Good and fast service, good food, good prices

The food and service were very good, as you would expect from a Greek restaurant, including ouzo. :) The only slight drawback was the noise level in the restaurant, which is to be expected with many guests in a large establishment.

We were there on October 3, 2025 – we spontaneously reserved space for five people and got a very good seat. The staff were very open and friendly, and the service was excellent throughout. No waiter was "standing around." Every server checked in on the guests to see if anyone needed anything. The food was very good, although the children's portion was probably for very large children. It was a shame it was a full plate, but my husband and nephew ate it. Everything was very good. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Leipzig. 😊

Five of us were there one evening. Very friendly staff. The food was mostly delicious, except for the so-called leg of lamb, which was disappointing. Two slices of meat (was that from a can?) and a light flour sauce. The lamb fillet, on the other hand, was very good.

Personally, I found the food bland and tasteless! The parking spaces along the building's wall are not recommended, as the exhaust air from the kitchen area is released unfiltered into the environment, and, as happened to me, a dripping film of grease covered the entire car. At first glance, it looked as if someone had poured a shaken Coke over my vehicle. My complaint to the staff was dismissed with the explanation that this was well known, and that two signs on the building's wall indicate that parking is at your own risk. My comments that I couldn't see these signs upon arrival due to the darkness and that they were placed much too high were met with a shrug. Even if I had seen these signs, I wouldn't have expected a shower of grease and environmental pollution. In daylight, you can see grease deposits on the building itself and large grease stains on the unsealed floor area. In conclusion, I'd say: The food is okay, the price including car cleaning is way too expensive, customer service is nonexistent, and you're a polluter!

We waited an hour for the salad to arrive. We've known this restaurant for many, many years. Unfortunately, the portions are getting smaller and smaller. The food is as delicious as ever. The seating is very pleasant.

Very disappointed. I didn't get the food I ordered and had to point it out to the waiter *apparently the former manager*. Then I got the wrong food twice. Two other guests had the same experience. Meat was dry and cold. Rice was a tiny scoop. Beer prices questionable. Large beers are more expensive than small ones. I won't be visiting the restaurant again.

An evening to forget – never again! We went to a Greek restaurant yesterday, full of anticipation for good food and a relaxing evening. What did we get? Unfriendly service, uncaring food, and, in the end, a blatant rip-off with the children's meals. The atmosphere was frosty from the start – as if we were being annoying just for coming. The food? Absolutely disappointing in terms of taste. Everything seemed bland, carelessly presented, and cooked in a somewhat haphazard way. Frozen food would have had more character. And as if that weren't enough: When we asked about the strange billing for the children's meals, the staff suddenly became loud and unpleasant – completely unprofessional and inappropriate. No insight, no consideration, no apology. That's not how you treat guests. This was definitely our last visit.

We were guests here two weeks ago and had our table in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the outside area was completely occupied. On the way from the parking lot to the restaurant, we noticed the dripping exhaust air from the kitchen area. A vehicle parked in front of it saved itself several months of waxing. In any case, the exhaust system wasn't working, and the interior of the restaurant looked accordingly. It was completely smoky and greasy. The food and service were okay, but the surroundings...

Unfortunately, even two stars are almost too much. The food is absolutely characterless; the national dish, gyros, was completely dried out and I suspect it had been reheated from the day before. All the vegetables were overcooked, and the service was indifferent when you pointed it out. This "restaurant" is absolutely not recommended, which is a shame because the ambiance is quite nice.

A lovely, quiet restaurant, despite being right on the street. Very friendly service, who worked quickly and brought the food to the table. Unfortunately, our meal was somewhat mediocre; the broccoli was overcooked, the garlic potatoes were very greasy, and the amount of garlic was too much, making it too spicy.

I have no idea how these good reviews come about, but this has little to do with good Greek cuisine. Gyros tastes like you're eating bark mulch or wood shavings. It's bland in taste and, unfortunately, not of good quality. Whoever rated this as the best Greek restaurant obviously has no idea.

Order by phone on Sunday at 1 p.m. - no information about closing at 2 p.m. "Slingshot service" The quality of the food was NOT convincing in terms of taste for 6 of us. Ask for coffee only at 5 p.m. Prices too expensive e.g. salmon steak and side dishes extra for over 20 euros and then the size. Wouldn't you have preferred it in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg GERMAN HOSPITALITY???

Food was OK, but no better than in a Greek snack bar. Because it was packed, you could hardly breathe; it was very warm and stuffy. You should ventilate more often.

