Gastronomie Carl Hagenbeck in Hamburg

After the completely overwhelmed waiter ignored us inside for about 30 minutes, and the dishes from the previous diners were still there, we decided to order something outside at the counter due to acute hunger. There were five gossipy people standing in the kitchen, and it seemed like none of them had anything to do except gossip. We were then reluctantly "served." An extremely grumpy employee first took my friend's order, prepared it, and asked her if she didn't want "sour cream" on her country potatoes. After asking three times and receiving even more obnoxious answers, I realized that the employee in question might mean "sour cream." Then she wanted to take the payment, and I said I'd like a currywurst. After a long sigh, she reluctantly prepared it and took the money. Conclusion: If you can't do anything else, don't go to this restaurant. The staff is absolutely unfriendly, overwhelmed, and poorly selected!

Since the restaurant was very busy and we weren't being paid any attention (it can happen), we wanted to order something at the counter outside. There were five ladies in the kitchen working the fryers, and one server was serving the very, very busy restaurant. I've rarely been served so rudely at the counter as I was here, or rather, I was just barely served. This arrogance and unfriendliness were beyond compare! If we hadn't been so hungry, we would have left!!!

The poor, expensive food somehow doesn't fit in with the otherwise great zoo. It would be desirable to see improvements there overall.

Bring plenty of time. Speed ​​isn't an issue here.

Good food. Good portions. Very charming and attentive staff. Lovely ambiance. You can sit inside or outside.

After we moved our table 20 cm out of the blazing sun and under the parasol, the waiter informed us that this wasn't permitted. We then left the restaurant (Flamingo Lodge). Customer service is very, very low priority here.

Great service, very child friendly. Very nice and competent staff. Very tasty food.

The best currywurst in the world.

€3.60 for a tiny piece of strawberry cake from the freezer. The strawberries were still frozen when eaten. What else can you say about that?

That was ok, but nothing more. As expected, the prices are very high. Unfortunately the staff was a bit annoyed...was it because of the rain?
