Very nice view of the Königssee🙂

So let's why the stars. Food: I wanted a weisswust, I got a weisswurst with a pretzel, I was excited 😁 Service: great, after my broken English, we agreed that we can speak Czech😝 when the service is from the Czech Republic. Atmosphere: mega, Königsee, beautiful weather and a pleasant restaurant on the shore. D.O.P.O.R.Č.UJ.I.👏

Eaten well for years. In 2024, a lot of things have changed for the worse. It was very well attended. Annoyed service, but then friendly. Roast pork with dumplings a 6. Tough, dumplings not cooked through with ready-made sauce. Schnitzel with fries… ok. Fries limp. Plate chipped at the edge. Mayonnaise in the tube, half open from the previous one. Tourist rip-off won. Not again. It's a shame about the 60 euros. We were always happy to be there. Totally disappointed, very slacked off. 2 stars for the view.

The restaurant is located directly on Lake Königssee and you have a very nice view from there. The food, roast pork with dark beer sauce, red cabbage and a dumpling, tasted very good👍🏼💪🏼👋🏼

A warm atmosphere, pure sunshine

Great location right on Lake Königssee, a bit away from the tourist crowds, delicious food on offer at acceptable prices. Great view over the lake from the terrace.

The Leberkas was fried too much. The egg was probably in the pan too long. My wife's brawn didn't contain enough onions... Otherwise, the look of the Königssee was super good. The service was quick and polite and we didn't have to wait long.

I was a guest at the Echostüberl on August 27th, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. and would like to share my experience. Unfortunately, the visit was anything but pleasant. The older lady with blonde hair was extremely rude, constantly angry and extremely impatient. Your behavior negatively affected our entire trip. I am very disappointed and will never recommend this restaurant.

The food was mediocre and the portion was very small for the price. Of course you pay for the ambience. But it should be more than just a children's portion. The service was quick and polite and we didn't have to wait long.

Despite the fact that something went wrong with the reservation, the waitress responded to us in a friendly manner and solved the problem immediately. Great food, service and you can't be any closer to Königssee to eat.

A great place to stay, a little away from tourism

Delicious food and good views. But be careful: the portions are small!! If you come hungry you won't be satisfied here. The schnitzel, spagetti and XL burger are simply not big enough. Staff is friendly, the skirts/pants are good in the conditions. but inappropriately short.

Idyllic restaurant right on Königsee. The narrow access is located at the north-eastern end of the Königsee. Somewhat irritatingly, there is a traffic ban sign with the addition “Residents free”.

Here you can have really great food and slow down wonderfully - you have a view of Lake Königssee. We found the prices absolutely okay. Great here.

Spontaneously went for dinner, partly because one of the few restaurants in Schönau am Königssee offers a BAVARIAN SAUSAGE SALAD. Because of the rain the terrace was not occupied. The non-Bavarian waiter at least wiped a table dry for me and brought the menu. But then I was never seen again. Had to go in to order after waiting 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the sausage salad is not served without cheese (because supposedly it has already been mixed). Cheap grated cheese was sprinkled on top of the sausage salad (round slices of Lyonnaise - unfortunately no Regensburg cheese). Plus grated cucumber strips like the IKEA hot dogs. At least rounded off with fresh yellow & red peppers and red onions. Plus the traditional decoration (= lettuce leaf + tomato slice) The not exactly generous portion at the proud price of € 12.90. The small beer we ordered came without a head of foam and the Pinot Blanc was more lukewarm than cold. Maybe you just couldn't expect more from the bored buffet man who was constantly fidgeting on his cell phone and even sat on a box behind the counter several times. The only thing that made up for it was the really fantastic location right on Lake Königssee with a view of the Jenner. All in all a “tourist stall” that I will definitely not see again. It's a shame that something like this has to happen to someone in such a beautiful place. Unfortunately not a recommendation!

Had a drink - fine. Location nice, parking bit difficult. Fussy, rigid about paying by card. Waiter friendly, could not help that. More wasps than people visiting. Almost nothing done about that. Bummer.

We were warmly welcomed. Afterwards we asked for the menu again, even though at first we just wanted to drink something. Unfortunately, we then had to wait a long time (even though there was nothing going on) for the service to be brought to our attention. Nevertheless, the employees were all very, very friendly.

I really enjoyed my dinner here. The food was good and reasonably priced, the helles from Hofbrauhaus Berchtesgaden hit the spot, but most of all the atmosphere is what makes it great. We sat outside on a nice summer evening right next to the water as the sun slowly set and it was beautiful.

The view over the lake from the terrace is great. Unfortunately, when it comes to food, the price-performance ratio isn't right at all. Hunger drives it in. Quality is not good, but expensive. The service was very attentive and quick. Maybe ok for cake/ice cream and coffee.

Beautiful location on a historical site: Eva Braun used to swim and do her yoga exercises here, bored with the tedious stays at the Berghof. Friendly service, but diconnected from the 21sth century: no digital/only cash payments. And a lot of wasps (month of August).

Hutey food in a breathtaking atmosphere.