Four of us went out for dinner today and made reservations by phone, as it was very busy, which was a good thing. Good service, friendly, attentive, not a long waiting time, great food, price-performance ratio definitely appropriate! Would love to come back

Waiting time for the main course was 1 hour, the guests at the next table came later than us and were almost finished with dessert when our main course finally arrived. Unfortunately it was very disappointing, lamb fillets (26.90), very well done and riddled with tendons. Unfortunately, a complaint didn't bring anything except the statement that it's always like that for us. Unfortunately, none of the bosses even bothered to come to our table to ask. We paid the full amount, I'm not interested in a five euro discount or anything like that). But there are much better Greeks, Olympus in Schleusig for example. Our conclusion, once and never again

A great restaurant, very nice staff and delicious food

Went there spontaneously for the first time. Unfortunately we couldn't sit outside in this weather as it is only for reserved people, which is a real shame because there was a lot of air in there. The food was very tasty and the portion was great. The only drawback is that I didn't see much tzatziki. Service is very friendly so far, except for the older waiter, who was a bit unfriendly and then unfortunately you didn't understand him well, so you had to ask twice. But conclusion can be recommended.

We ate in this restaurant a year ago. It was still on the village square in Burghausen. The move was in November 2023. The duck roastery used to be here. I don't like the atmosphere that much. The beer garden faces the street, so it's a bit noisy. But the food is still very good and the staff, as usual, are extremely friendly. Prices are just about bearable.

Were there last weekend with good friends. They were so enthusiastic last time at the old address that our suggestion Crete was immediately favored. The food is still simply delicious and rich. The service was friendly and everything was nice and clean.

We wanted to walk a few steps for dinner and try out the restaurant, which is just a few steps away. Mild summer evening, perfect “Greek conditions”. The ambience, we sat in it (which was ok), was good. Chic pictures and Greek surroundings. Unfortunately we had to wait a while for the drinks. The beer was tasty at first. Ordered starters straight away, as did the main meal. Starter came, basically solid, spinach in puff pastry, olives and pepperoni, delicious. Then the white wine: unfortunately served warm on a hot summer evening!! Then we didn't see the waitresses for what felt like an eternity. No food and no new drinks. Then finally an order of beer: one beer was ok, but the other was way too warm! So I went to the counter, got a new beer and asked for a cold one this time: the waiter came, but again almost the same temperature! Unbelievable (warm summer evening)! We were already served. Now finally came after 1.5 hours!!! our main meal! Unfortunately, despite all tolerance, this was forgettable! Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the price (just under 20 euros). Everything was kind of thrown away and the salad in front of it was a disappointment. Far too carelessly prepared, not crunchy at all, little taste. Weak! The meat on my plate was just as tasteless, despite the Metaxa sauce, and the quality of the meat was unfortunately unsatisfactory. All in all a disappointment. To be honest, everything was somehow acceptable until the main meal. But the salad and the long waiting time for this (!) meal - not enough. The ouzo and the starters at least did their job (thumbs up). We won't be coming back any time soon. Unfortunately.

We were there on July 13th, 2024 Some of the food was too cold and the portions were far too small for the prices.

We miss the duck roastery, even at the old location we only went to the Kreta restaurant twice. Even the greeting was a bit strange if you didn't know each other, the staff could have been a guest... There's a lot that needs to happen in terms of the ambience to make you feel like you've been transported to Crete, just the music loop and the usual napkins aren't enough. Sometimes it's little things, starting with old cutlery thrown together that you first examine... There's certainly a lack of competition in the outskirts of Leipzig, we've been following the decline in good restaurants for years. When it comes to food...everyone has to make up their own mind about the taste, because it's just a matter of taste. We try to eat our way through the Greek cuisine with variety...the two tables are not designed for that in terms of space and it wasn't possible to change places...a bit inflexible. I was surprised by my village plate. Price performance was very good. For us, the fries could have stayed in the oil a little longer, but it was good, the small farmer's salad was swimming in the olive oil and wasn't much bigger than the side salad with the village plate. No comparison to the one in his homeland in terms of quantity and price. The scalloped champions are always something special and were certainly good, but the pizzazz was still missing. The fried pointed peppers were certainly a failure, we only had fried peppers cut into strips, whether pointed or not🤷, so the price/performance ratio wasn't right. Inflation or not, all in all just over 30 euros per head. Local prices, but the service is not suitable everywhere. I hope I remained fair in my assessment. One more thing.... the swarm of flies that came with the food was very unpleasant and the little ants 🐜 that we took with us weren't nice either, this is just a little information, I know that we were sitting outside.

