GOSCH Bansin im Beachhouse in Heringsdorf

We think Gosch is a good place in Bansin and the surrounding area. It offers good value for money. Very good and attentive service. A nice atmosphere. A good selection.

It's a self-service restaurant, so the service is difficult to rate. The self-service aspect makes it a bit less cozy. But the food was really delicious.

Always thought the store was expensive...but price/performance is totally ok

We only had a drink. The Aperol was a disaster, a ready-made product, without ice cubes or orange slices. When we asked about it, we were told: "This is just a snack bar. We're used to something different from Gosch."

Solid food in a maritime atmosphere. Self-service, rather unfriendly, rude staff. Benefits from the location and tourists...

Unfortunately, it was disappointing. I ordered fried shrimp on a bed of baked vegetables with toasted baguette and herb butter for €19.90. The bowl consisted mostly of overcooked carrots and beets, a single, flavorless red mass with shrimp on top. For baked vegetables, I expect more than two standard vegetables. A small slice of baguette wasn't enough. The shrimp were delicious. I'm actually used to something different at Gosch, like Gosch in Wenningstedt on Sylt. It's a real shame!

The salads were excellent, one with shrimp that they found again, and the other with tasty fish fillets. The fries were a positive surprise—crispy and fresh. The location was exquisite for Bansin. The two chefs were friendly and cool. Otherwise, it's self-service; clearing away (even though it wasn't busy) took a while... and yes... Either way, unfortunately/necessarily, it's a bistro-style place with relatively "good" prices. €70 for two salads, one fries, one white wine spritzer, and one 0.2 liter wine... phew.

Price-performance ratio is not exactly appropriate.

You had to search for fried fish, frozen food from the bag and fried potatoes with a magnifying glass, which is actually quite embarrassing. We don't have them anymore.

Super delicious fish, freshly prepared. Service...it's self-service, so no more than 3 stars are possible.

The worst fish sandwiches I have ever eaten

We already know Gosch from another location, wanted a good meal here, and of course, we weren't disappointed. Friendly staff, super-tasty shrimp. The atmosphere was inviting. The service was attentive and friendly. We'd gladly go back.

Super nice place. You have to order food and drinks at the counter and pick them up. The food is highly recommended. Everything is freshly prepared.

We were there several times and were very satisfied

First, the positives: the location and ambiance are good; the wine—the Pinot Gris—was excellent both in terms of taste and price. The service was unfriendly, even though the place was almost empty at 4:30 p.m. We had to clear our table of the dishes left by the previous guests ourselves, as no one had come to serve us even after 20 minutes. The food: we had the zander with shrimp and the summer salad with fish fillets, together for just under €50. Both were a disappointment for us; the salad was accompanied, among other things, by a cold, oil-soaked baguette slice; the fish was dry but still okay. The zander was unseasoned and full of bones, the fried potatoes had no roasted flavor and were greasy. We're used to all this much better from other Gosch locations.

I have never eaten a more boring herring fish sandwich.

A very nice restaurant. Lovingly decorated. The pesto spaghetti with shrimp is amazing. The fish, too, of course.

This GOSCH restaurant may have relatively poor reviews, but for me, it was a great experience today. The tables were cleared and cleaned quickly, and everyone was helpful. GOSCH is self-service. Menus are available both at the counter and at the table. There are outdoor seats, seats at the edge, seats in the middle, seats without backrests, or somewhat hidden seats with comfortable benches and chairs. Of course, you'd prefer comfortable chairs here, not sitting on display in the middle of the crowd. We found a nice, secluded seat at the edge. The portions were generous and simply delicious. The fish was well-cooked. The oven-baked vegetables as an extra side dish were excellent. We enjoyed a delicious meal.

The most delicious fish soup...

Not all fish soups are created equal; by comparison, this is the best I've had at Gosch so far. Generously filled and hot. The staff is very attentive and friendly. SPO has been declining for years. A shame.

The service at the ordering and delivery counter was excellent. The food was okay. Unfortunately, the outdoor ambiance was only mediocre due to high demand, and the smoking at neighboring tables was really unpleasant.

Fish snack bar with a lovely atmosphere. I ordered the shrimp with roasted vegetables. A disgrace. The roasted vegetables consisted of carrots, sweet potatoes, beets, and onions. It looked like shit on the plate... Truly disgusting. I would have preferred fresh zucchini, peppers, garlic, and onions. But Gosch doesn't seem to need it. Cheap, made-to-order, and good.

