Es war ein unglaublich toller Abend mit leckerem Essen und toller Bedienung. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit der Auswahl an Speisen und dem Service. Vor allem die Cocktails & Bärenspritz sind sehr zu empfehlen! Unser Highlight waren auf jeden Fall die frittierten Maultaschen ;) PS: Auch für Geburtstage eine tolle Wahl, da man sogar mit Unterstützung seines Freundeskreises ein Tischfeuerwerk mit Shots bekommt! Vielen Dank nochmal für Alles - wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Cozy atmosphere, nice, quick service, a bit loud at times. Food is always a matter of taste, but for us it was far too greasy and there were hardly any vegan options.

We were in Stuttgart today for an event and reserved a table in Bären. The reception was friendly and our waiter was very humorous and attentive. We really like the concept because we like to eat tapas and “tasters”. I can't understand some of the negative recessions. Tapas are small dishes of which several are ordered. This guarantees satiety. My husband is 1.96cm tall and simply ordered more, he was full. The price is absolutely appropriate. There was a lot of staff in business, we were there from around 3:20 p.m. and little by little more staff came into the restaurant, which was certainly needed for the evening. This staff costs money because if there are no staff, then there are fewer guests. Who else is going to cook or serve them? Who else is supposed to prepare the tables or wash the dishes for the next guests? We will come again with friends. Thanks for the great afternoon By the way, the “toilet sound system” is really funny. We've never experienced anything like this before.

As tourists, we wanted to eat Swabian, but with a bit of a twist. We enjoyed everything in the bear; nice atmosphere, fine food, a nice local wine list, and everything at a fair price. After the main course we wanted to order dessert - the waiter said it was too quick and we should play a round of cards first - and brought a set of UNO playing cards... Be sure to reserve a table.

Overall we weren't impressed. We were there on a Saturday evening and it was very busy. You sit very close together and it was very loud. Unfortunately, the food was only lukewarm, nothing hot. The recommended 2-3 tapas per person will not satisfy any adult, neither woman nor man. (We had 3 per person). Overall, very, very expensive. However, the staff was very friendly throughout and the food came quickly.

We stopped by the Bären for a Swabian tapas evening. You should definitely make a reservation on the weekends. All dishes are very tasty and the Maultaschen are homemade or definitely of a higher quality. The concept of the bear building the menus in school notebooks and ordering the tapas yourself on the order sheets is simple and something different. Food is brought to the table promptly so that all hot food at the table was warm. In some cases the prices for the small dishes are slightly higher, and you also pay a bit for the location. Hence 4 stars. Paying by card was no problem, the cocktails were delicious and the service was friendly - despite the restaurant being full.

Absolutely great!!! Great food and totally super cool friendly team. It was a joy for body and soul. We are already looking forward to our next visit to the Gasthaus Bären.

The restaurant has the Spanish sweet concept with small portions served in pans (tapas). Unfortunately, they weren't even full, so you would definitely expect more for the price. The costs are simply too high - actually a pan should cost maybe half as much to be fair. The taste of the food was mediocre, so nothing special that would justify the high price. The friendly service is positive, but overall the price-performance ratio is simply not right here. Afterwards we went somewhere else to eat because we were still very hungry, even though we had already spent almost €30 p.p. had issued.

Great concept, nice service, great ambience. A lot of things were very tasty, but the food/cooking water was often missing a pinch of salt. Dear Bear Cooks, I know bears are a bit clumsy when it comes to courtship, but being a little more in love would certainly bring even better reviews for the inn. You know the expression, right??? :) Good luck and the concept is 1A, keep it up. 🙏

Outrageously small portions for a lot of money. Rather disappointing in taste.

We visited the Bären for the first time with a larger group and it was GREAT. The quality of the food, the really cheap price in my opinion and the great, calm service. Great all around and we will all be back. Unfortunately, we were relatively late and the table was very, very full with the delicious Swabian delicacies, all of which (and we had almost everything) were great without exception. Next time we'll come by 7 p.m. at the latest so that we can eat over a longer period of time and don't have to order everything at once. The great concept seems to have gotten around, so we recommend making an early reservation as the restaurant is always fully booked. Clear recommendation!

It was our first time there because we come from the Odenwald :) and I'm so thrilled😍 it was by far the best restaurant visit of my life. The service was great, absolutely friendly, funny and in a chatting mood. The food was world class. Everyone should have been there. Even going to the toilet was different😂with a funny radio play and interesting equipment including toiletries. We thank you for this great experience😘

The service is very friendly and nice. The food is completely overpriced. For two small meatballs (mini meatballs) you pay €8! (See picture attached) The concept used to be good and the prices around €5 were reasonable. Today one can only speak of significant overpricing with less than average quality of food.

