The food was outstanding, delicious, and worth every penny. We celebrated my birthday here. The service was very friendly and helpful, and they anticipated our every need—truly wonderful. My little Peppy (a Havanese girl) was also allowed to come along and she felt right at home. Thank you for the wonderful evening, the delicious food, and greetings to the chef and the entire team.

Very nice staff and the food comes super fast

After a hike in the Schwandorf lake district, we stopped here for a snack. We were able to sit on the beautifully situated terrace with our dog, who was welcome. The cordon bleu and the schnitzel were delicious and rounded off the day perfectly. Thank you so much for this, and we'd love to come back 😊

Simply a great pub. The service is friendly, the beer is cold, and the food is excellent. And the outdoor balcony area is now so cozy, thanks to the many plants providing shade. I would come here much more often if I didn't live in Munich.

We were there for lunch today, on the terrace by the water, it was absolutely beautiful. The service was so friendly, the food was excellent, even the salad was so beautifully presented, not to mention the schnitzel, which was a dream! And then the beer for my husband was "made with love," what more could you want? 😉 The prices are also absolutely fair. We can only recommend it to everyone and will definitely be back. I can only speak about our visit to the restaurant: great and friendly service. The best German cuisine in the SAD area. We absolutely love coming here for dinner. And we recommend it to others. The price is perfectly reasonable for the quality of the food! We always get a seat, even without a reservation. But unfortunately, there aren't enough parking spaces. You can park further away on side streets, but if you don't know that, it's a real shame.

Yes, you can eat very well here, with super friendly service. Very nice rooms and a balcony. Sitting outside, you can enjoy a view of the Naab River. I highly recommend it.

I am simply disappointed and angry. The restaurant management shocked me. My family and I were regulars for years and always celebrated our birthdays here, but that is history now. I called the lady and asked if she could make me a fat-free piece of meat (chicken or turkey) with grilled vegetables and rice (without onions) because I have an intolerance. I was charged a hefty €35 for this; the food was thrown in a plastic bag. The vegetables were not grilled, but cooked with lots of onions. It was not a fat-free piece of meat either, but pure fat. I was given completely wrong advice and was given completely different food that I could not eat because of my intolerance. I asked very nicely whether I could either have the dish prepared fat-free without onions or have my money back because it wasn't €10 but a lot of money. The lady started arguing so much that even a nice guest offered to eat the meal himself and would have given me the money. She didn't want that, she was just looking for drama and stress, she simply didn't want to give my money back. She didn't understand my problem and she didn't have any fat-free meat either. Since we couldn't solve the problem that way, she even called the police, all the guests were shocked and horrified. To make such a fuss over such a small thing. The customer is definitely not king here, customers are treated like dirt! And my family and I will definitely never go here again and will tell everyone about it to protect as many people as possible from this restaurant. I'm really disappointed, I've never experienced anything like this before.

If there were 10 stars, I would give them. We had a schnitzel, which was super delicious, with a huge portion and a great price. The service was very attentive and friendly. We stopped by while passing through. Thank you for the great food and also a big thank you to the city for the lovely RV parking space.

We ate on the terrace/balcony. It's actually quite nice, as you're sitting right by the Naab River, but everything was overgrown and it smelled a bit funny. Overall, the prices were a bit high. However, the fitness plate with currywurst and shashlik tasted great and was a winner for the price 🏆. The service was super friendly 👍

We were traveling in our motorhome and stopped in Schwandorf, where we took a guided tour of the Felsenkeller (rock cellar). We had dinner with you in the evening for our anniversary. We had cheese spaetzle 😋😋😋, which were absolutely delicious, and then ice cream for dessert. Everything was wonderful, thank you for the lovely evening. I can recommend you 100%.

Excellent food. We had schnitzel platter, spaetzle with sauce and sausage salad. Spaetzle with sauce is super delicious for children. Definitely coming back. Highly recommended. Service was very nice and quick despite the restaurant being full.

Certainly a good location, but given the prices we would have expected more in terms of cuisine. The asparagus salad consists of at least 50% canned food. Not that great for almost 15 euros. Better to have less choice instead of something like that. The salad was also meaningless in terms of taste. Also: There has been really good non-alcoholic wheat for many years, but what was served tasted watery. The cheese spaetzle with real cheese and the service, on the other hand, were very good.

