Restaurant Dimitris in Leipzig

If you don't know any better, you'll probably like it. The gyros was inedible! The Metaxa sauce tasted like it came straight from a bucket. The atmosphere wasn't great either! I'm definitely never going back!

We spontaneously decided to go to the restaurant on a Friday evening without a reservation. This wasn't a problem, though; the drinks arrived quickly, the food took a little longer, but it was very tasty. We had gyros and a meat skewer. The meat was juicy and well-seasoned. In short: we would definitely come back. Tasty without any fuss, simply delicious, and good portions.

The food was unfortunately very greasy... it was swimming in grease. We had to ask for salt, and I know other Greek restaurants that were significantly better.

Clean atmosphere, good food, friendly service. Definitely recommended.

Unfortunately, I can't give it full marks... the food was excellent. Very tasty and a generous portion. But the service was terrible! It took far too long to take our first drink orders, and even after that, empty glasses were ignored. Even after the restaurant had emptied considerably, there was no sign of a prompt refill. This definitely needs improvement!

It's not the same Greek restaurant it used to be.

Beautiful ambiance and inviting atmosphere, friendly staff and generally delicious food, unfortunately the lunch menu selection is very small but everything else is good.

Dimitri is actually a comfortably furnished restaurant. The welcome from the host was also friendly, making you feel welcome as soon as you entered. The ordered dishes were served to our table quite quickly. Unfortunately, we had the impression that some of the items were not homemade but rather ready-made (e.g., the breaded children's schnitzel and the fried potatoes). Of course, that's not what you want when visiting a restaurant. The rather careless way the bill was placed on the table when we paid was also not great. All in all, we were full, but the price of the food was not appropriate for the quality.

Inattentive/unfriendly staff: Service is rude, inattentive, or stressed. For example, guests have to proactively request drinks or the usual ouzo isn't offered.

We've been here twice now, and each time the food was delicious and the service was very friendly.

Our regular Greek restaurant is always worth a visit. The staff is very friendly, and no matter what you eat, the food is delicious! The price/performance ratio is decent, but you have to be careful with the drinks...the prices are almost unbearable. The atmosphere is great, with a nice outdoor seating area, even though it's on a busy street, but it's still OK.

Everything was great and recommendable

The food was alright. The portions were sometimes very small. This is the first Greek restaurant where I had to pay extra for tzatziki with my garlic bread. We waited forever for drinks because the staff preferred to stand smoking in the entrance area... unacceptable! There was a complete lack of friendliness from the service. No typical Greek warmth whatsoever. A real shame.

Today we visited our Greek for the first time in the new year 2025. We noticed that there is a new atmosphere here, which has become really nice. We immediately felt like we had arrived in Greece. Ich bin im Außendienst über 100000 km unterwegs und hier habe ich den besten und saubersten Griechen seit Jahren gefunden . Alle sind sehr nett und das Essen ist perfekt .

Went there for lunch after a long time (around 2016). The core dish of every Greek restaurant: GYROS - I can't recommend it. Meat probably 2nd choice (?) and the (so-called) Metaxa sauce defies any description!! My starter pepperoni was very large and good. Ambient- well... street corner I find it difficult to understand the many, some very good, reviews. Haven't many of you eaten here anywhere else? ;) I work in the field and often have to eat lunch in restaurants. In my opinion this is just below average.

We stopped at Dimitris' place while we were passing through. The typical “Greek”, friendly greeting like old friends. The food was tasty and the portion was ok. Personally, I was missing some Greek music in the background. But that wasn't why we were here. The ouzo was nice and cool and delicious. So if we're in the area again and have an appetite for Greek cuisine, we'll know where to find it.

We came across this restaurant while passing through and were unfortunately really disappointed. The food (gyros and bifteki - waiting time of over 30 minutes) gave us stomach aches and we had to take several breaks along the way... The bill put us in a bad mood. The condition was pretty cheeky too. Never ever again...

