After a long time, we went to the Fährhaus Tatenberg for dinner again. Before that, we had been bowling there regularly once a month for about 20 years. As always, we received very friendly and courteous service. Even the waitress from before was still there. And that speaks volumes about this restaurant. We hope this restaurant continues to do so well for a long time to come and thank you for the friendly service and the very, very delicious food. We visited in the afternoon by bike and enjoyed delicious cake and coffee outside. The menu was so exciting that we decided to come back. Overall, I can recommend the place!

We were invited there for dinner twice. It was fantastic. The service was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. The food tasted very good. The portion size was perfect, so there was just enough room for dessert, which was also good. There should be something for everyone on the menu. I certainly think the selection is great! Highly recommended!

Super nice owners; we spent two days there with our caravan. About 200 meters walk from the bus stop, which is an easy commute into Hamburg. Pitches are available for caravans, motorhomes, or tents. They have electricity and sanitary facilities.

There's nothing better around here! Everyone makes a lot of effort to satisfy their guests!

For decades, we've been going to the Fährhaus with our family whenever we're craving a delicious plaice. Yesterday I was there with friends. The weather was kind, and we were able to sit outside until the evening. From the farmer's breakfast to roast beef and fish, everything was delicious. Even though it was very busy due to the weather, the food arrived very quickly. Special requests and minor mix-ups were dealt with immediately. Your staff was always friendly and, despite the late hour, always up for a joke. I wish everyone a wonderful, well-deserved vacation. We made a last-minute reservation and came to see you after seeing a musical. It was fantastic! Both the service and the food. We spent a few days at the RV park and really enjoyed it. Everything you need is there, and if you have any questions, they're always there to help you. The breakfast was delicious, and the main courses were also very good. So, all in all: we'd love to come back!☺️

Nine of us spent two nights cycling at the Fährhaus over Pentecost 2025. We were all thrilled with everything! Great food, super friendly service (always with a smile until the end), four beers on tap(!), and a fantastic atmosphere! The rooms were also top-notch! And the prices were unbeatable. If we weren't always doing new tours at Pentecost, we would stay there again in a heartbeat. Many thanks to the manager and her team!

Absolutely...a very nice family-run guesthouse/hotel. We stayed for two nights, plus breakfast and dinner. The RV parking spaces are especially great, so you can also arrive as a mixed group.

We unexpectedly stopped here on a recommendation after a boat trip on the Elbe River before continuing on toward Frankfurt. We were warmly welcomed here as a small family by the very pleasant staff, generally fair prices, and a super child-friendly atmosphere. And just as important as the previous points: We enjoyed our meal, the dishes were adapted to our needs, and we were all full to continue our journey. Thank you very much!

Went here for a quick lunch on the way to Denmark. Really nice place, quick service. Not fast food speed, but you get something much more healthy that'll have you feel much better than highway restaurants. Traditional German dishes, can recommend to anyone looking for a good meal while travelling.

We went to the restaurant for lunch. The farmer's breakfast is not recommended. The fried potatoes were probably leftovers from the weekend. No seasoning and just soggy fried potatoes, the bacon was streaky and gristly. Not recommended. Herring with fried potatoes was also not enjoyable. It could be better!! The fried potatoes were soft and wobbly, bland, and flavorless. The Alster water was stale, or rather, they had skimped on the soda, which was apparently no longer carbonated. Not recommended.

We were at the Fährhaus at the Tatenberger Lock on Sunday. A very pleasant restaurant for what we call home-style cooking. Nice, cozy atmosphere, very friendly staff, and delicious food! The prices are also very reasonable.

Very tasty sauerfleisch (meat, unfortunately, the fried potatoes weren't crispy, but they were delicious). Belgian waffles with hot cherries and cream were unbeatably delicious. The homemade cake also looked very good. Very friendly staff and a cozy restaurant, also available for larger events.

The charm of the 1950s wafts through in terms of the food, decor, and clientele. The food is solid, but nothing more. A lot of it is standard, a lot of it average. Depending on where you sit, the air quality is bad and the view is poor. The fact that some of the clientele consists of shady Hamburg characters who use the space for hostile gatherings doesn't exactly make the place more pleasant.

Beautiful place. I was there with my campervan. The price was great, and the service was really great. Even with small children, it wasn't a problem (mine even had some toys brought to it for breakfast so the adults could chat for a few minutes). The prices for breakfast, pitch, electricity, and toilet were super reasonable. The toilet had a shower, everything was really nice and clean. We'd love to come back 🥰

My son and I were on the campsite near the ferry house with the WOMO at the weekend. The welcome and the place were so friendly, we have rarely experienced such a calm and relaxed reception. Open to all questions. The area around the pitch and the restaurant are so wonderfully quiet, clean and relaxing. We ate in the restaurant one evening. Everything great. Even special requests were fulfilled. Very friendly service. The hosts are very nice and open to all wishes. We'll be back!!!

