Very nice atmosphere and very good food

First of all, a big thank you to the waiter who still found us a table because all the places were booked but we didn't know that and we just went there but the waiter didn't throw us out and still found us a table 😉 The food is very tasty and very large portions. I would have given it 5* but a small drawback was that the waiters don't speak any other language than German but luckily I know a little bit and we got the food ordered. A bigger drawback is that most of the dishes have fries as a side dish, but this is definitely not typical of German cuisine and I would have expected fried or oven-baked potatoes. When I come back I will definitely visit again, greetings from Estonia. Since our actually "chosen" restaurant was unfortunately closed contrary to what was stated on the Internet, we quickly called Gasthof Baier. We were warmly welcomed there and allowed to stop off. The service staff was very friendly and took our order promptly. The waiting time was really more than okay and the lunch menu was very varied. Price/performance is absolutely fine for the home-style cuisine and the portions are also - at least for me personally - more than sufficient! The food was fantastic! The Gasthof Baier is definitely highly recommended.

Rating only refers to the inn. Always quite inconspicuous from the outside but just all around very good. The kitchen is dedicated to the slow food idea, which I think is great. Price-performance is simply top. Always my pleasure. The only thing that is a bit difficult is the parking situation on site, but you can easily use the free Schwandorf festival area. Currently (Jan. 2025) things are still a bit tighter around the inn due to the large bridge construction site.

We came across Gasthof Baier by chance after our planned restaurant closed, and it was a hit! The service was extremely friendly and accommodating, and our dog was also warmly welcomed - including a prompt supply of water. We ordered the cordon bleu and the schnitzel platter, and both were excellent: tender, freshly prepared and really tasty. The toilets are modernized and very clean, which completes the overall look of the restaurant perfectly. We can fully recommend this restaurant and would be happy to come back!

The visit to the restaurant was a complete success, especially thanks to the excellent food. The cream roast beef was exceptional - tender, perfectly seasoned and an absolute highlight in terms of taste. The vegetarian dishes were also convincing. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere was very nice. A restaurant I can highly recommend!

I was here for dinner with a group. Everything was well organized, the staff was very friendly, no long waiting times even though the restaurant was completely full. The food was very tasty! Everyone in the group was thrilled! I definitely have to go here again!

There are a few things that really impressed us about the inn: first of all, the opening times (Monday lunch, perfect!). We couldn't find anything open in the area. The waitresses were very, very friendly, the prices were absolutely right and the portions were huge. The food was very good and tasty. Absolutely recommended. We'd love to come back!

Whenever I'm in Schwandorf for work, I stay here. The rooms impress with either typical Bavarian style or a more modern look. As always, the food and drinks are very good and served by friendly staff. There are parking spaces directly in front of the guesthouse. The absolute highlight in summer is the terrace with a view of the Naab, everyone should have sat there at least once. I would love to come back and recommend Gasthof Baier.

The food is consistently delicious and there is something for everyone, and the service is also on point. I can't say anything about the rooms as we only ever went there to eat.

Someone else here knows something about his craft. Here we cook with a lot of love. Thank you for one of the best cordon bleu we have ever tasted.

The staff is also super nice and you don't get the impression that anyone is rushed. I'd love to come back. The only drawback is the parking situation; a short walk has to be accepted for renovation work and the lack of parking spaces. Big praise to the entire team. Keep it up.

Schnitzel with fried potatoes was excellent.

You can eat very well at Baier. The dishes are varied, attractively prepared, sumptuous and the service is always friendly! I would classify it as middle-class or even a class higher. Unfortunately, it has also increased in price over the last year. When the weather is nice you can sit outside on the balcony at the Naab. I can't say anything about the rooms.

On August 15th we ate at “Baier” for the first time. We like this charm a lot. Service super friendly and funny. Unfortunately I don't know her name. I definitely wanted to bring this up because conditions like this are worth their weight in gold these days. (She probably remembers us, 1 couple with a child and the grandpa who always ordered before everyone else knew what they were eating :D) We sat right next to the terrace door and then sat outside. Maybe you know which operator I mean and say thank you very much. Now let's eat. Huge portions (but pssst we don't say that too loudly, not that they get smaller 😀) Devil's Cordon Bleu is super delicious with the shish kebab sauce. But the forest mushroom sauce from the Hütten Cordon Bleu was great. Next time I'll take this 😀 All in all a very nice and informal evening. We'd love to come back. By the way, the terrace would be even nicer if the city took care of the river bank, which somewhat blocks the view of our beautiful river. Kind regards, the Bohmann family

We were there last night. Super friendly and everything went pretty quickly. The food was outstanding! My friend said he hasn't had CordonBleu this good in a long time. I had cheese dumplings with a huge salad! Delicious and simply awesome! Very worth it, portions are large and enough to fill you up! Top!