Food is quite good - not outstanding, but really okay for the very touristy location. The price is still ok - very quick service. Lots of pushy but not aggressive wasps on the terrace during our visit.

We as a group of 4 adults and 6 children wanted to eat there, tables were wet because it had rained 3 hours ago and they didn't want to dry them at first, then a waiter came and reluctantly wiped the tables dry with a mop. With a grim look he said to us, don't answer it, he'll be right back. We turned around and left. I can't judge the food or atmosphere. However, the service staff was completely unfriendly!!!

We were lucky that a spot just became available on the lakeside terrace. We enjoyed the wonderful and very warm weather at the beautiful Königssee with a mug of coffee and a shandy. The service was very nice and served us very friendly. A nice atmosphere by the lake.

Idyllically located on Lake Königsee. We were lucky to sit directly on the lakeside terrace by the water. The restaurant was full and the service was still very friendly, quick and attentive. The food tasted excellent and the portions were large. Everything was fine, thank you.

ATTENTION, the food made me sick. The waitress was also very rude and unprofessional. I generally advise everyone not to eat in places where there are a lot of tourists.

Ate there with my friend. Had to wait a long time before they brought the menu and ordered drinks. (we were there at 4:20 pm and it was quiet there) I ordered a steak and I asked for a medium rare. Later the waitress came back that it was not possible. And asked why not. I get the blunt answer that "we are not a steakhouse". Every restaurant where I could eat steak could always make it medium rare and they couldn't?! If you can't cook a steak, don't sell it. If you sit along the waterfront there are a lot of wasps/flying vermin. I couldn't find wasp traps etc. anywhere. When my friend was drinking, a wasp came and drank into them. We asked for a new one and we had to pay for a new one. The view is nice, but I won't go to this restaurant again. The rest of the food tasted okay, but if you're a big eater, it won't be enough for you.

We were a family of 4, we had 2 soups and 2 meals, we paid 41.80 Euros, the portions were small. The service was absolutely tragic, unpleasant with no willingness to explain anything, she brought us food without cutlery, she brought one dish much earlier than the others, everything took a very long time, we waited about 10 minutes to pay. The restaurant is in a beautiful location. We will never go here again.

Restaurant with a mega ambience right on Königssee. Food was good but the portions are very small. Service was ok, but we have also had friendlier. The restaurant is a typical tourist hotspot.

The Echostüberl doesn't promise too much (maybe the echo is missing...) and I got what I expected: hearty food, fairly quick service, relatively fair prices. The view of Lake Königssee is very beautiful. The terrace is - or will not be - protected from rain. The coffee is fine.

The place is very nice, the service is very good, but the food is really poorly made and not worth the price. Rostbrätl with mushrooms and spaetzle for example for 26 euros. Not recommended, very cheaply made and not tasty. a real shame!

Excursion restaurant that serves to satisfy tourism. The food is so well, but good for a coffee and cake on the terrace when the weather is good.

Eat with the best view of Lake Königssee Food was good The service was nice only when she asked if everything was okay, well there was a cordon bleu that was more of a children's quantity. At 19€ you can expect something. The answer was just a shrug of the shoulder, I don't care and she said she couldn't help it.

Two families had lunch here after spending time at Lake of the Kings. The meal was excellent and so was the view from the balcony. The kids even played on the dock next door.

This restaurant relies solely on the good lakeside location. The food is accordingly underground. My apple strudel was a warmed frozen product with vanilla sauce from the package. The fries smelled of old grease and came unsalted. The apple spritzer was about 90% water and had no taste. In addition, the service is rather unfriendly (although quite fast)

Here I am ready to wait in line for free space

The place is looking at a fabulous lake..the staff are totally horrible .. no kindness and no attention and when serving the table it’s like they are angry with the guest… asked for a bottle of water and 10 minutes passed .. I even tried to remind the hostess but she passed just by me and looked at me as I don’t exist.. for sure the customer service is no where a match to the fabulous location and the place deserves way more competent and pleasant staff .. for sure I won’t sit in this place even they offered me free food or drink!! The garlic bread came so sad and for sure it’s not worth 10 cents!!

The restaurant has a great location right on the lake and yet a little away from the hustle and bustle. I wasn't there until around 8 p.m. and even got a seat on the terrace. The service was friendly and the food came quickly. The food itself tasted good and the view over the lake is great

We wanted to eat at the Echostüberl and parked in front of their parking lot at 7:30 p.m., right in front of the parking machine. It says “charges apply from midnight to midnight - parking ticket can be redeemed as a voucher in the restaurant if you spend at least €20.” So I bought a parking ticket for the minimum price of €8 and went to the restaurant with the plan to eat fish There we were informed that unfortunately there would be no food today because there was no electricity in the kitchen. It can happen, so basically no problem. What was problematic, however, was that when we responded to our comments regarding the parking ticket we had already paid for, we were simply turned away with the instructive sentence that there was a small sign on the side of the road indicating that parking was free after 6 p.m. So we have thrown €8 out the window and the following questions arise: 1. Why does the parking machine say the opposite 2. Why does the parking machine issue paid tickets after 6 p.m 3. Why is the daily rate of €8 also the minimum amount - why can't you choose an hourly rate when paying by card? 4. Why don't you get a 24-hour parking ticket for the day ticket? It ends at 11:59 p.m. on the same day, so it was valid for a full 4.5 hours and didn't give us the opportunity to come back the next day The restaurant should actually have been accommodating at this point, as catering (and thus the advertised refund) was not possible and the ticket was incorrectly collected.

