Great restaurant! Perfect for a couple or large gatherings. This was our first "traditional" German meal on your trip. We ordered dinner salads, Schnitzel with potatoes. We shared the dish and you can see in the picture how large the portions are! I didn't know that Schnitzel with horseradish was a thing but gave it a go! We had great service, very polite and friendly servers. The restaurant has just a really nice feel to it. I definitely recommend it.

The schnitzel was large, but the taste was just okay (turkey schnitzel). Service was not good at all. First, they forgot my schnitzel, then brought the salad after the meal 🤷‍♀️

We were here for the first time today. Four schnitzels, each one better than the last. The waiter always had a cool saying on his lips. That alone was worth the visit. So thank you for that 👍🏽 A thoroughly enjoyable visit. The food was excellent. We will definitely return.

Pleasantly surprised at atmosphere - live music guitar on a Friday evening Prices average Server had no time to answer a couple questions re menu except to tell us the Schweinebraten and 2 of the 8 wines were out Putenschnitzel was HUGE but not thoroughly cooked in parts and potato-cucumber salad was undercooked also - accompanying mushroom sauce was delicious To note: server dropped the charge for our drinks upon seeing that the one meal wasn’t a bit underdone

We had two Cordon Bleus, one Wiener Schnitzel, a cheeseburger, a soup, and a vegan plate. Everyone enjoyed their meal! The service was super friendly! The ambiance deducted one star because we were seated in a rather crowded area, but the restaurant itself is super cozy.

Here at the Maxhof, they have the best schnitzels. Not just because of their size, but also because they taste great. Other dishes are also great, like the cevapcici... The beer garden and the restaurant invite you to linger. I always enjoy coming here, even though it's not around the corner from the Allgäu region.

We stayed at the Maxhof in Munich and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. We were assigned a table without being asked, and later taken away again. The service seemed very stiff and unaccommodating—plainly unfriendly, even though a little flexibility could have accommodated the situation. Not a place we would recommend.

We were here today to eat the schnitzel praised on TikTok. We were in the beer garden, which unfortunately reeked of a dog toilet at regular intervals. The server was friendly and accommodating. The food, Cordon Bleu with potato salad and cucumber with a side salad, wasn't bad, just a bit lacking in dressing. I really enjoyed the Cordon Bleu, but the potato salad wasn't my cup of tea. It had a distinct flavor, like it had been laced with vanilla. Otherwise, it was due to the season: there were a lot of flies in the beer garden. I have to correct my review. The smell was unfortunately due to a human error. Therefore, the beer garden is very nice in terms of location and size.

Good Burger and decent food. Waiters were also friendly. We tried sitting outside with our little kid, but ended up moving inside because there were 3+ tables next to us with smokers.

The food was okay at best. The bread for the cevapcici was unfortunately not fresh. The service was poor.

One star deducted because there were a "dangerous" number of branches lying around in the beer garden for children. Three adults were there a week ago. Absolutely inexpensive for Munich standards and absolutely delicious! Our server was very attentive, and the food arrived quickly, even though the garden was very busy. We'll definitely be back!

I had the vegetarian burger (daily special for €20) with fries. It was very good. A cheese-based burger. The fries were freshly fried.

Unfortunately, the food was not good at all. Service was incredibly slow and unfriendly. We weren't asked if we wanted anything else to drink, nor whether we enjoyed our meal. The value for money is absolutely terrible.

We were at the quaint, hearty Gasthof Maxhof on Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The service was super friendly. The food was amazing, plentiful, and delicious. We finished off with two Julischka sausages, mmm.

We just ate here. Burgers for the teens and schnitzel for the parents. For dessert, we had Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes) and Bavarian cream. Everything was very good, nice beer garden, and very friendly service.

Lots of online marketing with little reality. The food is mediocre at best, lacking much flavor, but the prices are high. A nice beer garden and very friendly service, but that's about all the positive things I can say about it. I might come here again for a bite to eat and a drink.

The Maxhof actually has all the makings of a beautiful, classic beer garden – large trees, a cozy location, and plenty of space. But unfortunately, the concept has changed dramatically: the menu is extremely meat-heavy, almost overloaded. Vegetarian or lighter options are almost completely absent. We had the antipasti platter – unfortunately, it came with a thick, heavy ham that seemed more like a cold cut than a fine appetizer. We would have expected wafer-thinly sliced, high-quality produce. Otherwise, too much, too heavy, and too little fine craftsmanship. The infrastructure and location offer so much – it's a shame that the potential isn't being utilized for a traditional, open-air beer garden as we used to know it: with self-service, beer, and snacks under chestnut trees. Less meat, more atmosphere, and a bit of heart and soul would really be desirable here.

I'm truly impressed. I ate there with a colleague after returning from Italy. We were served by a very attentive server, the food arrived in a respectable amount of time, and it took less than two minutes to get our drinks. I had the turkey schnitzel with fried potatoes. I have to say, I've never eaten such a delicious schnitzel in my life. The fried potatoes were also delicious. I highly recommend it to everyone! 10/10.
