Die Tacos sind einfach köstlich! Die Karte ist zwar übersichtlich, aber man merkt, dass die Küche mit viel Erfahrung und Liebe am Werk ist. Vom Ambiente her gibt es sicherlich stimmungsvollere Locations; die Einrichtung ist sehr einfach, aber es gibt einen kleinen Aussenbereich und da es Self-Service gibt muss man nicht lange auf sein Essen warten. Unbedingt empfehlenswert!

Very tasty food, authentic ingredients, the salsas could be better/fresher and the pulled pork is too dry and their taste is unspectacular. However, the mole tacos were outstanding!

The food is amazing here! But it was expensive for us. For two portions of tacos (8 tacos) + 2 soft drinks we paid about 56€ and then the tip on top. The ordering system was confusing, as we were not allowed to do self-service on drinks or pick up food from the counter, but other customers were doing that…

I went a couple of times and the food wasn't bad. However, customer service is terrible. The straw that broke the camel's back: they made a bad reservation for me on my birthday.

Nos refirió un amigo y que agradecidos le estamos. La atención, el servicio y la comida excelente. Hace rato no nos han atendido con tanto cariño. Teniendo un Restaurant lo agradecemos doble. El cocinero cuando vio nuestra duda para seleccionar, nos dio a probar sus moles. Una mejor que la otra. Seguimos sin saber qué escoger. A la final todo era muy, muy sabroso.

2020: Best tacos in Frankfurt! Nice service! July 2024: Adding to my review from 2020, we went back again and this time ordered the same pulled port tacos. The flavor was still nice but sadly the meat was super dry and chewy. I told the waitress when she came to ask if everything was fine, and she said “our chef is Mexican, this is how it is in Mexico”. A restaurant which cannot take feedback is sadly a no go for me.

1. Love the tacos but everything has become so expensive. A year or so ago the drink (agua de Jamaica or horchata) used to be included in the price but not anymore. 2. There used to be salsa bowls for you to serve yourself but now instead you get the smallest amounts in plastic containers which is such a waste and horrible for our environment. 3. 11€ for a very small margarita in plastic cups is not ok

As a Mexican, I previously thought of this restaurant (which later changed to a taqueria) as the most authentic Mexican. The atmosphere was very friendly and I loved going to show my friends here how to eat in Mexico; but I don't know what happened to them, it started to get super heavy and the treatment to the diner, TERRIBLE. I have to admit that the tacos are not bad, they are good (although the last time I went and decided not to return, they were swimming in grease) but they tasted worse with the treatment they gave us. I hope you read the comments so that you take it as learning.

Unfortunately very disappointing. Quite expensive and food is reheated in the microwave. It doesn't work at all!

We always enjoyed coming to eat. The last visit was underground. We will come again, if it doesn't taste good at all again, then we will have to look for a new Mexican restaurant. A pity

Unfortunately, I was very negatively surprised by the change in the concept (disposable packaging, self-service a la Vapiano). Both the menu and the service have deteriorated massively and many dishes are simply no longer available. Before that, I was very impressed with the store and went there more often. No one could tell me why they changed the concept. It's a real shame because the restaurant was doing very well and I don't understand why it makes sense. The food still tastes very good!

Hadn’t been here since last year and I was very disappointed to see how much it changed. Taste is not bad (nor great), but portions got smaller, menu selection got smaller, service (if any) got worse and prices got higher.

It has been a year the last time I was here. Yesterday I went again with big hopes but I'm not sure if the owners are changed. But food is completely changed as well as there is no table service anymore. It is self service, which is 100% ok but the size of the food is now incredibly small. I'm very disappointed.

Expensive meals with little food/content. In terms of taste, it's (very) below average. Speedometers were very loose...a no go.. Drinks in 0.3L or 0.2L bottles and charge around €4 for them… Unpleasant atmosphere with audible table bangs from the kitchen.

Oh, I didn't read the comments before coming to this site. I'm sorry but the service is terrible, sometimes appearances can be deceiving and the truth is we ordered two orders of tacos and I didn't complain about the taste, it was delicious. But the attention of those who run the business seems like someone was asking for a gift and no way to return

Were there for the second time yesterday. Price for 4 (small) tacos has increased from €10 to €11. The salsa is now available packaged in small plastic bowls instead of being self-serve (why?) The price-performance ratio is not right. I think it's a shame that the place is becoming classic fast food. A bit bland in taste. I ordered Suadero (with beef brisket) but got lamb. Tinga de pollo was good.

