Golgatha Biergarten in Berlin

The drinks were stale and the waiters were completely overwhelmed. I won't be back.

We were here to watch the cup final between Stuttgart and Bielefeld. Golgatha was even explicitly recommended on the VfB website. When we arrived, however, we were very surprised to see that there were only two relatively small TVs in the entire outdoor area, mounted in very awkward positions on the wall, and that from most seats, you would have unfortunately been required to have binoculars with you. Yes, there was also a screen inside and a small TV by the bar. But the indoor area is really very small, and, logically, there was no room left. When the game was played on the "mini TVs" without sound at kickoff, and you could hardly hear any of the goals at all, we left Golgatha quite frustrated. I can't recommend the otherwise nice beer garden for watching football at all. It was a complete mystery to me why it was touted as one of THE venues. What a shame...

It was the DFB Cup final. It was clear that many people would want to spend the evening in the beer garden. And what happened? Two small screens, and they didn't even have sound. The beer garden advertises live Bundesliga coverage, but for a cup final, it wasn't possible to get larger screens or even have sound. Hundreds of people watched the final without sound. A huge disappointment.

Nice location and friendly staff, but the prices... €7.50 for a thin slice of Leberkäse in a piece of baguette? €6 for a Kolbasz? And €4.50!!!! for a Jägermeister shot? Sorry, but I'm not going to do that anymore...

Fresh salads and even sea bream in the best beer garden atmosphere

Nice, in a nice place. You only pay by card, and you learn this when you're already there obviously, which is difficult because it's in a park, so you have to walk. Nice food, more expensive than other similar places. We went at an off-peak time, and while it wasn't crowded, there was a long wait for the food. For this type of cuisine, it's not justified. And the potato salad is delicious, but it's like it was literally thrown from afar into the bowl... I would have liked it to have music. These are small emotions.

Nicely rested after a walk and a visit to the exhibition in the main Tempelhof building. Relaxed atmosphere. Excellent beer and snacks. Nice place.

Simply great. Delicious food, drinks, everything your heart desires. There is also ice cream and cake. You sit comfortably whether in the sun or in the shade. Top service.

This year everything is 1-2 euros more expensive, €7.50 for a measly slice of meatloaf! 8.50€ for a small piece of turkey with a bit of potato salad, you then have to shell out 14 euros per person, pick it up and bring it back yourself, sorry, we're out of there. If success means arbitrarily increasing prices, then you have to expect that you will scare away regular guests. I'll still go there for a beer, but I'll forego food. Neither labor costs, energy costs nor food prices have increased since last year, so what justifies this increase?

Update: The store is trying to have unpleasant reviews deleted, which in retrospect explains the good overall rating for me. Overpriced, uncomfortable, annoying payment system and what I wanted to eat was out. The staff was nice, but that's not enough - never again.

Beautiful beer garden with a relaxed atmosphere in the middle of the park - ideal for a sunny afternoon or mild summer evening. The drink selection is solid and the location is unbeatable. The food was okay, but not a highlight – rather moderately good. If you come for the mood and the ambience, you will definitely get your money's worth here. Absolutely recommended for a cold beer in good company!

Drinks service is incredibly fast... unfortunately the two at the grill shine with complete incompetence... they forget to order, they say you will be called after ordering and after 20 minutes you are asked if you would like to order something (I was standing right next to them Stood the whole time)… don't know what other salads they have…. I see this problem every year... perhaps training the grill staff in customer service would be necessary again?

Cozy location on Kreuzberg. Unfortunately the price is on the higher end for the area. Otherwise there is a very large selection of different dishes and drinks, both vegetarian and with meat.

I have rarely eaten worse. On the last day before the end of the season there was only a small selection, so bratwurst with potato salad. Bratwurst partially grilled black, totally dry, stuck in an old dry piece of white bread. The potato salad went like this. And all of this for a whopping 11.50 euros.

Beautiful tavern style, lots of places to relax with friends and a barbecue bar to nibble sausages. I recommend the potato salad and hummus!

Hmm - in short: there are far nicer beer gardens in Berlin. Choice of food was limited and the salads were ok, but not better. It was rather empty - and we had to wait a while for a few sausages - that could certainly be done more efficiently (5 p.m. is certainly not off-peak time either). Didn't “flash” us - hence a decent 3 stars.

It was 2 years ago, but we didn't like it. The vibe was sleepy chill. Young parents with babies and kids seem to congregate here. Most tables had signs saying they're reserved. It felt like an odd vibe. Babies took a stroll wherever, going into the restaurant, getting in the way of the servers, with parents not to be seen or didn't care because they were so involved in their conversations. They were okay with their kids throwing the biergarten's rocks onto the stairs and things or were not paying attention to their offspring that they cared. It was a very weird vibe. Go here if you have a baby, toddler, or very young kids. Beer was okay, person working there was very nice, it was pretty empty when we were there, odd, narrow spacing. Yeah, odd vibe. We didn't feel comfortable, so we left before finishing our beer. It felt like it was a place exclusively for young parents with small children or babies. Crawling around, stumbling about with parents carelessly in their own world. Very weird. Tired and depressing vibe.

All in all an interesting place, very well attended which again speaks for the location. The staff is very friendly and you should remember that ONLY CARD PAYMENT is accepted and NO cash. For my part, I can recommend the location.

A small hidden beer garden on the "Kreuzberg". It was our first time here and we had trouble finding it. Just a small sign directly at a park entrance on Katzbachstraße, additional signs would be attached here in the park. Otherwise a beer garden with mostly benches, most of which are in the sun. Of course, there are also a few comfortable places with backrests and cushions in the shade, but you should come in good time for this. It is self-service here and the selection of drinks and food is sufficient. In my opinion, the prices are a bit too high for this beer garden. Payments are only made by card here. There are two bus lines that take you almost to the door, which is advisable because parking spaces are really scarce here!!

A great place to go and hangout with friends. The seat layout was a bit crowded and the menu doesn’t have much choices but that doesn’t ruin the place. Still the ambience was nice and there were options on menu for anyone to choose.

I was on busy Saturday here was everything amazing, I love the team that work here very nice and friendly guys but the potatoe salad was not that good!

Not suitable for company parties, staff are forgetful, even if you give them a piece of paper, they can't manage to get everything completely ready. There is no collective bill, my boss had to go to the bar to pay for every beer. That was extremely annoying. I hereby give back the trouble I had because of you. Never again Golgotha.

It is often said that guests have problems finding this location, but I find it difficult to explain this.

Was there for the German European Championship game... of course it was super full. But you really have a variety of options to get drinks... it was really well organized. Bratwurst from the grill took longer... but it was really tasty. The men's toilet also worked great... but with so many people I have no idea why that was actually the case :)

It's a little strange that there is no Berlin beer here of all places and instead you only get Bavarian beer without any alternative. You can't say anything about the service, because there is simply no service, just self-service. So unfortunately only recognition for the ambience - a shame!

Such a beautiful beer garden, unfortunately the employees at the bar just ruined our day. We ordered 4 beers, but there was a misunderstanding with the order and we got 2. No matter, I then said I would like 2 more beers. Then I was attacked as if it was my fault that she took her order incorrectly. The tone and facial expression didn't work at all. Dealing with us was truly one of the worst experiences I have had. A person like that just needs to do another job if they're so frustrated with guests.

Was there at noon on Saturday and almost had the place to myself. It is a bit hard to find but once you are there you will not want to leave.

Located in a beautiful park. Though it’s a bit small and tables are close together, making stroller navigation tricky, the cozy couches are a nice touch. The food selection is very good, especially the chili sausage, which is a rare find in Berlin beer gardens.
