Gilden Brauhaus in Köln

We eat here regularly. The welcome is always very friendly, and the food is truly delicious. We can definitely recommend it.

I really can't think of anything I could fault here. I've been here for dinner and drinks two days in a row. Not even a single thing that would make me consider deducting a point. Very friendly staff, fast, on the ball, very good food, nice atmosphere. Please keep up the good work. Great value for money. If I'm ever in Cologne Mühlheim again, I'll definitely come back to eat and enjoy it.

That was a complete no-brainer - NOTHING!!! I ordered and received a knuckle of pork with mashed potatoes. The only thing that was okay was the meat temperature. That's hardly surprising, since the knuckle was overcooked. On the other hand, the crust (if you can even call it that) was a complete disaster. Soft as a piece of chamois leather. After a complaint, they went over it and briefly put a burner over it to at least give the visual impression that it was crispy. Folks: This thing had been sitting around the convection oven for hours, and a little burner didn't make it any better! The mashed potatoes and sauerkraut were only lukewarm and lacking in flavor. So, not a real gastronomic highlight. The waiter tried his best to do his job within the limits of his abilities. Besides ordering drinks, we even had to pick apart the computers ourselves for a group of six. All in all: a disaster - I visited the place twice: the first and last time. I'm deliberately not rating the lack of parking spaces, because otherwise I'd only get one star.

How can I best put it?! I've never seen such unfriendly waiters before. We wanted to have a drink in the beer garden around 10:30 PM because it was still warm enough to sit outside. Waiter 1 wanted to seat us in a dark corner, but we opted for a table in the light and were met with a groan. We were skillfully ignored by the waiters outside; we didn't get a menu, nothing at all. Then, by chance, a waiter came from inside who also didn't offer us a menu, but at least asked what we wanted to drink. Waiter 2 (who was walking around outside the whole time, constantly staring at me) didn't even think to bring us a menu. At one point, I was asked as I quickly passed by if I wanted another beer, and whoosh... he was gone. Such terrible staff. Absolutely disgusting. Just think about it... Hot food until 11:30 PM and open until midnight. Never again!

I agree with Claude Bukovski's assessment. The same thing happened to us and I'm super disappointed, we haven't eaten there for a while and were really looking forward to it, but we're not driving 40 km more to do that. Too bad.....🤷‍♀️

We have eaten there several times and have always been very satisfied. But as is the case with all things...they have waned a lot.

First of all, the positive: the staff is really nice, you don't have to wait long for the food and the plates are really big and well filled. Everything tasted good too. What I think is a real shame, I had already looked online in advance to see if there were alternatives for vegetarians. There wasn't much but I was still convinced to come along. Today (holiday) there were only a few dishes left on the menu, but unfortunately nothing at all for vegetarians. Which meant that I only ate one portion of fries, which I had imagined would be different when I went out to eat. These days it's not that unusual that there are people who don't eat meat for various reasons. They don't have to be vegetarian substitutes. But maybe vegetables or something...

A brewery in Kölle. It's always fascinating how the staff manage calm, friendliness and speed with incredible composure.

Simply recommended for anyone who likes something hearty. Great service, great food and good prices. As a group of 9 people, we reserved a table in advance and had fun. The approximately 2.5 hours on site definitely paid off for us and a new visit is very likely when we are nearby. Top performance to the Golden Brauhaus, keep it up!

We would have liked to have had a drink at 11 p.m. The door was locked. Too bad..... There were around 17 other customers at the door with us. An employee came out and told us it was closed... According to their opening times it is open until midnight

After a long search, we finally found the right restaurant in Cologne. The beer is delicious, the service is friendly and it's nice to sit outside. The dishes are more expensive but the quality and the portion size is more than enough. In my opinion it's very Croatian and at the end there's a Julischka, thank you 🤩 Gladly again

My whole family has been guests here since the beginning. The dishes served here are very delicious and always a pleasure! The Gilden Brauhaus is a very nice place to forget about everyday life. The management and leadership is very good and the service is friendly and fast. The toilets are very clean and are cleaned regularly. Top please keep it up 🏅 We highly recommend Gilden Brauhaus.

We discovered this brewery spontaneously and went there. Nice atmosphere, nice friendly service. Very nice extensive lunch menu. Very tasty large schnitzels with side dishes and salad. We will definitely come back to Cologne. Greetings from Düsseldorf!

Asparagus dishes are very tasty and plentiful, good prices, pleasant atmosphere and correct prices.

Had dinner there for the first time. I ordered turkey steak with hunter's sauce and fries there. The turkey steak and fries were delicious, but the hunter's sauce didn't work at all. There was bacon in the hunter's sauce, which took on all the flavor of the sauce, which in my opinion also consisted of powder...no fresh mushrooms...one waiter reacted very friendly, another who was clearing the plates reacted a little less friendly...not exactly professional. Otherwise the waiters were very friendly and the prices were okay.

