Super nice location and delicious breakfast 🥞 We would love to come back!

I had an excellent breakfast at the Frau Maher restaurant in Cologne. The food was fresh and delicious, and the service was extremely friendly and accommodating. However, parking options at Clodwigplatz are limited, which is why it is better to come by train. All in all, the restaurant is highly recommended!

Delicious lunch with fantastic lasagne and fine homemade cordon bleu including crispy rösti. Portions are official! Alcohol free Needle Gin Cocktail was also spot on. Very friendly service and quick cuisine despite peak lunch time. Shop and toilets very clean and nicely decorated. A completely well-rounded experience... That's how it has to be and that's what really makes you want it!

We were lucky and found a cozy place for an incredibly delicious breakfast - with a huge portion of avocado! 🥑🤤 The staff was very friendly, the service was quick and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great breakfast experience!

Definitely a culinary experience with creative and surprising flavor combinations. Staff very attentive and friendly. The only downside is the noise in the restaurant. Anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing evening might feel disturbed as the background noise is quite high. Conversations are often only possible with a raised voice, which takes away from the atmosphere

So...we were there on Boxing Day and were able to enjoy a very excellent menu. Every course was really a blast...the service was very friendly and attentive...and the restaurant was also beautifully decorated for Christmas. All in all: great! 5 stars!

Not particularly! Portions very small, carelessly placed on old plates. Kind of reminded me of cafeteria food. Totally overpriced! There wasn't even a slice of bread. We went for a 3-course menu (approx. 5 cm pieces of dead bean with 1 scampi, approx. 80 grams of meat with raw potato gratin with carrots/celery vegetables, 1 tablespoon of chocolate mousse with a dollop of ice cream - without any decoration) for 80 €! went out hungry. Service wasn't unfriendly but not good either! Otherwise brewery atmosphere! Old dishes, cheap glasses, checkered napkins, no table biscuits or Christmas decorations on the tables! The place was completely overcrowded, almost dangerously full and correspondingly loud! Absolutely no recommendation! Far from “upscale”!

Sorry, but that was nothing. The restaurant was packed and the service was friendly but overwhelmed. The food tasted pretty good, but it has nothing to do with fine dining. It wasn't outstanding in any way! Neither in terms of taste nor in the way the dishes were prepared. It was reminiscent of a factory canteen! The plates are ancient and worn, cheap glasses, old cutlery and at Christmas there isn't even a tablecloth but checkered napkins. And then exorbitantly expensive! I don't understand the good reviews. Maybe they're good at breakfast, but they're definitely not good at dinner! Absolutely no recommendation.

We were there for goose dinner on Tuesday and ordered a whole goose in advance. And it was phenomenal… The chef even told us the secret of the filling. And the service was wonderful too, we'll be back, thank you!

I love this restaurant! It's incredibly delicious. (In December the Christmas goose is absolutely recommended! - on point!) but above all the atmosphere is very cozy and the service is courteous and friendly! If I didn't already, I would always come back ☺️🫶🏻

Since my office is nearby, I know “Frau Maher” primarily as a breakfast location or a place for a business lunch. Both are recommended in terms of the quality of the food and the speed and friendliness of the service. These always positive experiences were topped off with a family dinner. We had actually planned our annual goose dinner at "Frau Maher's". You have to pre-order these by phone a few days in advance. Unfortunately, the information that we wanted to eat "the whole goose" in the restaurant was lost when we made our online reservation. That was annoying at first! How great the situation was saved by the “Mrs. Maher team”. You could order "the best of the goose" (breast and leg) or goose legs Conift from the menu. The meat was tender and juicy. The potato dumplings were fluffy and the red cabbage melted in your mouth. Since then, Ms. Maher has been number one for our annual goose dinner. One of my sons spontaneously switched from goose to a fish dish (cod), which was also well received. The service was extremely friendly and attentive and gave us competent advice on our wine selection. The “whole goose” would have included soup as a starter. We were very happy that we didn't "have to" take these and instead opted for different starters. We were totally surprised when the bill came. Due to the oversight when booking, the price for both of our starters was significantly lower. But the biggest pleasant surprise came the day after. The owner of Ms. Maher wrote an email apologizing again for the oversight in the booking! There is so much complaining about Germany being a service desert. As someone who has visited restaurants in other countries, I can only say: I have never experienced such a positive example in gastronomy. Absolute recommendation for Ms. Maher! Thank you for a great evening. We'd love to come back!

