Cavallino Bianco-Weisses Rössel in Heidelberg

My family and I did a day trip to the castle as most do. After which we wanted pizza for the kids , however , as we past by here we saw they had pizza and it looked like a nice mom and pop place. It was around 2-3pm not a lot of ppl were there. We ordered two pizzas and pasta carbonara. It was great , all the flavors and taste! Also we had the kids with us , is isn’t a kid kinda place but the owner and waiter took care of us and made us feel welcome. The owner/ cook even made us a little desert on the house. I highly recommend this place just for food alone, but also we have to support these places with good ppl.

I just ate there with my wife. The saltinbocca was phenomenal. Fresh, lightly grilled vegetables, lightly fried leaf spinach, and the meat with sage were simply perfect. I've had worse at Michelin-starred Italian restaurants. Excellent service, a long wait time. The price is completely reasonable. We'll be back.

The seating area with a view of the castle is comfortable. The pizza was good. The rest was a complete disaster. The young man who tries to serve the guests is running himself ragged and has no chance of countering the abysmal food. There were 12 of us and we waited 1.5 hours for our food. The lasagna was a disgrace and completely black. There was more shouting than cooking in the kitchen. If we come to Heidelberg again, we'll give this restaurant a wide berth.

Lunch at this restaurant after a city tour. The server was very pleasant and the food was excellent. Both risottos were delicious, as was the pizza. The kidneys were well-prepared. A restaurant highly recommended!

Hello everyone, I would wholeheartedly advise everyone to avoid this restaurant. Even though the restaurant and terrace are almost always empty, we had to wait over an hour for our food. During that time, the restaurant manager kept walking outside instead of preparing our food. A few regulars were served before us 😂 In the end, I had enough and left. The server (a young man with curly hair) apologized several times, even though he had nothing to do with it. A restaurant like the owner 👎

In einem nett eingerichteten Restaurant in geschichtlichem Gebäude gibt es solide italienische Kost. Leckere gefüllte Ravioli. Perfekter Espresso. Sehr netter Service.

So I advise everyone to avoid this place. First of all, the service is really bad, even though the place was very empty. And for 25 euros, as shown on the plate, you get a piece of salmon, some pseudo vegetables, and even half a potato. If you have to choose between this place and another, go to the other one; it's the better choice.

We ate well here - spaghetti with seafood, which was excellent and the price-performance ratio was also completely fine. It was very quick and our waiter was nice.

We had the spaghetti carbonara, lasagna, and tagliatelle with black truffle special. All three dishes were delicious. This was also the one restaurant we’ve been to on this trip where it wasn’t way too hot inside. However, they only take cash, which we weren’t aware of up front, so make sure to have cash on you.

We enjoyed fantastic meals and friendly fun staff. Excellent quality food and great staff and atmosphere!

Keine Empfehlung - extreme Wartezeit und kleine überteuerte Portion Ein Besuch mit der Familie zu sechs Personen hat uns leider sehr enttäuscht. Wir waren vor Jahren schon mal dort und hatten sehr guten Erinnerungen. Wahrscheinlich haben Besitzer Personal und Koch gewechselt. Dass man etwas warten muss, an einem Samstagabend selbstverständlich aber 1 Stunde und 45 Minuten , während andere Gäste schon mittlerweile wieder gegangen waren, die nach uns gekommen sind, war schon mehr als grenzwertig. Lachs und Dorade für über 25 € in einer Kindergrößen Portion stand in keinem Verhältnis. Sehr schade, wir würden hier nicht mehr hingehen also keine Empfehlung

The food is excellent and the products used are of high quality. The kitchen also reacts flexibly; upon request, a small “buffet” for four people was conjured up from the starter plate for two people.

We order a starter based on the daily special. Fifteen minutes later, we're told that this starter isn't available today. After over an hour, the main course arrived: spaghetti Bolognese and a salad. Unbelievable.

The food was of good quality and the atmosphere was well accompanied by Italian music. However, the tablecloths should be washed and dusted more often. (But it's quite bearable and knowing it makes up for it to some extent.) All in all a positive experience.

Can't confirm the negative reviews about the service. The young man was very friendly and accommodating. He gave us good tips for the old town.

The pizza is really more like a frozen pizza. Not justified for the price

The Cavallino Bianco restaurant presents high-quality, authentic Italian cuisine at its best. Anyone who values ​​quality, good food and friendly staff will be spoiled here. This was the most pleasant surprise of our visit to Heidelberg - REALLY tasty food. The Bolognese was better than anything we had had in Italy and the pizza equally great. Service was pleasant and attentive. We think this place was VASTLY underrated!