We've eaten at this inn quite often. But this time we were very disappointed with the quality. The schnitzel wasn't cross and the meat wasn't tasty either. The fries looked like they had been reheated. The fat in which the fries were fried should definitely be changed. The asparagus plate, on the other hand, was very tasty. *According to my mother-in-law*

We were there at Easter, so there was a very slimmed down special menu. Unfortunately, this fact was not apparent on the (very well managed and designed) website. At least I didn't notice it. But apart from the lack of typical brewery cuisine (Halver Hahn, Mett, goulash soup etc...), the whole visit was below average. Food lukewarm, no Coca Cola products, I didn't feel like eating Kölsch at first due to the complete lack of a brewery feeling, but the prices were very high. Service was ok but nothing special. Won't come back again.

We have eaten at the “Brauhaus” several times in the past. Unfortunately, we notice that the quality of the dishes is getting worse and worse. This Easter Sunday there was only a small menu of dishes to choose from. After less than ten minutes the food was on the table. The mixed salad that was delivered in advance was probably a selection of ready-made salads from the wholesaler and had been prepared somewhere for a long time. Unfortunately, it didn't taste as fresh or crunchy as we would have hoped. The four main courses were in front of us after less than 10 minutes. One can speak of decently large portions. The taste quality was no better than in a fast food restaurant. The schnitzel was probably prepared in a deep fryer. The hunter's sauce was a tasteless ready-made sauce or roux. The venison goulash was carelessly prepared and was actually a big mess. Conclusion: quantity instead of quality. We couldn't recommend dining there more. The team is courteous and friendly. Unfortunately it's not enough for us in the restaurant. In the restaurant we expect mostly freshly prepared dishes with good taste.

Had dinner at this location before going to The Warning. Service was good. Food was good and the beer was good too. As a nice bonus, it was Schnitzer Day. Very cheap food. I think reservations are necessary because we were there at 5:00 PM and it was very busy. Worth repeating.

11 a.m. all parking spaces at Bauhaus are free, I had to get a form from the police and I was refused :-( I don't want to say that I'm a regular there, but I eat there at least 6-7 times a year. Maybe I feel it's wrong, but I was kind of pissed off about the situation

After the walk we went there for dinner yesterday. The service staff were very quick and extremely friendly and right there. Overall, the mood among the employees was very positive and without stress. We felt very comfortable. PS: The Rhenish Sauberbraten with dumplings and salad is a dream through and through. In my opinion, the price for the portion is actually very reasonable. I've paid significantly more for the quality in other places.

It's a very nice, brauhaus-like brauhaus. Their own weissbier is extremely good (you are in Cologne after all). The food is also very successful.

I often go to the Brauhaus Essen with my wife, and I have to say that even if the food wasn't that good, which was very rare, we are usually enthusiastic about the food or the nice and friendly service. It's a good and nice group of people working there, as you can tell. We always like to come back.

So the Gilden Brauhaus is just really perfect. Schnitzel and Sauberbraten were super delicious. The portion of the clean roast is particularly impressive. 3 slices, while in the old town I only get one. In addition, the prices are really humane and the service is great. Sometimes you even get dessert for free or a schnapps on the house. Will definitely be my new regular brewery.

We stayed at the hotel next door and made reservations online in advance here at the brewery. Saturday evening, the restaurant was full, fast and friendly service, very, very tasty food (the liver was a poem!) and we were able to "roll" back to the hotel satisfied and happy. 🤓 Perfect 👌 We'd love to come back the next time we're in the area.

We ate here today late at noon with a reservation and 4 people. The parking situation is difficult on site, it is best to go directly into the parking garage of the hotel next door. We even received a free ticket for parking in the brewery. The food was great. Typical brewery menu, as you would expect. Portions really good, prices also great. Very friendly staff. We'd love to come back. Everything was also doable with a wheelchair!

Well, what can I say! Everything was perfect. The atmosphere is rustic and the service was super friendly. Easy to reserve on site or online and the food was delicious! We had the goulash soup first because it was strong and tasty. Then we once had the liver, which was so tender that it fell apart on the tongue. The other dish was the Kölsche Jecke Burger, which was also incredibly good. Both dishes were in a huge portion. We were both full and happily rolled back to the hotel. Thank you dear Gilden Brauhaus and greetings to the service and kitchen.

German food, not far from the highway. We stumbled upon it on the way to our ski resort. We like the food served, service is fast and many waiters always walking around to take your orders. We ordered a jagerschnitzel , pork with dumplings and a warm Appel strudel. Didn’t disappoint us at all. We will come back again next year!

The employees are very friendly. I had the grill plate. The quality has definitely decreased, but the price has increased significantly. The atmosphere is, as usual in the Bauhaus, stuffy and stuffy. At least there are a few parking spaces in front of the house and it is easily accessible.

Appetizer Salad, vegetables...Mayonnaise sauce is very suitable for Vietnamese taste! Western chicken is of course not as chewy as Vietnamese chicken but delicious with French fries. Introducing everyone to enjoy.

Very friendly and very attentive service. Overall, a delicious meal. The vegetables were a little too soft. Rump steak was a bit too raw for medium and pancakes with the sauce were normal.

I haven't eaten as badly as I did today in this brewery for a long time. What was ordered was Zurich-style Geschnetzeltes, which came with a thin, watery Maggi sauce with mushrooms (you had to look for them too) from a can and tough meat. There were also frozen hash browns and a salad that was drowned in sauce. The fresh vegetables on the schnitzel are also frozen and drowned in cans of hollondaise sauce. It's a shame to even charge money for such a meal! Only the service was friendly and quick, hence 1 star 🌟