Absolute surprise 👍🏼😎 A tourist restaurant that served first-class food. Now listen!!! Then it's cheaper than in many would-be restaurants. Super Service Great, I didn't expect it. 😍 I'm a big eater and had to fight to get my plate empty. I would be happy to recommend it to anyone.

The lake provides the beautiful ambience. The staff doesn't work at all, unfriendly, no desire, takes a long time until someone comes and then they just keep the tip without saying anything.

A great restaurant at Königssee. Outdoor terrace right on the water, with a great view of the mountains. The food was delicious and the portions were also very large. Price/performance is completely okay, especially considering the location and the tourist hotspot. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Fast and didn't seem stressed. Definitely the few minutes walk from the boat dock 😉 Or use the parking spaces directly at the restaurant. But there is a charge during the day! We would love to come back 😊

The meals were delicious. The location is amazing. Feel the beauty of nature at the King's Lake.

The view is nice, but that's about it. We would like to have dinner there. When we asked if anything was free, we were told “Yes, but only outside. It's supposed to rain soon and then they're out of luck” Ok, so we sat outside because according to the radar, the rain was still a while away. The boss then came and complained to us in a way that said, “Only inside, no service outside.” We then asked him if there was still a seat available inside and then he disappeared. Since we were sitting right next to the door to the restaurant entrance, we could clearly hear our colleagues shouting at each other. The other guests who arrived outside were vehemently ignored. That just doesn't work!

Very nice experience in every way: the fish is delicious and of good quality, the setting is magnificent, the staff is smiling, for a more than fair price I even went there a second time without hesitation!

We spontaneously wanted to eat here today. When I asked if you could sit outside, the answer was unfriendly: “It might rain, if you want to sit outside you don’t have to come in.” Colleagues from the service staff also made unfriendly statements. Unfortunately, you don't feel welcome as a guest.

Cheese spaetzle is a joke, just a few spaetzle with some fried onion on top.

Service is very low. We waited a long time to be seated at a table. The waiters don't care about the guests at all. Then, I asked for an ashtray - they forgot to bring it. And this is not the first time this has happened. As a result, there is no desire to return to this "restaurant"

Ordered a little something here when the weather was bad. The service was very nice and the atmosphere was nice and quaint. Some of the food could be better. When the weather is nice, it's definitely nice out here right by the lake.

The atmosphere right on Königssee is of course great. In my opinion, unfortunately the food has gone downhill.

It's better to make a reservation because it's always very busy, otherwise you'll have to wait or go to another restaurant.

Food was good quality, portions were rather small for the price and the large salad wasn't enough for the price.

If the view is nice, the good experience ended here for us. The staff is as friendly as a prison door (Guantanamo or something like that!). We waited almost 1 hour 15 minutes for our dish. The quality was mediocre in my opinion: overcooked escalope, overcooked burger and too much sauce, etc. The irony is surely that the sauces in sachets (mayonnaise/ketchup) are thrown on the dish with the food. I prepare my bowl with more attention 🐶 A special mention to the young brunette waitress who served us, with attention and a smile despite the endless wait. A word of advice: offer fewer dishes and ensure the service and cooking are done correctly!

The food was very good. However, I have to be strict with the restaurant now. The online menu advertises the world's best Kaiserschmarren, which was not available in the restaurant when I visited. A pity!

Wonderful ambience with a great view from the terrace. The food is delicious and the portions are large. It tastes good. The beer too, of course. Prices for the region are very moderate. Friendly service.

You get the daily parking fee of €8 back if you spend more than €20. The location is great. Great view of the Königsee and the boathouses. Lots of places on the outside terrace. Great friendly service, especially the nice woman is on her toes. The food is homemade and tastes very good. We tried the cordon bleu and the roast pork.

We came to this restaurant without a reservation and still got a table straight away with a beautiful view of Lake Königsee. When it started to rain, we acted quickly and all guests were able to continue eating inside. Everything tasted great. Service top. The insider tip is definitely the delicious chocolate fondue.

Very rustic furnishings - you have an excellent view of Lake Königssee, whether you sit inside or outside. The staff is courteous and attentive, the food is excellent. We were here twice and were very satisfied both times. We will come back the next time we visit Königssee.

Very nice place and the service was extremely attentive. The food was ok, the fries were not crispy but rather mushy. The rest of the food didn't look as freshly prepared as the menu suggested.

We ate there today after reserving a table yesterday. A very rustic atmosphere, comfortably furnished. The staff is very attentive and friendly. There was a seasonal savings menu, and we also found the selection to be extensive. The starter platter and also the asparagus dish were very tasty.

It's a very, very nice location right on Lake Königssee ❤️ the service was very nice and the food was delicious. You can't complain about the price at all ☺️ next year we will visit it again.