11/3/2024 After the concert in Phil, I was strolling through Cologne and happened to come across Ms. Maher. Warm welcome and even though I was solo and the place was pretty full, I was assigned a nice seat. Attentive advice on the choice of tea and everything else remained calm. I like the ambience and the cross-border clientele. Bread with spread came together with the dish we ordered, fish and chips, the breading was appetizing, the fish was quite watery and tasteless and the fish portion was clear, a shame. The decor and the tea and bread setting were well thought out. You can try different dishes, I will definitely come back.

The "vegan lasagne" was like a bad parody; just slices of smoked tofu with some chopped tomato in between. It tasted (surprise) overwhelmingly like smoked tofu, and nothing else. It also had the non-endearing bite of slices of smoked tofu. I've often had wonderful vegan lasagna at other places, but this one managed to serve a 24€ experience of reconsindering my life choices that brought me there. Otherwise: vegan tapas were ok. Friendly waiters, nice lighting.

War aufgrund diverser Empfehlungen dort und war total enttäuscht! Hab die teuerste und gleichzeitig schlechteste Lasagne gegessen. Alle Portionen waren Ultra klein, man geht hungrig rein und raus für pro Person 50 Euro. Service hat uns ignoriert-sind verdurstet-nie wieder.

Was there based on various recommendations and was totally disappointed! I ate the most expensive and worst lasagne at the same time. All portions were ultra small, you go in and out hungry for 50 euros per person. Service ignored us - we died of thirst - never again.

Nice rooms, very friendly service, but breakfast and coffee are of train station quality. Boring rolls, roast beef and salmon from the pack, scrambled eggs from the pack, garnished with a quarter of tomato, lettuce leaf and a few slices of pickles from the jar(!), plus horseradish sauce and herb remoulade from the bucket. My counterpart had fried eggs on a slice of cooked Aldi ham on bread (I think there was salad under the ham too). There was a stewed mini tomato next to it as a decoration. The coffee wasn't good. No, when you leave the restaurant your stomach tells you that there are no ambitious people working here who enjoy eating and drinking.

I was able to take a very pleasant lunch break here. The service was very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious!

A restaurant where everything is really harmonious. The outstanding and creative chef creates flavor variations in a pleasant atmosphere. In addition to the delicious spare ribs, I am surprised Menu a vegan version of “Himmel & Ääd”. It looks like butwurst and tastes like it, but behind it are red beans and beetroot juice. So creative and taste-wise a dream. The menu is rounded off with the Limoncello Tiramisu, which is dusted with green tea. We are pampered by attentive and friendly service. Always worth a visit. The 3-course menu for €49 stimulates all your taste buds.

The staff, the food, the service - everything about it was simply perfect, so we ate there twice during our stay in Cologne. Even the changing facilities for babies were so lovingly designed, as were the toilets. The nice waiter Camilo served us very friendly and courteously and answered all of our questions about breakfast (Cafe Nuss Nuss - btw it is highly recommended, as is everything there!)

Food and service were good so far. Unfortunately, the prices don't do justice to the portions. We had a cheaper and better breakfast in Cologne. Still absolutely fine.

The beautiful corner house with the terrace in front is so tempting and inviting that I couldn't resist and sat down for a petit déjeuner parisien - I didn't regret it! Spent a comfortable hour here with my companion. When I come back to Cologne, I know where I will definitely stop again: with Ms. Mahér! Thank you Madame!