After spending a lot of time in Mexico and Latin America, I can say that this taqueria is the most authentic in Frankfurt. Ingredients, flavors and service 10/10.

As a Mexican, I previously highly recommended this restaurant as the best Mexican food in Frankfurt, even with its change to Taqueria I still liked it a lot. I must have sent more than thirty people. Now I'm a little embarrassed to recommend it because the last few times I've gone almost everything is crossed out on their menu, especially the few vegetarian options, they never accept card payment, the portions are smaller. Anyway, I hope they get their act together because the tacos are very delicious.

Tastes great! Unfortunately, the service wasn't too friendly and it's relatively expensive (4 tacos for 11 euros). Still a recommendation if you want to go out for Mexican food.

Taqueria!!! You have to realize that you can't eat big dishes here. The portions are not enough to fill you up. But, the tacos with different fillings are good and the tortillas are very tasty. Very good between meals.

I ordered "to go" and everything worked wonderfully. I bridged the few minutes of waiting with a cool Mexican beer. Next time I'll eat directly on site because the interior and ambience appeal to me because of its simplicity and authenticity!

Doe tacos are good, but since the shop has self-service, the filling of the tacos is significantly less and the portions are now very small. When I asked the waiter what the difference was between the different pork tacos, he just looked at me and said, "I don't understand the question." Even on repeat he couldn't tell me what the difference was between the three different pork tacos.

They should improve the service... They treated us very badly and we were in a rush... They didn't even give us time to choose well what we wanted to eat

Eh, very disappointing after they changed the concept! I liked the restaurant better before but now it’s just a cafeteria/cantine feeling. Prices are way too high for the low quality of foods. Margaritas cost €8.50 and are served in a small plastic cup…Absolutely not okay. I would never pay that again. No utensils offered when asked to eat my quesadilla. To be honest, I ordered 1 quesadilla and I was still hungry afterwards but it cost me €10 or 11€! There’s no way I am paying €22 for quesadillas. Prices are way too expensive for what you get. Sorry to say!

Once a full-fledged restaurant, today it's more like Mexican fast food (only a very small selection of dishes). Still tasty and affordable, highly recommended for taco lovers, but the ambience is quite "sober".

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. The bland quesadilla was dripping with grease. There was no cutlery, but the tortilla was so greasy that you couldn't eat it with your fingers. The bottom of the basket was completely full of oil. The lamb in the tacos was sometimes slippery - inedible. The guacamole was a thin sauce that tasted like nothing. Beer was served in plastic cups. The staff seems like they would like to get rid of you straight away: order straight away, pay straight away. The waiter reacted insulted to criticism from other guests. It's a shame, there used to be a really great Mexican restaurant here. The new concept doesn't work for me at all.

Simple but good. It is self-service. The food was very tasty and everyone can choose sauce according to their taste.

Pedimos tres órdenes de tacos (cada una trae cuatro tacos y se pueden elegir dos sabores por orden) y agua de Jamaica. Todo estaba delicioso y el lugar es muy bonito.

Best tacos in Frankfurt. Authentic Mexican tacos, very delicious. Can't go wrong with any of the choices. They used to take card (and the door even has a list of cards accepted) but they do not accept card anymore so bring cash. They also have around 6 salsas to put on your tacos and they are delicious. The spicy ones (scharf) are actually Mexican level (not German level) spicy so if you are not sure about the spice level only take a little bit first. I love spicy and this is one of the few places in FFM that I can find actual spicy.

Wir waren sehr begeistert von "Fonda de Santiago", welches eher den Eindruck eines Imbisses als eines Restaurants machte. Die Speisekarte ist Recht klein. Dennoch sind die angebotenen Tacos so wie Burritos sehr lecker. Hier hat man auch eine Auswahl an verschiedenen Soßen von der man sich jederzeit bedienen kann. Die Soßen konnte man leider nicht so einfach nehmen, da hier alles auf Selbstbedienung konzipiert ist. Es werden hierbei keine Soßenbecher angeboten. Alles andere erhält man in Einwegteller und -besteck. Dennoch war das Essen wirklich sehr lecker.

I've eaten here several times now. I will say that the tacos are really good. Its no Mexico City taco restaurant but for FFM, its decent. My favorite are the tacos de pastor. I wish they made tacos de asada! Their salsas are tasty as well. I've tried all of them. Some are really spicy which I love. The price for a plate of four tacos is 10€. However, you can only order two different kind of tacos per plate. For example, two pastor and two cochinitas. So, if you want 6 tacos, they won't allow you to order 6, you must order 4 or 8 tacos. Make it make sense? Even though they have a Visa/Mastercard credit card sign on their door, they don't accept debit or credit cards. Only EC card and cash accepted.

