Ginza in Heidelberg

The location looks good, the service is OK, and the food itself tastes good, BUT: The prices for the size are simply horrendous compared to what you get, even when you factor in inflation, etc. Special rolls that cost more than €15 per roll and consist of 8 pieces are so short, small, and the pieces so narrow... and then there's not much fish in them. So a sushi roll that actually only contains fish + 1 ingredient should consist of at least 2/3 fish and 1/3 ingredient... and the fish should make up at least 1/2 of the roll. Here, the rolls are barely 1/5 fish; the rest is rice, other ingredients, etc., and then the rolls are tiny. We had several appetizers and 3 special rolls, 2 x 8 pieces, 1 x 5 pieces. We've already filled up with them at other restaurants, but here I left hungry, and that's after paying almost €60 for them. Two pictures for comparison: the delicious mango/salmon roll from Ginza, but unfortunately so small and starving that you'd die of hunger, and hardly any fish. In contrast, the sushi from a street vendor was much larger, with 2/3 fish (tuna). Sorry, but please adjust your sizes, then I'd be happy to come back, because it tasted delicious. Otherwise, you'd have to budget at least €80-100 just for food to feel full, and that's just too much. Plus, I want to eat sushi (fish) and not mostly other ingredients. P.S.: You can really leave out the smoke, or at least ask if you want it. Not all customers have to Instagram their food...

Closed due to staff shortages until at least November 1st. You'd have to stand in front of a locked door to find out. No info on Google, no website, no message on the answering machine. One can only hope the food is better, but once they're open...

The legendary Koza has finally opened in Heidelberg. (Until today, we always drove almost 70 km if we wanted to eat at Koza!... Which was always worth it.) It's just as delicious in Heidelberg as it is in the Palatinate region. Great food, a varied menu (sushi and hot dishes), and a great team. We're happy that you're (finally!!!) here, we'll recommend you to others, and we'll definitely be coming back more often.

Upon arrival at 7:20 p.m., we were assigned a table fairly quickly. We ordered food at 7:35 p.m. (one appetizer, four sushi dishes), were served the appetizer at 8:20 p.m. (tuna tartare... nothing earth-shattering), and then received the last dishes at exactly 9:04 p.m. All I can say is, six minutes later, I would have gotten up and left. Too much of a show, but that was it. We were treated to a smokescreen during the appetizer, and unfortunately, there was no show for the main course. Two guests who arrived after us got their food before us!? Service was unprofessional, and the kitchen was overwhelmed. Conclusion: Too long a wait, too much of a show, and that was it. Sushi was okay, but nothing special.

The food was delicious, the service attentive. All in all, a great evening.

We were there on Saturday, before the castle illuminations. The food was quite good, and the prices were reasonable. The service was friendly, and the location was cozy. It's worth it :-)

I love the vibe in this place. The food is delicious😋 and the presentation is Insta worthy. The staff is eye candy especially the Chef 😍 The wall art and decor is tasteful. The energy of this place is so we'll rounded it just makes the food taste better.

Sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet. Service sehr freundlich und aufmerksames. Einzig das Ambiente( Licht) könnte etwas dem Abend angepasst werden.Die große Lampe in der Küche könnte auch etwas an seiner Ausstrahlung in den Gastraum verstecken.Das natürlich nur als Anregung.Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.👍

Great food, people and art! Recently moved here and this is my favorite restaurant to visit! While they speak English they also help with my German! Highly recommend for those loving sushi!

Sehr leckeres Sushi! Wir waren sehr begeistert von der Qualität und der tollen Auswahl. Es ist für jeden was dabei auf der Karte. Der Service ist super und die location war sehr schön. Weiter so!

Das Bestellen über die Webseite ist super praktisch und die Abholung lief sehr gut ab. Die Sushi gehören zu den besten Sushi, die ich bisher gegessen habe. Vor allem die vegane Auswahl hat mich sehr positiv überrascht. Die verschiedenen Kombinationen sind abwechslungsreich und sehr sehr lecker (die Crunchy Rolls waren meine Favoriten)! Ich werde hier definitiv öfters bestellen.

