Absolut empfehlenswert! Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und der Ort einfach traumhaft. Friedlich und wunderschön. Der perfekte Ort, um ein leckeres Essen und ein gutes Bier zu genießen. Wir waren mit zwei Kindern dort und sie hatten viel Spaß. Der Besitzer spricht Englisch und, was noch besser ist, ist ein großer Fan der Kanarischen Inseln 😎

Wir waren während unseres Urlaubes 2x dort essen und saßen gemütlich im Garten. Das gesamte Personal war sehr herzlich und das Essen richtig lecker, absolut empfehlenswert.

Wir waren eigentlich zu spät für den Mittagstisch aber haben trotzdem noch ein sehr leckeres Essen bekommen. Unser Hund war willkommen und die Bedienung außerordentlich freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Das beste Cordon Bleu Schnitzel aller Zeiten! Großzügige Portionen. Salat vorab. Sonderwünsche wurden problemlos erfüllt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und kannte sich alles bestens aus. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Das Gasthaus Sauer haben wir schon mehrfach besucht. Es bietet sehr gute, bodenständige, deutsche Küche und den notwenigen Pfiff bei Sonder-Events, wie beim Gänseessen oder zu Weihnachten. Das Essen ist handwerklich sehr gut zubereitet, die Größe ist ordentlich - man ist dort auf dem Land - und schmeckt sehr gut. Das Rumpsteak und die Festtagssuppe = BAM, die sollte man gegessen haben. Das Essen auf der Sommerterrasse ist Urlaub pur. Einfach nur schön Der Service ist sehr familiär, man fühlt gleich wohl: Man kommt als Fremder und geht als Freund. Der Gast wird gekonnt bedient, erhält Empfehlungen und wird gut unterhalten ohne, dass der Service aufdringlich ist. Geheimtipp: Zum Abschluss empfehlen wir den Alten Williams als Digestif, einfach ein Klasse für sich. Wir geben sehr gerne 9 von 5 Sternen :) für das Gasthaus Sauer. Weiter so, wir kommen gerne wieder und empfehlen das Restaurant gerne weiter.

Danke für das wunderbare Mittagsbuffet anl.meines 80.Geburtstags. Wunderbare Tischdekoration, Sektempfang u. schmackhaftes Essen. Für jeden war etwas dabei. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich u.Bedienung sehr nett ..Der Chef kocht selbst u.seine Frau sorgt aufmerksam dafür, dass kein Gast ohne sein Wunschgetränk bleibt. Haben schon viele Feiern dort erlebt u.im Sommer ist ein Besuch im schönen Biergarten ist ein kleiner Urlaub. Bis demnächst mal wieder.Weiter so.

Ein Restaurant, in dem man sich sofort wie zu Hause fühlt. Die herzliche und freundliche Gastgeberin sorgt für einen herzlichen Empfang und persönliche Aufmerksamkeit. Die Speisekarte ist klein, aber fein und bietet (in unserem Fall) köstliche Herbstgerichte. Änderungen? Überhaupt kein Problem – alles wurde sorgfältig und mit einem Lächeln arrangiert. Wir haben hier zweimal fantastisch gegessen. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Ein klassisches Landgasthaus, das mit der Zeit geht, ohne das Ursprüngliche zu verlieren. Es gibt traditionelle deutsche Gerichte wie Schnitzel und Wild, aber eben auch eine gute Auswahl vegetarischer Gerichte, bei denen sich jemand Gedanken und Mühe gemacht hat. Dazu ist die Karte regional und saisonal, wir waren im Herbst da und sind voll auf unsere Kosten gekommen. Eine gute Stärkung nach oder vor einer Wanderung, ausreichend große Portionen und dennoch liegt zumindest mein vegetarisches Essen (Linsen-Kürbis-Kartoffel-Gemüse-Rösti mit Quark) nicht schwer im Magen.

Very nice ambiance; we could choose whether to sit inside or outside. The service was friendly, though they could have asked for drinks more often. The food was okay, but unfortunately the gourmet toast was very greasy due to the mushrooms (there was a decent layer of fat floating on the plate, which didn't exactly help the sauce), which significantly muted the flavor. The whole-wheat toast should also be listed as such on the menu.

We received excellent service, even though it was three minutes before lunchtime. The food was excellent. We'd be happy to go back.

Highly recommended. We were allowed to stay overnight on the property with our RV. It's a very pretty little village with beautiful nature and hiking opportunities.

Beautiful beer garden, delicious food, friendly staff

Highly recommended. We were there on a Monday right after the store opened. We were greeted very warmly by the staff, had a free choice of seating, and were served promptly. A very nice menu with an additional seasonal special (currently featuring chanterelle mushrooms). The food was delicious, of excellent quality, and really fresh. The service was excellent throughout. Not too pushy, but you also didn't feel like you were being forgotten. We'd be happy to come back again.