Spontaneous arrival as there isn't much economy to be found around Lake Murnauer as a camper. We were looking for something rustic and found exactly the right thing at the Gasthof Baier. Very tasty food and you can see the kitchen staff preparing it live. Not a ready-made meal but truly handmade. And the sauce, a poem. We recommend the Tapas Bavaria, you can lie down there. But danger: never eat alone, it's enough for two otherwise you won't be able to do anything else. Conclusion! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Call ahead to see if there is space on the terrace, but it's also cozy inside. P. S. The toilets look like they are in a 5 star restaurant, they are chic

We spent a thoroughly positive evening there. The service was very polite and accommodating. The meal didn't take long and tasted excellent. All dishes were freshly prepared. All this at a very affordable price!

Very very great place with probably the best schnitzel you can get. The service was super nice and the food came quickly. There were five of us, everyone was thrilled with the food, the service and how quickly the food came to the table. Always happy!!!

A very nice restaurant with very nice operators, I can't say anything about the rooms because we were only there to eat. There is a terrace overlooking the river. We were able to place the order very quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks or food. In this regard, the food was very tasty and the price-performance ratio was definitely good for us. The toilet facilities are very clean and have just been renovated and are therefore up to date. We will definitely come back.

Hello dear Baier team First of all, you are really awesome We had dinner with you last Tuesday, April 30th, on the way home from the Bavarian Forest Unbelievably what a service, everyone was very friendly and attentive, the food tasted incredibly tasty, the portions were huge, hardly large or not manageable for my husband and I. We (4 people from Landshut) went to dinner at the inn with our brother from Schwandorf today. The food was great. Onion roast, mushroom schnitzel, warm apple strudel... served decoratively. Very attentive and friendly service. Top! Definitely recommended if you are in the area. And the toilets are awesome!!! Super beautiful!

I ate a very tasty cordon bleu here, my mother had a salad with fish and shrimp, also really good. Both dishes were sufficient, I wasn't hungry anymore - which is really rare. Service attentive and friendly. I can fully recommend the restaurant, we will be back!

Wir sind öfter mal zum essen hier. Letzten Sonntag waren wir wieder so begeistert, dass ich nun eine Bewertung schreiben MUSS! Essen ist immer top. Gute bayrische Küche. Auf Wunsch bekommt man auch kleine Portionen. Immer sehr gut besucht, ich empfehle eine Reservierung. Der Service ist auf Augenhöhe. Uns bediente eine Marina ( stand zumindest auf der Rechnung 😅 ), es wurde freundlich nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung sei, oder wir noch Getränke brauchen. Ich empfehle diesen Gasthof allen, die guten Service, tolle Athmosphäre und gute Küche miteinander verbinden möchten. Ein Lob möchte ich auch noch für die Küche aussprechen. Es schmeckt immer sehr lecker.

Waren sehr zufrieden, bekamen kurzfristig einen Tisch. Bestellen ging sehr zügig und wir bekamen unser Essen sehr schnell. Das Essen war gut und reichliche Portionen. Gerne wieder!

Leberknödelsuppe war versalzen, der Sauerbraten schmeckte alles andere als nach Sauerbraten. Wir waren enttäuscht.

Wir waren innerhalb von einer Woche hier dreimal essen gewesen. Das Lokal ist immer gut besucht, eine Reservierung ist zu empfehlen. Die tolle Speisekarte lockt mit ausgewählten regionalen Gerichten zu angemessenen Preisen. Habe einmal einen Schnitzelteller, einmal das Rindertartar und einmal die Schweinefiletmedallions gegessen, alle Gerichte waren sehr gut zubereitet und ließen keine Wünsche offen. Die Portionen sind groß und man wird gut satt. Das Personal ist freundlich und direkt, auf wünsche wird eingegangen. Die Speisen werden zügig zubereitet. Wenn ich wieder hier in Schwandorf bin, werde ich sicher wiederkommen. Absolut zu empfehlen!

Das Mittagessen in diesem Gasthof war einfach super. Große Portionen und sehr schmackhaft. Wir haben nicht übernachtet.

Gestern waren wir spontan zum Essen gekommen. Das Essen schmeckt super lecker!!! O-Ton meines Sohnes: „Mama, warum hat der Baier keinen Stern? Das Essen hat mindestens einen Stern verdient!!!“ Das Ambiente ist noch richtig gmiatlich, so wie man sich ein bayerisches Wirtshaus eben vorstellt. Macht weiter so!!!

War enttäuscht 😞 Hatte 2 Baustellen mit Lärm vor und hinterm Haus 🙉 war froh als es wieder nach Hause ging. Nach 8 Nachtschichten ohne Frühstück auf dem kaputten Lattenrost vom Bett,und das Wasser wurde ohne Worte für einen Tag mal abgestellt. OHNE die Raucherlounge und das sehr gute Abendessen im Restaurant wäre ich nicht so lange geblieben.

Das Lokal wirkt von außen vielleicht etwas altbacken, aber davon sollte mann sich nicht beeinflussen lassen. Die Speisen waren sehr gut und das Personal nett und zuvorkommend. Ich habe in einem Lokal selten ein so hervorragendes Filetsteak gegessen. Wir saßen auf der Terrasse mit schönen Blick auf die Naab. Um die Jahreszeit war es allerdings schon etwas frisch zur späteren Stunde. Wir würden jederzeit wieder in dem Lokal einkehren.
