We came for a spontaneous visit and were completely thrilled. The service was very nice and friendly. The waiting times for drinks and food were short. Both the starter and the main courses not only looked great, but also tasted delicious. We were definitely not there for the last time.

We felt very comfortable. The service staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and the rooms were very inviting. We'd love to come back!

Went to Golden Horn Essen today as a family with 2 children Thanks again for the hospitality. The food was unusually delicious, I have never eaten meat so deliciously before. Today we were in the Golden Horn for the first time. There's nothing to complain about about the service or the food. My voucher was almost a year old, no problem redeeming it. Lamb fillet, rump steak and saddle of veal, all prepared to perfection.

Delicious food in a really nice restaurant. However, both the room temperature and the ambience were too cold. The food came quickly, and the aperitif hadn't even been finished. Little things were missing, such as sugar and biscuits with the espresso to round everything off.

Schöner Abend mit gutem Essen und freundlichen Service. Die Tische waren schön eingedeckt mit weißen Tischdecken, Gläsern und Deko. Der freundliche Kellner brachte zügig die Karte und fragte nach Getränken. Nachfragen wurden kompetent beantwortet und Empfehlungen gegeben. Getränke und Vorspeisen wurden schnell serviert und waren sehr gut. Die Steaks kamen nach angemessener und waren Inclusive der Beilagen heiß und auf den Punkt. Der vom Kellner empfohlene Nachtisch war top. Preis/Leistung stimmt. Punktabzug einzig wegen der wirklich zu hellen und damit ungemütlichen Tischbeleuchtung (allerdings haben wir uns- mit Erlaubnis des Kellners) durch losdrehen der Glühbirne geholfen.

The service left a lot to be desired - the previous owners were much more professional. The staff was unfriendly and not very competent; the waiters had difficulty carrying the plates safely. We ordered the special, but the dish was so greasy that the oil splattered on the table and on our clothes. Shortly after opening, the toilets were in an unhygienic condition, which left a poor overall impression. The food was okay, but overall the visit was very disappointing. I wouldn't go there again and can't recommend it.

Absolut frisch zubereitete Speisen, geschmacklich sehr gut, freundlicher Service. Dies ist ein Restaurant, welches wir garantiert wieder aufsuchen werden. Die Portionen sind wirklich sehr gut. Ich hatte ein original Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalb, die Panade war schön flockig.

Five stars all around. They have a simple menu that makes beef the main star throughout. The best starter for us was the carpaccio and my lamb loin was flawless as a main.

Die Steaks sind mega perfekt. Auch die Beilagen waren mega lecker und liebevoll angerichtet. Sehr freundliche Bedienung.

Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for the starters, which meant the main course wasn't served until about 2 hours after arrival. We all only had 1 drink as the waiters/resses didn't make sure we were provided with drinks while we waited. When we asked how long it would take until we were served the main course, the waitress gave an impossible response. Instead of apologizing and asking for patience, she dismissed the complaint and said that it was normal for time to pass between the starter and the main course. Of course we know that, but you don't have to wait an hour for an appetizer. This young lady's tone made us even more upset and we left the restaurant full but upset. The food was good, but due to the lack of service and the long waiting time we won't be coming back.

Absolutely thrilled! The restaurant impresses across the board – from the atmosphere to the service to the food. The meat in particular was an absolute highlight: perfectly cooked, tender and full of flavor. You can immediately tell that the highest quality ingredients are used here. A culinary experience that I can highly recommend to any meat lover. We'll definitely be back!

Since there was a large crowd at the time of our visit, we had the feeling that the service staff and the kitchen were overwhelmed. Between the individual courses, starter and main course, there was a wait of over 60 minutes. Repeated questions were answered with “that would be done”. Finally we wanted to enjoy a coffee. Unfortunately we were told that the coffee machine was broken. 🤷‍♂️ There were seven of us and we are a little more than disappointed. As to whether there is a second way to convince us otherwise, I have to say no.

Unfortunately the reservation was not in the restaurant's system, so a visit was not possible, hence no review.

We were there with a slightly larger group on a Friday evening. The first thing we noticed or were told that day was that we couldn't pay by card. For me this is an absurdity these days. We placed the orders around 6:45 p.m. Full of anticipation, the appetizers we ordered arrived around 7:30 p.m. However, things didn't really go any further after that. After several requests, the food came around 9:30 p.m. Not all of the food came. Some got the full main course, others just the side dishes (fries), others just the steak. One person still hadn't had their meal at around 10 p.m., and some of us had already finished eating. The starters tasted great, as did the main courses, but the portions were a bit too small for the price. Fries were very hard and fried for too long. All in all, we left the store very dissatisfied and as a larger group (around 20 people) we will not eat there again.