Authentic little mexican taquería. The food was tasty and it felt like being in mexico. Only the margaritas were a bit too small. Agreed by my gf from Guadalajara.

Really good Mexican food! The carnitas tacos and the salsas were as good as the ones that you eat in Mexico. The waitress was really nice and helped us with recommendations from the menu. Definitely coming back!

They have updated their menu as of October 2023 and I must say I like it even more. The tacos are amazing as always and many more options for them. No need to make a reservation. But you do have to order and pay upfront.

Absolut authentische mexikanische Küche, mit Fokus auf Tacos. Dazu gibt es typische Getränke und die Tacos können beliebig mit verschiedenen Soßen gewürzt werden. Äußerst nettes Personal und authentisches Ambiente runden jeden Besuch ab. Eine klare Empfehlung, richtig mexikanisch zu essen.

Wir hatten uns so auf den ersten Besuch gefreut. Aber wir werden dort kein zweites Mal hingehen. Das Essen ist schlecht gemacht bis ungenießbar. Satt kann man von dem dann doch überteuertem Fast Food nicht werden. Getränke gibt es nur im Plastikbecher (Hallo, wir haben das Jahr 2023 in Mitteleuropa! Hallo, Klimawandel!!). Ambiente und Gastfreundlichkeit waren top. Service, Nachhaltigkeit und Essen sehr verbesserungswürdig.

Sehr leckeres Essen ABER.. -leider ist es kein Restaurant sondern mehr ein Imbiss. (Selbstbedienung obwohl der Laden gefühlt nur 20qm hat und 2 Leute hinter der Bar stehen) -Getränke in Plastikbechern. -Soßen aber keine Schälchen dafür. Auf Nachfrage gab es Schnapps Plastikbecher mit denen man sich Soße nehmen konnte (es war eine riesen Sauerei) Alles in allem würden wir nicht wieder kommen, höchstens als take away.

Pro: Nettes Personal, Essen lecker, Deko ist ganz nett Contra: Kleine Portionen, Plastikbecher statt Gläser, keine richtigen Schälchen fürs Salsa-Buffet, ziemlich dunkler Raum, Selbstbedienung, keine Beilagen auf der Speisekarte, selbst beim Essen vor Ort wird der Burrito in Alufolie verpackt. Ist eher ein Imbiss als ein Restaurant. Die guten Bewertungen passen nicht mehr wirklich. Werden eher nicht wiederkommen.

2 Mal besucht. Das Essen ist gut, aber die Bedienung ist leider unfreundlich. Alles andere als mexikanische Kultur. Und dazu völlig absurd ein Restaurant, dass bereits um 10 Uhr schließt.

Wir dachten wir gehen in ein Restaurant, was leider ein Irrtum war. Personal war freundlich, aber es war alles Selbstbedienung. Bestellung nur an der Theke, bezahlen und abholen. Essen war okay, aber nur in Pappschachteln, was ich nicht sehr appetitlich fand. Alles auf Fingerfood ausgelegt, was aber nur schwer mit den Händen (mit den Soßen) zu essen war. Kein Besteck. Eine sehr kleine Speisekarte, Nur Tacos und Buritos, echt schade denn wir hatten uns auf leckeres Mexikanisches Essen gefreut. Es war scheinbar mal anders, laut den Bewertungenen und den Fotos ...ich hoffe es wird wieder geändert.

Actualización 2da visita: Muy rica comida, auténtico pero muy poco amigable servicio. No respetan sus ofertas que publican en facebook. A nosotros no nos sirvieron el paquete de tacos durante el mundial porque “no dijimos que íbamos a ver el partido”. 1era visita: ¡Exquisito! Pedimos las enchiladas de mole pipián y los tacos de cochinita pibil. Uno de los únicos restaurantes en Alemania que sirve comida deliciosa y auténticamente mexicana. Para cerrar, un rico mezcal servido con la auténtica sal de gusano y naranja.

The food was good. Service was good. Atmosphere was great. I took my family for dinner and they all had good food. The marchers was ok. The delivery of food was very fast. Lots of charm in this place.

War mit einem guten Freund hier, der ein halbes Jahr backpacken in Mexico war. Auf seine Empfehlung haben wir hier Sonntags gegessen und waren überwältigt. Alle Gericht waren der Wahnsinn. Salsa, Guacamole, Tacos, Quesadillas waren perfekt. Sehr gute Tequilakarte!