Very tasty, varied food. First class staff, professional hospitality. I loved listening to Peppa Wust in German in the toilet, great gag! :) The place is popular, it is recommended to book a table in advance. If I return to Stuttgart, I will definitely come here again.

The concept of Swabian tappas completely convinced us. Friendly staff and free house schnapps before and after your meal ;) The food is delicious, but in my opinion the portions could have been smaller and cheaper. Otherwise it would be difficult for two people to try their way through the menu.

I went at 7:30 and it was full. I went to another restaurant because I was told I would have to wait 30-45 minutes. The waiter still treated us kindly. It's a pity, but I want to come back and try it next time. Make a reservation and go!!

disappointing. the service was nice and attentive. The concept with the Swabian tapas is absolutely great - and the reason for our visit. Selection is i. O. But: the dishes were all lukewarm to cold, the taste was average at best, and by no means appropriate for the price level. When the waitress asked, we mentioned that the food wasn't warm. We were then offered compensation in the form of a coffee. After speaking to the restaurant manager, we didn't get this, nor any explanation. It's incomprehensible why it was offered at all, and the invoice wasn't adjusted either. Conclusion: no culinary highlight, mass processing and a restaurant manager who does not consider it necessary to respond to feedback. We won't come back,

A good option to experience a typical German restaurant. Good variety on the menu, excellent location, great bar and good service. The space is decorated in a typical pub/bar/restaurant style. Very pleasant. I recommend it.

The service was friendly. The price-performance ratio is disappointing: the portions are not only disproportionately small, but also unsatisfactory in quality. Classic Swabian dishes, which should normally impress with their taste, were surprisingly bland and more reminiscent of canteen food. The price for tap water, which is charged at €5, is particularly unreasonable. In addition, the layout of the space is not very inviting - the tables are so close together that it is almost unavoidable to touch other guests when you want to reach your seat. The overall ambience gives the impression of mass processing, which also detracts from the experience. There is an urgent need for improvement here in many respects.

The restaurant offered an exceptional dining experience with delicious food and a warm atmosphere. A special mention to the three Greek waiters, whose impeccable service, kindness, and professionalism truly elevated our visit. Highly recommended!

We were a large group of 9 people. No problem with advance reservation. Food good as usual. I always enjoy coming back.

After a lovely evening at this bar, I can assure you that the German food is some of the best in the world. The bar is perfectly located in the city centre. All the waiters and waitresses are very friendly and pleasant. I especially recommend the meat with sauce, and the Spätzle among several other delicacies.

Loved the food and the atmosphere. It’s a little different from a traditional restaurant. Here you order with your dining partners, sharing each dish. It was all traditional Swabian food and carefully prepared with great ingredients. We had a lovely cheese platter paired with jam and grapes, spatzel, sauerkraut, pot roast, bacon fried potatoes and beet salad and it was a good amount for two adults with big appetites who hadn’t eaten all day. Highly recommend!

Good selection of Swabian cuisine in (mostly) small plates; good choices for omnivores and vegetarians. Visited December 2024. We ordered too much food (very easy to do) but it was all quite good. the roasted potatoes with salmon was seasoned nicely with tender chunks of salmon. The other dishes we ordered arrived quickly. There's a good drink selection with some interesting cocktails. We didn't have a reservation on account of an early dinner but if arriving after 1900 or with a large group, reservations are recommended.

The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, rustic and cozy, so you immediately feel at home. The Swabian tapas offer a great opportunity to try out Swabian cuisine. The service leaves nothing to be desired, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. A perfect place for a relaxed evening with great food and atmosphere.

We spontaneously had dinner here and were able to get a seat without a reservation, even though there was a lot of activity (apparently company Christmas parties). The principle of the inn is based on that of a tapas bar. You order small dishes that you can then share. Everyone gets a plate and can take any of the dishes ordered. The highlight: there are regional dishes including cheese spaetzle, bread dumplings, Maultaschen and co. My partner and I really enjoyed the evening at Gasthaus Bären and would like to give them high praise and a big recommendation. If we're ever in the area again, we'd love to come back.

So wonderfully uncomplicated Swabian. You can come there solo, as a couple or in groups and live and experience social behavior. Magnificent idea

Unfortunately, many of the dishes are not really Swabian and it is also quite expensive, but there is a nice atmosphere and attentive service

We were traveling in Stuttgart as tourists and spontaneously decided to go out for dinner there on Friday. After a call we were told that we could come by at 9 p.m. As soon as we were there we realized why we couldn't just drop by. The ambience was great despite the full restaurant. The food was simply a dream as good as I have ever eaten there. Even if we have to drive about 500km we will definitely come back.

