The ferry house at the Stattenberg lock is a guarantee for good food. We ordered two portions of smelt. Very tasty prepared i.e. crispy fried with fried potatoes and salad. But there are also a variety of other very tasty dishes that are also recommended. In terms of price, they are in the middle range. The restaurant is comfortably furnished. Very clean toilets!!

We arrived with the motorhome at the worst time ever. Sunday 6 p.m. Nevertheless, the operators took time for us and explained everything. The parking space and the paramedic facilities are great. The food we were able to eat in the motorhome because the tables were all reserved was very tasty. There is also a bread roll service. We'll definitely come back.

Very pleasant restaurant for so-called good home cooking. A suitable selection of dishes and seasonal offers. The service was always top during my visits. Even with large groups, they manage to get everyone to eat together. The large parking lot and the options to eat outside in summer are positive. The ferry house is correspondingly well attended. Of course, we like to stop by from time to time throughout the year.

If you like typical German cuisine, you're in good hands here. Among other things, there are session-related dishes, e.g. in winter, kale and goose leg. The food and portion are fantastic. The prices are also perfectly fine. I enjoy coming here and will continue to visit with great pleasure. You can buy homemade jam here, among other things. There is a large free parking lot, which I think is great!

We went for brunch today. It was okay, but we wouldn't recommend it. Service really very friendly and helpful! The food selection is average. In our opinion, the negative thing is that there were no rolls, just baguette bread. After the basket was emptied, bread was added, but it was not baked. So soft and pully. A buffet line for so many people is not enough. Sometimes there was a very large queue of people. We sat in a plain room. So, all in all, not a nice trip.

A very outdated restaurant. The staff is mostly ok, but please no special requests! I've known the restaurant for a long time, the kitchen/food used to be good. Now it's mostly bad. Mass processing. If you like mushy fried potatoes, this is the place for you.

The food was very tasty, but we had to wait 2 hours on Christmas Day until we were served a starter. After that it took another three quarters of an hour until the main course arrived.

We stayed at the Fährhaus in our motorhome for four days and felt really comfortable. Great parking space close to the city, super nice boss, excellent cuisine in the restaurant with very friendly staff.. The pitch has electricity and, if desired, access to a bathroom with shower/toilet...everything is very well maintained and clean! I can 100% recommend the place to anyone who wants to explore HH with a motorhome.

We were in Hamburg for 6 days and decided to stay in the Machenberger Fährhaus. The rooms are well equipped and nothing is missing. The breakfast is sufficient and very tasty and you receive a friendly welcome. The accommodation is in a very quiet and beautiful location and yet you can quickly reach Hamburg directly by bus. The accommodation is definitely recommended, we will definitely come back again.

Hello friends. This time we came here. It is divided into two areas. Gastro and overnight stay. I didn't know that before, but it actually has its advantages. So. Now my impression. Check-in went completely smoothly. We immediately liked the staff (I only use this term because it is short) there. If you act normal - and unfortunately not everyone can - these people will do everything for you. Being low maintenance and "normal", we had a great time there. Even when I asked if we could stay another night, we were taken care of immediately - we received a "yes". We also had really great conversations with the staff; ones that went outside the box. We immediately had a good rapport with the boss. She is a person who reveals herself to you as you approach her. Behave and be natural AND authentic, then you will also see this person with a great sense of humor who, before us, never let the boss out. Overall, the people on site were a great bunch who made our stay a lovely and relaxing time. The breakfast was delicious, there was something for everyone. You can even get a delicious cappuccino or similar stimulant. The normal guest doesn't want anything more. The accommodation was comfortable, we had a view of the marina - beautiful! We have already threatened that we will come back... An absolute insider tip. Be normal and you will have a great time there. Would be a nice advertising slogan: “Be normal, we guarantee you a nice time here” I would sign that immediately. We had to book one or two places for breakfast ad hoc - it wasn't a problem since we had breakfast outside of core times. Thank you again, because it was extremely important to us. Recommended not only for overnight guests, but especially when the neighboring Italian restaurant is closed ;) The cuisine is home-style, with room for improvement in terms of finesse, but the service is attentive and accommodates expressed taste requests as far as possible. The quantity is manageable, but the price-enjoyment ratio is good! Child and dog friendly, especially on the sheltered, secluded outdoor terrace. Unfortunately, the inside is a bit tighter and old-fashioned. No water access, although adjacent to the Dove Elbe and recreational boat harbors. Unfortunately not connected to a footpath network, but there is a large parking lot behind the house. So it's always worth a detour by car or bike!

Hello dear team We were there yesterday for our mother's 70th birthday. Since the temperatures were very summery, we sat down in the restaurant and were given ice cream cards to wave and a fan for light refreshment. Jasmin welcomed us and quickly provided us with cool drinks. She was relaxed, humorous and made us feel like we were in the right place. The food came quickly and was delicious. Everyone was very satisfied with what was asked. Drinks were always served and no wish was left unfulfilled. For dessert we were allowed to go out onto the terrace where there was now shade and a nice wind cooled us down. The dessert was also very tasty and the view of the greenery made the afternoon perfect. So all in all it was a really great birthday and the crew was very committed, courteous and more than friendly. We agreed on site that another visit was definitely on the cards. I was in the restaurant for the first time today. I visited our regular meeting at an automobile club there. Following a recommendation, I ordered the knuckle. The knuckle was so dry and hard that it was hardly edible. I told and showed this to the waiter at dinner. Unfortunately, there was no further reaction from the waiter! When I was paying, I asked him again about the food and asked if it was from the day before. “We were closed then, it was probably in the oven too long” nothing more! The boss was behind us! No response or accommodation, no apology! I won't go there again! Shameful behavior from the staff. What a shame for my regular table!

We used one of the guest rooms (double room with private bathroom in the annex) for 4 nights at the beginning of May and were completely satisfied. However, if you are expecting a modern star hotel here, you are unfortunately in the wrong place. It should be clear that this is a family-run inn. The room and bathroom were clean. Nothing more is needed. The surroundings are quiet with a maritime flair on the Dove Elbe or a marina. The breakfast was rich and absolutely ok. The staff and the owner are very friendly and always available for an informative chat. There is a bus not far from the ferry house. Alternatively, you can reach an S-Bahn station with P&R in your own car within 10 minutes and at the Hamburg main station after just 2 stops. If we ever need accommodation in Hamburg again, the Machenberg ferry house will be our first address in the future.

We had an overnight stop here on our bike tour. The room was in the neighboring house. The people were also very nice. Since a lot of the space is rented out to fitters, you have to expect early on that a door will close a little louder. They are well-developed apartment rooms. Breakfast was served in the ferry house itself. There's nothing to complain about there either. Since the restaurant itself was closed, there was a tip for the marina. All in all, we can only recommend the Fährhaus.

We have been eating and celebrating at the Fährhaus for years. Same today. And as always it was 1a. I would like to give it 7 stars. My schnitzel made me happy, the fries were golden and crispy and the service was super friendly as always and promptly implemented my special request. I can highly recommend the Fährhaus because the price/performance ratio is also right.

We discovered this restaurant after a photo tour and we knew from the warm welcome that we could stay here. Have been here several times now and are thrilled. The food is very reasonably priced and very tasty. The ambience has an old-fashioned charm that I like. It's very cozy. So if you want to eat delicious (fish), you should plan a stop here. LG