Dimitris in Knauthain is a delicious and tasty Greek restaurant in the Leipzig suburb. The very spartan restaurant without table decorations, candles or lamps, but still offers very tasty and very tasty vegetarian dishes. If you're looking for a quick and easy Greek meal after a stroll through Leipzig in the evening, you're in great hands here.

The service and the ambience are nice, but unfortunately the taste of the food didn't appeal to us.

We visited this place for the first time for family dinner. Qualitive food, pleasant and not loud music creates immersion into another culture and another place. Staff is very attentive and polite. Visitors are friendly. One of the places you do not want to leave. Additional plus - interior.

This restaurant has been our Greek favorite for years. Everything is right here. The selection of dishes is varied, but personal requests are still catered for. The staff is friendly and attentive. Thank you also for the lovely evening yesterday.

The food is delicious, the service is very friendly and it's really nice to sit inside. 1 star deducted because I don't think it's that nice outside, you're sitting right on the main street and you can see everything from it. Could you perhaps come up with something with taller hedges or a fence... Other than that, you really can't say anything. You get 2 ouzo, which is no longer common everywhere, one at the front and one with the bill and as I said, the food is also super tasty and plentiful. Which I also think is really great and I hope that it will be maintained so that you don't have to pay extra for the supplement change. We have been here many times and will definitely be happy to come back :)

The restaurant is cozy but simple. Staff is friendly, helpful and always very accommodating. The food, noodles 🍜 with chicken, was good, but not hot enough 🔥. It also lacked some spice, just like the tzatziki. Price/performance is okay.

Simple Greek restaurant with very nice, attentive staff. The food is very, very sufficient and really tasty. Price-performance ratio is right and children can also feel comfortable here. The outdoor seating area is overlooking Dieskaustraße and the tram... Unfortunately only white plastic chairs - but you shouldn't eat them either.... 😜

Sehr nettes Personal, vor allem die eine Dame. Ich liebe gutes Essen, ist schon fast ein Hobby, es war so gut ich bin fast ausgeflippt. Alles war tip top sauber, keine Verschmutzung oder ähnliches. Die Blutwurst war sehr lecker!

Im großen und ganzen ein einfacher Grieche mit...positiv gemeint, viel Potential nach oben. Es dürfte gern griechischer sein, die Musik darf präsenter sein, das Anrichten von den Speisen darf liebevoller sein. Preis Leistung ist vollkommen in Ordnung. Vielleicht werden ein paar Sachen vom Feedback umgesetzt. VG

Ich gehe sehr gern in dieses Restaurant, weil hier einfach alles passt. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, der Standard ist sehr hoch und nur wenn man absolut zufrieden ist, sind es die Besitzer auch. Man wird immer sehr freundlich bedient, muss nie unverhältnismäßig lange auf das Essen warten. Deshalb ist das Restaurant eine absolute Empfehlung!

Wollten ein verspätetes Geburtstagessen nachholen. Haben im Netz recherchiert und sind auf "Dimitris" gestoßen. Internetauftritt einwandfrei, Speisekarte mit Preisangaben, sehr umfangreiches Speisenangebot. Also schnell vorbestellt und nichts wie hin nach Knautkleeberg (keine Panik ist immer noch Stadtgebiet Leipzig!) Ambiente sehr angenehm, natürlich Corona geschuldet ohne Tischdecken, also rustikal aber gemütlich. Personal sehr, sehr freundlich und schnell, was die Aufnahme der Getränke und Speisen betrifft. Wir saßen ca. 20 Min., da kam auch schon das Essen; die Getränke samt Ouzo zur Begrüßung sofort nach Bestellung. Die Portionen waren selbst für "Fleischfresser" sehr groß; der Geschmack war 1A; Temperatur und Anrichtung der Speisen ohne jegliche Kritik! Wir können "Dimitris" reinen Gewissens weiterempfehlen...!

Wir waren hier mit Freunden Essen, wir wurden nicht rausgeschmissen, auch wenn wir die letzten Gäste waren. Die Speisen kamen angemessen schnell und schmeckten sehr gut. Der Wein war lecker. Es war ein gemütlicher Abend hier. Wir kommen nächstes Weihnachten wieder. ;-)