We were there spontaneously. The shop was empty except for two tables. We both ordered steak medium, we waited over an hour for a piece of meat and some vegetables. A hefty price for not even 1 potato and a handful of vegetables. Unfortunately both steaks were well done and tough. We complained. The service was friendly and again we waited over 20 minutes. Already annoyed, we ate the food. This time the steak was ok, nothing more and nothing less. Unfortunately for us the first and last time.

Completely overwhelmed staff, kept forgetting to type things. First there were two drinks missing, then later, when everyone got their food, they also typed a pizza wrong and forgot one. The pizza is more like a frozen pizza, the pasta was ok. When paying then the same game, completely overwhelmed, constantly giving out the wrong money and card payments are only possible from €30 onwards.

The food, being generous, is from a €10 menu and each dish is worth more than €20 so the quality should improve a lot. An Italian restaurant with frozen pizza? One disappointment after another... In the same way the attention was terrible, clearly due to the inexperience of the 2 chambers but despite making mistakes they did not have any details. The mistake was that they bring us the food and a plate was missing, so that 3 of us had to eat to avoid getting cold and one, the fourth of those who went, had to wait almost 20 minutes to be able to have dinner. .. They were already finishing their meal and the waiter comes to us with 2 plates and they were obviously from the other table that was in the place still without dinner (we were only 2 tables in the whole place...). We had to tell him. They also bundled 3 handmade desserts that happen to only be made in the winter. Look, Tiramisu is only for winter 😓 Finally we go to pay and he doesn't want to charge us by card when the date was perfectly visible on the bar, he invented that there is no Internet... And that next to us we had a cashier (where they charge foreigners a commission that . ..). Between us we managed to get the money together but we were broke for the whole trip… Nothing, an experience that is not recommended at all.

The two of us were there last night and had an absolutely wonderful evening in an Italian atmosphere. We had bruschetta, Nice salad and two delicious, freshly made pasta dishes and definitely left us full. The price is absolutely tailored to the quality of the food and the location. We sat completely quietly on Karlsplatz and had the best view of the castle.

In my opinion a “tourist place” We had lasagna and pasta with porcini mushrooms. The seasoning of the dishes was okay. In my opinion, the onions on the pasta were cut too large. The staff is rather overwhelmed and not very communicative with each other. The Boss yells at her employees.

Wir waren in den letzten Jahren dutzende Male hier zu Gast. Die Lage am Karlsplatz ist einzigartig und im Vergleich zu anderen Plätzen in der Altstadt schön ruhig. Die Preise sind seit jeher moderat, haben allerdings zur Qualität des Essens gepasst. Leider muss ich jedoch sagen, dass die Qualität des Essen massiv abgenommen hat. Inzwischen erhält man hier durchgängig Convenience Food. Bei der Preisklasse absolut nicht hinnehmbar. Die Entwicklung ist sehr schade.

Sehr gutes Essen und tolles Ambiente. Hier bekommt man das beste italienische Essen in Heidelberg. Die Köchin ist einfach unglaublich talentiert. Insbesondere die Pizza hier ist unschlagbar. Der Service ist freundlich und kompetent und zum Glück nicht arrogant und hektisch wie in vielen anderen italienischen Restaurants.

Don't recommend. The location is beautiful, service ok. But the food unbelievable overpriced... the food quality is alright. Not great, but ok... I've ordered a cheese plate for nearly 16 euros and a tomato soup (forgot the price). Well, that's what a 16 euro cheese plate looks like (plate on the left). I'm usually not a picky person, but I was really disappointed.

Heerlijke tagliatelle gegeten, goed restaurant Tweede dag nog eens terug , anti pasta, eend en turamisu met limoncello . Dan hoor ik dat ze ook nog lever van de grill hebben, dus moet ik nog eens terug. Overheerlijk, zeer fijne bediening erg vriendelijk

Das Restaurant ist innen sehr schön, die Außen Bestuhlung ist auch in Ordnung. Es ist ein italienisches Restaurant mit der üblichen Pizza Karte und den sonstigen teuren Fleisch und Fischgerichten. Leider ist die Pizza rein optisch nicht von einer Tiefkühlpizza zu unterscheiden. Kein besonderer Teig, kein knuspriger Rand und überhaupt kleiner als ein normaler Teller. Der Beilagensalat für sieben Euro ist total überteuert. Insgesamt muss man aber zum Ausgleich jedoch sagen, dass sowohl die Pizza als auch der Salat gut geschmeckt haben. Das Personal war sehr bemüht und sehr nett.

Sehr leckeres Essen, Karamelle mit Steinpilzen (gefüllte Pasta) waren extrem lecker. Habe selten so gut italienisch gegessen. Das Kellner-Team war sehr höflich und zuvorkommend und die Chefin ist sehr nett. Immer wieder gerne, wenn wir wieder in HD sind.
