Gut bürgerliche Küche und eine super Abwechslung zu all den Hipster Lokalen ohne Bedienung und mit komischen Wörtern. Essen war sehr lecker und auch die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Preis Leistung top

Als ich mit meiner Frau vor etwa 15 Jahren dieses Lokal zufällig in Hamburg entdeckt habe, dachten wir, es sei ein echter Geheimtipp! Da es auch heute immer noch dort ist, ist das sicherlich nicht so. Auf jeden Fall gehört ein Besuch dort für uns zu jedem Hamburgbesuch, wie der Kiez, der Fischmarkt oder das Portugieserviertel. Während unseres viertägigen Aufenthalts in Deutschlands zweitgrößter Stadt waren wir dort zweimal zum Mittagessen eingekehrt. Die Speisen auf der Karte sind klassische, norddeutsche Küche gepaart mit einigen Schnitzel und Steakgerichten. Ich hatte den klassischen Seemannslabskaus und muss sagen, ich hatte noch nie einen besseren Teller! Nirgends! Beim zweiten Besuch wählte ich die klassische Grillhaxe vom Schwein und kann nur sagen, sie war perfekt zubereitet und kann sogar mit der beim "alten Fritz" in Rostock mithalten und allein das will schon was heißen. Das Personal arbeitet sehr zügig, ist freundlich und immer hilfsbereit. Das Ambiente ist an uriger Gemütlichkeit kaum zu übertreffen. Wer in diesem Lokal einkehrt, wird es sicherlich nicht bereuen. Versprochen!

Lorsque nous visitons pour la première fois une ville, nous avons pour habitude de goûter la cuisine locale. Pour ce faire nous faisons confiance à la notation Tripadvisor. Cette fois, force est de constater que nous ne sommes pas du même avis. 4/5 selon Tripadvisor 2/5 pour nous. L’accueil est froid mais professionnel. Le carde est typique. La carte en anglais est différente de celle en allemand. Les plats choisis étaient sans goût, la sauce allongée à l’eau ne venait pas solutionner cela. Bref à force de sel et poivre nous sommes arrivés à la fin de nos plats. Nous n’y retournerons pas.

For our first lunch in Germany, we wanted to eat the real German food! The very good natured waitress picked for us "Pannfisch" and "Matjes Hausfrauenart." She said pannfisch is a salmon dish that has been a working-class staple, back from when salmon was cheap. Poor people got so sick of this dish! But that means they got very good at making it tasty. Of course, these days salmon is expensive and it’s not a cheap dish anymore. Incredible tasting, especially with the fried potatoes. The other one is matjes hausfrauenart, literally "housewife herring." She picked out this one for us because it is what she herself eats frequently. Virgin herring pickled in a barrel, etc. … I couldn’t follow all the technical details. It’s a pickled-tasting fish, with some sort of cream sauce and onions to balance it out. Loved it! Really incredible cook and service. Not a great photo though, sorry…

This is a great classic Hamburg restaurant that I highly recommend. It offers typical German and Hamburg dishes that are both delicious and affordable. The service is attentive and the ambiance is charming, with many dolls decorating the space, which surprisingly look quite fitting and add to the character of the place. In addition to the main menu, they also offer daily specials, which keep the dining experience fresh and interesting. There’s draft beer and a variety of other drinks to choose from. On our visit, we tried the sausage and herring with beetroot, and both were tasty and satisfying. If you’re looking for traditional Hamburg cuisine in a unique and cozy atmosphere, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

An inn to feel good with regional Hamburg cuisine. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. You sit in cozy corners, like in grandma's living room. The food was excellent and there wasn't a long wait. We had lobster soup (excellent) and Finkenwerder plaice (also delicious) Highly recommended - we'll be back.

There were 6 of us there and we all enjoyed the food. Fish and meat dishes were really tasty. For the small salad, the salad dressing was too vinegary for me, but that could just have been my taste. Our waitress was First class and the price-performance ratio is also quite ok.

Nice food, not crowded with guests. Not so many children. Nice flexibility with regard to changing the dish, e.g. request for a different sauce and other potatoes. Friendly staff.

Found it by chance and have now returned for the fourth time. The food was always very tasty, great fried potatoes that were also nice and crispy. Service very courteous and friendly. We were very satisfied every time.

This is a rather typical restaurant. It is mostly visited for lunch. They offer lunch menu. I like Matjes herring there in a piece of black bread. The sausage was too salty. Schnitzel is ok. But! A side dish, for example potatoes, should be paid separately. Salad Niçoise - Nizza salad- it nothing to do with a real Nizza salad. Some lettuce, mais, olives and tinned tuna. Potato salad was not good. The waitress is very friendly and helpful.

The food was amazing and we really enjoyed the conversation with our waitress. The beer is top notch- I highly recommend you stop in for a relaxed meal and drink.

Super nice service. The Labskaus tasted very tasty, but the consistency (it was porridge) was really too much for me. It would be great if you left the puree a little larger, you can chew it. This would be great for a retirement home.

Rustically furnished, delicious food and fast service, that's how it should be

Five of us had dinner there in the evening. Even though the restaurant was very full, everything went smoothly. The extremely friendly waitress brought very good food and always had a cheerful saying on her lips. The Loksl itself is absolutely worth seeing with its interior. We'd love to come back.

A very quaint restaurant. It's on a side street. The food was amazing. We ate there with 9 people. The drinks came shortly after ordering. We could all eat at the same time. The service is super nice. We would come again.