I‘d call this place an oasis of good, authentic, Mexican food in whole Frankfurt area. Fonda Santiago is far away from the typical „Fajita“, „Burrito“, Tex-Mex kitchen and offers a colourful variety of classic, Mexican dishes. Their guacamole is outstanding and so is everything I ever tasted in this restaurant. The only aspect which I consider unbalanced is the pricing. No doubt that high class ingredients come with a certain price but e.g a Michelada for > 7 Euro is a bit too ambitious from my point of view.

Wir waren sehr enttäuscht. Die Fotos im Internet und die guten Bewertungen haben uns auf dieses Restaurant aufmerksam gemacht, lange waren wir auf der Suche nach einem authentischen mexikanischen Restaurant, jedoch immer noch erfolglos. Wir waren mittags da und haben einen Platz ohne vorher reservieren zu müssen bekommen, das war ganz gut. Als wir in das Menü schauten, waren wir erstmal überfordert. Denn das Menü besteht aus 10 verschiedenen Blättern, lose in Folien in einem Hefter gelegt . Die Preise waren sehr hoch und schlecht kalkuliert. Für das was wir bekamen hätte ich nicht mal 10€ bezahlt! Bild folgt. Mein Getränk war lecker und das Essen ebenfalls, jedoch war alles nicht mit liebe und qualitativ abgerichtet, so das ich sagen würde die preis Leistung passt. (Und es war zu wenig). Das Restaurant war ebenfalls sehr spärlich eingerichtet und man hat das Gefühl es hängen teils noch Dekorationen von der Kneipe die vorher drin war. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht und verärgert. Der Service war auch nicht der beste. Kaum geredet, nichts empfohlen, kein danke usw. Wir würden dieses Restaurant NICHT weiter empfehlen.

Llegamos a las 7:15 pm sin reserva y en efecto estaba el restaurante sin mesas libres, solo habían dos mesas pequeñas y redondas libres junto a la barra pero con la información "Reserviert". Esto lo puedo entender y en efecto debe ser así. Aún así decidimos esperar, ya que nos habían recomendado el restaurante y además estábamos dispuestos a esperar con paciencia. Nos quedamos allí en una de esas mesas pequeñas y redondas junto a la barra, esperando tomar un lugar que quedase libre o con la esperanza de que algún cliente cancelara una reserva. Pedimos las bebidas y la comida. Por asuntos de personal no pudimos pedir las añoradas margaritas. Recibimos la comida con las correspondientes entradas con demora. En efecto el restaurante fue quedando libre y nosotros nos alegramos de poder recibir una mesa más cómoda, pero no fue así. No llegaron más clientes y estás mesas continuaron libres hasta las 9:30 pm, tiempo en el que salimos de este restaurante. En total una decepción: con una comida de calidad normal, con unas reglas de "exclusividad de la reserva" inexplicables y con carencia de atención al cliente. El camarero trató de atendernos, pero he tenido la impresión de que la persona que dirige este restaurante carece de la hospitalidad y atención mexicana!

We went there for the 2nd time as the first time they were struggling for being understaffed and the service was really bad. So we gave them a 2nd chance. Big mistake, the food is average, service is EXTREMELY slow and the price is totally not worth it. It is true that their are not many good Mexican food Restaurants in Frankfurt, but this one on top of not being good is expensive. We will keep TakoHauss as the best option for good Mexican food in Fkft.

A friend and I went for dinner and shared beef tacos and a cheese enchilada. I wasn't impressed by the tacos. I was expecting Carne asada. It was shredded meat. I used to live in LA and was spoilt rotten by the taco trucks there. Enchilada was pretty good. All in all not a bad place but nothing to write home about.

If you want to feel the true Mexican flavor, you have to visit this place, the service is good, fast and efficient. I would like to return soon.

I love Mexican food and good restaurants are hard to find here. This place was recommended by a co worker so a friend and I decided to give it a try. We arrived around 530pm for an early dinner so it wasn’t crowded yet and we were seated quickly. The food was flavorful and cooked perfectly! I was surprised at the amount of chicken in the tacos! The different salsas and guacamole were delicious, however, the chips did not taste homemade. The prices were very reasonable too! FYI: Street parking available and credit cards accepted

El ambiente mola y la comida está súper buena. Nos pilló que había un cumpleaños y había una mujer cantando canciones típicas mientras comíamos. Sobre todo recomiendo las quesadillas y el Margarita de postre. Mmmmmm...!!