We ate in this restaurant for the first time on Sunday and were very satisfied! The service, the food and the atmosphere were really top. We really enjoyed the starter (shrimp pan) and the rump steak was ideally prepared. The restaurant has definitely gained three new regulars.

We were in the Golden Horn last weekend with a large group of 20 people and were not disappointed. Eren's communication beforehand and on the evening itself was excellent. Even slightly longer waiting times were skillfully bridged and the atmosphere was very good. The restaurant is furnished very lovingly and with an eye for detail. The food is of a very high quality and we are guaranteed to come back as a group or individually. Thank you for this lovely evening!

The three of us were there shortly after it opened. My two friends' food was relatively good - especially the steak, which I can recommend. Unfortunately, my dish was a disappointment: I ordered a veal schnitzel that was inedible - hard, dark and very unpleasant in taste. When I asked the waitress about it, she showed no understanding or accommodation. Instead of trying to find a solution, she simply took my plate away without offering a refund or other compensation. I only took a bite of the meat, but the price was still ignored. Unfortunately the service was zero. The food here is very different - steak is recommended, but unfortunately I can't rate it more positively

First of all, the most important thing is that the quality and taste of the food was very good. We understand that it is difficult to find qualified personnel, but then the support staff should be trained before they are deployed. The bad smell in the toilets can certainly be improved by water in the drains. The prices on the homepage differ significantly from the current menu. But we would be happy to dine at the Golden Horn again.

We have been there three times now and are very satisfied with the atmosphere and food. However, there are little things that I noticed. Namely, when it opens at 5 p.m., at around 6:30 p.m. there is no toilet paper in any toilet and the buckets are almost overflowing with garbage. So I think that the toilets are not checked or even cleaned beforehand. The toilets weren't dirty but still had a strange feeling. And the flowers on the table should always be fresh and not with hanging heads. Then it's better not to have flowers.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner in a stylish atmosphere and experienced attentive service. We'll be happy to come back if we can find a parking space in the Althoff district :-). I had high expectations of this restaurant based on recommendations and good reviews. Unfortunately, perhaps because of this, I was a bit disappointed. Right at the beginning we were informed that three dishes could not be selected because ingredients were missing. Most of the time we were served quickly and very friendly. Once we had to wait longer for drinks, and the food also took a little too long for an almost empty restaurant. Overall, the food was absolutely fine, but unfortunately not more than that. I didn't like the goat cheese in the starter, the consistency was strange. Steak was delicious, fries too. The little chocolate cake for dessert looked like it had been thawed after freezer burn. Not nice to look at - the taste has room for improvement. The prices in the Golden Horn are in the lower midfield. We had a nice evening, but unfortunately it will not go down as a highlight in our personal restaurant history.

Das Fleisch war auf den Punkt gebraten, die Beilagen genial, nichts aus der "Fertigtüte" und somit das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ausgezeichnet. Was neben der aufmerksamen Bedienung noch hervorzuheben ist: die gemütliche Einrichtung und ruhige Atmosphäre. Es ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Der Service war sehr freundlich. Das Essen war köstlich. Wir hatten das Lammfilet und den Warmen Feta-Käse. Gerne wieder.

Great restaurant with great food.

Actually everything is very good. The only caveat: The side salad had probably been prepared too early because the lettuce leaves already looked slightly limp. It's due to the summer weather. Everything else was very tasty. A small card scores points for me. This signals fresh preparation. The restaurant itself has style and is located in the historic Althoffblock, which will soon be listed. Bright white tablecloths always get a plus point from me. The staff is very friendly - as it should be.

Meine Frau und ich waren gestern zum Geburtstagsessen dort. Bei der Reservierung hatte ich angegeben, dass es ein Geburtstagsessen sein wird und es wurde extra ein Geburtstags-Tisch hergerichtet, der wirklich schön aussah. Der Service begann schon direkt an der Tür mit einer freundlichen Begrüßung und einer anschließenden Begleitung zum Tisch. Der Service am gesamten Abend war einfach Mega. Dann kam das Essen und was soll ich sagen? Einfach nur Lecker !!!! Meine Frau hatte das Lachsfilet mit Reis und Pfannengemüse und sie war begeistert. Ich hatte das Rumpsteaks mit Pommes und Salat und war genauso begeistert. Zum Abschluss noch ein Dessert und auch der war Mega. Riesen Kompliment an die Küche. Wir bedanken uns für den sehr schönen Abend und wir kommen ganz bestimmt nochmal zu Euch.