First of all, a big thank you to the waiter who still found us a table because all the places were booked but we didn't know that and we just went there but the waiter didn't throw us out and still found us a table 😉 The food is very tasty and very large portions. I would have given it 5* but a small drawback was that the waiters don't speak any other language than German but luckily I know a little bit and we got the food ordered. A bigger drawback is that most of the dishes have fries as a side dish, but this is definitely not typical of German cuisine and I would have expected fried or oven-baked potatoes. When I come back I will definitely visit again, greetings from Estonia. Since our actually "chosen" restaurant was unfortunately closed contrary to what was stated on the Internet, we quickly called Gasthof Baier. We were warmly welcomed there and allowed to stop off. The service staff was very friendly and took our order promptly. The waiting time was really more than okay and the lunch menu was very varied. Price/performance is absolutely fine for the home-style cuisine and the portions are also - at least for me personally - more than sufficient! The food was fantastic! The Gasthof Baier is definitely highly recommended.

Rating only refers to the inn. Always quite inconspicuous from the outside but just all around very good. The kitchen is dedicated to the slow food idea, which I think is great. Price-performance is simply top. Always my pleasure. The only thing that is a bit difficult is the parking situation on site, but you can easily use the free Schwandorf festival area. Currently (Jan. 2025) things are still a bit tighter around the inn due to the large bridge construction site.

We came across Gasthof Baier by chance after our planned restaurant closed, and it was a hit! The service was extremely friendly and accommodating, and our dog was also warmly welcomed - including a prompt supply of water. We ordered the cordon bleu and the schnitzel platter, and both were excellent: tender, freshly prepared and really tasty. The toilets are modernized and very clean, which completes the overall look of the restaurant perfectly. We can fully recommend this restaurant and would be happy to come back!

The visit to the restaurant was a complete success, especially thanks to the excellent food. The cream roast beef was exceptional - tender, perfectly seasoned and an absolute highlight in terms of taste. The vegetarian dishes were also convincing. Whenever I'm in Schwandorf for work, I stay here. The rooms impress with either typical Bavarian style or a more modern look. As always, the food and drinks are very good and served by friendly staff. There are parking spaces directly in front of the guesthouse. The absolute highlight in summer is the terrace with a view of the Naab, everyone should have sat there at least once. I would love to come back and recommend Gasthof Baier.

You can eat very well at Baier. The dishes are varied, attractively prepared, sumptuous and the service is always friendly! I would classify it as middle-class or even a class higher. Unfortunately, it has also increased in price over the last year. When the weather is nice you can sit outside on the balcony at the Naab. I can't say anything about the rooms.

On August 15th we ate at “Baier” for the first time. We like this charm a lot. Service super friendly and funny. Unfortunately I don't know her name. I definitely wanted to bring this up because conditions like this are worth their weight in gold these days. (She probably remembers us, 1 couple with a child and the grandpa who always ordered before everyone else knew what they were eating :D) We sat right next to the terrace door and then sat outside. Maybe you know which operator I mean and say thank you very much. Now let's eat. Huge portions (but pssst we don't say that too loudly, not that they get smaller 😀) Devil's Cordon Bleu is super delicious with the shish kebab sauce. But the forest mushroom sauce from the Hütten Cordon Bleu was great. Next time I'll take this 😀 All in all a very nice and informal evening. We'd love to come back. By the way, the terrace would be even nicer if the city took care of the river bank, which somewhat blocks the view of our beautiful river. Kind regards, the Bohmann family

Spontaneous arrival as there isn't much economy to be found around Lake Murnauer as a camper. We were looking for something rustic and found exactly the right thing at the Gasthof Baier. Very tasty food and you can see the kitchen staff preparing it live. Not a ready-made meal but truly handmade. And the sauce, a poem. We recommend the Tapas Bavaria, you can lie down there. But danger: never eat alone, it's enough for two otherwise you won't be able to do anything else. Conclusion! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Call ahead to see if there is space on the terrace, but it's also cozy inside. P. S. The toilets look like they are in a 5 star restaurant, they are chic

A very nice restaurant with very nice operators, I can't say anything about the rooms because we were only there to eat. There is a terrace overlooking the river. We were able to place the order very quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks or food. In this regard, the food was very tasty and the price-performance ratio was definitely good for us. The toilet facilities are very clean and have just been renovated and are therefore up to date. We will definitely come back.