Simply good food. Okay, except for the pickle yogurt soup... which wasn't good, but fantastic. You feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Service is quick and friendly.

For the first, but not the last, time, I was here with my family. We were greeted very warmly and immediately shown to our table. I thought it was so lovely because our name was beautifully written on a small blackboard. The menu is very concise, but the dishes are prepared with love. Even small requests for changes are absolutely no problem. We didn't have to wait long for our food. First came the side salad, which was a little magic. It looks very unassuming, but it has many small components that burst with freshness. My husband and I had the rump steak, my daughter a Wiener Schnitzel, and my son chicken breast. Absolutely flawless. The meat melted in our mouths, and the onions and mushrooms were a real treat. The cappuccino was a bit too strong for me, but that's just my opinion and has absolutely no influence on my positive opinion. The most important thing was the young lady who served us. Always a genuine smile, friendly and courteous, never pushy—she simply did her job perfectly. Kudos to her. (Everyone else was incredibly friendly, of course 🤗) In conclusion, it's a bit more expensive, but it's not your average meal either. We were glad to have stopped here and would like to thank the entire team. Now we're at home, rubbing our full stomachs. Best regards, Uwe and Ilona

A very nice restaurant with a great beer garden. Very good food.

A great inn with a wonderful outdoor area. After a hike along Lake Edersee, we stopped in and enjoyed an excellent meal. Even though we were very hungry, the portions were large enough to fill us up. The schnitzel is homemade and highly recommended!

Very disappointed with the menu at our usual hotel, we looked for an alternative for dinner five weeks ago and ended up at the Gasthaus Sauer. I've rarely been welcomed so warmly in a restaurant, and we as a group immediately felt at home. The menu was full of seasonal and non-seasonal delicacies, not overwhelming, but still with enough choices to suit all tastes. (The potatoes are even home-grown, which you could taste). The lovely Franzi and her colleague accompanied us throughout the evening and left no wishes unfulfilled. After we finished, the chef even sat down with us and shared a glass of wine. We were so enthusiastic about the food, the atmosphere, and the conviviality that we wanted to come back the following evening. When the chef of the inn found out that we wanted to play a draw to see who had to travel the next day and couldn't drink, he offered us a shuttle service from the hotel to the inn and back so we could all drink. Such hospitality is rare, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The second evening was just as wonderful as the first, and we'll definitely come back the next time we're in the area!

The food just wasn't great, especially the lack of seasoning, and some of the fries weren't cooked properly. Unfortunately, there were very few vegetarian options. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance could also be improved.

After a few years, we returned to Gasthaus Sauer. The first time, we had roast goose, which was very good. Today we had asparagus and Jägerschnitzel, everything was excellent and tasted very good... oh yes, the rump steak is also highly recommended. Next time won't be years away...

Exceptional! We spontaneously ended up at this restaurant because our meal at the hotel was unfortunately not good. Franzi, the magical waitress, welcomed us so warmly and accompanied us throughout the evening. The food was absolutely delicious! The chef sat down with us for a glass of wine, and we had a lovely chat. The next day, we wanted to go back straight away and try the rest of the menu :) Since we wanted to have a drink, the chef offered us a transfer from the hotel and back. Exceptionally hospitable :) The second evening was, of course, fantastic again! Franzi had finished work long ago but still stayed, and we had such a great time. Thank you so much for everything!!

I've rarely felt so welcome! We wished we could have taken the waitress (our Franzi) home with us. The manager provided us with a free shuttle from our hotel and back. And the man can cook... oh my goodness! We had excellent food and service two evenings in a row. I will miss you! You are such warm and friendly people, something we unfortunately rarely experience these days!

If you cycle around the Edersee, you almost pass the Gasthaus Sauer. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly and quick.

Went there for dinner today. In the beautiful sunshine we were able to enjoy the very tasteful outdoor area or as it is also called, the beer garden. A beautifully designed menu offered a very good selection of dishes to suit every taste. In addition to the really good food without artificial flavors, which was plentiful, you have to mention the dark beer, very tasty. The dessert, a recommendation from the innkeepers, men's cream with orange, was also a great surprise. Here you still feel like a guest!! We'd love to come back.

Service very good and friendly, food delicious, prices adjusted. If you want to go out to eat at the Edersee, and not just go camping with the crowd that goes with it, the inn is the good place. Great! The interior design/ambience, well. It's not 1983 anymore! Even for the Hessian mountains, time does not stand still. Therefore, clear out properly and create an atmosphere that is appropriate to the times. Individual 4-fold experience.