Lange gewartet. Ambiente pseudo modern. Personal semi professionell Essen untere Mittwlklasse und dem Preis nicht gerecht. Dann on Top noch Hünchen gehabt das nicht durcherhitzt war. Kellner ist dann doch gut damit umgegangen, hat sich entschuldigt. Aber mein Restaurant ist es nicht

Wir haben zu viert einen Sushi-Kochkurs bei Kevin gemacht. Es war für uns als Anfänger wirklich ein ganz tolles Erlebnis und wir können es jedem, der Interesse daran hat, wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön und wir haben einen ganz individuellen privaten Kurs zu einem wirklich guten Preis erhalten, inklusive Verköstigung und Getränke. Wir wurden toll angeleitet und haben nun die Basics erlernt, um es dann hoffentlich zuhause öfters mal selbst zuzubereiten. Das Sushi war sehr lecker und wir durften unser restliches selbst zubereitetes Sushi dann auch mit nach Hause nehmen. Rundum ein sehr gelungenes Event ☺️

One of the best sushi restaurants I've been to. Great menu selection. Food presented in style and with showmanship. Flavours exploding and combinations that are morish. Sharing platter was delicious. Edamame beans for the win (slight addiction) Would recommend making a reservation.

Sehr lecker, sehr netter, souveräner Service! Aber: habe Wein bestellt und dachte, das wäre der Schluck, der angeboten wird um zu testen, ob der Wein schmeckt. War aber die Menge, die man für 3,50€ bekommt (Riesling, nichts Außergewöhnliches). Die Präsentation der Sushiplatte für 120€ war sehr eindrucksvoll (Trockeneis), aber doch mehr "Schein als Sein". Wirklich sehr lecker, aber Preis/Leistung stimmt nicht, zuviel Show.

Haben unsere Weihnachtsfeier im Ginza Restaurant Heidelberg gefeiert und waren begeistert von der großen Sushiplatte zum teilen. Kommen gerne wieder!

War sehr lecker. Wir hatten jeweils eine Pho sowie ein crunchyroll. Alles hat super geschmeckt.

Tolle Alternative in HD . Sind auf Anraten von Freunden hin u wurden absolut nicht enttäuscht. Wer Crunchy Sushi liebt ist hier bestens aufgehoben . Optisch toll serviert , flotter u aufmerksamer Service !!!! Keine riesige Halle , sondern mit wenigen Tischen sehr gutes Essen gezaubert .

Eigentlich schöne Einrichtung, leider sind viele Tische zu klein und zu dicht am Nachbartisch dran, diese Nähe ist nichts für einen gemütlichen Abend zu zweit, zumal es im Ginza sehr laut ist. Die Sushi waren okay, vietnamesisch habe ich schon deutlich besser gegessen.Wer Trinkgeld geben möchte sollte Bargeld dabei haben, da dies im Ginza nicht über die Kartenzahlung möglich ist. Völlig überteuerte Getränkekarte für dieses Restaurantniveau.

Really bad service. There were two couple guest When we come in the restaurant. After we did oder cooks began to prepare orders for take away. They started cooking our order in 40 minutes only after my complaint. For these time cooks prepared 5 orders take away. I don’t recommend this restaurant.

Amazing service, awesome presentation of the dishes, and great vegan and veggie options

Super nice service, lovely decor, all food very instagrammable. Bit of a mix of not-really japanese sushi, not really thai Pho soup etc. But all looks beautiful and is tasty.

Excellent price/quality. Food is tasty and well presented, service is kind, we actually saw the chef preparing the complete salmon in the kitchen so unbeatable freshness.

Dafür, dass es mein erstes Mal Sushi zu essen, war es sehr sehr lecker. Alles frisch & die Wartezeit war auch ok. Ambiente auch top. Das Ginger Lemon Getränk war super lecker haha

Die Einrichtung ist modern und stilvoll, alleine die schönen Bilder an den Wänden bedürfen einer Erwähnung! Der Service ist top professionell, schnell und freundlich. Die offene Küche vermittelt Transparenz und macht Spaß. Die Qualität des Sushi ist sehr gut und lecker war unser Abend oben drein! Hier kommen wir bald wieder!

Wahnsinnig lecker! Richtig gutes und frisches Sushi in verschiedenen Varianten. Das Ambiente ist toll und die Bedienungen sehr aufmerksam. Wer Sushi mag wird es dort lieben.