My wife and I went there for a birthday dinner yesterday. When I made the reservation I had stated that it would be a birthday dinner and a birthday table was specially set up which looked really nice. The service began right at the door with a friendly greeting and subsequent escort to the table. The service throughout the evening was simply great. Then the food came and what can I say? Simply delicious!!!! My wife had the salmon fillet with rice and stir-fried vegetables and she loved it. I had the rump steak with fries and salad and was just as impressed. Finally, a dessert and that was great too. Huge compliment to the kitchen. We would like to thank you for a very nice evening and we will definitely come to you again.

We “found out” about the Golden Horn Restaurant through the Neotaste discount portal. Arriving by car is possible, but due to the inner-city location the parking situation is rather difficult, but that was to be expected. Arrival is also possible by train via the Möllerbrücke stop, then a short walk of 5-10 minutes. The restaurant was well filled, the atmosphere was very clean and decorated in light colors. The menu is short but good. Pricing is also okay. As a starter, bread with four different dips, but not standard here (mayo, aioli, etc.). It's more of a homemade creation with a pesto dip, peppers, beetroot and something like carrots (we couldn't say exactly, but it was delicious). My rump steak with a side salad was really tasty and tender. Good fries too. My wife had the salmon fillet. In her opinion, the fish should have been a little more glassy, ​​but of course it's entirely a matter of taste. The staff was also very friendly and asked how we were doing at regular intervals, so we felt we were in good hands.

Very nice shop with good food. The tomato soup tasted great, but lacked a bit of freshness. The bruscetta was ok. The main courses were absolutely top. The meat (lamb and veal saddle) was of great quality and cooked to perfection, as were the vegetables. The sauces, a dream. A little tip: prepare the espresso with a little less water 😉 All in all 4.5 stars. We'd love to come back.

Preislich top und das Essen natürlich super, den kindern hat es besonders gut geschmeckt. 4x Gerichte bestellt und alle waren satt. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟+ 👍 Das meist Hausgemachte hat uns sehr gefallen. (Carpaccio als Vorspeise empfehlenswert und als Nachspeise Schokosuffle)

Wie auch vor Ort bereits gesagt... gerne nochmal hier. Wir waren begeistert. Und kommen gerne wieder. Wir sind sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend bedient worden und keineswegs aufdringlich. Das Essen war absolut lecker. Ich hatte Gemüsecurry in Kokosmilch, zuvor hausgemachte und unglaublich köstliche Dips die hausgemacht waren. Dabei Baguette. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut gerechtfertigt, obgleich ich finde das das Essen nicht teuer war. Zb. mein Curry mit Butterreis 13,90€. Ein Dessert durfte nicht fehlen. Eis, Pannacotta und Schokotörtchen mit Vanille...ein Traum. Vielen lieben Dank an das freundliche Team.

The table was booked for 6:30 p.m. and the food arrived at 8:45 p.m. Sorry golden horn but that is unacceptable. It doesn't make it any better that the chef said that he had to finish all the orders outside the house first. Now to eat...I ordered risotto with zucchini. What arrived to me was almost raw rice...I didn't taste or see any of the zucchini. I found that very weak, especially considering the prices. The others in the group had ordered meat, from schnitzel to steak. The opinions about it were all very positive. Overall, I can say that this visit was disappointing for me and I will not eat there again.

Das Restaurant „Romantic“ ist gemütlich. Sehr leckere, mit Liebe zubereitete Gerichte. Formeller Service, Lächeln, Aufmerksamkeit und Respekt. Der Tisch ist schön und sauber. Es ist schön, immer wieder zurückzukommen.

I’ve been into this Restaurant a few times already, and I could honestly say that they have the best steak in town. Price: I would always order their Rib Eye steak - usually served with Sea Salt, and Pepper. You would also get a free salad, and baguettes as an appetiser. Best part is, it costs only between 30-40 Euro, depending on the size of the steak you ordered. Taste: I tried going for both Medium well, and well-done - it always comes out perfectly. Their well-done steak is not too dry, and is still pink to brown on the inside. Service: Their waiters/waitresses are really friendly, and they pay attention to what you’re ordering. They also make sure that everything was according to your liking. Atmosphere: On most of the days that I’ve been here, it’s “quiet”. The dining area is also well-lighted (not too dark, not too bright). Highly recommended. PS: Finding a parking space could be very challenging.

