Great restaurant. We were there with the whole family. From the quality of the food to the ambiance and the staff – everything was excellent.

I hesitated for a while before writing this review. Perhaps it will encourage the owner to make some changes. We had booked a Christmas dinner for 27 people on December 25, 2025. We had two hours. Unfortunately, the hall where the dinner was held wasn't very inviting. The tables were all in a row, which was more reminiscent of a cafeteria—not very Christmassy, ​​rather cold. We arrived on time. However, the guests before us were still seated, which wasn't a problem for us initially. The server asked us to wait, which would have been perfectly fine. However, the previous guests were very upset about being asked to leave, and the situation escalated. I was insulted without provocation and even physically assaulted. I didn't know either the woman who insulted me or the man who was part of the family who hit me. I tried to de-escalate the situation. The staff initially called the police, but then canceled their call. I don't know why. My conclusion: I suffered bruising in my chest area (I'm a woman) and have had trouble sleeping ever since. To avoid such situations in the future, instead of trying to cram in as many guests as possible (as the waitress suggested), they should ensure sufficient time is scheduled between reservations so that no innocent people get hurt. I can't comment on the food, as my appetite and Christmas spirit were completely gone by that moment.

No idea why it only has a 4.3-star rating overall. A lovely, quaint restaurant with good service and very good traditional cuisine. We stopped in spontaneously. Everything was perfect!

Update: We were a group of eight for dinner here on Boxing Day. All I can say is: thank you so much, dear team! Superb service, lovely atmosphere, and wonderful food (some other restaurants could learn a thing or two from your goose preparation) – and all this despite the huge Christmas rush. A great success – we'll definitely be back! We were at the newly opened Gasthof Weißig today and were simply thrilled. Delicious food, incredibly friendly staff, and a fantastic atmosphere! Thank you so much for a wonderful culinary experience. We'll be back. By the way: children also feel very comfortable here.

We had reserved tables for a family celebration on Boxing Day. We were offered two time slots: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 1:00 PM. We chose 11:00 AM. We arrived on time and were seated in a small room upstairs. Our order was taken at 11:30 AM. Drinks arrived half an hour later, and the food arrived at 12:30 PM, just over an hour after we had ordered it. As mentioned, our time slot was until 1:00 PM. We also had children with us, so the food wasn't served very quickly. After the meal, we wanted to order dessert. The waiter came to our table at 12:55 PM and, while taking our order, remarked that we would have to leave five minutes after the scheduled time. The chairs and tables were so close together that the waiter couldn't get through the narrow rows, so the people at the front of the table had to pass the plates around. We were embarrassed in front of our guests. ] ] ' ... We weren't informed during our reservation that the food wouldn't be served until 12:30, after a 1.5-hour wait. Too bad, we won't be going there again.

It's a very nice restaurant with excellent and plentiful food. The staff were very friendly and made our stay very pleasant. They also managed the large number of people well. Highly recommended.

We were there for a birthday party. The service was incredibly friendly and the team was very helpful! The food was delicious and everyone in our group of 15 found something they liked. We'd love to come back.

There's a large parking lot right in front of the building, so it's super easy to get to. 🚙 There were seven of us today, and we all really enjoyed our meal. 😋 Everyone is happy and full. We highly recommend this inn. 🥰

We had a wonderful evening on October 17th in the packed restaurant. The food and service were excellent. The dishes were beautifully presented and very tasty. We would gladly return.

We decided on the spur of the moment to eat at the inn. Without having to make a reservation, we were warmly welcomed and seated. The staff was very prompt, and the food was very good and plentiful, so you'll definitely be able to fill yourself up. I highly recommend the Gasthaus Weißig. It's definitely worth a visit.

We had a reservation, which was a good thing, as the inn is quite busy. The service staff is friendly and efficient. The food is plentiful and delicious. The ambiance is very rustic, as you would expect from such a place. We'd be happy to come back.

