The food was good, the service was good, but when we asked for an ouzo, which is customary in a Greek restaurant, we were told it was no longer available because it was too expensive. A table of young men next door were offered a round... It's a shame it turned out that way.

A very cozy and tastefully decorated Greek restaurant. People come here to enjoy delicious food, meet up with friends, and have a nice time. Reservations are recommended, although we usually found a good table even without one.

Two main courses, one shared appetizer, two 0.2-liter waters, and two glasses of wine = €74. Packaging food costs an additional €1 per package, so that's fine. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant, but eating out is becoming a luxury.

Today, my friends took me to the Achilles restaurant. There were many dishes on the menu, but I ordered dish number 149. We waited a bit long, but the taste of this food was worth it. The staff also surprised me with their courtesy. I think I'll come back next week. I recommend this restaurant to everyone in Leipzig.

Two of us went for dinner on July 26, 2025, around 6:00 p.m. The staff seemed overwhelmed. It was quite chaotic, even though the restaurant wasn't full. We had to repeat several times that we wanted to pay. We wanted to take the rest of our food home, but it wasn't brought to us. A €1 charge was deducted from the bill for the packaging, but unfortunately, we noticed it too late.

We ate there today, three adults and a child. The service was abysmal, even though there were a maximum of six tables occupied at one time. The little boy tried to speak to the server, but he completely ignored him. No one even paid any attention to him. At least he got a lollipop to finish off. The food was delicious, but when we asked if everything was OK or if we wanted something else or a drink, we waited in vain. So one of us had to go inside and order another drink. The employee behind the bar was playing on her phone, and even a hello was ignored. When the drinks finally arrived, my friend noticed that he was getting beer instead of a shandy. He was also told to take another sip so that his glass could be refilled with Sprite. When he said, "I don't want beer," he was told that whatever was missing from the top of his glass would be filled with Sprite. Dessert was out of the question. We didn't have a menu, and apart from clearing the table every now and then, no one spoke to us. But clearing up didn't go very well either. The last plate remained empty, and the empty ouzo glasses remained on our table until we left. The glasses were also very scratched and looked ugly. One even had a crack in it. We'll never go there again.

There are better options for eating out within a 15 minute radius. We were there at Whitsun, the atmosphere was good and so was the welcome. The seats are all very narrow due to the fixed benches, which isn't my thing; I'd like to have some space. First of all, you get the menu very quickly and then you're alone. On the table there is a stand with a QR code for ordering that says you can order here. So do we have to order using the code or ask the waiter? Someone then came to take our drinks and we asked to order from the waiter. It took a while but I have no idea why. The food came relatively quickly but unfortunately bland. The salad dressing was very runny so you had to dip the salad first. The warm flatbread was really well seasoned 👍🏻. Main courses were plentiful and tasted OK but not something that would put you off coming back. We had one dish where a different side order was requested, namely fries instead of rice, which costs 1.90 extra, which is OK. Then it is usually usual to be asked if everything is good and if it tastes good. Unfortunately not, and the fact that the drinks were all gone didn't matter. It is not customer friendly even though there was always someone walking past. In the end another drink would have been nice and a tasty dessert too, but it isn't necessary, ok, it saves money. But now to the fries, unfortunately they were the worst. There was no seasoning and the inside was nice and soft and cold. When the table was being cleared we pointed this out and were told that they should have said it earlier. Not a nice answer and we had to pay the full amount. In conclusion, we won't be coming back.

Conclusion: there don't seem to be any "real" Greek restaurants in Leipzig. Nevertheless, I am happy to recommend the Achilles. We were there yesterday in a group of 7 people and spent around €280. We were very surprised about this because some of the prices are actually at city center level. Beer over €5 a half liter for example. Basically we were satisfied with the food, but only satisfied and that's why we only gave it three stars. Why? It's all good, but dear operators, tinker with the concept a bit. Basically, have more courage with spices! The starter salad tasted like nothing at all and neither did the tomato rice. In general, every meal was very, very lightly seasoned. Unfortunately, the Metaxa sauce doesn't deserve its name either. When I go to a Greek restaurant, the food has to have a certain oomph....tzatziki, grilled pepperoni...etc. Lt. The menu and what we had on the table combines good quality with not so good quality... Probably for cost reasons? You could also think about that again. I personally had the rack of lamb, which wasn't a rack of lamb, but rather five individual lamb chops. Please correct the menu or simply offer a rack of lamb. Still, it was tasty and juicy, but I didn't need canned green beans. So overall we were satisfied, but I definitely have to trust the chef more. 😋 Even though I'm personally not a fan of it, I like the idea of ​​using the ordering app. But then why have menus? This confuses the guest. The wine selection is also rather small and supermarket level, but perhaps that is due to the location of the restaurant and its target group.

Service and ambience were good, we felt comfortable. Food was ok, but overall very sober. Gyros ok, but could be more seasoned, same goes for the Athos potatoes. Calamaris weren't crispy, not really warm, something in between and ok. Gyros in Metaca sauce was ok, but again lightly seasoned. Tzatziki was delicious and with lots of garlic.

This restaurant is really recommended. The menu includes a good selection, but doesn't overwhelm you with what feels like 1000 dishes. There is a bit of everything and you can replace individual things. The tzatziki and metaxa sauce tasted fantastic. You can sit in the outdoor seating area, which is covered, and park on the street directly at the restaurant. Prices are also really fair. We'd love to come back.

We have enjoyed coming here for years, today we were really disappointed for the first time. The grilled peppers only saw the grill for a very short time, the fried liver was so thin that it seemed like it had been pounded flat and the minced steak only tasted extremely like dill. It was hard to understand the nice young waitress, which could have been due to the child at the next table watching videos very loudly on his cell phone and shouting a lot. As a waiter, you can point out that this can be done a little quieter because other people also feel very disturbed by it. All in all, not a nice, cozy evening. You can do it better

We came here on a recommendation and have been here many times. The staff is always friendly and the food is of the usual good quality. The prices are a bit high but you get really good food here. We always enjoy coming back here. This is our “favorite Greek” in Leipzig! If you eat here on the weekend evening, it can sometimes be a bit noisy as the restaurant is usually fully booked. It is therefore advisable to reserve in advance.

We always loved being there so much! We changed our diet a while ago and find it such a shame that there is no vegetarian main dish other than pasta. Unfortunately, we are no longer guests there for this reason. But maybe the owners will read this review and adapt their menu to vegetarians or, in the best case, even vegans. I have also cooked the Athos potatoes myself at home, e.g. vegan with soy cream and Vegan Veta. But I would much rather eat in a restaurant. Vegan moussaka simply with vegetables would also be an option.

The food was fantastic, meat on point BUT!!! A HAIR IN THE SALAD It can happen, but it shouldn't! As compensation, the waitress gave us two diluted ouzos! The boss apologized afterwards and gave us a fresh salad. The service lacks sensitivity, no greeting, no smile. Only two points for the ambience. Cobwebs, unkempt plants, everything is a bit outdated. No feel-good factor! I would have come back for the food, but the overall package just doesn't fit.