We had breakfast there around lunchtime. Everything was great, in keeping with the spirit of the times. Everything was delicious, drinks and food. - Only the beer garden chairs outside are a bit uncomfortable, but if you're lucky you can get other seating options.

Food: special menu, no alternatives, small portions. You can and can expect more in terms of taste and appearance Drinks: Sparkling water for 6.??€ in a carafe. When asked about a sealed bottle, there was no explanation, but the explanation was that the water was filtered in an "extra large filter system" and not with "Britta". The latest trend in Cologne is to sell tap water there too. Service: somewhat forgotten. Set up from the left side - almost got cutlery and later a plate. Conclusion: there are much better shops in Cologne

Am heutigen Samstag hatten wir 1x ALLES KÄSE, ALLESKÖNNER und 3x Milchkaffee. Die Portion war ordentlich groß und sehr lecker. Wir haben draußen gesessen, konnten uns prima unterhalten und hatten ein abwechslungsreiches Seh-Programm rundherum. Wir kommen mit Sicherheit wieder. Preise sind schon etwas höher. 😉 Viel Freude beim Ausprobieren!

Been here 4-5 times so far and today I ordered lasagne for the first time and, as usual, I wanted parmesan with it, which is free everywhere in the world. Afterwards I saw on the bill that they charged 1.50 for parmesan and I've never experienced that before. Parmesan is something as simple as olive oil and should always be included in the prices.

Cozy interior, fast service with a good overview - without being hectic. We spent several hours here with 8 people after breakfast. There was also a lovely seating area outside with flower boxes and trees, looked very inviting!

Attentive staff, delicious food, super nice decor, everything organic. Price-performance ratio is very good. When I asked if I could light a candle for my birthday, I received a very loving surprise. The boss and two waiters came to the table with a dessert including a candle and sang a birthday song. Prosecco with raspberries included! A (regular) guest then asked me if he should take a souvenir photo of me. Incredibly nice atmosphere! I can warmly recommend the restaurant.

Really nice banana pancakes with nut-nougat sauce! This plus two coffees and scrambled eggs with bacon and toast was just €31, a really good deal!

Seit Jahren verwenden wir zu Hause überwiegend hochwertige, bzw. Bio-Lebensmittel und mit diesem Anspruch habe ich mir für meinen „Geburtstagsdinner“ ein passendes Restaurant gesucht - und gefunden! Warum viel Geld ausgeben für Speisen, die zwar gut schmecken, bei denen aber die Qualität der verwendeten Zutaten einfach nicht stimmt ..!? Zugegeben habe ich bei der Reservierung erwähnt, dass es sich um einen Geburtstag handelt, aber dennoch sind zwei Gläser Prosecco zur Begrüßung, keine Selbstverständlichkeit! Das war sehr aufmerksam! Der zugewiesene Platz war ideal, das Geschirr war schön anzusehen, und die Portionen waren absolut ausreichend. Überhaupt war das Ambiente sehr gemütlich und die Akustik trotz vieler Gäste erträglich. Der Service war überaus aufmerksam und dennoch nicht aufdringlich! Die Gerichte (Calamaretti, Papardelle, Auberginenbällchen) waren kreativ zusammengestellt, geschmacklich fein abgestimmt und auch sehr appetitlich angerichtet. (Lediglich die Oliven waren ziemlich langweilig und da wäre definitiv mehr drin gewesen!) Desserts waren wirklich aufwändig dekoriert und ebenfalls sehr lecker! Zusammengefasst war es ein sehr gelungener Abend und ein wunderbares Essen. Der Preis absolut angemessen und als sehr zufriedene Gäste kommen wir gerne wieder!

We passed the lovely restaurant/café on a lovely walk through Cologne and settled in there. It was in the afternoon and we treated ourselves to a delicious piece of cake and really good coffee. The service was very nice and the location was well attended. There seems to be delicious food there even at later hours. You'll just have to try it out soon. But it's also worth it for cake and coffee.