We visited the inn today and were warmly welcomed (by a young foreign employee). We had a fantastic meal (half a duck with red cabbage and dumplings). It was outstanding! After our visit to the Court Theater, we reserved a table at the restaurant, which we were very grateful for given the high occupancy on a Sunday evening. In short, we were more than satisfied with everything and would like to sincerely thank the very friendly staff for the delicious food and the service. It was definitely good value for money! We would love to come back soon!

I was in the restaurant, not the hotel. It was delicious! Top quality, the daily special was also reasonably priced and still of excellent quality. We'd be happy to come back. The current restaurant hasn't been open long, but it's really great - ignore reviews from over two years; the previous one was terrible. It's a shame that Google doesn't allow separate ratings for hotels and restaurants.

I had lunch there with friends from Berlin on the holiday (October 3, 2025) for the first time since the restaurant reopened. It was very good, tasty, and the portions were generous. I'll definitely come back with friends.

Apparently, having a migrant background is enough to deny you a wedding venue. Even with a German passport, you'll be rejected if you're not of German descent.

I'm a guest at this wonderful restaurant with its stunning beer garden once again. For the Bavarian definition of a beer garden, chestnut trees are an absolute must – and here, there are even five of these magnificent trees 🌳. Any Munich resident would be thrilled. But it's not just the ambiance that captivates – the excellent cuisine also invites you to linger. Lovingly run by a family, they cook, roast, bake, and grill wonderfully. Whatever you like... and the whole thing is rounded off with attentive service that clearly shows a passion for their job – extremely friendly and inviting us to return. I've already tried several dishes here – all excellent and highly recommended, even though I've only been living in Dresden for two months. I love to enjoy myself here. We, three adults and two children, dined at the Gasthof Weißig on August 24, 2025. Kudos to the team. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. Service was quick despite the full house. Luckily, we had made a reservation.

Yesterday, we (three chatting girls) were at the inn for a cozy get-together and felt very comfortable and well looked after. The staff are very friendly. It didn't take long before we were asked what we wanted to drink. Ordering our food was also very quick. Our food arrived promptly, was hot, and tasted delicious. A very good restaurant. Monday is knuckle day, Tuesday is schnitzel, Wednesday is burger day, and Thursday is spare ribs day. And it was really delicious. Friendly staff. Easy to reach by public transport.

The inn is located directly on Bautzener Landstrasse and is easy to reach. We had lunch this afternoon. There were plenty of free places there. During “peak times” you should reserve seats. The food was well prepared, freshly prepared, very tasty and plentiful. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Thanks! We'll be back!

An almost spontaneous visit, the four of us to the restaurant, today on a Tuesday (it's schnitzel day!!!!), will encourage us to visit the restaurant again. All the waitresses were really very nice, even if not all of them had learned the trade, but they always tried to fulfill even unusual customer requests. Hats off, in this day and age! In addition, the kitchen was able to completely convince us today, 2 rich schnitzel dishes with a large side salad bowl were really well received, the skirt steak we ordered with fried potatoes and an equally large side salad bowl was perfect! Personally, I found the classic dish I ordered at this time of year, asparagus with schnitzel and fresh potatoes, more than perfect! Very nicely prepared, after all, the eye is there too, but also the quality of the asparagus, the schnitzel, the potatoes, the holly - everything is really great! At the beginning I was a little hesitant about the retail price of over €26, but if the size of the portion and the quality turned out to be the same as what I was served this evening, the calculation was correct. Conclusion for the catering trade; It's your own fault.... You'll definitely see us again ;-) My very personal recommendation at the end; the pleasure ticket for two! Almost everyone knows the principle: order two dishes and the host takes care of the cheaper one. The gourmet menu for two is currently valid in four Kosiol family restaurants in Dresden! All in all, we are very happy that the inn is open again. Now to our visit (the second since the reopening). The food is good but not outstanding, the prices are relatively high but still acceptable. The service is attentive, but the friendliness varies depending on which service person you get...a positive highlight is the promotional days Monday to Thursday, you can really save here...we definitely recommend a reservation, as it was really well attended both times (once during the week, once on the weekend). Overall, a good inn in a great building...it's best to see for yourself!!!!