We were in Hamburg with our motorhome for a long weekend and luckily we stayed in the parking space at the ferry house. Everyone is super friendly, the food in the restaurant is super tasty and inexpensive, and a bread roll service is offered in the morning. Bus lines to Hamburg can be reached in 10 minutes on foot (20 to 30 minutes drive), the taxi to the Harry Potter Theater costs around 30 euros. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back again.

We went for dinner with 5 people on Easter Sunday. Steak once, asparagus three times, panfish once. The ambience of the restaurant will remind everyone over 70 of the good old days. Bourgeois-rustic, quite comfortable. The service was attentive, friendly and responsive. The weak point is the food. Prices are good for the portion size. Steak was medium and tasted good. The weak points were the salad, which was drowned in sugary ready-made sauce instead of being offered with oil and vinegar, for example. Inedible. The hollandaise sauce came out of the bucket. Also difficult to enjoy. Pan fish could not be offered with fried potatoes without bacon. Reason: Special requests are not possible at Easter. Asparagus was steamed with way too much lemon. Therefore almost inedible. This might not have been noticeable with the hollandaise, but since a portion was eaten with melted butter, the lemon was even more noticeable. The cream of asparagus soup also gave the impression of convenience. If it was fresh, then it didn't taste that good. All in all we will only possibly come back.

We were on the way to the MJ Musical and wanted to eat beforehand. We reserved seats at the Fährhaus Stattenberg by email at 12 p.m. and I have to say that was the right decision. A restaurant with good connections and a beautiful location. The dining rooms are clean and very attractive. The staff is very nice and friendly. The order was taken quickly and it didn't take long for our food to be ready. The food was excellent and of very good quality. Everything freshly prepared and attractive portions. We had 4 meals, plus drinks, 2 cappuccinos, 1 espresso and 1 ice cream sundae. All together 120 €. A very good price-performance ratio. I recommend the Fährhaus Stattenberg with full conviction. Excellent food and first class service As soon as we entered the restaurant we were warmly welcomed and the cozy atmosphere immediately made us feel at home. The service was extremely attentive, always friendly and with a pleasant touch of humor - but by no means intrusive. The food was simply excellent. The pork medallions were perfectly cooked, tender as butter and delicious in terms of taste. There was also a delicious baked potato with sour cream and herb butter that had just the right amount of spice. The fresh mushrooms rounded off the dish wonderfully. To top it all off, I treated myself to the nut cup with eggnog - and it was a dream! Creamy, nutty and simply really delicious. Luckily the sundaes are served with two spoons, because after the excellent meal it was a challenge to manage it alone - much to my husband's delight. We felt completely at home in this restaurant and would love to come back. Absolute recommendation!

The ferry house at the Stattenberg lock is a guarantee for good food. We ordered two portions of smelt. Very tasty prepared i.e. crispy fried with fried potatoes and salad. But there are also a variety of other very tasty dishes that are also recommended. In terms of price, they are in the middle range. The restaurant is comfortably furnished. Very clean toilets!!

We arrived with the motorhome at the worst time ever. Sunday 6 p.m. Nevertheless, the operators took time for us and explained everything. The parking space and the paramedic facilities are great. The food we were able to eat in the motorhome because the tables were all reserved was very tasty. There is also a bread roll service. We'll definitely come back.

If you like typical German cuisine, you're in good hands here. Among other things, there are session-related dishes, e.g. in winter, kale and goose leg. The food and portion are fantastic. The prices are also perfectly fine. I enjoy coming here and will continue to visit with great pleasure. You can buy homemade jam here, among other things. There is a large free parking lot, which I think is great!

We went for brunch today. It was okay, but we wouldn't recommend it. Service really very friendly and helpful! The food selection is average. In our opinion, the negative thing is that there were no rolls, just baguette bread. After the basket was emptied, bread was added, but it was not baked. So soft and pully. A buffet line for so many people is not enough. Sometimes there was a very large queue of people. We sat in a plain room. So, all in all, not a nice trip.

A very outdated restaurant. The staff is mostly ok, but please no special requests! I've known the restaurant for a long time, the kitchen/food used to be good. Now it's mostly bad. Mass processing. If you like mushy fried potatoes, this is the place for you.

The food was very tasty, but we had to wait 2 hours on Christmas Day until we were served a starter. After that it took another three quarters of an hour until the main course arrived.

Food is good and prices are okay too. Sometimes the rooms are warm and stuffy.
