und Zwiebelkuchen... Ich hatte zwar schon einen besseren gegessen aber das Leberle war top. Wir sind gerne dort.

Sehr leckeres Essen und guter Wein. Bedienungen sind fleißig, keine langen Wartezeiten, weder beim Bestellen, Essen oder die Rechnung bringen. War insgesamt sehr voll, Sonntag nachmittags um 17 Uhr, hatten Glück noch ein Plätzchen gefunden zu haben. Gerne wieder.

On y revient avec plaisir chaque année... C'est toujours plein (c'est bon signe meme s'il est parfois difficile de se garer) la nourriture est simple mais bonne et copieuse, service rapide et attentif... Les tables communes ou les nappes de pique-nique participent à l'ambiance !

Schon seit Jahren geh ich in die Griestal-Strauße und jeder Besuch war bis jetzt immer toll! Schöne Atmosphäre im Tuniberg umgeben von Weinbergen, leckeres Essen typisch für eine Straußenwirtschaft und natürlich sehr nettes Personal. Sowohl bei schönem Wetter draußen als auch bei Regen ein absolutes Träumchen. Freue mich auf den nächsten Besuch!

Für mich die beste Strauße in der Region! Essen schmeckt hervorragend und wir schnell serviert, überhaupt ist der Service sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Location ist etwas abgelegen, dafür ruhig und mit schönem Ausblick auf die Weinreben. Absolute Empfehlung!

Tolle Gaststätte mit sehr leckeren Essen. Leider immer sehr gut besucht weswegen man auf einen Platz und auf sein Essen warten muss.