Since I know and highly appreciate the restaurant in Warnemünde, I wanted to enjoy the delicious shrimp with a glass of wine in Bansin. The unkempt employee was obviously annoyed. I've never been served so rudely. I asked for a sweet wine, and I received a harsh rebuff that I couldn't even really understand. The friendly employee next door explained to me that they didn't have any sweet wines. Unfortunately, the service put me off my appetite.

Very tense staff. We asked how it worked. Because we (a bit older) didn't know how to get what to eat. Instructions are on the menu! (It's very small, like an advertisement). Only self-service and instant checkout. Every friendly question received a rude answer, not to mention that the portions were good, although the food tasted quite good. Unfortunately, the service was very poor. More like a fast food joint or a factory canteen. A shame.

Gosch is a very good restaurant in Bansin. We've been there several times, ordered, and always found a seat. It should be noted that Gosch is a self-service restaurant, similar to McDonald's. Unfortunately, the prices are high, the quality is mediocre, and the service is self-service. At these prices, table service would actually be appropriate, and given the quality, the high prices wouldn't be appropriate ;-)

As always, the food was excellent. For a self-service restaurant, everything was very quick. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. The price/performance ratio is good for the quality.

I find it a shame that food is treated so tastelessly. My fish sandwich only had half a herring and an onion ring! I would appreciate it if you could put a little effort and love into your service and products.

Food is ordered inside at the counter, which can take a while or get hectic during busy times. You then get a button and choose a table. When the button lights up, the food is ready. You hand it back to the counter, whereupon the food is handed to you. Drinks are available at a separate counter; you also pay for them there and then you can take them out with you. Liberal dog policy. The food was completely average, and could have been at a North Sea beach or somewhere in a pedestrian zone.

The food is unquestionably recommended. We had the plaice fillets, and they were truly top-notch. The staff behind the counter were consistently pleasant and friendly. What does come across as a bit cheeky, however, is that even when paying by card, the machine asks you if you want to tip. Hello? It's completely self-service. You get your food at one counter and your drinks at the other.

After initially pleasant service for the shrimp with a glass of blanc, I was unfortunately disappointed. I waited for the wine, and after complaining, I was politely told that I hadn't ordered the advertised shrimp with wine. However, I had specifically requested shrimp with a glass of blanc when ordering. Since I don't need any more hassle in life, I paid for the wine as well. There were certainly other ways to handle this, but whatever. Afterward, the shrimp with the extra wine did taste good after all...but overall, it could have been better.

Unfortunately, this afternoon we encountered an extremely arrogant and condescending service employee who was unable to help us with a voucher.

The food is tasty and the value for money is good, the ambiance is okay, GOSCH is always a good choice.

A definite recommendation. The food is delicious, even for kids. It's all self-service, but that didn't bother me. You can also sit outside, and there's a play area for the little ones.

Last week, we had the gourmet fish platter with various types of fish and fried potatoes. The fish was very tasty. Unfortunately, most of the fried potatoes underneath the fish were completely burnt on one side. We only noticed this during the meal. Other than that, we were very satisfied.

Gosch is always worth a visit. However, the behavior of some guests leaves much to be desired; they think they own the entire restaurant. What I experienced there yesterday was unbelievable. I've never experienced anything like it. They showed no consideration and were even rude.

The fish tasted very good. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes underneath the fish were black on one side. I pointed this out when the plates were cleared, but there was no response at all.

We usually enjoy going to Gosch, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food this time: the fried potatoes with the pan-fried fish were really bad, not crispy and had an indefinable taste, and the mustard sauce had a strange, sour flavor. The currywurst and fries weren't good either; the sausage wasn't cooked properly, and the fries were wobbly... The service staff at the counter could be friendlier; there were no smiles, and they didn't even thank us for the tip. Unfortunately, that was a poor performance...

Good Gosch restaurant with the usual offerings and plenty of seating inside and outside.

Im Sb-Restaurant (nicht: Imbiss um die Ecke) sitzt man draußen sehr schön, drinnen ist es düster und laut. Die raumbeherrschende Ausgabetheke für Speisen ist optisch nicht ansprechend, was über die Qualität der Speisen nur bedingt etwas aussagen mag, aber u.E. den Gesamteindruck mindert. Wir hatten nur kleinen Hunger und nahmen 2x Fischsuppe je 10 €, die wir draußen gegessen haben. Guter Geschmack, reichlich Fisch, Muscheln, Gemüseeinlage, großzügige Portion: wir waren sehr zufrieden. Das dazu gereichte Stück dunklen Brots, leider nur eins, war frisch und passte gut zur Fischsuppe. Der Blick auf die Teller anderer Gäste zeigte: Ordentliche Portionen, auch ansehnlich dekoriert. Preislich liegen die Essen bei 20-25 € und in dem Bereich findet man auch gute Fischrestaurants mit Bedienung. Fazit: Gosch ist nicht gerade billig, die Fischsuppe jedenfalls sehr gut und günstig und eine Empfehlung.

