Great restaurant, good food, super friendly service, prices totally reasonable (venison ragout €18, pizza €8), lavishly decorated seasonally, the kids were given small blackboards with chalk and everyone received a small sweet as a farewell treat—I can't think of anything negative to say.

We decided to come spontaneously, as I always check Google reviews. The ambiance surprised us a bit, as we were expecting something more "traditional." Yes, it was a lot, but it was very cozy, warm, informal, and open. We quickly felt at home. The waiters were very friendly. The food came very quickly, and the portions were very generous. Which doesn't bother me 😅 But everything was delicious, and we were completely impressed and satisfied, from the starter and main course to dessert. A definite recommendation 👍🏻

It was our first time there, but we loved it from the start. The service is very friendly and the food is excellent. Unfortunately, I only realized too late that I hadn't taken a photo beforehand to post proof here. But even without a photo, we can say that we would come back anytime, if possible. It's important to be quite hungry here so you don't end up leaving half of your food.

We stopped at the Eisernes Kreuz for dinner on our way to Lake Garda. The food was fantastic, and the price was quite reasonable! I had goulash with spaetzle...a dream! The cordon bleu and the sauerbraten were also simply delicious! The value for money is very good. Highly recommended!

After our first, very pleasant visit, we returned to the "Eisernes Kreuz" two days later. There were three of us each time and we ate a total of six different dishes. All the dishes were very tasty and plentiful. Almost every dish comes with a mixed salad, which is also very tasty. The menu is large enough that everyone should be able to find something. The waiters are very friendly and attentive. They often ask if everything is okay and if there are any requests. The value for money is definitely good. The ambiance and decor are, of course, a matter of taste, but we liked it (lots of decorations and pictures). We were on vacation in Kempten. If we ever go there again, we now know where to go for a good, enjoyable meal.

Great inn, you can easily get your fill here and yes, there is a lot of decoration in the dining room, but it is for sale.

The decor in the entrance area is a matter of taste, but if you don't let that put you off, you'll get an excellent meal in the cozy beer garden at reasonable prices and with super friendly service. The spare ribs were delicious. We'll be back. Highly recommended!

The service was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, we had to wait 110 minutes for the food. That's pretty extreme with children! The schnitzel was very good, the cordon bleu a bit tasteless, and the meat from the grill was dry. Maybe we just had a bad day, but we'll probably hold off on a second visit...

We spontaneously went there for the first time today and spent a wonderful evening in the beer garden. The atmosphere was lovely, the food absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Both the roast pork and roast beef were truly amazing, and the walnut ice cream for dessert was also excellent. The service is extremely friendly. We would definitely recommend it to people we like! We'll be happy to come back!

A very good restaurant, very delicious food. Even my mother, who doesn't usually like these dishes, found it very delicious.

The ambiance is definitely a matter of taste; the interior is very kitschy and over-the-top. The beer garden in the back courtyard makes a pleasant impression. The pricing of the drinks and food is astonishing. Aperol Spritz and Limoncello Spritz cost €5.50, and a 0.5l beer costs €4. The extremely large portion of cheese spaetzle with mixed side salad costs just under €13. It tastes very good, even the roasted onions are clearly homemade. The Cordon Bleu with fries and mixed side salad costs €19.90. It also tastes very good. The portions are huge. We're used to paying €6-7 for a side salad of this size and variety at other restaurants. We're only here on vacation, but we'll definitely remember this place and come back. We highly recommend it. The extremely positive reviews were a bit of a surprise, but we visited nonetheless and can only confirm these reviews. We'd be happy to come back.

Great, friendly and attentive people in service, nice, cozy atmosphere. We had pork fillets and beef goulash, followed by probably the best chocolate mousse outside (and within) France. Absolute insider tip for fans of hearty home cooking like grandma's. At first the guesthouse is a bit “kitsch” and furnished differently, but it’s actually totally rustic and cozy. The waitresses are all more than nice and absolutely attentive. The entire menu is absolutely great, a clear insider tip in and around Kempten. Classic dishes, various roasts with dumplings/spätzle and red cabbage, buttery meat, portions that fill you up, the chef is an absolute expert. You rarely get something like that these days. Absolutely great, the price is also absolutely right, it's not for nothing that the store has 4.9 stars...

I have been to several Bavarian local restaurants and Eisernes Kreuz is at the top with food quality, ambience (a restaurant full of friendly locals, decorated in local style), the service is superb, cordiality, positivity, professionalism, communication, from arrival to departure, especially the waitress . Top recommendation!

We went there for dinner today with 4 adults and 4 children. Everyone was enthusiastic about the food, the ambience but above all the warmth. An extraordinary location, absolutely recommended, but take some time.

I went to the restaurant because of the review. OK, the food is good but I don't think it's good to wait over an hour for my food. I find it particularly sad that there isn't even an apology. Sorry, we're sorry would have been enough for me. You can argue about the ambience, it's too much stuff for me. Sorry good food but......

On the recommendation of a good friend, he and another friend went there for a “men’s evening”. Heard a lot of positive things. Upon entering, I had a "deco flash" - someone had gone wild! :-) The place was very tight for a taller person! Luckily we reserved seats, but we were able to move us because I was sitting in the way. Very friendly, courteous staff, drinks very quickly! Food took a while. 2x schnitzel with fries, 1x three little pigs. Very tasty, but with a price of over 14 euros for a schnitzel, the portions could have been a little larger, or at least a handful more fries. In addition to the bill there were 2 chocolate sweets for everyone. I probably won't go there again as it doesn't have a unique selling point (for me, as a bigger man with the corresponding hunger).

We just had dinner with 7 people at the Eisernes Kreuz inn. From the greeting to the farewell, everything was just right. The food and service were as good as you can rarely enjoy today. Big praise at this point. The prices are more than fair. All 7 people were thrilled. The only drawback, but again fair for the quality of the food, was the slightly longer waiting time. But you're happy to accept that.

It was a very pleasant and delicious meal

S U P E R! Very good food, freshly prepared and also: enough. Very reasonable prices for delicious food. We had the spare ribs and the pork schnitzel with cognac sauce, with salads and fries. Each with a giant glass with half a liter of beer and half a liter of Coca Cola. Together for less than € 39.00.... and you can pay with Pay Pal, but not with a bank card! This is how they pay attention to the little ones. But it paid off, the place was almost full. It wasn't even 6pm yet! A really nice local place with some people from the neighborhood having fun eating and drinking. That's always a good sign!

Because of the many positive reviews, we went to the “Iron Cross” in Kempten-Durach on Sunday evening. And what should I say? Simply great, can't be topped. The portions are really big, a taste you can eat and the price is really reasonable, very low for the large portions. And very important: the service staff are super nice, always up for a joke and respond to every customer request straight away. All in all, definitely recommended.