It was raining heavily before our visit, the chairs and tables were still wet, but nothing was wiped down or we were offered seat cushions. The service was friendly. That food tasted good. The environment is not very inviting (noisy main street, loud background noise) but the restaurant still makes a good impression. The restaurant moved to a new location at the beginning of the year, but still partially uses e.g. Napkins with the old address. Not bad, but could be renewed.

At the beginning you were served very quickly. After eating you had to get someone over to order something else. Otherwise I would come back immediately

We've been going to this Greek restaurant for years, for the simple reason that everything is just right there. You get a meal that deserves its name and price. The food is also not as heavy as other Greeks, and we have tried many. Today we were in the new restaurant for the first time since moving. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the service is super nice and friendly, and even the boss, a very likeable veteran, still works with us. The food is at the same level as in the old restaurant and has lost none of its quality. We will definitely come back here again and again. Absolutely top recommended restaurant that deserves 5 stars 👍👍👍

Very good food. However, like almost everywhere, it's too expensive. We used to pay between 30 and 40 euros for 2 people, but now it's between 50 and 60 euros.

Beer was warm. then got another new one, also just slightly cooler... Salad was 1 star at most... With the pork loin there were 3 croquettes and a teaspoon of rice 🍚...OMG I ordered fries 🍟 and got a saucer with french fries. The fact that they ended up costing 3.90 euros is a disgrace. The pork loin was also diced and not in one piece. 28 euros for 0.4 beer and 3 croquettes with a hint of rice and chopped loin and a minimini portion of fries... Is not acceptable... never go to this restaurant again... terrible

Today the four of us had dinner in the former Schloßkrug, now the Greek restaurant Kreta. You should book a table in advance. We experienced great service without it being intrusive. The food was delicious, hot and lots of it. We were very satisfied and will definitely come back. Many thanks to the entire team.

Okay, I've had better Greeks. Spinach in the puff pastry was ice cold, the second time it was better, at least hot. You really had to chew calamari very well because it was really tough and the potatoes were a mixture of raw and cooked. So nothing gimmicky and nothing half-baked. But at least the hut is well furnished.

It was disappointing last night. The only positive thing I can say about the food is that the chicken was as it should be. Otherwise I can say that the cooking in this kitchen is careless and that's how it tastes and what the plates look like. The lady who served stopped immediately after ordering the drinks and wanted to order the food straight away. When I asked for a little more time, nothing happened for a long time. Conclusion: Really nice restaurant from the building style and very cozy. The rest is history.

Underground what was going on here today. We have been to this Greek restaurant several times, but today was the last time. The problem: We chose our dishes quite quickly and so far so good the starters were okay. Then came the main course. My wife ordered beef fillet with broccoli. The waitress came back shortly afterwards and asked if my wife would like it medium rare, to which we said yes. She got something that was supposed to look like beef fillet with croquettes but without broccoli. When we pointed this out, the plate was taken away again and returned shortly afterwards (the same plate) only without the croquettes. Not so nice but still ok. The broccoli should come soon. In the meantime we discovered that the beef fillet in question was probably not beef fillet. On the one hand, there were three flat pieces of meat, two of which were completely cooked through and had nothing to do with medium rare. It also smelled more like lamb and the color was more like that. One piece may have been beef, possibly even fillet. It was also medium but only one of 3 pieces. We then asked the waitress about it and were told that we had no idea with the words “that’s all three pieces of fillet”. I'm a trained chef myself, I think I can relate... Well, she took it back with gritted teeth. Since we didn't want to wait another half hour for food, my wife ate some of my biftki. The bifteki was also ok as was my daughter's meal. However, the waitress was a bit angry and looked for a fight. When we were full, I asked to pack the rest of my daughter and a small piece of bifteki because we wanted to eat it at home. She then said whether we didn't like it either, which we said no. It should be said that we didn't even try the supposed beef fillet because when we cut it and the smell was far from what was on the menu! Ok up to this point I thought everything was ok, just pay and go. Everyone has a bad day. But when the bill came, things got naughty. She had two bills with her. The one from today (where the fillet was also deleted) and one from December 17th, 23 where she said I hadn't paid for our desserts... what?? I asked how she came up with that?! She said her colleague had booked the desserts on another table. Ok, maybe there was a mistake on the part of the staff, but we ate there again in the meantime. Why is she coming with this now, I thought to myself. Regardless, I looked at the bill and couldn't remember whether I was there that day or whether and what I had for dessert. The sum of the supposedly unpaid desserts amounted to €12.90 🤣🤣 Man, they must need it, I thought to myself. I then made it clear to her that I wouldn't pay it and how did she come to the point of giving me this bill after a while and that I can no longer understand it after almost 4 months. Ok, then she was really angry. But sorry, what's the point? Any innkeeper could come to me and present an invoice from 4 months ago. My family and I go out to eat 2-3 times a week, and I'm supposed to know what I ate and where 4 months ago and be liable for a mistake the staff makes? I then paid today's bill and there was another saying that I unfortunately didn't understand. When we said goodbye there was a snippy “see you next time” to which I replied “that won’t happen!” We then left the packed food behind. When we left the restaurant, the two waitresses pointedly leaned over the counter with their backs to us and there was another saying that I unfortunately didn't understand either, but it's clear to us that they won't see us anymore, especially since Hercules is in Leipzig tastes better anyway and we only went there evasively today because Hercules is closed.

