The Gosenschenke Ohne Zweifel was recommended to us, and I would like to pass this recommendation on to anyone visiting Leipzig who wants to try the best, home-brewed Gose beer. I haven't found a better one in Leipzig. The food is also excellent and definitely worth trying. The staff is very friendly, competent, and attentive. The ambiance in the restaurant and the large beer garden invite you to linger. So, if you come to Leipzig, the Gosenschenke Ohne Zweifel is an absolute highlight.

We were looking for a restaurant serving local food, and we weren't disappointed. We were seated immediately and the service was very attentive. Solyanka as an appetizer, half a pork knuckle with cabbage and dumplings, and a Gosegipfel (a German goose-flavored croissant) as a main course. Both were excellent. Highly recommended. We sat in the beer garden in the early afternoon.

We were on vacation and were absolutely thrilled. The food was delicious and the service friendly. The wait for the food was very short, although it can take longer if it's very busy, but anyone with common sense should be understanding. We highly recommend the Gosenschenke. If you want good homemade food and beer, this is the place to be. Best from Lower Saxony.

We sat as a group on the self-service outdoor seating. 0.5l beer for €5.50? Too expensive! Coke, Fanta, Sprite 0.5l for €5.50. Too expensive! Bratwurst with a bread roll on a plate: €4. Too expensive! The absolute highlight: Currywurst pan: A pizza plate with overly hard, dry fries (even McDonald's can do better), poorly to barely salted, 8 slices of sausage drowned in tomato sauce that gets its flavor from curry powder. And this crap for €12. Cost of goods probably €2.50. Absolutely not recommended! I also think it's cool that the snack bar staff don't wash their hands after smoking.

We were here for dinner in August 2025 and unfortunately stumbled into several families' back-to-school celebrations. Perhaps that's why the kitchen was completely overwhelmed; we had to wait almost an hour for the salad plates we ordered. The salad served was very tasteless, poorly prepared, and the duck breast served with it resembled a shoe sole and was overseasoned. Charging €22 for this was beyond the pale. All in all, not a brilliant performance and unfortunately only worthy of two stars.

We had dinner at the Gosenschenke yesterday for Sunday and were very disappointed. Although we were always satisfied, the food wasn't worth the money, fried potatoes were from the day before, the side dish wasn't worth mentioning and the knuckle was very dry. The service is super nice and attentive.

The menu didn't have a very large selection of different meat dishes. Customers who don't eat pork have a hard time choosing food. The solyanka tasted very good and so did the pork schnitzel with fried potatoes and salad. The beers were very expensive.

If you order Spatz, it comes with just the meat on the bone, submerged in sauce and cooked (no skin, no fat). Since I had already eaten elsewhere, I ordered a lighter and more comfortable menu. The meat was tender, but the sauce was a bit greasy for Korean tastes. Fortunately, if you have gourmet beer, it's not a big problem. Looking at past reviews, it seems like they served several types of goje, but now they only make one type, Edelgose, and the others are Kellerbier and dark beer. Other beers are fine, but if you have to drink just one, it's definitely Goje. The light acidity comes in pleasantly. (It doesn't feel too sour) Tomato soup is also delicious. suggestion!

From the outside it seems rather inconspicuous, but inside you can expect an authentic and cozy German atmosphere. The restaurant offers three different traditional Gose beers, one of which is even brewed in-house. For those who don't like Gose, they also brew Kellerbier, Schwarzbier and a seasonal beer (this time it was a Bock). All beers are interesting and have their own character. The food was also excellent - delicious! The pork knuckle was simply great, it even said the weight - 1.3 kg, hard to believe! 😳 The service was also great 👍 So it's suitable for every beer lover and gourmet!