We celebrated my wife's birthday here with friends in the evening (but it wasn't our first time here). We were greeted with prosecco 🥂 The menu is clear, but I can recommend every dish. We felt very comfortable with Ms. Maher (the best one) and would love to come back.

It doesn't go without a lot of information: Frau Maher cannot be left out of her visit to the city of Cologne. It's basically my favorite place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even just tea. Ich mag sehr!!!

Breakfast: 1.5 slices of Gouda 5 euros, 2 teaspoons of jam 3 euros, 1 baked roll 1 euro, butter 2 euros, 1 latte macchiato 3.80 euros, 1 latte (served in a cappuccino cup) 3.80 euros, 1 Strammer Max and Moriz 13 euros (1 slice of bread with cooked ham and 3 fried eggs). Table not really usable for breakfast as it is very small. Service was very nice and attentive. I like to eat breakfast a lot and have no problem spending money for a good performance. But this price-performance ratio is not worth visiting again for me.

The fine! I like having breakfast at Ms. Mahez's. First of all, I definitely recommend making a reservation. This is easy to do online. The café is beautifully decorated and is perfect for a romantic breakfast for two. I particularly like that there is a variety of freshly squeezed juices (including just vegetable ones). There is also extra fine salmon but also roast beef and fresh avocado. I also like the fact that there are wholemeal bread rolls. The quality and freshness of the food must be particularly emphasized. It's a bit pricey but totally justified for this quality What I don't like so much is that, despite making a reservation early, you always sit cramped together and never get a really nice table (I only deducted a point for that) and that the noise in the café is significantly above average. I heartily recommend the café! I will always enjoy having breakfast there and enjoying the particularly fine ambience.

An incredibly great Christmas experience. We didn't know the restaurant, but were looking for something for Christmas Eve. What a surprise. Someone who loves his/her job is cooking here. Delicious food, both for omnivores and vegans, in an overall great atmosphere! Unfortunately, the portion sizes were too manageable, especially in relation to the price. Without a bread basket and starters we wouldn't have been really full, even though we all normally tend to eat smaller portions.

We made a reservation as a group of 6 at 4:00 p.m. First of all, the restaurant advertises consistently warm cuisine. When we arrived, the menu had already been narrowed down so that there were no longer any meat or fish dishes. Only pasta, currywurst or salad. Very disappointed, we ordered the remaining leftovers and were served lukewarm to cold, moderately tasty dishes. It was pointed out to us that we had reserved between table times. But why do you accept a reservation for dinner at 4 p.m. without saying anything in advance about food availability? And why are all 6 dishes served cold? Terrible!!! Never again.

We booked a late lunch table for a family dinner over Christmas, but we were not informed that there was no fish or meat, even though it was on the menu. Furthermore, the food was cold and the whole family felt unwell afterwards. Not recommendable!!

Ich mag die Location sehr gerne. Essen ist sehr gut. Nicht ganz billig. Nachmittags Kaffee und Kuchen Angebot. Sehr schönes Ambiente. Bei gutem Wetter auch draußen. Einziges Manko: Das Wasser ist so Art sodastream. Dafür zu teuer.

Wunderschön mit Liebe eingerichtetes Lokal in der Südstadt. Auch toll geschmückt für Weihnachten. Super Karte, man wird schnell fündig. Guter Mix an mediterranem Soulfood. Spaghetti Bolo, Gulasch, Lasagne, Currywurst, Fisch Burger… um nur einige Highlights zu nennen. Der Grauburgunder war ein Traum! Lachs Teriyaki mit Salat war sehr schmackhaft. Kommen wieder!

Ich liebe Frau Maher‘s Laden! Man merkt die Liebe zum Detail die umgesetzt wurde, das Ambiente ist mega! Komme hier regelmäßig zum brunchen vorbei, sie hat eine so vielfältige Auswahl, es gibt auch einige vegan & vegetarisch Optionen! Mein Favorit ist „Are you Veda“ :)