The evening started very well, the dishes were good, the waitress was nice, but suddenly the couz' completely gave up on us, went to eat and completely forgot about us for 45 minutes. Too bad, we could have dropped a big one... Kisses

Beautiful atmosphere! Really good Swabian food and delicious drinks. We were also welcomed with a welcome drink. There is a good mood in every corner, the waiters are all really friendly and communicative. We also really liked that the portions weren't too big and the prices were very reasonable! If you want to eat more, you can order a little more. I would love to come back!

The food is okay, the service is exceptionally good. Attentive, courteous and discreetly present at all times. Unfortunately it is very loud and you can't have a conversation without screaming.

We had a great evening with very good food. Everything Swabian cuisine has to offer in medium-sized tapas variations. If you listen to the waiters, 2-3 tapas dishes will fill you up well. Particularly noteworthy is the exceptionally good and more than attentive service, which reads your every wish...highly recommended!

A charming restaurant with an original Swabian tapas concept. Our five dishes were served almost simultaneously and were consistently delicious. Unfortunately, our table had very little space for it and was placed a bit narrowly between others. But the service made up for it: the welcome schnapps was not only delicious, but was also served to us again upon request when we said goodbye

Found by chance, but a great concept. There are basically Swabian tapas. The quality of the food was top, nothing more can be said about it. Everything tasted fresh and high quality. The service looked chaotic at first because there were so many waitresses running around, but everyone knew what they were doing. An absolute recommendation in Stuttgart. Definitely coming back.

Baren is a great restaurant, they have tapas to share and they are yummy. Ordered a few tapas from the menu, beef one, egg one, pork and couple of vegetarians. Loved all of them. A must visit for Bavarian hospitality and beers.

I like the concept and the service was excellent. The menu is also well done, but the quality of the food itself could be improved. For example, there was far too much vinegar on one of the dishes, and another was significantly too salty.

Absolutely great dining place with fantastic music and vibes all over. I was greeted by the Owner who is so friendly and helped made it a very pleasant stay. Alice was the Hostess taking care of my table and she offered a 10/10 service and recommendations on all the famous and traditional dishes of the region. It is highly recommended and a great vibe for everyone, single people to.large party groups.

The service was great, but the food didn’t justify the high prices. We ordered several dishes, and the cost was shocking—€8.50 for Rindsroulade (despite the menu listing it as "Rouladen," they only served one). It was a small portion, roughly 4cm x 11cm, and the taste was just average, nothing memorable. The spätzle was bland due to a lack of seasoning. While the tapas-style menu is a good concept, the quality doesn’t live up to the steep prices.

A great restaurant with a great idea behind it that in my opinion doesn't exist in Stuttgart, the food is top notch and the quality is top notch. Very good service, no long waiting times, every wish was fulfilled, everything was clean. The owner is very friendly and communicative at the same time, and some other restaurant owners can learn something from him. We'll definitely be back. It would make sense to reserve in advance as it is quite crowded in the evenings.

7/10 Small portions, but that’s not a bad thing, as it gives you the opportunity to try different local dishes in small amounts. Cold Schwarzwald cake in a glass was a disaster :(

Today I was out in Stuttgart again with two friends after a long time. We had a great evening with food and drink in a pleasant atmosphere! Janne, our waiter, was really cool. Even though there was a lot going on, he ensured a great evening with a pleasant relaxed attitude and a high level of professionalism!

Very tasty food with a short waiting time & friendly service. However, the prices are very expensive for the quantities you get.

I can only recommend it. We were there for tapas in the evening. Two tapas per person was more than enough and was very tasty. The only point of criticism is the noise in the restaurant.

This is a great place to try lots of different local German dishes all in one meal. Careful, though, because it gets expensive if you aren’t sharing all the food. My favorite part is that they will bring you a BUCKET OF ICE. This is unheard of in Germany, and is a requirement on hot summer nights.

nice service, delicious drinks and nice ambience. Especially in summer when you can sit outside. And we were even offered 2 short ones each for free on the house.

Phew… We were very happy about this discovery because of the beautiful location and the cool concept. Unfortunately, we didn't have a single really good dish in our very large order. I think the tapas concept is good so that I can really try a lot. Unfortunately, all dishes in almost every German middle class restaurant are much tastier. Unfortunately we won't be coming here anymore.

Grape arbor on the market square is not recommended. Yesterday I came across the most unfriendly staff. Asked for a table. There were obviously 4 seats available at a half-reserved table. The only answer was “go somewhere else.” Ok….we did that. I have never been treated so arrogantly. I won't be visiting the restaurant again either.

It was super tasty, great concept and very nice service. Recommendation: breaded Maultaschen! We'll definitely be back. Also great for company dinners or Christmas parties.

Unfortunately, the bear in the wine village made a very sad picture. Completely overwhelmed staff, warm drinks, no wine coolers... and that with a reserved table! We will no longer come during the wine village.