My friend got champagne and a bedside plate on the house for his birthday. The very nice waiter also found me somewhere nearby where I could print tickets. Food very tasty!! A very nicely decorated restaurant. The staff tried very hard, but didn't seem very well coordinated. There was definitely still room for improvement here. There were a few mistakes when taking the starters, but the taste was okay. The dessert was also received incorrectly and unfortunately was not convincing. The main course (steak and chicken) was really very good! We will definitely give the restaurant another chance and hope to be able to give an improvement rating.

The Golden Horn in Dortmund impresses with excellent Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. The stylish and cozy ambience combines traditional and modern elements, making the restaurant particularly inviting. The dishes, from fresh meze to perfectly cooked lamb chops, are excellent in taste. The desserts, especially the baklava, are also a delight. The service is attentive and friendly, which completes the dining experience. The Golden Horn is fairly priced and offers good value for money. Definitely worth a visit!

Am 11. Mai2024 waren wir mal wieder im Golden Horn.; ein ansprechend modern eingerichtetes Restaurant mit erstklassigem, aufmerksamen Service. Da die Portionen dort immer reichlich bemessen sind, haben wir auf Vorspeisen verzichtet. Ich hatte Lammrücken, mit einer mediterranen Rotwein-Sauce dazu Rosmarinkartoffeln und Bohnen (28,90 €): sehr gut gegrilltes, zartes Fleisch mit rosigem Kern und einer sehr delikaten Rotwein-Sauce, von der auch nichts auf dem Teller übrig blieb. Die Rosmarinkartoffeln waren frisch zubereitet. Das habe ich schon in einem italienischen Restaurant anders erlebt, dort bekam ich aufgewärmte Kartoffeln, die ja längst nicht mehr so gut schmecken wie frische. Mein Mann hatte sich für das Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalbsrücken, mit Wildpreiselbeeren dazu Pommes und Beilagensalat entschieden (24,90 €) und ich durfte das Schnitzel probieren: schmackhaft, in Butterschmalz gebraten - richtig lecker. Der Beilagensalat hat es leider nicht auf das Foto geschafft. Nach dem Essen durften wir noch jeder "einen Absacker" wählen: ich nahm Limoncello und mein Mann einen Ouzo. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis empfinde ich als sehr fair, die Portionen sind gut bemessen, die Qualität spricht für sich und der Servicemitarbeiter war wirklich sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Good food doesn't have to be in the center of the city, I found this restaurant with the help of the TripAdvisor site, and I have to say it was a good find. The first impression is very positive, clean and elegant, service very friendly and nice, the menu is very clear and not overwhelming, but enough choice for everyone. Dan Kamm's food was very well prepared and seasoned to perfection, all four people were very satisfied and full. It was a good evening, next time I'll limit my search to Golden Horn Steakhouse Krzysztof

Sad, Otherwise I'll start with the positive, in which case I'll be too disappointed. A significant downgrade from the previous owner! He was always with the guest with all his heart. So now to our (“first”) visit: The restaurant was empty, the waitress was obviously trying hard, but a conversation about insurance (at a neighboring table) and other private topics was apparently more important than us. Original sound "I'm sorry that you missed out, that was an important conversation". After complaining about the Hugo (a lot of ice, the felt amount was two shot glasses full) It was refilled, taste wise only with water. And other little things like an unclean table or something similar were previously unthinkable. Otherwise the food was excellent. Emotionally one star, but because of the good cuisine three. PS: we also missed the bread as a starter.

really very good, you notice an improvement when eating. Impeccable presentation and flavor combination. friendly staff but above all delicious food, compliments to the chef.

Very good food at reasonable prices :) would love to come back

Beautiful restaurant, white tablecloths, elegant ambience, friendly staff. There were four of us. Starter: 2x salmon tartare, 1x beef tartare, 1x bruschetta. The bruschetta came 10' after the salmon tartare. So wait, wait, wait, even though the food is in front of you. Main course: 2x Golden Horn Special (GHS), 2x beef fillet. Again, more than 10' between serving the beef fillet and the GHS. Which meant that I ended up having to eat my GHS when the others had already finished. Which I absolutely don't like. My GHS should have been medium, but it was completely cooked through and unfortunately quite tough. Dessert continued in the same style: We had to wait about 15' for three desserts, the fourth came another 10' later and upon request, when the first three had already eaten. Conclusion: Very unfortunate. The restaurant is really nice, the staff is really nice, but the professionalism is quite lacking.

Very tasty food, steaks very good, vegetarian dishes also great. Prices are OK. 👍👍👍