Just beautiful here! Casual and very pleasant atmosphere. It's easy to talk to other people while eating because it doesn't have the typical restaurant feel. The selection of food is very large, good wines.

Above post from March 2023 Addendum from March 31, 2025 We've been to Gosch again and have to say...it's not the same anymore. We find the self-service prices overpriced. You see a lot of people coming in, looking at the prices at the counter, and then leaving again. Chefs talking loudly don't help you feel comfortable either. That was an absolute no-go for me this time... The glass of wine for €4.50 (not the price) was the worst I've ever had in my life. We then skipped the food and went somewhere else. Conclusion: We can get better for these prices and in a more relaxed atmosphere!

We ordered a fine fish platter, a classic in itself. Unfortunately, our dish was missing salt and pepper. A real shame. It's a self-service restaurant, so service is a side effect. It's interesting to have the option to add a tip to the bill when paying. I would have liked to have seen that in other restaurants where service actively assists guests. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment for us.

Wir sind alle Jahre im Sommer und im Winter Gäste in Ihrem Haus in Bansin zum Abendessen. Bis zum heutigen Tag konnten wir mit guten Gewissen Ihr Haus ohne Bedenken weiterempfehlen. Was Sie jedoch mit dem Gericht, gebratene .Garnelen mit Ofengemüse, anbieten ist eine Zumutung. Garnelen ok, Ofengemüse ist der Hammer, gedünstete grobe Möhren, ein kl.Stück rote Zwiebel , das war es auch.!!! Weder mediterran noch Kräuter oder andere Geschmacksträger konnten wir feststellen. Geschweige denn Petersilie. In Ihrer früheren Speisekarte nannte sich das Gericht noch mediterranes Gemüse. Es war leider so , das Gericht war fast ungenießbar, und bis auf die Garnelen so auch bei Ihrem Personal bemängelt. Mit Verlaub, hier ist nicht nur ein qualitatives Problem sonder auch preisliches im Vergleich zum anderen Gericht gegrillte Garnelen… Vielleicht sollten Sie mal mit Ihrem Personal reden wie man hier Abhilfe schaffen kann. See and be seen, like everywhere at Gosch! But also as delicious as everywhere at Gosch! Price/performance: just OK.

We've been coming to Bansin for our May vacation for years and had always looked forward to a visit to Gosch. This time, unfortunately, we were completely disappointed. On May 27, 2025, at around 6:30 p.m., the restaurant was busy but not full. My wife had Gosch-style fried herring, and I ordered wolffish. The fried herring was completely dry under a pile of onion rings. The side dish was supposed to be fried potatoes, but it was actually roughly chopped, fried boiled potatoes. Flavorless; they should have mixed the pile of onions into the potatoes and fried them. Regarding the wolffish fillet: it was probably grilled. I've never been served such dry, overcooked fish. The underside was partially blackened. The "fried boiled potatoes" were the same as described above. The tartar sauce served with it was almost runny and lacked flavor. The wait staff asked if I didn't like the food and if I should complain to the grill. Sorry, in a Gosch Sylt fish restaurant, such dishes shouldn't be served over the counter. If they do, then trust is lost. Our conclusion: never again Gosch Bansin. Luckily, there are other fish restaurants.

When I informed the manager, she said she needed to get some complaint-handling training. Her opinion is important, but she doesn't listen to customers, and well, she's just not customer-oriented. Wine and coffee, carelessly shoved onto the table as compensation...

A friend of ours came to get some buns. Well, unfortunately it wasn't much. The bun was probably from yesterday, the fish had no taste, more onion than fish, and the sauce ruined the whole thing. The service should also try harder. I know it's not easy, I also work in a restaurant.

We were in Bansin today and had the fried fish in a bun within seconds. The fish appeared to have been deep-fried beforehand. We got it cold in a soggy bun with remulade. It tasted disgusting. I think this place only survives because of its name. The quality of the food is abysmally poor.

Gestern Abend bei Gosch Bansin gegessen. Mein Mann hatte Backfisch mit Bratkartoffeln, ich Zander mit Bratkartoffeln. War alles total geschmacklos, die Bratkartoffeln erinnerten eher an Salzkartoffeln (ohne Salz). Das beste beim Zander waren die Garnelen die oben auf lagen. Für 38€ eine große Enttäuschung!! Vlt zahlt man hier nur noch den Namen und nicht mehr für leckeres Essen?