The place is overrated and you may get some "nice" unexpected and unwanted conversations with the staff there if you are not German or a person of color.

I almost screamed because of the doll at the entrance. lol The interior decoration looks very elaborate. The food is delicious and doesn't have the excessive saltiness typical of Hamburg. The staff who served our table was also friendly.

We happened to include the restaurant in our tour, initially just for a beer and then we had asparagus on the menu and ate here on the second day. It was very delicious! The service is very good and on point. The atmosphere is cool and interesting. Recommended :)

In short, nice German rustic...here there is honest, good food like grandma's, no fancy and no miki but nice, fast staff and simple, light, nice dishes (inn)

The food is generally really nice here and the service is good, too. We tried the seasonal dishes, which was asparagus for the main course and strawberries for dessert, both was tasty and the prices were fair for the amount of food we got. The only thing that bothered us a little was the time we had to wait for the dessert in the end and that it was generally a fairly loud compared to other restaurants. Still, all in all a very pleasant experience :)

In a side street, hidden under a building tarpaulin: one of the best locations in Hamburg's city center! We were there for lunch with 30 people - and absolutely loved it. In the middle, yet separated, we all found space; and were able to thoroughly enjoy the wonderful interior design of the guest room. Our (plenty of) orders were received very professionally and quickly by the “lady of the house”. The ordered food and drinks were on our tables in no time. The entire staff was quick and in a good mood. We all enjoyed it extremely well and felt very comfortable in the homely atmosphere. We'll be back next year! .... be sure to reserve in advance!

Very tasty food, the service is super friendly and on the ball. All in all, it took two people an hour. The dining room is very rustic and at the same time comfortably furnished.

Unfortunately we didn't like it at all. The Amrum fish plate consisted of 2 small pieces of very dry fish, 2 extremely small "giant" shrimps, also very dry. The potatoes were overcooked and undersalted. The “lobster sauce” served with it was sad and bland in taste. My mother had asparagus au gratin from the season menu. This consisted of overcooked asparagus buried under far too much ready-made hollandaise (which includes a sour taste for Tetrapack products). The announced smoked salmon was cooked in the oven under the hollandaise and was unfortunately almost inedible (either you cook the salmon or serve it as smoked salmon, but you can't cook smoked salmon in the oven at the same time). This catastrophe of “food” was beyond good and bad in terms of price. 26.90 for the fish plate, almost 17.90 for the asparagus. At least there was an espresso as an apology. Despite everything, we will no longer end up in this establishment. Unfortunately that was nothing.

Waren nach langem mal wieder dort essen ! Lokal ist immer noch sehr gemütlich und urig ! Die Preise sind wie überall gestiegen! Der Salat war auch ok! Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Die Kartoffelsuppe war lecker.

Wir waren anlässlich des Weihnachtsmarktes in Hamburg. Hatten uns vorab auf Tripadvisor informiert und Plätze im Restaurant bestellt, was sich als notwendig erwies. Das urige Restaurant war sehr gut besucht, dennoch waren Service und Küche zuvorkommend und zügig. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Karte bot vieleregionale Gerichte. Sehr zu empfehlen, wir kommen wieder

Very tasty German cuisine, the employees all seem very friendly and in a good mood even late in the evening. The house plate is recommended; for dessert I had a particularly delicious Kaiserschmarrn. The prices are completely reasonable and you get large portions. I received very friendly answers to questions about how the food was prepared and the history of the restaurant. I noticed that the employees here were totally behind the restaurant. I would love to come back.

Years ago, this used to be a nice place to go to, especially later, eg after theatre or a concert. Now we tried it again, unfortunately with quite different results. Arriving at approx. 9.30 pm, we were told to hurry up. Ok, but was was to be served was graceless, to say the least. „ Bratkartoffeln“ was good, Sauergleisch and Matjes not at all. What a pity. Such places serving traditional food are so rare.

We always enjoy coming here, nice restaurant in the middle of the city. Original furnishings made to look old. The service is very friendly, sometimes it takes a while to get something to eat... but it's not a bad thing. The food is "home-style" and if you want to eat something hearty in the city without having to take out a small loan, you've come to the right place.

Empfehlung: Abends nicht ohne Tischreservierung. Wir waren mittwochs da, hatten auf Anraten eines Freundes zum Glück reserviert und das Gasthaus an der Alster war brechend voll. Speisen: Auf jeden Fall sollte man hier mal das Labskaus gegessen haben. Vorab wird man gefragt, wie viele Spiegeleier man denn gern hätte und wenn der Teller leer ist, wird noch ein Nachschlag angeboten. Die Portion ist allerdings immer ausreichend bemessen, so dass ich bei keinem meiner Besuche bisher einen Nachschlag gebraucht hätte. Und ansonsten einfach lecker. Service: Das Restaurant war gut ausgelastet, aber "unsere" Servicekraft (Andrea?) war jederzeit aufmerksam, zu Scherzen bereit und hat sich einfach für jeden Gast die Zeit genommen, die er brauchte. Klasse.

Nice, cozy inn in the middle of the city. Sometimes a lot of tourists. The food is down-to-earth and delicious. The portions are plentiful. The service staff were nice. The only drawback is the somewhat neglected path to the toilets, unfortunately it doesn't smell good there either. The toilets themselves are again very tidy. Correction to the above after another visit: The unpleasant smell has been completely eliminated. It's great that the team reacted so quickly. Unlimited enjoyment again in this friendly inn with full 5 stars
