The service and the ambience are great but I am extremely disappointed with the food. I got bagged dumplings and a completely dry goose leg. The sauces are very thin and remind me of the powder sauces that you can mix. My companions' food was no better. The fried potatoes have a raw aftertaste and the sliced ​​meat is also dry.

My whole family and we have been guests here since the beginning. The Gilden Brauhaus is a very nice place to forget about everyday life for a bit. Typical brewery. Unfortunately, the food was average. Fries were not cooked through, schnitzel from the deep fryer. Salad with brown spots and ready-made sauce. The service was very friendly and also wanted to have the fries fried. For almost 20 euros I can expect something different.

The interior is in the style of a very cozy, rustic Cologne inn, I don't want to call it a "pub". I ate a rump steak Braumeister style (No. 42 on the menu from 07/2024) and haven't eaten something like that in ages. Many thanks to the team! Another note: The restaurant is run by a Croatian family and “Julischka” can be recommended as the house specialty when it comes to schnapps.

The steaks are prepared as requested. The rest of the map is also remarkable. So far I've always enjoyed it there and I eat here regularly. There are adjusted portions for children and seniors. We always go to Gilden when we are in Cologne. The food is consistently excellent, the service is quick and very friendly. Somehow you always feel so welcome.

We have rarely experienced such a well-run restaurant. Starting with the nice and courteous service, through to the good food Right up to the unbeatable price-performance ratio. Our 3 underage children were also treated like guests, and at the end we each received an ice cream 🍦 and a lollipop at the house's expense. When we are back in Cologne/Mühlheim we will definitely come back. Simply great

I come here quite often and so far I have always been very satisfied. But today (September 5th) we were not satisfied. The service outside (to the right of the door) was terrible. We often had to ask for beer inside even though nothing was overcrowded. And for one of us, the hunter's sauce was watery and there was no response to the complaint. And in the end, despite a generous bill and a good tip, there was no schnapps on the house as usual.

Delicious, beautiful, friendly - the onion soup is a must!!! It's just so delicious... Of course, it's prepared correctly: let the onion caramelize, let it simmer longer and, of course, bake it on the toaster on top with lots of cheese. The cordon bleu was also delicious and packed full of cheese.

We were four Asians and the service towards us was a disaster. We weren't greeted properly, weren't even paid attention to when we wanted to order, pay, etc. We weren't looked in the eye and were mostly ignored. Completely rude and incompetent behavior. I haven't seen anything so racist in a long time. Just because we weren't old and white doesn't mean we have to be treated differently!

On Saturday evening we had dinner with 4 people at the Gilden Brauhaus and were thrilled by the very good cuisine, the friendly service and the nice ambience. Our Köbe's recommendation for food (twice fish with chanterelles was an unusual and delicious recommendation) and wine with low acidity (also available in the brewery 😉) was excellent. We were definitely not there for the last time. Thanks for the lovely evening!

Hearty food at reasonable prices in this quaint brewery. Perfect for guests of the Best Plaza Hotel right next door and for fans of hearty cuisine. Schnitzel, knuckles, but also classic Cologne specialties. Very fast and attentive service. You can't go wrong here!

We were there with my son on Friday, August 9th, 2024, at around 9 p.m. We have been happy customers for 21 years and our last visit was disappointing. The staff wasn't particularly friendly that evening, perhaps because it was already late. We immediately noticed that the prices had increased significantly, but the quality of the food served was not good. Fried potatoes were not fresh, cut into large pieces and not hot. The lettuce was limp and not crisp, some leaves were spoiled. The portions of turkey steak and Gordon Bleu were too small for the price of 22 euros. The waitress responded to my complaint by protesting that everything was fresh. We paid €49.10 for two dishes and two drinks. In addition, they always brought us “Yulichka” liqueur as a farewell, which unfortunately was not the case last night. This is the first time we didn't leave a tip and were so disappointed and had to write this negative review because it's almost 4am now and I have the nausea and heartburn all the time. Luckily my son is doing well. Maybe we were just unlucky and the cook just didn't feel like making fresh salad or frying fresh potatoes that evening. It doesn't give us much joy to write all this. Therefore, unfortunately we will not come here again.

One star deducted from the omelet because it was little to no seasoned and neither were the chanterelles in the omelette. It's better to prepare the omelet and chanterelles separately and then serve them together on a plate with nice, crispy fried potatoes. Unfortunately there are also not enough parking spaces. I ordered a Jägerschnitzel, which was already fried, but it was served cold, probably slightly warmed in the microwave, hard as a shoe sole and no taste. The sauce, which should have had mushroom flavors, was made with Maggi products and the taste was inedible. I ate very badly, I won't come back. I can't recommend it.

A really quaint, typical Cologne restaurant. The employees are very friendly and always have a funny saying. The food is great. I've been there several times. There are changing daily specials, a lunch menu and an extensive menu. The portions are very generous. I always only manage the smaller portion because that is what is offered. I'm excited. The only drawback: there are few parking spaces available as there is a hotel next door.

Location OK, service rude, stressed, hectic and impatient. Not even a basket of bread (where everyone else got it) upon request a basket with three pieces of stale bread (and there were five of us). Food OK, our salmon not exceptional. But because of the poor service I'll never come back

The three of us ate and with Kölsch we ended up with around €75. The food is good. The schnitzels were juicy and the mushrooms in the hunter's sauce were fresh. The beer tasted good, even though we, as people from Hamburg, prefer to drink Pilsner. So keep it up and we'll be back.

ich kann nicht verstehen, wieso gute Bewertungen über dieses Brauhaus geschrieben werden. Die Saucen sind Fertigsaucen, Einheitsbrei. Die Jägersauce sind Pfifferlinge aus der Dose mit brauner Mehlschwitze ohne Geschmack. Die Championssauce sind Champions mit weiße Mehlschwitze ohne Geschmack. Die Qualität des Kellners lässt zu wünschen übrig, nachdem wir uns über die Saucen beschwert haben, sagte der Kellner nur ja, ja. Kein Wort der Entschuldigung, kein Wort der Möglichkeit der Besserung, kein Wort über Minderung des Rechnungsbetrages. Er diskutierte nur, andere würden sich nicht beschweren. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur für Menschen empfehlen die 08 15 gerne mögen. Maße statt klasse. Fleisch vom Grillteller ist ok, aber dreimal durchgebraten. Ajvar besteht nur aus Zwiebeln. Die Eigentümer sind eigentlich nett aber dieser Kellner war sehr unfreundlich und arrogant.

We have been guests at the Gilden Brauhaus over the years. We are always aware that things are louder in a brewery. But our last visit was too much. Asian tourists are bussed in, some of whom also serve themselves. Added to this is the basic volume in the restaurant. Service was okay, food was okay but increasingly mass-produced. After 1.5 decades we won't go there anymore.