I have rarely eaten such a crispy yet juicy, buttery goose. A huge compliment to the kitchen.

We occasionally visit a friend in Asel. When I called Gasthaus Sauer for the first time and asked if I could get something vegan in the restaurant, I was met with "yes of course, that's no problem!" replied. I definitely didn't expect that. Unfortunately there is no dish on the menu, but I've always been full and I've always been offered different options. I find that quite remarkable for a country inn in a community of 200 souls.

Very committed family business with a seasonal and modern menu. You can tell that a lot of love and competence goes into the hospitality and food preparation. Thank you for the surprisingly nice experience. I felt very comfortable. A big little star on the Edersee.

Great restaurant. We were there for dinner with 14 people on Good Friday. There was a fish buffet for 37.50 euros per person, no snapper but the selection was great. We felt very comfortable and would definitely like to come back. There is plenty of free parking and the toilets are clean and tidy. Unfortunately we cannot show up for the Tappas evening. We recommend.

The 1/2 whole to pick up with dumplings, red cabbage, soup and dessert was simply fantastic. Everything was packed very well and was still hot when we tasted it at home. We look forward to the next visit on site.

Lecker und freundliches Personal

Der Service war aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Die Ausstattung ist leider in die Jahre gekommen und sollte nach Möglichkeit mal erfrischt werden. Wir hatten 3 x Rouladen und einmal Gemüsenudeln. Ich empfehle, dass der Koch sich mal an den Tisch setzt und dann diesen Teller bestellt. Gekochtes Gemüse (frost) Nudeln mit Salzmangel und Sosse. War leider kein Erlebnis, schon von der Optik nicht. Dazu viel zu viel. Die Rouladen waren gut, leider etwas sehr viel Piment und der Geschmack ging dadurch verloren. Die Semmelknödel dazu waren gut vom Geschmack, es wäre noch besser gewesen - in einer Pfanne kurz in Butter angebraten- ein voller Erfolg. Die Sosse zur Roulade war eher Gelantine- zur Sosse fehlten nur ein paar Arbeitsschritte. Auch wenn es ländlicher Raum ist, die Portionsgrösse sollte angepasst werden. Ansonsten ein schöner Abend.

Wild-Buffet war sehr lecker, leckere Suppe vorweg, große Vielfalt an verschiedenen Fleischarten, verschiedenen Gemüsesorten, leckere Salate und großartigen Nachspeisen

Wir waren gestern hier sehr Abendessen. Kartoffelsuppe und Rindsrouladen, beides sehr lecker. Die Mitarbeiterinnen waren sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Innenausstattung des Lokals, jedenfalls im vorderen Teil ist absolut veraltet. Künstliche Bäume, Weinranken..... nicht sehr schön.

Waren heute das zweite Mal (sogar mit Hund) hier und haben vorzüglichen Abend verbracht. Preis Leistung passt, vor allem freundlich und zuvorkommend. Gerne wieder. Schön das es in der Gegend noch ein so schönes Restaurant gibt was mittlerweile fast 110 Jahre durchgehalten hat.

Hier waren wir im Anschluss an unsere Diamantenen Konfirmation zum Essen. Es war alles sehr stimmig. Die Mitarbeitenden waren waren sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und kompetent. Familie Sauer war ein guter Gastgeber für unsere Feier. Ich kann das Restaurant sehr weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren heute das zweite Mal im Gasthaus Sauer. Wir waren auch diesmal vollends zufrieden. Der Service ist vollumfänglich wunderbar. Für unseren Hund haben wir sofort und ohne Nachfrage einen frischen Napf Wasser bekommen. Es wurde sich mehrmals erkundigt ob alles in Ordnung ist oder wir noch etwas brauchen. Das Essen ist frisch zubereitet, selbst das Schnitzel klopfen in der Küche konnte man hören. Der Gastraum und auch der Biergarten sind gemütlich. Somit eine klare Empfehlung von uns.

Wir sind sehr herzlich empfangen worden! Auch das Ambiente hat uns sehr eingeladen. Auf die Extrawünsche meiner Tochter ist sehr liebevoll eingegangen worden. Das Essen hat uns beiden hervorragend geschmeckt und es war so reichlich, dass wir uns die Reste einpacken ließen. Vielen Dank für die tolle Erfahrung!

Leider haben wir dieses gemütliche Gasthaus erst an unserem letzten Urlaubstag entdeckt. Sehr freundlicher, aufmerksamer und kinderfreundlicher Service. Das Essen war hervorragend. Wir haben uns schnell von der Saisonkarte mit frischen Pfifferlingen überzeugen lassen und haben es nicht bereut. Es war ein kulinarisch hervorragender Abschluss für unseren Urlaub.