We had reserved a table for 4 people and wanted to eat comfortably. But nothing came of it. The restaurant was totally overloaded. A table had been reserved for us in a room measuring around 50 - 60 m², together with a group of 20 people who were sitting so tightly packed at one table that it was an imposition. This meant that it was practically impossible for us to communicate with each other at the table due to the noise level. A complaint to the boss was simply dismissed on the grounds that there were no other places and no other option. Yes, you would have if you hadn't prioritized profit and reduced the space available. That was quite an imposition. But now to the food: pure system catering. You can tell from the food itself. The plates were not preheated. Of course with the masses of people. The starter was also tasteless when it came to the dressing. The gyros (partly hard meat), the skewers and the steak were lukewarm. Bottom drawer. The fries can't really be described as such. Light yellow, still matchy, not baked and not a bit spicy. The tzatziki, tasteless. So the food was a complete disaster. The only bright spot was the friendliness of the service. We will not set foot in this restaurant again. the old location in Gundorf is far from the former quality. We are deeply disappointed. Never again in Crete.

I was disappointed with the "83" on the menu. The steak was dry and slightly tough. The meatball was seasoned too lightly and had little taste. The gyro looked like it was cut from steak, was bland and undercooked for my taste. The fries are weak. And the pickled peppers in the salad were completely over salted. Since I only had one complaint from 8 guests, I assume that I had pulled the plug. The turkey dishes were said to be good. For a Greek restaurant I would have liked more ambience. The menu doesn't have to be that extensive either. I would cut 30-40 percent of them because they are too similar. Then there is a little more time for the quality and appearance of the food. The service staff was great. Very attentive, friendly and always asking questions without being intrusive.

I was there in the middle of the day outside opening hours because I was thirsty and the cook gave me a bottle of Fanta. Recommendation! To be honest, I can't say anything about the food, but it was really great!

We had dinner with friends at the Kreta Restaurant. It is definitely recommended to reserve a table in advance as it was really well attended. The atmosphere is very cozy and everything is clean. 👍🏼 Unfortunately, we weren't as happy with the dishes we ordered as we are used to in Greek restaurants. The food was okay, but unfortunately nothing special. The garlic potatoes were cool when served, some of the meat was very stringy and the side salad without dressing was also rather disappointing. Unfortunately, there is another star deduction because my friend received a beer with alcohol instead of a non-alcoholic beer and only noticed this when paying. There was no apology after that. It was simply hushed up. This definitely shouldn't happen in a restaurant. There could also be a dry alcoholic as a guest in this restaurant. Overall, a very well-intentioned three stars. A pity.

Sunday 5 p.m. Came for two without pre-ordering. There were many tables free and without reservation signs. We were informed that all places were full. This is the end of it for us forever!

We have known the restaurant for many years. But in the new location it's even better.

A bit disappointing, this is the second time I've visited the new location. The first time after the reopening, ice-cold food, vegetables were almost raw. Second attempt was a little better, at least the food was warm, sometimes even burnt. The service was quick and nice. 👍 Nevertheless, you have the feeling of mass processing. It would be desirable to have a larger selection of vegetarian dishes and fish that you can eat without being gratinated with tons of cheese and therefore swimming in fat. (no more fresh salmon steak, but two strips of previously frozen fish that was still almost frozen in the middle🥲) a shame ☹️ Conclusion, I really miss the old Crete, both the atmosphere and the food.
